If you study what the Bible actually says re God's intentions for the human race you will see that we are in a spiritual battle with evil forces versus God and His very good plans for us. He had good intentions for the ones He made in His own image. It's us that's gone astray not Him. Jesus stepped into human history with a rescue plan- God's own plan. These are not man made beliefs. There are too many witnesses- eye witnesses testifying of this and God's goodness. I've read these eye witness accounts.

I was not a believer. I accepted the Lord as my saviour and got baptized just to get married with my husband. Now we have been happily married for 23 years and I came to a realization that the best choice that I have made is to accept the Lord as my savior. I cannot thank God enough for choosing me as his child. He is always there for me in my journey, happiness, sorrows, ups and downs by reassuring me that I am there for you no matter what.

I am getting married to my fiance this Friday on a beach, just my wife, me, the Chaplin and his wife who is serving as a witness and taking a few pictures with one of our phones. Right after, we are getting baptized in the ocean and I am very excited! We both agree that a wedding is a sacred covenant between husband, wife, and God and that having Christ as the foundation of our relationship is the ONLY way a marriage will and should work.

My husband and I found God in a moment of desperation from an addiction. I remember wanting a Bible immediately and couldn’t get to the store fast enough to buy one. I read and read. I looked at my now husband and said “we have to get married!” I love my husband, and always have. We planned to do the typical wedding someday whenever. I felt God tell me “separate to different households or marry” so we did. We got married through the court due to not having enough money to have a big wedding. I didn’t wear a dress. He didn’t wear a fancy suit. We simply signed our names, and got coffee afterwards while praising God He gave us His word and we followed. We’ve been married now a year and a half. Got into the church. For our 1 month anniversary we joined hands and individually let each other go to get in that water to be baptized. God saved us. Praise God for He is so kind and merciful. Listen to Him and you shall thrive 😇

But signing a paper at the court has got nothing to do with a Christian wedding. You only signed the papers that made your marriage legal; if you don't do it at the church, it is NOT marriage.
At protestant churches, the weddings have no sacramental value, so they are basically invalid.
@@martaszyszka7654 thank you for your concern. I see your side of things. However I have spoken to many people from my church now as this was a major concern to me. Legally wise we are married. I was not apart of the church at the time of my marriage so getting anyone to “bless” it I had no idea how to even begin that. I just heard what I did, and got married in a legal way. I think it has to do with certain traditions? Im not fully sure though. I don’t come from a Christian family so I’m definitely different on this approach. I’m the only one married in my family. I tried my best. :) I’m not sure if your comment comes from a place of true concern Christian to Christian or a place of not wanting to accept it due to religious close mindedness. I think people confuse "Western style wedding" with "Christian wedding". The best weddings I have been to are the ones where there is singing of worship songs during the ceremony and everyone joined in.

I have to admit. And I’m embarrassed to say it but I grew up in a Christian home raised to go to church. I still do. I got married to non believer. I wanted the wedding. I wanted a big wedding. Let me you. I’m paying the consequences. He’s abused me physically, mentally and emotionally. I regret it. And now I’m asking God to help me get out of it. But I didn’t listen to God when I should have. Now with two kids I’m crying to God to get me out. I’m so dumb. Living with him (only child) and his mom has been the biggest struggle. I’ve gone to to hospital for stress because it affects me physically. Now I know what I’m going to tell my son and daughter because the struggles I’m going through. Wish I would have listened to my parents but I didn’t want to be under rules so I thought it would have been easy but it’s the hardest. This experience has ruined marriage for me.
Please think before getting married and having kids. They can sweet talk all they want but listen to Gods word. He will never lead you a stray. God bless you.

Even Jesus went to wedding celebrations, i agree we should not waist money, but we should celebrate our wedding day, and in the right way by acknowledging Christ through the event.
I don’t think Bishop is advocating against celebration. I think he is advocating against miss usage of alcohol, over eating, driving cars around and honking, and generally acting stupid. Theres a difference between wedding and bacchanalia.

Me and my wife did nothing expensive and went 1 year after the wedding to a beach we saw online has still nice water temperatures in European autumn. We kept stress level and budget low.

My wife and I married in a public park with our pastor and the family members from both sides who could and wanted to attend. Some friends as well.
It was small and after the marriage we hosted a dinner at our favorite restaurant. That's it, that's all. It was the best wedding we could of had. It cost us 5000$ for dress, suite, rings and venue.
2 short years later our first of three children were born and 1 year ofter that we bought our first house with 25% down payment.
Moral of the story is, weddings are about union in eyes of the lord. Make it about that and he will provide an abundance for your future.
3 kids and 2 houses later, we are still wealthy in his love, abundance of things we need etc and all on one income.

People want their wedding day to be special - which it should be. But they confuse special with extravagant. My wife & I were married 26 years ago & we spent on the whole wedding what most people spend on just the wedding dress. Lots of meaning, lots of family/friends, & a life based with God.

