My ex girlfriend "it's all just noise" Key of Geebz "lots to talk about here" Precisely why my subscription to this channel lasted longer than the relationship 🤣
SevenDust is a heavy hitter that never gives a bad live performance … they have a massive catalog of great music and for the life of me, isn’t selling out arenas around the world, and should be!!! Their rendition of “The Day I Tried To Live” should be the song of 2020 !!!
True that. I was (and still am) not a huge Sevendust fan although I enjoy some of their music. But I saw them live a few years back, and it is still easily one of the top 5 live performances I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen Tool eight times. Great live band, honestly better than on their albums IMO.
Gotta be the Angel's Son version from the Lynn Straight tribute album, though... His voice on top of everyone else involved, the acoustic guitars... Awesome
Totally! I had a beer and wings with Lajon with an old friend when they played in Indiana before their show. He gave us free VIP tickets. I have been a fan since '98.
I've been a Sevendust fan since their 1st album. Great songwriters. Lajon's voice is unmistakable when you hear it. Clint & John on the harmonies and Morgan screaming make a great combo. Listen to Face to Face. They close with it every concert.
I've seen sevendust several times live. Lajon always sings SO LOUD that the speakers distort ,everytime. That guy used to be able to belt it out for real
I met them in Hollywood after a show around 2006, they all signed my South Park style Sevendust shirt, still in my closet lol Lajon (singer) is such a great guy, was awesome to get to talk to em. First song from first album ('Black') is one of my favs
Loved Sevendust back in the day. This will be my first listen to this song. Their first album, particularly the final track "My Ruin" were pivotal in my listening patterns at that time. Great band, great music, and a singer that mostly sings brilliantly, not screams full time.
Sevendust was me and my older brothers first metal concert back around 2003. Now we are supposed to be going to see them again in Charlotte in July for his birthday. They put on a great show last time and I'm excited to see them again. Their album Animosity is still amazing but I really need to checkout more of their newer stuff.
Sevendust is one of those bands where every member is an absolute master of their craft. So very underrated. LJ as a lead vocalist is unmatched in tone, emotion, power. The entire band provides vocal support in many of their songs. Morgan, the drummer is the background yells and screams you hear, dubbed the bro and the crow lol. He also adds cleans in some songs.. Vince, the bassist does some of the growls, and adds cleans. Clint, the lead guitar also does growls and amazing cleans. John, the rhythm guitarist is usually direct supporting clean vocals with LJ. This band has a truly massive catalogue from the mid 90s to now. You should absolutely do a deep dive into these guys. You won't regret it!
Such an overlooked and underrated band! They get lumped in with a lot of the standard “hard rock” but they have so much going on rhythmically and melodically. So much to offer.
Sevendust is one of the very few bands whose music I will purchase every single time without reservation. They’ve put out basically the same album about 15 times now and I gladly pay for it every time. They are masters of this particular style and they have done it with integrity and joy for 20+ years now.
Sevendust is one of the best bands to come out of the Nu-Metal era. They never quite got to be as big as the biggest bands in the genre, but they have never stopped doing their thing. If I were recommending something old and something more recent, I would recommend "Denial" from Home or "Thank You" from Kill the Flaw.
There are so many to choose from including Bender, Licking Cream, Trust, Waffle, Denial, Enemy, Face to Face, Black, Beg To Differ, Shine, Karma, Home, Bitch, My Ruin, Decay, Angels Son, and many many more. Id like to suggest a few bangers I enjoy also that haven't been mentioned. Pieces and Hero. Hope you enjoy the journey that I've enjoyed since the 90s in seeing and meeting these great guys who are the working class band. They work and travel a lot and are very down to earth great people. Enjoy! Looking forward to more videos.
Hey, super stoked that you're covering Sevendust now! If you're after suggestions, "Home" is an absolute force of a song, and "Xmas Day" isn't really representative of their work, but it's just such a powerful song.
Fan since 1997 so amazing 7D ( Licking cream ,or thank you , murder bar so many awesome songs to hard to pick 🤷🏻♀️looking forward to seeing you do more SEVENDUST 🎶💙
I knew you’d love them! Animosity is considered by many to be their best, definitely worth checking out. Next is one of my favorite albums just because it got me hooked on the group, Pieces will always be one of my favorite songs ever. But honestly everything they do is amazing
Always been a Sevendust fan... great guys, great band! So many good jams, greatly under appreciated, and still goin after all these years! "Crucified" was always one of my favorite jams.
True statement! I saw Sevendust in 1998 at Ichabods bar before anyone here knew who they were! I’ve seen them every single time they’ve been to Spokompton
Sevendust is my favorite band iv been listening to them since 1997 I love them crazy talented group of guys. I recommend you listening to black, denial, praise, live again and unraveling. Heck listen to them all you’ll love them.
Sevendust is one of my two favorite bands (AIC is the other), and no joke, I've seen em live almost 40 times. They *always* put on a killer show, they've never put out a bad album, and I'm glad to see em gettin some love. Check out Splinter, Licking Cream, and Unraveling, man. You'll love em. Oh, and seconded on them being the nicest humans around. They treat every fan like they're family.
Look closer and you'll see most of the screaming and aggressive vocals are the drummer Morgan Rose. He is one of the hardest hitting drummers ever and has sustained many injuries from it over the years. He also triggers mostly live in order to match the studio recordings.
They all are in solo projects too... & hybrid projects with other bands & different combos of guys.... they all sing ... multi talented dudes... Sevendust is like a tree with many branches
sevendust has always put out solid work. ive never been disappointed by a release. backing vocals (screams) are the drummer morgan rose who is an animal. you may enjoy is cam only performances. really insane drummer with even more insane hair styles for his balding head.
Yeah I was saying in another comment that they have stayed true to their signature sound and have put out consistently good records all along. One of my top 4 or 5 nu metal bands
Reading the comments I'm surprised more people aren't saying angels son. He loves acoustic tracks that angels son is one of the most chilling goosebumps inducing songs out there
OMG, I've been working and I come back to UA-cam and you actually used my suggestion!! Awesome!! So glad you liked them and could really see the intricacy with which they work and rock with. They have 3 singers, Lajon is lead, but the "unclean" vocal screams are the drummer Morgan Rose, and then the deeper background - sometimes foreground - vocals are the guitarist as you noted. The best example of the interplay with all 3 is the song Praise. You should also check out songs like: Decay, Trust, Unravelling, Criminal, Broken Down, Face to Face, The Past, The Wait, Sleeper, Kill Me... just anything really, I kid you not, they have never put out a bad full length song. Their longest and most unusual track is probably Burn from the album Alpha. Thank you so much for checking them out though, just mad praise shoveled your way!! :)
Sevendust is great! Another great song, Angel's Son, they did as tribute to their friend that passed away Lynn Strait of the band Snot. Odd name, but great band and Lynn had an INCREDIBLE voice. Check out Sevendust: Angel's Son Snot: Snot (song)
My absolute jam from Sevendust is Splinter off of the Cold Day Memory album, it is one of the best opening songs to an album! They also did a cover of The Day I Tried To Live by Soundgarden that is spectacular as well! Love the channel man! This is my first time commenting, your songs choices are in my wheelhouse so I can throw a bunch at ya!
Man you are awesome. Just came across you. Very cool breakdown. Having some music background, this made me appreciate this band way more hearing from you.
Geebz, I’d happily listen to you decompose the Doublemint jingle. To hear you break down one of my all-time favorite bands darn near brings a tear to my eye.
One of my most favorite bands. I can't wait for more! thank you for your detailed and thorough explanation and breakdown. I have been wanting to learn to play an instrument, picked up the bass guitar, and you have helped give a deeper understanding and enough knowledge to go out and do more research. Keep doing the amazing work for those kids and I look forward to some more Sevendust! Another band/song, if I may suggest it, is Ra - Do you call my name. Great music and I know you will enjoy it. Aloha!
Thank you for doing a song by my all time favorite band! If you are looking for more Sevendust, check out "Karma". The song has just about every element of the band rolled into one song. So many others to suggest, "Pieces" and "The Truth" bring the walls down. If you want to check out their acoustic side, look for "Angel's Son."
Very happy you’ve had a taste of the ‘ Dust. Great great band. Their song ‘licking cream’ is one of my faves featuring Skin from the band Skunk Anansie. Would love to see you do King’s X Soen Jellyfish And so many more… 😜
Long time fan of this band. First hard rock concert for the Mrs and she was hooked! On the 2nd story of an old an warehouse and the floor was shaking from all the bouncing. Try Confessions of Hatred, Coward, Failure, Suffocate and Prayer.
Love Sevendust! heard them on a Mortal Kombat compilation before they changed their name to Sevendust and have been a fan and seen them live multiple times over the years.
Wait which track? I had all the MK soundtracks, it's where I first got into Type O, Fear Factory and eventually Urban Voodoo when I found a copy of the album for sale
The screaming is Morgan (drums) Clint does the lower growls and harmonies (lead guitar) and Vince (bass) does the low growl as well. John (guitar) does harmonies with Lajon.
Geebz! Thank you brother from Detroit, Michigan. Sevendust is my #1 favorite band by far. I've seen them around 25 times. I think you'll dig Shine, Angel's Son (both versions are excellent) and Bender with Chino Moreno of Deftones. All the best to you and yours 🤙
Wow, onto Sevendust! Nice. Longrunning, hard working, consistent. They stay inside their own lines to their own detriment at times, but pretty much everything they do is solid - especially in the last few releases - and Lajon's got such a great voice for the style. Lots of great tracks to check out. Speaking of other bands with lots of great tracks to check out, this is once again my gentle, erstwhile reminder to check out Band-Maid. In particular, for your engineer's ear, I'd suggest the MVs for either "Warning!" or "Domination"
Another vote to review The Dillinger Escape Plan. My vote would be a track called "Prancer" They have often been referred to as "math rock ", and I would be very interested on your interpretation
Love that you point out things like the pedal tone vocal harmony. I would be thrilled to see you pick apart "Brand New Remedy" or "Dr. Breacher and the Time Travel Anomaly" by Others By No One. There's some heavy, some soft and beautiful, and some wackiness and fun in every track.

