And I liked how for the a1 especially, he compared base price, to the price with spec options that most people usually go for. Also, very interesting to make people aware that older cars can be much for fun to drive even though they may lack the tech in newer cars.
It's because of stupid insurance prices. I would have bought a C63/M5 but I was quoted a premium that was 30%+ the value of the car. I won't pay that out of pure morals *shrug emoji*. So that dampens demand.

I’d go for the S4. You get the most performance, beautiful interior and looks pretty much brand new and you won’t have to worry about repair/ maintenance too much just yet.
The R8 has the most performance whilst the Q7 is the most practical. Sometimes it's best to get one product for each purpose, other times it's fine to split the difference and make compromises to get the best of both worlds. The Short-Sedan S4 achieves that here, although I would've been partial to an RS3 for that long-hatch layout which gives good parking ability with ample interior for practicality and performance to put a smile on your dial. ....what I know most of all, is that the majority of the world is jealous of your market, used car prices, and access to all those parts and mechanics. You wouldn't (not should you) buy a luxury European Sports car if you live outside of North/West Europe and East-Coast USA. Not unless you can afford to do so. For most other markets, Toyota and Hyundai seem to be good options.

@eal1 I have quite a lot of used Audis around me in my family, friends group and all and there are no bad examples yet. Nothing more than a Bearing or a faulty sensor which kinda is to be expected with VW Group cars. So I cannot share that opinion, they seem to be quite reliable in my experience at least
@@Reeatorparents have had 6 Audis so far, a 2009 TT, 2015 A1, 2015 SQ5, 2018 A1, 2018/19 Q7 and a 2022 Q5. Only issue has been a recall for an iffy Bosch oil filter with the 2022 Q5 and 1 injector fault on the 2018/19 Q7. Very reliable (so far).
@Svannuta That is a lot, but, that inline 5 is so sweet it almost sounds exotic. Shame it's transversely mounted. They do hold value well though, even 10 year old decent ones costs 25k+.
It's even worse in my country. Choose whichever existing car you want and, then multiply the price by 3 and the mileage by 2 and you'll get how much it would cost here. (Technically it would be cheaper to import the car from let's say America and pay the transport + all the taxes at the border rather than buying it from here) What a time to be alive and a country to live in.💀💀💀
Ive got an S3 and absolutely love it!. Before i bought it, i realised that for the same price, i could have a Bentley Continental GT that was 6 year's older but then realised theres no way i could afford to run or repair it. Glad i went with the S3 anyway, had it 3 years now and its an amazing car! :")
Brilliant comparison - more with other makes please. One important factor was missed...the massive depreciation suffered when buying new. For example, the R8 is perhaps at the bottom of its depreciation curve - you could sell it a couple years later for pretty much what you bought it for (not factoring in unfortunate expensive repairs i.e.).
As someone who just went through this decision, I totally concur with your assessment. I had the option of a 2022 A4 and went with a 2018 S4 with 40K miles instead and I'm loving it. Price was similar in the end after adding a 3 year warranty. No buyer's remorse here! Another tick for the used car.

Approved is the best and safest way to buy in my opinion. In 2022 I got a BMW approved M140i Shadow Edition with just 23k on the clock for £24k. Sure it costs a lot to fuel and insure but when I sell it I can recoup alot of the money I paid for it. Not like PCP where you lose tons of money and have to keep paying forever.
i get that the digital dials are newer and such, but i prefer the look of analog dials - my e92 has a mix, the speedo and tacco are analog, with a middle digital panel and its a great combo IMO great video carwow
Yeah, you don't really need anything digital on the dials. All they need to do is tell you the speed, after all. My mum has a Ford Puma 2020 with analog dials and they're perfect for the job. I feel like the most egregious option is the capacitive buttons. Why would you pay extra to not properly feel the press of a button you're not looking at? I was already disappointed in capacitive buttons when I checked out the iPhone 7, which made the fingerprint home button capacitive, and most capacitive car buttons I've seen don't even come close to that one. A modern infotainment is a definite upgrade however. Especially if it has Android Auto and Apple Carplay, because that would prevent its eventual obsolescence for much longer than normal.

