While I'm a fan of many project car channels, It's amazing that Samcrac has done 3-4 projects fully completed in the same time Tavarish has nearly finished 1. Yet this channel has fewer subs! Keep it up Samcrac!!
Tavarish is cool, but Sam deserves a LOT more subs/views. Just a perfect blend of tech, charm, humor, and advice. I also enjoy Goonzsquad, they have really developed their builds. Sam should do a cross over video with Goonzsquad and Tavarish
All three of you morons, plus the 19 that liked your post are equally stupid. Tarvish Lambo had a series of problems. Sam is just doing repairs. In the case of the R7 he got a sponsored exhaust for it Same with the R8. Plus the R7 came modified already he didn't do it. All his other cars are stock this takes less time to deal with. Lambos don't come turbocharged so unless you got a UR or some other well known kit you will have problems. Also whatever happen with the previous owner to break the automatic top on Tav's car is what is really keeping that project from being finished. I suggest all you unsub from his channel now because when he starts the manual trans conversion of the SL that will make the Lambo project look tame.

Do a headlight conversion, the 996 headlights are one of the reasons why the 996 was a huge failure back when it came out, also change the dreaded IMS bearing, its a cheap fix.
A headlight conversion is too expensive on a car with perfectly fine front fenders and headlights. If the IMS hasn't been done in 18 years and 100k+ miles, it's fine. It's a $4000 car.
You do know that the 996 is commonly known as the best selling 911 of all time right? Please fact check yourself, it’s only more recently that “Porsche Enthusiasts” criticize the kidney light look, and their criticism has nothing to do with why it’s so cheap. It’s the “cheapest” 911 to buy because it’s the most abundant one in the used car market. Quantity hurts demand, which hurts price.
Vladimir Popik Might have sold well, doesn’t mean anybody wants it now. A similar 993 will command twice the money at least. The demands not there not because they sold well but because nobody wants them, they’d rather a 997 or 993. The only 996’s that sell well are not base models. The GT’s fetch top dollar in any 911 model. The 996 turbo is now fast becoming a classic.
this video and your enthusiasm help me a bit. I've recently had a small crash, and, since i'm emotionally invested in my car, i feel anxiety if my car will be fixed properly by the mechanic (i can't do it myself). But your projects are sometimes in much worse shape, yet that is no problem at all for you. Your approach helps me believe my car will be ok as well.
That 911 was sitting about 10 minutes from my house! That is actually awesome, I saw it about 2 months ago thinking "This would make an awesome Samcrac project" and lo' and behold, you bought it.
Front radiators are a very easy fix on these. Replace with a pair of csf radiators if you’re going for a little bit more robust cooling for the car. A ims and rear main seal are also easy-ish fixes. Dude home run on this! Best of luck!
I have a 99 and I love it. It looks like someone installed an aftermarket console delete kit. The 99 through 2001 did not come with a glovebox. The good news on your 2001 is that there is a reasonable chance it came with the earlier duel row IMS bearing, which is much more robust. One recommendation is to do an oil change and check the oil filter for particulates before you dump a lot of money in it. Engine rebuilds are about 20k give or take. Rennlist is a great resource for information on your 996 model 911.
Ok, from that start i can tell you a few things. You will need a new Y lead and starter motor very soon. Once the engine heats up the cable gets heat soaked and the start wont kick properly. On the 996, never push down on the hood from the emblem, they end up bending and the rubber seal behind retracts. Push down from in front of the symbol. The center is what they call the GT3 console mod. They remove that middle section where the cd holder and so forth would sit. This generally adds more leg room for tall people. I really love the 996's, with some work that would be an awesome car.
I love that you still have excitement in your voice when you do your walk thru. I do this same thing without the camera and am laughing with excitement the whole time. We both love doing this!
This is why I watch your videos. Putting $10,000 into this would still give you a great car for a great price. And if there are no bad surprises you will spend less than that.
It would need $10k minimum in engine work on top of everything else to even be considered decent ownership proposition, which makes it a terrible buy considering the damage. These cars have very serious failures on a routine basis. Worth researching if you are interested in ever owning one. There are multiple issues with various models of Porsche which of course, were flatly denied by Porsche themselves.....
He buys a salvage car for $4k and it has a half full tank of fuel ... I buy a used car at a dealer for 17k €uros and the fuel light is on ... USA vs EU.