I've seen them live 3 times and I've never seen anything else like it! Even their acoustic show was insane!
Sevendust-"Licking Cream", "Waffle","Angels son"
"Angel's Son" is a great song!
Great list, I would add Black and Too Close to Hate from their first album.
Denial
Rumblefish
Gotta be the Angel's Son version from the Lynn Straight tribute album, though... His voice on top of everyone else involved, the acoustic guitars... Awesome
I want Waffle
One of the most underrated bands!
So underrated!!!! They are such an amazing band!!!
Man, Sevendust never got the love they deserved. Great overlooked band.
Agreed!!!!
Seconding this.
GREAT BAND! sadly overlooked, never got there dues
Definitely, and Lajon is easily one of the best signers in rock
VERY underrated IMHO.
Sevendust's BENDER with Chino Moreno from the Deftones would be another good one to react to.
I could not agree more! Cheers!
100% 🔥
Bro, soulfly and Chino first commandment live.. 🔥🔥🔥
If you haven't done a reaction to "denial" I suggest you do. Favorite song of theres
Home album is the best
Great choice!
I've seen sevendust live about four times and they are just a kick ass band
One of if not THE best band I have ever seen live!
Best bunch of humans you could ever meet
This is absolute facts, right here. 100% some of the most kind, humble, caring, and loving people I've ever met.
This right here.