Dear Matt.. I owned an A4 and now a 2017 Q5 Over 100k miles. Very reliable. So much better than a new Nissan for sure. My point is, after devaluation, an used Audi is a better option than a used Mercedes or BMW. because I don’t run it like if I live in Germany. We don’t have high speed limits in California.
Audi in my opinion has some of the best timeless designs in the business. When I was in my 20's I saved up about 20k and bought 17 cars in 10 years with that money. All second hand. You can drive just about any brand car for that money if your willing to buy second hand. It is honestly something not enough people do, they just try and find the "perfect" car for the money instead of having some fun. Buy something and immediately resell it for +5~15% more than you bought it. At that price it will likely not sell quickly which is fine it gives you some time to enjoy the car. If you're a little bit technical there's some very easy things you can do to make your car more valuable as well. Take out that old 2001 radio and put in something aftermarket and you can easily get double you spend on it back. It's not like it's some rare collectable car that needs to stay 100% original. People that buy most of these cars actually will pay extra for it.
R8 easily. Yes, it's going to be more to keep going, but a manual R8 will never depreciate a penny. In fact, it'll probably gain enough value to make owning it effectively free.
Ownership might be free but day to day running costs will be through the roof. Bet the road tax is £700. Tyres are probably £1800 insurance won't be cheap. Mpg won't be great.
@respox2191 What about people that buy with 35% discount a new car, use it under warranty and practically no maintenance for 3 years and then sale it for 50% original price ? ;)
Loved watching this! Glad that you mentioned the cost of ownership (the fact that the older high mileage models can be expensive to maintain). A simple question would be if your car needs a new tyre, can you afford it? Like a new tyre on that old R8 vs an S4 or A6 or Q7.
Happy to see a video on used cars!! there are some HUGE deals out there. I just picked up a 2020 e-tron 55 Launch Edition Quattro with every UK factory option on the car, 31k miles driven, 3 years extended warranty, 5 years remaining on the battery. 2 free services and 1 MOT.. it was under £34,000 with £0 deposit, brand new it was £90,000 something!!! 90!!!!. What a machine it is! its like nothing i have ever driven before in terms on luxury and speed, adpative air susspection and RS6 orange brakes are outstanding. The car looks hardly driven, only wear slightly on the driver seats, small scratch on black plastic... thats it, likley business use. Its the best bits from A1-A8 in an SUV basically. Audi even got the alloys redone in black for me and gave it new tires, paint correction and ceramic coating. its much better than the Kia EV6 is replaces and cheaper as well! pretty fast at 408bhp tbh, 220 miles range, pretty decent, The e-tron does coasting on the motorway so you end up travceling say 4 miles, but use 1-2 miles range, Audi EV secret sauce! they call it something odd tho. Audi glide lol so I was told. Charged on a ultra rapid chargers in 19 mins flat! from 2%-87%. Tested recently, very fast charging car indeed. I charge at home, £5 or so to fully charge it.
@@Premiumsauce Maybe you reffering to the Q4 e-tron or standard e-tron 50?. e-tron SUV 55 and 55 S are verging 408 - 600bhp. EV6 GT Line S is only 321 BPH, GT Line is 200 something, their slow in comparrison and is like lego inside lol, the thing started to fall apart after 18 months (Kia warrenty is a joke BTW). EV6 GT is slightly faster that the e-tron 55 S. e-tron 55 Launch Edition is much better looking with black optics pack, no chrome at all, lowered with RS wheels on it. Kia EV6 just dosent have a look in,. I do like EV6 is blue though, shame the rest of the car is a shambles inside. If Kia done better ineriors I would go back.
I got the S4, first gen R8 for me next 😅 I’ve had the s3 and I’ve got the S4 as of now. It is a great motor. It’s a great all round car. And you can get 40mpg on the motorway! Which is not bad coming from a 3L petrol
@@redemptionx2918 I've had 2010 A3 diesel, 2016 Q3, 2013 A6 and currently have a 2013 A3 and 2018 SQ5. I want a S3 hatch, but not easily obtained in the states. I did just purchase another 13 A3 has a project car. Its in pieces in the garage. Love Audi but thinking 911 with my next purchase if I can't get a deal on a newer V10 R8.