@@jdub229r would that be a "thanks" to the Saudis, to fraking, or due to low fuel tax rates? .. anywayz, here we tend to compensate for high fuel prices by buying efficient turbocharged diesel engines. If you find the center console you can pull the CD holder out and install a double din radio/nav. Dont worry about the IMS bearing, if it's made it this long it's either A) been done or B) is not prone to failure.
Good find! I had purchased a 911 Targa Convertible for $2500 and rebuilt it.(i am a body man) I drove it for 5 years and sold it for $10k (It was a 68 model)
This is no 68 911 this is a 996. The cheapest, least desirable ugliest Porsche . Looks like a Ford Taurus. My friend has a 67S Targa, and it’s worth about 200k. We have a 996, and also early 911s. No comparison between the two.
Hey Sammy I have been working on por-sches for well over 900 years give or take a zero. And the coolant leak is BC the headlights are not installed, the uneven idle is BC the flux capacitor is outta wack and the chickens are clearly aftermarket possibly Chinese.
Andrew Clelland I don’t use radios I have an iPod installed into my brain... I never use the blasted thing because it only has one song... Rockstar by Nickelback.
Well guys it's like this if the Chickens are communist sympathizers we will have to put them into a re-education camp until they chirp the right message! We could install an F-1 engine to that flux capacitor & bingo we'd be on our way to 1950 to see the old commies in action! Wouldn't have to worry about coolant cus sonar ports could be installed in the headlight openings and the coolant leak would be fixed!
Also, the Porsche-files of the world will tell you to NEVER use the frunk badge for closing. It’s made of softer metal and the two pins can be easily broken after multiple uses ....
Fantastic buy Sam, looks like very minimal repairs required! Can’t wait to see the following vids. Love Florida and can’t wait to go back soon. All the way from Ross on Wye, England 🏴
Center console delete: Some people did it for more leg room. Also, check the build sticker under the "frunk" for what options the car originally shipped with (list of codes). You got a 3-spoke steering wheel which is awesome!
Before you spend any cash on it, check to see if the join between engine and gearbox is wet. There is a common issue with the IMS bearing and the rear main seal. The 996 bearing is an external bearing so not that hard to do once the box is off and the RMS is also easy but if the bearing has not been done in a while and the oil changes have not been done ahead of time, the bearing failure gives no warning and is a full engine rebuild. Also check for bore score. Cylinder 6 is the usual culprit as it is furthest from the water pump.
I have a 2001 Boxster S, and it is amazing to see how many parts they share. They are nearly identical cars. My engine is 3.2 and yours is 3.4, but on the other hand, my engine is actually in the right place.
Congrats in a good buy! The fluctuating idle will probably cure itself once you have fixed the leak in the cooling system; topped off the coolant and bled the air out. Idle air control is dependent on proper coolant level. Coolant is the first thing to check in fixing idling problems. You can fix most plastics with sodium acrylate (super glue) and baking soda. You can fix aluminum parts many times with Muggy Weld. That knowledge itself could save you money on fixing the cooling system. You may not need to replace the radiator.
Early models didn't come with glove box or cupholders. Centre console delete is what people call the gt3 look, just removes a few bits. IMS don't worry about unless its leaking, look for oil leaks by the gearbox input. Worth putting a camera in the spark plug holes to check for bore score.
4250$ is absolutely ridiculous for a 996- congratulations. Best sports car ever, rock solid structure, and easy to fix ( I already owned this model in the past ).Two hints : I would exchange the spark plugs. And have a look at the door compartments and check the space under the seats , maybe You find the rest of the radio ;)
Need to put it up in the air and look at the underside... weld in some structure to keep things straight and back it up tied to a tree and stretch it out - wear a neck brace :)
Nice that it came with the GT3 Console Delete! Gives extra room and a bit of an old school 911 look. Also, glove boxes made their appearance 2002 onward, which is why this one doesn't have one. There should a clip/holder under the steering column which is used to store the owner's manuals.
She probably just asks how much it’s going to bring in. I’d think by now he’s proved to his wife he’s got a viable thing going, between the sponsorships and ad rev he’s probably doing ok.
I was the first mechanic hired at Primal Porsche, founded just after the formation of the Solar System, so I've been working on Porsches for 4.65 billion years. And in all that time, the most important shop accessory you can have are chickens.
You can pull the stereo out and see which brand/model it is (there should be a sticker on it with that info). Then you can go on eBay and pick up a replacement faceplate super cheap. Just giving you an option .
