- I wanted to create a RAW chicken farm but everything I found was cooked chicken. It took me many failed attempts to make this work but finally, here it is.

i couldnt find a list of materials so here we go:
15 hoppers
2 chests
despener
magma block
slab
comperator
2 repeater
some redstone
some building blocks
Thanks for that. I probably should have included a list of materials
Good build and still works in 1.20.4 java. One tweak I did that you might want to try, place another slab with magma block on the front hopper. Some of the baby chickens will sneak through and grow up making a second killing chamber.
That's a great addition.
This 100% works on Bedrock edition. I suggest putting full blocks around the top hoppers as eggs collect between the fences and dispensers. Also, the game will become laggy around the area of the chickens.
Thanks for confirming this
I replaced one of the blocks trapping the baby chickens with a trapdoor, so they stay trapped and I can still use seeds on them to increase their growth rate. Thanks for the design!
Thats an awesome change thanks for the input
I've been testing out similar farms but using a different clock & that magma block may just be the ticket. It even gave me some new ideas.
That's awesome. Would love to see what you come up with
@@belandsigh I threw together one video going over two models I really like. I made two vids that includes your farm and how it morphed from there and a start to a build guide for my water slide model, but it seems pretty self explanatory and both videos need more work.
Thanks kind sir, like since the start because you wanted raw and not cooked!
You are more than welcome.
Had to slightly adjust the redstone for mine to work but this was super helpful, thanks!
Edit: scratch that, I just forgot to put a block behind the second repeater, that's why I I thought it didn't work anymore😂
Im glad this helped :)
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I rebuilt this because I wanted to move it near my butchers and I could NOT figure out why my dispenser wasn't dispensing! It works great now!
This is a simpler design than what I came up with, thanks for the tutorial!
You are welcome
Awesome video! You can use any block, not magma, they are dying from suffocation. You could use a lava source in that spot also if you wanted cooked chicken!
Also, you can fit 24 in one 1x1 spot. A 2x1 can hold 48 chickens. If you use any more egg producing chickens. The baby chickens might die before they reach adulthood, if more than 24 are on the slab, one dies. This is entity cramming. Like I could make an afk farm where things are killed by falling into 24 hopper minecarts. If that makes sense
Yeah that makes sense :D
Thank you so much! I had the same problem, Earned A Sub!!!
Glad I could help
Awesome build works great do you have builds for raw pork, beef, and mutton, that are afk aswell.
Unfortunately no I don't have one for raw pork but I could come up with something :)
Can i make the chests double in the front
Yeah absolutely. :D
how the items go up in chest that outside the cage?
I use a dropper elevator, there are heaps of tutorials for them on YT.
My chickens are growing up and being forced out of the chamber and walking around. Maybe this doesn't work anymore?
Is your chamber fully enclosed? Are you on Bedrock or Java?
@The Bel & Sigh Show Java and yeah it's enclosed :(
@@belandsigh So I killed off a bunch of the chickens above and it seems to be working now. I may have honestly just been over cramming the chamber. I'm sitting on around 9 full stacks of chicken atm.
That awesome. Glad to hear it
Doesn't the magma block cook the chicken?
No the beauty of it is it doesn't, it kills the chicken without cooking the meat
Actually it doesnt have to be a magma block. It could be any solid block. Theyre being killed by suffocation.
@@celestinapolicina7482 I didn't know this. I'll have to check it out
Does it work on bedrock
It was built on Java Edition and I don't have the bedrock edition sorry. If you try it out please let me know :)
This does unfortunately not seem to be working on Bedrock edition.
When the dispenser throws out the eggs, they don't seen to hatch...
Any ideas?
@@LallelundNetto I dont have access to the Bedrock edition but have you tried loading up the dispenser with eggs. Not all eggs will hatch when fired. Only some of them do
@@belandsigh I have tried different things and found a video on chancing the redstone and now it works for me.
@@LallelundNetto that's fantastic news
Hm... they dont die. Simply grow up and stay alive. Java 1.17.1
Do you have a slab under where the chickens spawn. If you dont have a slab they are not tall enough when they grow up to touch the magma block
@@belandsigh i do have. Looks like they dont die insta when they grow. I think they die when there is to much of them on spot but not becouse they grown and safocate....