The sound of the old 4.2L N/A V8 in that R8 is heaven ~~ same engine as in the old RS 4 and RS 5. It was phenomenal and listening to how high it revs is amazing 👏👏
Out of all of these tested, I'd pick none of these; I'd actually pick the other S3 that Matt pointed out briefly. £25,000 for the 67 plate S3 that was tested here feels quite steep for its age and mileage. The 19 plate S3 is still a decent age, has a lot less mileage and having the warranty helps a lot; you're spending a lot anyway so you may as well push further for those extra perks. And it's a more manageable balanced size over the other cars; I wouldn't mind the A6 Avant actually, but it's very big and the double touchscreen feature I'm not convinced with.
Worth noting for these that Audi offer a 2 year warranty and service plan for all main dealer serviced second hand Audi's for around £1000. This means both the S3 and S4 could have a warranty nearly as long as the A1 for the same price! I recently had this taken out on my S3!
@@shanginadildo Always! Fundamentally it covers the same stuff as the New car warranty (when you read the small print) so if you don't like the extended you wont like the new car one!... Maybe Audi isn't the brand for you!
I got a jetta V from 2006, and I couldn't be happier. great condition overall for me, and with the smallest ECU remap, I got 125+- VW horses that get the job done. Soundproofing is the best I've had, as with some of the quality of the materials inside. I absolutely couldn't care less for this every new year a new product thing, especially for the money. Sure, it helps to know where you're getting the car, and that could develop into a nightmare if you don't
I think they missed the used Audi to actually go for... 2018 SQ5... perfect mix of performance and practicality... just a quick as the S3/S4, with loads of space..
LOVE the video! It was super fun. Personally, I always go for 3-4 years old cars, which can often see something like 40% drop in price compared to the new one, but you still get a lot of life from them without the need for any major maintenance.
I had an exact S4 on lease, a great car, lovely interior with the Red leather massage seats. Engine sounded great and I got 40 mpg+ on the motorway (when driving like Miss Daisy). 2018 model with 12k miles which went to auction in 2020 after the lease and sold for 25K. Thats was a bargain for someone !! Got a RS3 after that which I sold for 4k profit. :-)

You could have gone for the new A1 40 competition, it’s 2.0 turbo and does 0-60 5.7secs, and 4.9 secs with a £400 tune. That only cost me £28k last year.
Running costs, Insurance, Brake pads/disks and other general wear and tear items plus of course the stupid price of 2nd hand cars these days wasn't really discussed. Carwow obviously have a glut of cars they cannot sell, hence this video.
Amazing video, really interesting to see. Would love for this series to continue with other brands as well. Reallly just goes to show the pros and cons of buying old vs new.

