(Java edition) I had to remove the block under the egg dispenser to make it all work. The block somehow interrupted the signal making it not fire as intended. I tried with other blocks that can transfer electricity also. So the build is identical but a block less under egg dispenser.

Once you get enough chickens inside you need to replace the trapdoor on top or else the redstone will trigger the trapdoor to flip open and chickens will come out the top. So just stick glass over it to solve the issue.

Idk if this was said but If anyone is having problems with the trapdoor opening, just place a fence on top. You can still breed them while they can’t leave

Just made this on my survival single player hard world (xbox one) and it works great! It does take time for the chickens to grow up though, so I reccommend doing something like making a nice house build surrouding it so that you can be productive while waiting for the eggs to be laid and the chicks to grow up:)
I was finally able to earn the platinum trophy on PlayStation because of him. I built his iron farm to build the rails for the trophy.

Wanted to give a shout out and say thanks for the tutorial! Being new to Minecraft, the little details like explaining the eye of the Observer helped me understand it's the "red dot" that is the interface. Based on a few other "builds" I tried I had assumed it was the actual face, which would probably explain why some of those other build didn't work while yours actually worked! So thanks!
no the face detects block updates. the "eye" outputs a redstone signal

wow, what a simple fix. When my original farm didnt work I dont know why I didnt just think to put the lava in a dispenser myself. chickens jump too much for the last farm to be viable, you should put the update in the video title of the last one. I didn't realize why it wasnt working right away and i lost about an hour AFKing while testing, then I noticed it in your description. Thanks for the nice compact farm. :)

The only mod I'm making to your design is to make the whole chamber 2 blocks deep, so the chickens drop in, but can't jump out. 👌🏽

Hold on why can you open chest with glass on top of it?
Had to make a slight modification to get it working. I put both dispensers on top of each other and run the redstone onto the top one. The dispensers are both facing into the "chamber" where the cooking happens. This may be an issue for some with fire spread on, but I don't think so. It was the only way I could get the bottom dispenser to actually spit out the eggs!

One problem I have is now that I have a bunch of chickens producing eggs the lava sometimes stays in the farm instead of getting picked up
for some reason the chickens lay eggs then the egss fall out the sides and are outside the farm

Sometime the lava isn’t getting picked up. Then I only get one or two eggs dispensed at a time.

It is a good amount. Not sure if it'll fill the chest but you can keep feeding them and get more. My biggest problem is leaving and working on other areas. It doesn't produce if you aren't there. I build one of those at each major base.

I built your farm and follow all the instructions, standing in front of the farm I watch eggs poop out the right side off the farm any reason why that happens. Also all your farms are pretty badass they have helped me along

Works great! I also added a tiny chicken coupe/egg collector all attached to a water lift, sorter system, so the cooked chicken, plucked feathers & eggs all go into their own chests.
I've been using your previous chicken farms. Never had the issue this one is suposed to prevent. I do have another issue of baby chicks getting pelted with eggs which kills some of them before they grow into an adult. What is the sweet spot # of adult chickens to have? I currently have 40.
The disspenser which shoots eggs at other chamber just doesnt want to shoot eggs. it stacks them inside.
I know this is a year old but make sure you are using a dispenser not a dropper

@@jennaphm break the block UNDER egg dispenser (it can only handle eggs when they come in slowly too many they will jus sit in the dispenser)
Pro tip, you can remove the lava bucket and place a block above the slab of you want raw chicken for butchers or for smelting to get xp.
This doesn't seem to work (Bedrock 1.20.15). The chickens just hang out in the half-block high space.

Built this on PS4 Survival world tonight and it works. Yes..some eggs will be lost..maybe most? But it still generates feathers and cooked chicken. If you need a higher volume of feathers I would recommend building multiple. Otherwise hit the the mines for a couple days and see what you come home to.
Update: Now the chest is only collecting eggs. It seemed to function for an hour 2 and then stopped for some reason

Bedrock/Xbox One, 1.20.40 date Nov 5 2023, I built my own, followed your tut step by step, but my bottom dispenser is filling with eggs, not dispensing them. Everything is correct, per your video, does this mean this farm is Java only?
Edit: went back and added a redstone line to a repeater, which leads a redstone line to the bottom dispenser. Still requires a little manipulation but it dispenses now, one or two clicks, observer only triggers lava dispenser

@dick trickle it's a bit slow, but it always runs when you are near it. I dont know how much you would get in an hour, but I recommend that you build it next to an afk fishing farm, so you can ensure that the farm works, since you would have to be near the farm for it to work.
In this form it does not work. The dispenser does not activate. However, there is still useful information here. Using an observer to monitor a comparator to monitor a hopper is something I doubt I would have thought of. It can be made to work. Just route the redstone around the back with a repeater to the block below the dispenser.

mine works just fine its just its not very productive, i only get about 32 for 3 hours
My eggs keep piling up and the dispenser won't shoot them out once it gets full. I have to go and drop them in one by one. I have four chickens making eggs. Should I cut that down to 2? I removed the block underneath the egg dispenser per another comment but problem persists.