As my parish priest told in his homily, at funeral Mass, it is an idea of the deceased's heavenly birthday with no one doubting it could be hell's birthday. Sad is the reality. Hell has completely vanished since Vatican 2 and those inmates of Hell are living in Vatican.

When we got married we offer our marriage to Jesus and upon the blessings of the judge, I saw a figure who raising his hands on us, for I prayed that may Jesus and God will bless our marriage and they will be our center of our lives, and thanks God, if there is ups and downs we are able to solve and prosper by the grace of God

My husband and I met according to GOD's divine will and plan for us, in our most broken moments. Had we both used our own judgement to decide, we would never be able to experience the kingdom marriage he brought us into. He was with us from the start. We helped each other heal with JESUS guidance, and as a result became everything we never even knew we needed and desired, but JESUS always exceeds our plans and expectations, if we are truly able to listen, understand and act accordingly. We waited on him to tell us when we should come together as one. Happily married now with JESUS leading the way 🙏🏼💞🕊️🕯️

I was blessed for my father to take my sister and I,overseas to meet my Grand parents.
What I experienced was genuine true care and love for one another.

It's all about competing and Envy always trying to outmatch one another.

Truth well said, a wedding is not a show- off of what you can afford just for a few hours and after the crowds are gone you remain with stresses of how to manage the bills. This may lead to frustrations, stressful union for the first five years even longer.
May the Lord open our eyes to Premarital training and practical discipleship of our lives as a strategy for glorious marriage and sustainable Godly homes for this and coming generations .

Founder of the Salvation Army William Booth & Catherine Booth's wedding was a simple one, there were only 5 people present, the Bride, the Groom, the Bride's friend, the Groom's friend and the pastor. The wedding took place in a simple chapel. No fancy cars, no jewelry, no entertainment etc. yet they had a very firm Christian life.

I always thought that weddings were too flashy. If a couple has all of the extra stuff at their wedding, then will the marriage have any substance? Well, that depends other factors, but I can say this: marriage is supposed to be a physical representation of the relationship between Jesus and his church according to how God intended it. So shouldn't the wedding reflect Jesus and the church and not be solely about the man and woman getting married?
I really believe that the secularization of weddings and marriage has really made people forget about the purposes of them. Settling down is not supposed to be an obligation, but something that someone looks forward to because a man is marrying the woman he loves, and the woman is marrying a man that she loves. Love is at the core of weddings and marriage and the only way to know what love is supposed to be is by knowing God. However, people have forgotten God. People not only still celebrate weddings (in their own godless, vain way) but also take marriage for granted thinking that it's just something that everyone does.
People have to know God again and the way this is done is through faith on Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was crucified on a cross and then rose from the dead 3 days later. He did these things so that we could be forgiven of our sins and thus would receive eternal life to be with God, our Creator, forever. Marriage was instituted when God created Adam and Eve and his definition of marriage has not changed, but our definition has. God has stayed the same, but we (in our sinful nature) are so fickle. Let's come back to God!

Eggs represent life and rebirth and is an ancient tradition and became a part of easter (more specificly easter sunday) because it was forbidden to eat eggs 40 days before easter so when easter sunday came they ate alot of eggs. Hope that helps.
About chocolate rabbit i dont know, but german lutherans had a easter hare that was like a judge similar to santa if someone was naughty or nice and then there is a rabbit that represent fertility/new life thats was celebrated in spring in pagan time that moved on to represent rebirth of jesus or something like that. Alot of things in european christianity comes from pre-christianity because they want to keep the european traditions because christianity is not a european religion that has spread european traditions, so to keep the traditions alive they more or less said it represent jesus or god insted of old gods or similar things.

We eloped in 2005, but as cradle Catholics in order to Confirmed, we had to get married in the church. We talked to our Priest and he put us in the pre-Cana classes (the ones we should have done in the beginning) and we couldn't figure it out because we were already married 17 years. We passed and our amazing Deacon married us. Our Priest is awesome, but we're closer with the Deacon (we did back to back RCIA & Pre-Cana classes). We had our kids, my mom and brother, our RCIA sponsor and 4 good friends. Our whole ceremony was to thank God for being with us for the first 17 years of our marriage and to dedicate the rest of our married lives to Him. It was a wonderful day. The best part was when our Deacon reintroduced us as "New & Improved through the love and mercy of Jesus Christ".
Taking the marriage classes taught us a lot about what we were supposed to do in the beginning of our marriage and how God should always be at the center. We definitely enjoyed the class and realized it was only by God's grace we had gotten as far as we had. We had a little luncheon 3 months later. We're coming up on 19 years married and our 1st anniversary of our marriage in Christ.

I wholeheartedly agree. My Pastor would always say before every wedding that he ministers that he want it to be a solemn moment, does not want people moving about or making jokes during the act of marriage because it is a covenant before God and we need to behave accordingly giving it the seriousness that it deserves.

We hosted a prayer time before our wedding, but no one showed up (granted, most were from out of town). My brother finally prayed for/with us out of pity. I really hope our wedding glorified God and that our marriage continues to do so.