Great video, nice change. I'm a fan of high spec, high mileage A4s with quattro drive having had 3 over the years, and a quattro 20V coupe. Wouldn't ever buy new. Yes, you'll get a few bigger bills occasionally, but great build quality and value for money, and pride in keeping an older car in good nic
i have a 2009 A5 2.O tfsi and its a brilliant car! my first car being a motorcyclist since i were old enough but my god it's beautiful to drive, and you could fit about 7 people in the boot alone
Those little 3 cylinders are awful, feel like diesels. Had two different loaners with them recently and both were dreadful. The turbocharged one was worse than the non turbo, because the boost in 1st on the auto box was so unpredictable. Never knew if you were going to get no power or all the power it can make whenever you moved away.
The vibration of the 3 cylinder engine is not nice at all. I think it's worse than a diesel it feels very off balance. It seems to shake everything really vigorously.
It would be interesting to know what each of these would be worth after 3 years of ownership. I'd say the A1 would depreciate the most, followed by the A8, Q7, A6, S4 and then S3 in that order. I wouldn't be surprised if the R8 was still worth somewhere close to 30k after 3 years, especially if it's a manual and you look after it. That said, the A1 would definitely be the cheapest to run...
Really? In my experience smaller cars usually are the ones that depreciate the least. Looked at typical used prices for 2011 Audis with 150k kilometers: Audi A1: 7500 euro Audi A3: 7000 euro Audi A4: 7750 euro Audi A6: 8500 euro I was even surprised to see it myself but the A1s were even worth more than the A3s!
@@swecreations Ah, but you're not really making a fair comparison there as all of the cars you've compared are the same age. After 3 years the A4 will be 6 years old and the depreciation from years 3 to 6 are much less than from new to year 3. And that's the point, only the A1 is new and the biggest hit of depreciation will happen the day you drive it away from the dealer as a new car.
@@colinduncan1530 Well the depreciation will of course be highest in the beginning, but the A1 still wins out either way, for example if I take your example and buy a 30k 2020 3-year-old A4 it will only have 9 years until it reaches the prices above, while a 2023 brand-new Audi A1 will have 12 years.
awesome comparison...just have to be aware on the older cars of the following: timing chains, PCV valves that fail and mix coolant with the oil and you get a nasty beige mess and the oil filter will need to be changed and flushed by and experienced mechanic; suspension arms can fail/ cause knocking when turning left or right ( bushes get worn over time and can be just popped out, or changed completely ); wheel bearings - can cause the washing machine whooshing sound - these will need changing drive shaft - can fail and needs changing - wheel lockup/ stiff steering or none at all petrol filter - the actual fuel filter will be fine, but if there is condensation in the petrol filter, the engine will cut due to not enough fuel getting to the engine yes, I've had all a these, so know what issues you're gonna get with higher performance cars in this line up... but other than that, the cars are premium and well made and German engineering really comes through and is pretty reliable
It blows my mind how people would buy a newer budget car over a 10 year old perfectly good luxurious car. Without these people we would never get these bargains though
Makes me realize the great value my 2020 G20 was. 20 plate, bought in March 21. 9000mi, 320i, loaded with extras, HUD, Harman Kardon. Paid £27500 for it at BMW. Crazy.

First time I ever react to a video on UA-cam… I see a lot of Mat and carwow and this was the nicest i’ve seen so far. What i would like added to it are the costs of having it in GB. Taxe and insurance etc. I’m from the Netherlands and we have very high ownercosts (also a comparisation between countries would be cool content I would love to watch). So, less dragraces, more comparisation old-new and other car related stuff and its gonna be perfect for me🙌🏼
The r8 surprises me tbh. So much in that interior is identical to my TT. Same seats, same steering wheel, similar dash, doors etc, would think they would've done more but the interior is near the same as a mk2 TT. I'm still gonna get one, by the time I do it'll most likely be 25k, pretty damn good deal for the car I dreamt of having as a kid, and imo still one of the most beautiful supercars to date. The new r8 looks ugly in comparison.
Be careful when buying a used Audi tho I had an s3 and it was amazing when it worked but I had issue after issue the dsg gearboxes are made of chocolate even ones with under 50k on them the clutch packs and the mech unit go and you’re looking at a couple of grand to sort it out. Then also the turbos are prone to failure.
I went this year for an Audi A8 D4 with a 4.2 liter FSI V8, which has 370 hp. Spend 20k EUR for it (I'm not British). MOT in a few weeks, hopefully it be reasonably fine.
I drive a A1 40TFSI. 200HP with an automatic gear box. Never driven such a fun little car. Got it 2020 for just 24000€, 1 year used. Best deal of my life lol

The UK used market is crazy if 30k gets you an 2018 S4 with 30k miles. A similar car with similar milage would cost around 55k in central Europe

Brilliant comparison - more with other makes please. One important factor was missed...the massive depreciation suffered when buying new. For example, the R8 is perhaps at the bottom of its depreciation curve - you could sell it a couple years later for pretty much what you bought it for (not factoring in unfortunate expensive repairs i.e.).
But you want to hard pass on the R8 at this price point, the regular maintenance on that car is very expensive at this price point

As someone who just went through this decision, I totally concur with your assessment. I had the option of a 2022 A4 and went with a 2018 S4 with 40K miles instead and I'm loving it. Price was similar in the end after adding a 3 year warranty.