My absolute favorite band of all time.
Same!!!
I've seen Sevendust live twice and they are AWESOME!
They are not awesome. They are FN awesome 😎
Listen to Bitch, it's such a great song. Sevendust has so many good songs and albums for that matter.
Classic Sevendust!
Dude at first I thought this said “listen bitch” and I was like Jesus lol
Loved Sevendust back in the day. This will be my first listen to this song. Their first album, particularly the final track "My Ruin" were pivotal in my listening patterns at that time. Great band, great music, and a singer that mostly sings brilliantly, not screams full time.
"My Ruin" might very well be my favorite Sevendust track!
Sevendust "Black" is where it's at.
I agree 100%! The original 7d anthem! 🤘🔥🤘
Every time I hear Sevendust it brings me back to summer vacation in my middle school years.
Sevendust- Licking Creme ft. Skin is amazing as well
Sevendust was me and my older brothers first metal concert back around 2003. Now we are supposed to be going to see them again in Charlotte in July for his birthday. VERY VERY UNDERRATED BAND!!!!!!!! GIVE THEM A CHANCE
Sevendust = Black. First song that comes to mind anytime I hear that band name. Highway flying, gear banging, chugging jam!
So glad you checked out these guys some other good tracks by sevendust are, Enemy, God Bite's His Tongue, & Driven.
If you're going to do Sevendust, YOU MUST go to the Animosity or Seasons album. Shine or Disease. This was the good stuff
Shine is one of my favourites. Animosity yes! Good shout mate, great album.
Seasons is my favorite album by them
@@lasciethiesing2219 Same. Probably their last real good one, though. I kinda fell off after Next so not sure what all else they've done.
@@CraigKeidel Their last two albums, All I See Is War and Blood And Stone are very good!
@@lasciethiesing2219 Cool, I'll have to check them out.