This is very true. I bought a faceplate at the flea market for like a buck thinking I could put it on eBay and have an easy sale and whatever model it is wasn't even bringing ten bucks. If that radio is around the same age as the car it might be better off upgrading to something current with a USB port, all kinds of single DIN out there these days. I mean since I went to a thumb drive for tunes, my current van in three years I think I've used the CD player once and then only because I bought the CD out on the road and had to wait until I was home to port the music to the drive.
You know you got a steal when paying the truck driver gets payed 1/10 of the coast of the car 😂! Congrats on getting the 911! It’s a must- have for car collectors. They are just an iconic sports car!
For the front bumper, check the "Aero kit" body kit which was original option with the 996 model. The rear spoiler of it is not that nice though. (source: I worked at Porsche when that car was new). Also check the papers if the "Intermediate Shaft Bearing" has been replaced. For the idle surging, disconnect the MAF if that gives a clue.
The car looks like it was driven off road with all that mud that was on the front end. I would suggest getting it up in the air and really take a look at the bottom of the car, there might be a lot more damage to the car.
Sam, you don’t have to buy a brand new radio, you can just buy the missing face plate. Pull the radio to find out exactly what make and model it is and then you’ll know what corresponding face to buy. I bought mine from eBay for about $20
Please Sam, it’s been months already. It only takes a few minutes, but grab some glass cleaner and a razor blade and clean auction writing off the windows on the RS7.... I use steel wool but according to the “experts” online that’s a big no-no ...
Juan Carlos Dominguez because it works. 20+ year wholesale veteran here. EVERY car I’ve bought at auction (literally thousands) has had it window’s writing cleaned off with steel wool. The auctions supply it at the security/exit gate(s). A gentle rub gets off all the window “chalk” (more like wax). But detail freaks online scream “NOOOOOOO it will scratch !!” I’ve never looked that hard afterwards but I’ve never scratched one.
The two lights (abs and trac. Control) can easily be caused by a bad wheel speed sensor. May also be caused by a bad abs module (common issue, may throw bad right rear WSS code) Key fob - likely needs to be relearned Tranny - no idea Air ride - bad ride hight senor, causes it to default to normal. Fairly common issue. I am an technician at an audi/vw/porsche dealership.
@@Wodz30 well think about the other three to four projects that he has not even started yet plus samcrac would spend money if he had to but he just gets lucky way more often to get minor repairs. Come on we all know the Lamborghini has taken way longer to get to this point than it should have and it is because he took a break 2 to 3 times while workimg on it.
Congrats on the 996 Sam! VF Engineering makes a great supercharger kit for those cars. My plans are to make a poor man's GT3 out of a salvage 997 C2S soon. I'll be watching your progress closely.
Oh, and a neat update of the interior that can fetch some $ if you ever sell this, but otherwise make the car more usable today...down from the radio to the hump, you could fit in a LCD panel with modern functionality. Building an encasement out of epoxy isn't that complicated for something like this. Some elbow grease, a lick of paint, it would pop up the interior.
i expect this has been mention several times already! But I guess it's a Canadian car as everything is in metric? so it's 103,000KM? about 65,000 miles? The console delete is a GT3 option and it's rare, if factory. Fan could also be a resistor failure. Test it first before throwing parts at it. DO NOT close the frunk / hood by pressing the badge! This is a myth! you will, over time, just bend the metal. What's with all the red markings / arrows? has the insurance gone through the car and marked out all the damage for you? Handy! If it's actually 2001 (not just MY) then it's the very last of the 3.4 Don't change the IMS as it probably doesn't need it. Check the information from Hartech as they know what they are talking about, rather than "Some guy on the interweb" Get the O2 sensor readings (any OBD reader) to see why the idle is lumpy. There could be exhaust damage / leak causing it? Don't skimp.. a manual, blue 996.1 without a brown interior is a less common model. Would be worth more to the right buyer, but repairs will have to be done properly. awaits the flames..... :-D
The speedometer in KM/H and the temperature is displayed in Celsius. If it’s from Kentucky, it could have been a car from Canada, and wrecked in the US, or a used Canadian car imported into the US.
