ABSOLUTELY!!! Don't care what anybody says ... As a trio , Robin Trower Band can go Toe to Toe with any other trio : Cream, Rush, ZZ Top, Taste - You name it ! Its a SHAM Trower is not in RRHOF. 🎯🎸📀🎧
This band is timeless music for those who KNOW the art. Trower, Dewar & Lordan = Heaven! I was a wee 16 years young when this was recorded... luvin it all the more to this day @ 52 years old!!! Brilliant! Peace James
As underrated and overlooked as Robbin was and is James was equally overlooked. Two great artists. One had the tone the other the voice. Sadly missed RIP
James Dewar takes those velvet lyrics and wraps them around Robin Trower's passionate axe. This track just slays. I couldn't even recommend a band today to cover this because it's too much for any band I know.
Jack and Jill was the best song on the album but for some crazy reason it's never played live... maybe 3 times in history...lol ... never performed exactly as the studio version which was the very best version... totally azz kickin song... but never ever played... I don't get it?
Was just thinking today of this song and James Dewar....some skinny Scottish guy who played bass guitar and wrapped his insanely soulful voice around the best rock/blues music to ever come out of the UK. Just a kid from the San Gabriel Valley near Los Angeles, I had every RT album and as a bass player I pretty much could blow James away in that department, but who cares? To this day I'm working on being half the singer he was before I die, and I've accepted that I'll never make it. God Bless All.
Thank you RobinBadMen for sharing this. Also thanks to my cousin Bernie. Who introduced this band to me when we were young and long-haired. Nobody moves me like this Man and his band. RIP James, Reg, Jack and keep groovin' Bill and Davey.
I watched the Last Waltz (the Band) last week, and I thought how much I liked the sad, bluesy voice of Rick Danko on tracks like Stagefright and It Makes no Difference, and I kept thinking that the feeling in his voice reminded me of James Dewar. Both have a voice that makes you feel sad and uplifted at the same time. Dewar's voice was the perfect partner for Trower's guitar.
THE EARLY TROWER BAND WAS PURE ROCK AND SOUL STYLE LOYALTY THEY WERE NO GREED TO SELL TROWER OUT TO ANYTHING LESS THAN HIS OWN MUSIC WITH DEWAR , LORDAN AND REG ISORDORE
I remember when this album came out... as if from nowhere. It felt like Robin said "I have this unreleased album from 73-74" and it became his next Masterpiece. And there'll never be another vocalist like James Dewar.

Debbie Foreman…you are so correct! The biggest problem with the R&RHOF is it’s a club of privileged narrow minded morons that do not think or look beyond themselves or their chosen inductees. A lot of times bands that never got recognition or proper promotion struggle for years paying their dues only to have the governing board members pick and choose who gets in the R&RHOF. James Dewar did excellent work with Lu Lu and the Lovers, Stone the Crows and Robin Trower. These 3 bands I just mentioned deserves to be enshrined in the R&RHOF. What do you think 🤔? David Page.
Last time I saw them was on this tour at Masonic Temple Theater in Detroit, just as good as 1st time right after Bridge of Sighs. In City Dreams was criminally under rated, the Album before this one. My Ex-Wife still has my collection of concert tee's, this Tour had a long sleeve shirt with band on front and tour dates on back. I always vied as a bootleg shirt due to misspelled Fury. Still one the Best Band's that played in Detroit.
I know one thing about this concert. This crowd aint nothing to the crowd at the Orange Show Features Bldg. in San Bernardino Ca. was. I know, I was 3' in front of Robins pedalboard and it was the first time I seen him. I was 23. it was loud n proud and bad azz to the bone....I still got the T-shirt in 2020. .....The roof about came off that place from the crowd....Those were the daze......;)
They were great!!!!!!!!!! Trower is unreal!! and I like James Dewar way more than Paul Rodgers for the guy that said that. Paul Rodgers is okay-really pretty good! but---I feel where James Dewar's influences are from. way more-just for starters>
I love the way James Dewar would change the sung melody just a touch "here or there", as compared to the studio version. He was quite creative like that. His soulful voice reminds me a bit of Paul Rodgers.
I will never understand why this amazing 3 piece band have still not been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame or should it be the Rock & Roll Hall of Shame. Robin would always be in tune on guitar live onstage unlike Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page who was a studio genius that just couldn't bring the same power live onstage.
Robin trower music was never the same when James Dewar left. I saw robin trower in 1993 and he sounded fantastic but it would have been better if James Dewar would have been there singing.
Yeah, James (Jimmy)?dewar, every bit the equal of Paul Rogers in that timber and styling, but more bluesy and a touch Ray Charles, Otis, and in certain songs stylings. Terribly underrated in his day, more appreciated today as music generally sucks and people go back for quality of bygone years and younger audiences and listener search and discover, they can feel his soul and fairly unique style captivating and compelling, still had it his last recording, “word for word” the song really grows on you.
James Dewar -One of the greatest vocalist ever.

This is a gem. Dewar is sorely missed. Not only as a phenomenal bassist, but the best soulful, rock vocalist ever.

Mind blowing
James Dewar should be on the top list of the best rock vocalists. I would say his vocal is in the same vein with Paul Rodgers.
I watched the Last Waltz (the Band) last week, and I thought how much I liked the sad, bluesy voice of Rick Danko on tracks like Stagefright and It Makes no Difference, and I kept thinking that the feeling in his voice reminded me of James Dewar.