Approved is the best and safest way to buy in my opinion. In 2022 I got a BMW approved M140i Shadow Edition with just 23k on the clock for £24k. Sure it costs a lot to fuel and insure but when I sell it I can recoup alot of the money I paid for it. Not like PCP where you lose tons of money and have to keep paying forever.

i get that the digital dials are newer and such, but i prefer the look of analog dials - my e92 has a mix, the speedo and tacco are analog, with a middle digital panel and its a great combo IMO

Yeah, you don't really need anything digital on the dials. All they need to do is tell you the speed, after all. My mum has a Ford Puma 2020 with analog dials and they're perfect for the job.
I feel like the most egregious option is the capacitive buttons. Why would you pay extra to not properly feel the press of a button you're not looking at? I was already disappointed in capacitive buttons when I checked out the iPhone 7, which made the fingerprint home button capacitive, and most capacitive car buttons I've seen don't even come close to that one.
A modern infotainment is a definite upgrade however. Especially if it has Android Auto and Apple Carplay, because that would prevent its eventual obsolescence for much longer than normal.
Yeah, I would never give up physical moving dials for a screen.
Idk I'll never go back to analogue speedo, reading digital display/number is so much faster, eyes back on the road way faster than an annoying dial.

My point is, after devaluation, an used Audi is a better option than a used Mercedes or BMW.
because I don’t run it like if I live in Germany. We don’t have high speed limits in California.
Audi in my opinion has some of the best timeless designs in the business.
When I was in my 20's I saved up about 20k and bought 17 cars in 10 years with that money. All second hand.
You can drive just about any brand car for that money if your willing to buy second hand. It is honestly something not enough people do, they just try and find the "perfect" car for the money instead of having some fun. Buy something and immediately resell it for +5~15% more than you bought it. At that price it will likely not sell quickly which is fine it gives you some time to enjoy the car.
If you're a little bit technical there's some very easy things you can do to make your car more valuable as well. Take out that old 2001 radio and put in something aftermarket and you can easily get double you spend on it back. It's not like it's some rare collectable car that needs to stay 100% original. People that buy most of these cars actually will pay extra for it.

Yeah if you get any problems. It can cost a lot. Plus road tax, petrol, etc.
Dont forget insurance. Super cars are very hard to get insurance for reasonable prices.

R8 easily. Yes, it's going to be more to keep going, but a manual R8 will never depreciate a penny. In fact, it'll probably gain enough value to make owning it effectively free.
Ownership might be free but day to day running costs will be through the roof. Bet the road tax is £700. Tyres are probably £1800 insurance won't be cheap. Mpg won't be great.
I have a V10 6MT in the states. Tires are $1500, and registration is $1000 a year yes, but to me, totally worth it@@chrishart8548

Loved watching this! Glad that you mentioned the cost of ownership (the fact that the older high mileage models can be expensive to maintain). A simple question would be if your car needs a new tyre, can you afford it? Like a new tyre on that old R8 vs an S4 or A6 or Q7.