Do the IMS bearing only if it affects your enjoyment of the car. Stats are said to be 5-8% of cars affected, but they can fail over 100k. I recently did mine at 105k for peace of mind, drove the car for 11 years, 60k before that without really worrying about it ('02 C2). Of this generation, the 02-05 996 has a bigger motor and sexier headlights along with a few other nice features, they call them Gen II. You mentioned some of these cars don't have a sunroof-but I have yet to see a 996 without one, and I see sometimes a dozen of these a month at my stereo shop. Since 2000 or so. Great cars, lots of value there!
Wow Sam. What a great job on those Audi's. The cost. Nice. You have done some great work this year. The Porsche is going to be a piece of cake for you. But those 2 Audi's are just beautiful. Pizza cars and high performance cars. You are soon going to have to rename to SAMCRAC's GARAGE.
Thanks alot sam. I have a 99 911 that needs a donor body and you just jacked the prices up! LOL, you have much more work ahead of you with this car then you think. it will need a IMS and RMS for sure, that front frame work will need a lot more work then just a few hammer hits. that engine will also need to be checked for cracked heads. best of luck.
It would be so cool if he did a build with this car and modified it! This thing on coilovers, some fresh wheels and a wing, with a repaint and this car, would be ultra nice!
There's no cd holder/etc in front of the shifter because your 911 has a GT3 delete kit. Also, there's no glovebox because that came in 2003-04 models. I would strongly consider fixing the IMS bearing since the engine seems to be in healthy condition now. Looks like a great buy
@@jimmygrant3212 That's exactly the case. However, if you drive the car carefully clutch won't blow up on you. My car still has the original clutch and I drive pretty hard. No car is bulletproof. IMS issue is real but it isn't as widespread as everyone would make you think. I am thinking about a preventive clutch service early next year and a clutch upgrade, then I will replace the IMS since the clutch will go anyways. Spend the money, but kill two birds with one stone.
- The 996.1 with this shape headlight never had a glovebox. Only the 996.2 from 2001 had that. - You have the sports steering wheel, which is more desirable. - The missing lower centre console is another option, one which I myself will soon undertake. The previous driver may have been tall, in which case the lower centre console restricts leg room. It can be put back of course. - Given that the coolant liquid was leaking, there is a chance that the cylinders were damaged by over-heating, so make sure to do a boroscopy to check that out. - If the history of the engine is unknown, you may want to consider replacing the IMS bearing. These can go, and if they do go, they take the engine with them. It would cost $10k to put that right again. The cost of the replacement is about $1000, half of which is labour, if the clutch is being done anyway. It would cost more if nothing else is being done at the time. One way to see if anything is critical in this area is to do an oil change, remove the oil filter, cut it open and look for metal particles. There should be nearly none, and no large bits. These engines love to have regular, frequent oil changes, and to be driven, so don't let it stand, drive it. - The KM can be changed to Miles, but you are missing the 4th stalk, so the dealer would likely have to do it. I am not certain about this one. Have fun, these are great driving cars, light and accurate. I hope you have some nice twisties near you.

This is no 68 911 this is a 996. The cheapest, least desirable ugliest Porsche . Looks like a Ford Taurus. My friend has a 67S Targa, and it’s worth about 200k. We have a 996, and also early 911s. No comparison between the two.
Small observation, your 911 has a center console delete, just like a gt3! Pretty cool!
You can buy this as an OEM kit off the shelf
@@darrenit7498 Yes. I've seen a couple of times on the forum.
Hey Sammy I have been working on por-sches for well over 900 years give or take a zero. And the coolant leak is BC the headlights are not installed, the uneven idle is BC the flux capacitor is outta wack and the chickens are clearly aftermarket possibly Chinese.
That is some very sound advise, 10/10.
and you forgot that what looks like a radio without a head unit is in fact the radio 'delete' option so you can only listen to the glorious flat 6 :D
Andrew Clelland I don’t use radios I have an iPod installed into my brain... I never use the blasted thing because it only has one song... Rockstar by Nickelback.
@@d.mat.zero6525 oh iPod in the brain... my dream!
The world could start ending and Sam would be like no problem, we could fix that. Lool so laid back.
Samcrac if you pull the radio you could just buy a new faceplate if you know the model.
My dad had the same "MacGruber" Blaupunkt stereo in his 1982 Porsche 911 Targa. I love that movie!
Also, the Porsche-files of the world will tell you to NEVER use the frunk badge for closing. It’s made of softer metal and the two pins can be easily broken after multiple uses ....
