Karlach's 'That's *my* wizard.' was so sweet. Her and Shadowheart are pure besties with Gale and my Tav in my playthrough, and Gale and my Tav be happily married.
Lae'zel was kidnapped recently in my playthrough and I couldn't help but laugh. I know she isn't going to give Orin any of the satisfaction of being afraid of her 😂
Oh, this is so much scarier than the scene I first got, where she kidnapped Lae'zel from camp- like I knew right away that that wasn't her, she felt off from like the first line in, but this? This is basically consistent with Gale's usual speech and mannerisms, right until the end. I was romancing him too, this would have been right after we had that "you're enough, I love you just the way you are, you don't need to be a god to be worthy of me" conversation, so it even KIND OF MAKES SENSE for his thoughts to go from "I need to be more powerful and usurp the gods" to "actually I don't need all that power -> the gods are more powerful and they probably know better -> I may have made a mistake defying Mystra". Chilling, really. I wasn't in so much of a hurry in my own game, but that's because I was halfway expecting Lae'zel to just come back a few nights later waving Orin's spine and calling me a useless istik. But boy, had I gotten this scene, I would have fucking RAN to the temple double time.
Indeed, he's the eeriest one between the kidnapped companions options, Gale doesn't need to threaten you with a kid or scratch, the threat is him on his own.
I love how when Lae'zel gets kidnapped Astarion basically says that she's not trapped with Orin, Orin is trapped with Lae'zel because literally that was my thought.
Mine the little kid I helped got kidnapped. I thought the kid was Orin in disguise. Until one of my companions let me know. I was like… Shit… “I really do have to save her” lol
I replayed 4 times and each time she takes laezel , i think she goes for the person with lowest approval in your party and in my case its lazel cuz i hate her
@@Hiyorin871 IDK about that. For me on my last playthrough that would have been Gale. I think she takes the person with the highest approval outside your active party when she does it, but I am not sure about that either. For me she has mainly taken Lae, but once she took Halsin, but I had Lae in my party that game so IDK.
@@damienjohnson3450 hmm odd... at the time i was romancing halsin and he was in camp not in my party but orin still took laezel thats why i thought maybe she takes the one with lowest approval with her .
@@Hiyorin871 I've been looking into it, and it looks like Orin won't kidnap the companion you're in a relationship with. In my first playthrough, I was romancing Gale, and since I had Halsin and Lae'zel in my party, she was always taking Yenna, even if I left Gale in camp. Second playthrough, however, she took Gale on the first try, and I was romancing Astarion this time. I have seen her take companions that you previously romanced but have since broken up with. I think this is a decision from Larion as a lot of the romance arcs culminate in Act 3, and if your lover is kidnapped, you'd feel forced to rescue them, and if you take Orin's ultimatum of killing Gortash first, then you basically have to skip everything in Act 3 to go straight to the end game. Personally, I think the kidnapping is kinda random, but the idea that she takes the companion you have highest approval with outside of romancing may hold water. I'll have to investigate that when I do my next playthrough.
@@DZombieDragon to me is absolute opposite i hate laezrl very much so when I get her i just leave her in camp for the reminder of the game , she got kidnapped 4 times already i am on my 5th run now I will let you know if orin takes laezrl again , i just thought she takes someone u dont have much approval with cause of my own personal experience, i wonder if there is an actual formula for it or its just random and i got lucky orin kept kidnapping laezel
So sad that companion don’t have storage for dialogs. They talk only about latest news and I think I missed a lot of content. I think no one in my party reacted about kidnapping because was exploring the city and did not run to camp to investigate right away
@@DragonsDream yeah, but sometimes events combine. I just killed Gortash, Karlach went to camp, I followed her and decided to talk to everyone starting with Jahira. She commented on Karlach struggle but also had a new dialog about her ritual of timeless body. And after that everyone in the camp wanted to talk only about that ritual and forgot about Karlach. I would need to reload now to hear their thoughts
Probably something along the lines of "what happened to the wizard?" ... "HOW DARE ORIN TAKE MY WIZARD" or something similar to what Lae'zel said, since she already hates Orin so much
