AS A SURVIVOR OF SEXUAL ABUSE FROM MY FATHER AND BROTHER. I DIDN'T TELL MY MOTHER TILL YEARS AFTER THE FACT. I TRIED TO FORGET WITH DRUGS. DRUGS ONLY HELPED FOR SO LONG. WHEN I TOLD MY MOTHER, SHE DIDN'T BELIEVE ME. SHE TOLD ME THE DRUGS MADE ME THINK THAT WAY. FOR YEARS I QUESTIONED MYSELF, I THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY. ONE DAY MY YOUNGER BROTHER FINALLY TOLD ME THAT HE KNEW EVERYTHING I EVER SAID WAS TRUE. THEN HE SAID HE WAS STANDING BEHIND THE DOOR AND SEEN EVERYTHING. THEN I MADE HIM TELL MY MOTHER 2 TIMES AND SHE THREATENED TO CALL THE COPS ON US. SHE ALSO WROTE BOTH OF US OUT OF THE WILL. WE WERE BANNED FROM HOSPICE AND THE FUNERAL. MY MOTHER'S BEST FRIEND TOLD ME THAT MY MOTHER KNEW WHAT WAS HAPPENING. WE ALL SUFFERED MENTAL, EMOTIONAL, AND PHYSICAL ABUSE FROM BOTH PARENTS. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I NEVER ALLOWED ANYONE AROUND MY SON ALONE. I TOUGHT HIM TO TELL ME EVERYTHING. NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS, MOMMY IS STRONGER THAN THE PERSON WHO SAYS ITS A SECRET.

Someone needs to explain this to me. How come when a soldier gets snatched in warfare and tortured, only to escape and then murder their keeper, they’re considered a hero and rewarded by the country. BUT when a couple little boys grows up being tortured AND R8ped, and finally saves themselves it’s looked at as horrible choice making and they’re sent to jail? Explain to me the difference in those two examples. If anything the story of the little boys is more heart wrenching because they spent their whole life being tortured and r8pred whereas the soldier spent a few weeks, months or even a year going through similar things, but when both the soldier and the boys make the same decision to kill to survive, one’s rewarded while the boys go to prison.

The solution for the Menendez Brothers was to move out of the house and live on their own. After all, they were adults at the time. They also needed to go into therapy (In other words, go see a psychiatrist) for being traumatized by the sexual abuse. That would have been better than going to prison for all those years.

@@bmoshareholderappleshareho855I’d say the 3 different trials and the exclusion of evidence. The state tried them over and over and over again (literally) until they could get a guilty verdict. The first two trials resulted in a hung jury, then the 3rd trial- the judge forbade the defense team from using the defense of sexual abuse. The reasoning was that this defense was what was causing the jurors in the two previous cases to be hung and ended in mistrial. So the country spent millions of dollars already, the judge made an executive order to forbade the defense from using thier sexual abuse defense in the 3rd trial- without their defense, they were found guilty when the first two cases they were not found guilty.