This one just might become a keeper Sam. 911's have a way of making you fall in love with them. Can't wait to see this get rebuilt
He still has the RS7, R8 an the Vette lol doesnt look like he gets rid of anything
Hey Samcrac! You wouldn't have that problem with an aircooled 911! hahahaha
You will never get the air cooled Posh with 4 grands. But water cooled 911 -- more and more in the future.
Fantastic buy Sam, looks like very minimal repairs required! Can’t wait to see the following vids. Love Florida and can’t wait to go back soon. All the way from Ross on Wye, England 🏴
r10ngy81 fellow uk resident. I went last October...booked to go straight back in May!!!!
I really dig what this guy is doing hopefully we will see something AMG in the near future
I'M so glad about your purchase you sound really excited to rebuild the steel of a deal car.
Center console delete: Some people did it for more leg room.
Also, check the build sticker under the "frunk" for what options the car originally shipped with (list of codes). You got a 3-spoke steering wheel which is awesome!
Sam the 911 will be a cool build looking forward to the next video!
check for any hairline cracks,in the frame, they aren't always easy too spot
Before you spend any cash on it, check to see if the join between engine and gearbox is wet. There is a common issue with the IMS bearing and the rear main seal. The 996 bearing is an external bearing so not that hard to do once the box is off and the RMS is also easy but if the bearing has not been done in a while and the oil changes have not been done ahead of time, the bearing failure gives no warning and is a full engine rebuild. Also check for bore score. Cylinder 6 is the usual culprit as it is furthest from the water pump.
Tony Walters Came here to say this. Definitely check the IMS bearing.
I have a 2001 Boxster S, and it is amazing to see how many parts they share. They are nearly identical cars. My engine is 3.2 and yours is 3.4, but on the other hand, my engine is actually in the right place.
Damn it now i know why im having so many coolant issues... I forgot to feed my damn chickens...
I only came for the the chickens..

Bon Appetit..
they died when he ran over them in the 911, but they made a good chicken curry
They died when they drank that coolant
@@Wodz30 LOLling
Its official... Im a cracHead now.
Comments from the UA-cam mechanics are the best!
Rev up your engines 🚗
Need to put it up in the air and look at the underside... weld in some structure to keep things straight and back it up tied to a tree and stretch it out - wear a neck brace :)
Nice that it came with the GT3 Console Delete! Gives extra room and a bit of an old school 911 look. Also, glove boxes made their appearance 2002 onward, which is why this one doesn't have one. There should a clip/holder under the steering column which is used to store the owner's manuals.
Really looking forward to next videos of this car, I'm a huge Porsche fan! 😄
How to start your car:
1. Acquire chickens
2. Feed said chickens
3. Start vehicle
Wow
I always wondered what your wife says when you show up with another car.
"don't forget to feed the chickens or you'll be sleeping in one of your cars."
Probably 'thank god! I could do with a new... ' xD
"This car cost me 4,250 dollars. After paying for the delivery and bribing my wife it closer to 10 grand."
She probably just asks how much it’s going to bring in. I’d think by now he’s proved to his wife he’s got a viable thing going, between the sponsorships and ad rev he’s probably doing ok.
I mean by how much profit he makes off of them, hopefully nothing too mean.
I was the first mechanic hired at Primal Porsche, founded just after the formation of the Solar System, so I've been working on Porsches for 4.65 billion years. And in all that time, the most important shop accessory you can have are chickens.
One of the greatest videos I have seen in a while! Keep up
You got a great deal. You'd be in well under 10k for a manual 911.
I've been excited about all of your rebuilds but this one I really want to see how this ends up......bring on the videos sam
E. S. !
New sub because finally you bought a Porsche 911, thank you!!!!!! :)
Jay Why the hell use steel wool?
oh I just replace the windshield lol
Juan Carlos Dominguez because it works. 20+ year wholesale veteran here. EVERY car I’ve bought at auction (literally thousands) has had it window’s writing cleaned off with steel wool. The auctions supply it at the security/exit gate(s). A gentle rub gets off all the window “chalk” (more like wax). But detail freaks online scream “NOOOOOOO it will scratch !!” I’ve never looked that hard afterwards but I’ve never scratched one.
Jay Why steel wool seemed like overkill to me. Obviously you’d see if it scratched tho. Thanks for replying
well steel is softer than glass anyways, shouldnt be a problem.
Great looking car. When are you going to open up your used car dealership and repair shop?
That’s a very important step that most people don’t fully know about or even understand... I always feed my chickens before starting my car.