Happy to see a video on used cars!! there are some HUGE deals out there. I just picked up a 2020 e-tron 55 Launch Edition Quattro with every UK factory option on the car, 31k miles driven, 3 years extended warranty, 5 years remaining on the battery. 2 free services and 1 MOT.. it was under £34,000 with £0 deposit, brand new it was £90,000 something!!! 90!!!!. What a machine it is! its like nothing i have ever driven before in terms on luxury and speed, adpative air susspection and RS6 orange brakes are outstanding. The car looks hardly driven, only wear slightly on the driver seats, small scratch on black plastic... thats it, likley business use. Its the best bits from A1-A8 in an SUV basically. Audi even got the alloys redone in black for me and gave it new tires, paint correction and ceramic coating. its much better than the Kia EV6 is replaces and cheaper as well! pretty fast at 408bhp tbh, 220 miles range, pretty decent, The e-tron does coasting on the motorway so you end up travceling say 4 miles, but use 1-2 miles range, Audi EV secret sauce! they call it something odd tho. Audi glide lol so I was told. Charged on a ultra rapid chargers in 19 mins flat! from 2%-87%. Tested recently, very fast charging car indeed. I charge at home, £5 or so to fully charge it.
EV6 much better looking imo and faster to boot. Sounds like you downgraded but did for a good finance deal. Enjoy your new car 👍
@@Premiumsauce Maybe you reffering to the Q4 e-tron or standard e-tron 50?. e-tron SUV 55 and 55 S are verging 408 - 600bhp. EV6 GT Line S is only 321 BPH, GT Line is 200 something, their slow in comparrison and is like lego inside lol, the thing started to fall apart after 18 months (Kia warrenty is a joke BTW). EV6 GT is slightly faster that the e-tron 55 S. e-tron 55 Launch Edition is much better looking with black optics pack, no chrome at all, lowered with RS wheels on it. Kia EV6 just dosent have a look in,. I do like EV6 is blue though, shame the rest of the car is a shambles inside. If Kia done better ineriors I would go back.

I got the S4, first gen R8 for me next 😅 I’ve had the s3 and I’ve got the S4 as of now. It is a great motor. It’s a great all round car. And you can get 40mpg on the motorway! Which is not bad coming from a 3L petrol

I did just purchase another 13 A3 has a project car. Its in pieces in the garage. Love Audi but thinking 911 with my next purchase if I can't get a deal on a newer V10 R8.

The sound of the old 4.2L N/A V8 in that R8 is heaven ~~ same engine as in the old RS 4 and RS 5. It was phenomenal and listening to how high it revs is amazing 👏👏
Out of all of these tested, I'd pick none of these; I'd actually pick the other S3 that Matt pointed out briefly. £25,000 for the 67 plate S3 that was tested here feels quite steep for its age and mileage. The 19 plate S3 is still a decent age, has a lot less mileage and having the warranty helps a lot; you're spending a lot anyway so you may as well push further for those extra perks. And it's a more manageable balanced size over the other cars; I wouldn't mind the A6 Avant actually, but it's very big and the double touchscreen feature I'm not convinced with.
Worth noting for these that Audi offer a 2 year warranty and service plan for all main dealer serviced second hand Audi's for around £1000. This means both the S3 and S4 could have a warranty nearly as long as the A1 for the same price! I recently had this taken out on my S3!

I got a jetta V from 2006, and I couldn't be happier. great condition overall for me, and with the smallest ECU remap, I got 125+- VW horses that get the job done. Soundproofing is the best I've had, as with some of the quality of the materials inside. I absolutely couldn't care less for this every new year a new product thing, especially for the money. Sure, it helps to know where you're getting the car, and that could develop into a nightmare if you don't

LOVE the video! It was super fun. Personally, I always go for 3-4 years old cars, which can often see something like 40% drop in price compared to the new one, but you still get a lot of life from them without the need for any major maintenance.

I had an exact S4 on lease, a great car, lovely interior with the Red leather massage seats. Engine sounded great and I got 40 mpg+ on the motorway (when driving like Miss Daisy). 2018 model with 12k miles which went to auction in 2020 after the lease and sold for 25K. Thats was a bargain for someone !! Got a RS3 after that which I sold for 4k profit. :-)

Yes, you'll get a few bigger bills occasionally, but great build quality and value for money, and pride in keeping an older car in good nic
i have a 2009 A5 2.O tfsi and its a brilliant car! my first car being a motorcyclist since i were old enough but my god it's beautiful to drive, and you could fit about 7 people in the boot alone

Those little 3 cylinders are awful, feel like diesels. Had two different loaners with them recently and both were dreadful. The turbocharged one was worse than the non turbo, because the boost in 1st on the auto box was so unpredictable. Never knew if you were going to get no power or all the power it can make whenever you moved away.
My 1.0 TSI Ibiza was super smooth and punchy. Though I had it remapped to 140 BHP…
The vibration of the 3 cylinder engine is not nice at all. I think it's worse than a diesel it feels very off balance. It seems to shake everything really vigorously.