Always been a Sevendust fan... great guys, great band! So many good jams, greatly under appreciated, and still goin after all these years! "Crucified" was always one of my favorite jams.
Crucified is an amazing song! The acoustic version really blows me away!
They have a bunch of accoustic stuff really interesting
LaJon is such a talented vocalist and a down to earth nice guy. Glad to see Sevendust getting some love, they are often overlooked.
Sevendust is the honorary house band of Spokane, WA. Shaht aht Bunz & GA!
True statement! I saw Sevendust in 1998 at Ichabods bar before anyone here knew who they were! I’ve seen them every single time they’ve been to Spokompton

“Shine” is an amazing track! Give it a listen!
One of if not the most under appreciated bands out there. They are even better live.
Sevendust has always been a solid band, no wasted riffs, no throwaway rhythms.
Look closer and you'll see most of the screaming and aggressive vocals are the drummer Morgan Rose. He is one of the hardest hitting drummers ever and has sustained many injuries from it over the years. He also triggers mostly live in order to match the studio recordings.
Do Soilwork next please! Whispers and Lights!
Love listening to music while playing video games and this song played on my spotify playlist last night!
Sevendust live is off the chain! A song I’d like to suggest is X-Mas Day because it’s different than what they’re known for. Great stuff!
“Not Today” is another amazing song by Sevendust.
I was just listening to your reaction to Ne Obliviscaris a moment ago. And of course, new video DROPS lol.
Shine is a great song by seven dust. Absolute banger off of their best album.
My second favorite band yesssss seen them so many times 7D4life 🤘🏽🎶💙 I’m so happy you finally got to them 😉so good !!!!

Sevendust is by far one of the best live performances I've seen and I've seen them several times here in the Midwest.
Favorite band for 20 years. Such great guys IRL too. Please dive into them. They deserve it.
They have so many great songs but one of their most powerful songs for me personally is “Follow” off of the animosity album.
I just want to say as a long die heard 7dust fan, this review had me almost to tears to see the excitement and reaction you had! Mind blown keep it up
Incredible analysis. Attention to all those details. Love it. And Sevendust has been on of my favorite bands for 20 plus years.
The entire Animosity album is great. Praise, Angel's Son, and Xmas Day provide a good sample of their range.
"shoeglaze" haha, love ya Geebz.
Is that another name for PornoCore? 🤣
sevendust has always put out solid work. ive never been disappointed by a release. backing vocals (screams) are the drummer morgan rose who is an animal. you may enjoy is cam only performances. really insane drummer with even more insane hair styles for his balding head.

More Sevendust man! They have an amazing catalogue
I like your analysis of this song. I’m learning a lot.Thank you.
Awesome band. Met these guys many times over the years and they are chill everytime. Class act with great music and performance.
Angel's Son and Waffle are awesome tracks that I hope you get around to them.
Angel's Song introduced me to Sevendust. Used to rock them and Staind non stop, though Sevendust was much superior.
Reading the comments I'm surprised more people aren't saying angels son. He loves acoustic tracks that angels son is one of the most chilling goosebumps inducing songs out there

Please, do Sevendust's "Licking Cream" for the phenomenal vocals.
That song is what metal duets are all about! LaJon and Skin pull you in softly and then blow the doors off.
If you're a first time listener you've gotta listen to Denial by them. It's a stand out track
Sevendust is great! Another great song, Angel's Son, they did as tribute to their friend that passed away Lynn Strait of the band Snot. Odd name, but great band and Lynn had an INCREDIBLE voice.

The screaming is Morgan (drums) Clint does the lower growls and harmonies (lead guitar) and Vince (bass) does the low growl as well. John (guitar) does harmonies with Lajon.

Clint Lowery signed my guitar when I was just learning a while back. Super nice/awesome dude!