The two lights (abs and trac. Control) can easily be caused by a bad wheel speed sensor. May also be caused by a bad abs module (common issue, may throw bad right rear WSS code)
Key fob - likely needs to be relearned
Tranny - no idea
Air ride - bad ride hight senor, causes it to default to normal. Fairly common issue.
I am an technician at an audi/vw/porsche dealership.
samcrac: finishes car within a couple of weeks
Tavarish: finishes car in 1 year
To be fair...the repairs for Tavarish would cost wayyyyyyyy more. Let's compare apples to apples here
@@Wodz30 well think about the other three to four projects that he has not even started yet plus samcrac would spend money if he had to but he just gets lucky way more often to get minor repairs. Come on we all know the Lamborghini has taken way longer to get to this point than it should have and it is because he took a break 2 to 3 times while workimg on it.
Over a year and its still not finished. Just dodged together so it looks finished lol.

I said the same thing on his r8 video. I’ve just given up on tavarish, dudes a dick tease time waster.
Congrats on the 996 Sam! VF Engineering makes a great supercharger kit for those cars. My plans are to make a poor man's GT3 out of a salvage 997 C2S soon. I'll be watching your progress closely.
I'll have to check that out! Thanks!
@@Samcrac you're welcome brother. I'd like to see you swap those HRE wheels to the R8.
@@kenbeghtel7426 welp you got him now its getting boost lmao
Supercharging a 996 just doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Sort of a contradiction.
@@MrCarGuy Why? It increases horsepower. Next you'll say nitrous oxide doesn't belong on a Porsche.
8:40 What about that Domino's car, though? I want to know more about that.
Eric Seay yeah same here
Oh, and a neat update of the interior that can fetch some $ if you ever sell this, but otherwise make the car more usable today...down from the radio to the hump, you could fit in a LCD panel with modern functionality.
Handy!
If it's actually 2001 (not just MY) then it's the very last of the 3.4
Don't change the IMS as it probably doesn't need it. Check the information from Hartech as they know what they are talking about, rather than "Some guy on the interweb"
Get the O2 sensor readings (any OBD reader) to see why the idle is lumpy. There could be exhaust damage / leak causing it?
Don't skimp.. a manual, blue 996.1 without a brown interior is a less common model. Would be worth more to the right buyer, but repairs will have to be done properly.
awaits the flames..... :-D
MY 97 through 99 used double row IMS. Porsche started using single row IMS in MY 00 and 01 so it's a crap shoot.
Not sure where you get your info but as John said, its actually the early m96s that are the safest not the later ones.
@@ferakobv1 where did I say anything about which bearing was more or less susceptible to failure?
The odometer was in miles, it said "MI"
clusterfuck but the Speedo is in km/h. You can change the digital readout to either
The speedometer in KM/H and the temperature is displayed in Celsius. If it’s from Kentucky, it could have been a car from Canada, and wrecked in the US, or a used Canadian car imported into the US.
Samcrac you got the bargain of the century this I look forward to as always. Great work mate.
Really like the content You’ve been making Good luck with the Porsche!
911 is my dream car. Respect to you, Mr. Samcrac.

Awesome! I love the 996 911s. Really looking forward to the rebuild.

damn your channel has grown quite a bit since i started watching. Great videos!
in before the IMS bearing fails
There is a reason this is the most hated 911...
They fail in less than 5% of the cars. Mine has over 100k miles and not a peep from the IMS. Over-hyped $3K service.
Vracktal just change it when you do the clutch… that simple then again if you don’t it won’t have a problem anyways.
Spend the money, but kill two birds with one stone.
btw who said it didnt already and the previous owner didnt fix it
Love that he has been doing so many audis and stuff like that not many people do its all nissans and stuff like that
I own the Cabriolet version of the same car. You get that back in shape you won’t want to let it go. What a bargain!!
Looks like that’s a Canadian model, so that 100k might actually be only about 65,000 miles!
Please check your bearings. These 996 love to do bearing failures in the engine. One of the symptoms is idle up and down
Shakeel v
Well, nope. The one bearing which does go sometimes is the IMS bearing, but this has nothing to do with idle.
Awesome find! Your car collection is going German and I like it!
I joined copart because of you. No room or funds for a rebuild but the future is bright.

Really nice car ! Love paint and interior combination. Goodluck on it will be following this one for sure Haha.