It would be interesting to know what each of these would be worth after 3 years of ownership. I'd say the A1 would depreciate the most, followed by the A8, Q7, A6, S4 and then S3 in that order. I wouldn't be surprised if the R8 was still worth somewhere close to 30k after 3 years, especially if it's a manual and you look after it. That said, the A1 would definitely be the cheapest to run...
Really? In my experience smaller cars usually are the ones that depreciate the least.
Looked at typical used prices for 2011 Audis with 150k kilometers:
Audi A1: 7500 euro
Audi A3: 7000 euro
Audi A4: 7750 euro
Audi A6: 8500 euro
I was even surprised to see it myself but the A1s were even worth more than the A3s!
@@swecreations Ah, but you're not really making a fair comparison there as all of the cars you've compared are the same age. After 3 years the A4 will be 6 years old and the depreciation from years 3 to 6 are much less than from new to year 3. And that's the point, only the A1 is new and the biggest hit of depreciation will happen the day you drive it away from the dealer as a new car.
@@colinduncan1530 Well the depreciation will of course be highest in the beginning, but the A1 still wins out either way, for example if I take your example and buy a 30k 2020 3-year-old A4 it will only have 9 years until it reaches the prices above, while a 2023 brand-new Audi A1 will have 12 years.

awesome comparison...just have to be aware on the older cars of the following: timing chains, PCV valves that fail and mix coolant with the oil and you get a nasty beige mess and the oil filter will need to be changed and flushed by and experienced mechanic; suspension arms can fail/ cause knocking when turning left or right ( bushes get worn over time and can be just popped out, or changed completely ); wheel bearings - can cause the washing machine whooshing sound - these will need changing
drive shaft - can fail and needs changing - wheel lockup/ stiff steering or none at all
petrol filter - the actual fuel filter will be fine, but if there is condensation in the petrol filter, the engine will cut due to not enough fuel getting to the engine
yes, I've had all a these, so know what issues you're gonna get with higher performance cars in this line up...
but other than that, the cars are premium and well made and German engineering really comes through and is pretty reliable

First time I ever react to a video on UA-cam… I see a lot of Mat and carwow and this was the nicest i’ve seen so far. What i would like added to it are the costs of having it in GB. Taxe and insurance etc. I’m from the Netherlands and we have very high ownercosts (also a comparisation between countries would be cool content I would love to watch). So, less dragraces, more comparisation old-new and other car related stuff and its gonna be perfect for me🙌🏼

The r8 surprises me tbh. So much in that interior is identical to my TT. Same seats, same steering wheel, similar dash, doors etc, would think they would've done more but the interior is near the same as a mk2 TT. I'm still gonna get one, by the time I do it'll most likely be 25k, pretty damn good deal for the car I dreamt of having as a kid, and imo still one of the most beautiful supercars to date. The new r8 looks ugly in comparison.

Be careful when buying a used Audi tho I had an s3 and it was amazing when it worked but I had issue after issue the dsg gearboxes are made of chocolate even ones with under 50k on them the clutch packs and the mech unit go and you’re looking at a couple of grand to sort it out. Then also the turbos are prone to failure.
I have an S4 and I absolutely love it. Would definitely choose it over the rest, especially the new A1.
I went this year for an Audi A8 D4 with a 4.2 liter FSI V8, which has 370 hp. Spend 20k EUR for it (I'm not British). MOT in a few weeks, hopefully it be reasonably fine.
