    This car is for sale! One owner, covered only 95 000 KM (not miles) in 13 years, serviced in an official Audi dealership!

      Golf GTI mk5 has an EA113 engine, except 2009 USA GTI: it had EA888 from mk6. The same is true with TT, but not only in the USA: early 2.0 models had EA113 (including car from the video), while cars from 2009/2010 received EA888, except TTS. Scirocco mk3 had EA888 from the start, except Scirocco R.

    The 1,8 TFSI 118 KW pulls better than the 147 KW - 2. Litre one because it has less Turbo lag as it's a newer engine. The 2 Litre 155 KW and 169 KW are a different story.

    • @CertifiedCarLover
      @CertifiedCarLover  5 місяців тому +1

      @igorszopinski1822 I don't agree with you because 147 kW engine has a barely noticeable turbo lag. Golf R engine definitely has, but this one with a small turbo responds fast even at low rpm.

    • @igorszopinski1822
      @igorszopinski1822 5 місяців тому +1

      @@CertifiedCarLover Take a drive in the 1,8 TFSI 118 KW after 2012 you will feel the difference. The 2005 1,8 FSI Turbo and 2,0 FSI Turbo do not pull that hard. They more reliable however as since 2009 onwards the TFSI engines has major oil consumption issues which needed piston rings replacements. Apparently Audi addressed the problem in 2012 but those engines were still not as reliable as the 2005 engines.

    • @CertifiedCarLover
      @CertifiedCarLover  5 місяців тому +1

      @igorszopinski1822 I have a 2014 golf 6 GTI right now with the newer engine (EA888, CBFA). Very reliable and almost no oil consumption. 0,5 l per 10000 KM, so almost nothing. The turbo lag is barely noticeable. Every engine has flaws, some more, some less. I don’t expect VW group products to be super reliable, so I'm ok with that.

    • @igorszopinski1822
      @igorszopinski1822 5 місяців тому

      @@CertifiedCarLover hence you noticed the turbo kicks in quicker than on the 147 kw 2 litre version. Thats why the newer 1.8 T also pulls better than the 147 kw version because of the lesser turbo lag.

    • @CertifiedCarLover
      @CertifiedCarLover  5 місяців тому +1

      @@igorszopinski1822 I see that we can't agree on this topic, but maybe you driven more vw group cars than I did, so maybe you are totally right. But what is strange is that 2.0 EA113 and first gen EA888 have the same turbo. By looking at the power curve, i see that EA888 starts to punch at lower RPMs, so probably something else makes them less laggy.

    So interesting that this is seen as a woman's car in Europe but not so much in the U.S. All the better for me as it decreases the value making it more affordable for men and women in the U.S. I see this as a modern Karmann Ghia. I'm currently looking to buy a 1st generation with awd, manual, and 225 hp, which makes this a true sports car in my book but at a very reasonable price. These are only going to go up in value. ☺☺☺

    Would you recommend it over a Mazda MX-5 NC?

    • @CertifiedCarLover
      @CertifiedCarLover  Рік тому +2

      I think that TT and MX-5 are very different from each other. Audi TT has a lot of electronics, you sit in a quite expensive-feeling interior, while a Mazda MX-5 is more about having fun while driving in a bit raw-looking, very noisy cabin. I believe MX-5 is more of a driver's car than a TT, but the TT is more like a coupe for everyday. That's why for everyday use I would go with a TT, but if you have a second car or you live somewhere, where all roads are perfect and the weather is fantastic, get a MX-5. MX-5 has a low center of gravity, so it should drive better than TT.

    It's hilarious how he went from I don't like Audi's and the TT is just an A3/GTI designed for women to I think I want to buy one.😁 He started out trying to not admit he liked the looks, then when he sat inside you could already see him changing his mind. After driving it, he was no longer thinking of it as a A3/GTI or just a woman's car. 🤣

    • @CertifiedCarLover
      @CertifiedCarLover  Рік тому

      Well, I still think that it is A3/GTI in a different body, but it doesn't mean that it is bad. I just think that if you don't really care about the coupe body style, you should go with A3/GTI and save some money. But if someone is in love with TT's styling and wants something that looks a bit more special - TT is a good option for them.

    • @djdavejordan6498
      @djdavejordan6498 Рік тому +1

      @@CertifiedCarLover , I think it's more of a price thing. If an A3, GTI and TT were all the same price , most would probably pick TT. A lot of brands use the same parts/engines/chassis, but as we know things can be done to give each it's own character. I respect your opinion, just giving my 2 cents.