I’m having the same issue.
Replace the trapdoor with a slab, that issue was happening to me as well. I have had to make so many modifications to the one I finally got working because both of these farms didn't work for me either. I am wondering for the people who are saying it works for them what platform they are playing on because on Bedrock PC neither of them work. Or they are lying and said they really built it but didn't 😂 but like who would do that.

jc plays i need ur help, i am java edtion 1.17.1 and im getting so much more feathers then chicken, is there any way i can make the chiken farm faster no matter what the cost.
When I place the observer under the temporary block the arrow never comes out like you have it on your video.
I tried different possible angle and it's not getting the arrow heads point down to the side of the block.
Any advice?

A few tips to get this to work as its working for me on 1.17 vanilla server:
1. Empty the dispensers and hoppers. Don't force feed it eggs. Let the chickens do it naturally.
2. If you force too many chickens into the laying area, they'll die due to entity cramming (too many creatures in a one block space) which causes feathers and raw chicken to come out. To fix this, you simply need to empty the system and wait. Eventually the chickens will stop dying and just lay eggs thru the system. Then the babies will appear in the killing chamber, grow up, and eventually die giving you the cooked chicken and feathers. Just be patient and work thru the bugs and it'll work out fine.

I'm having a problem right now. The dispenser isnt shooting the eggs into the "killing chamber". Do you have a tip to fix that? I've triple checked the redstone.

Re route the dispenser to shoot back into the chicken cage. This way you can make your farm way more efficient. When it has enough chickens turn it back to normal.

I’m previous designs in farms like these I have run into problems where when one chicken grows up all the other baby’s that are in the area die. Is that the case with this one too?
Yeah, I had all kinds of problems with this and other similar farms. Especially, with the drops being burned up by the lava. After a lot of searching I eventually found a design that solves all these problems, even produces a lot more chicken than this and is more compact. I can't include the link here, but you can find it easily be searching for "space monkey best cooked chicken farm"

thanks for the tutorial i appreciate it. my current farm is just a pit with chickens and a hope and i have to kill the manually and throw eggs manually. i hope to upgrade as it seems i can upgrade pretty while keeping all my chickens that i have. its a lot cause there is no entity cramming and i thought i would just throw eggs until they entity cram.

Hey JC Playz, my realm with my friends is filled with your farms and they have all helped us up so much thanks. I have a video idea for you that I'd personally be interested in making and i'm sure many others would also be interested in adding this to their worlds also. So here it is, I'm not expecting this to be an easy build but it would be amazing if you could make an AFK farm that has multiple farms inside of it that provide food. Such as an automatic cooked chicken farm, an automatic melon farm, and other automatic food farms that all hook up to the same set of chests making a mega farm. If you do this (I'm not expecting you to no worries) maybe you could call it the ultimate food machine haha. This is for bedrock by the way, thanks for all you do to the bedrock community.

Done red stone correctly, every time the egg gets pushed through to the lava part the lava burns it before it can hatch.

Remember that a egg only has about a 1 in 8 chance to spawn a chicken
Here a tip for you people, if you reace the lava dispenser with a piston and powder snow in 1.17, you can get raw chicken. It's really only useful if you want to trade with a butcher but whatever.
For some reason my observer isn't facing the same way as yours and I'm doing the exact same thing as you did but overall amazing job keep up the good work!

the farm is goated. it might be bad when you make it but once you get a lot of chickens this farm is absolutely phenomenal. i recommend making this near your base or somewhere your near often, i have 2 farms of this in my base and i get about a stack an hour when i’m near, another great place to put is near a farm, i’m planning to make this in jc’s creeper farm, and about 2 times a week i’m afk overnight and not only do i get dozens of stacks of gunpowder, i get cooked chicken. hope this helps!
a stack an hour??? i only got 2 cooked chicken and 2 feathers in 50 minutes. standing right in front of the machine. not sure what's not working?
