You know what I love about LCD soundsystem? How their music grows on you. You can listen to one of their songs and think it's the shittiest piece of music you've ever heard, then a month later you listen to it again, and it's decent, then you listen to it again after more time, and it's a masterpiece. It's strange how that always seems to happen with at least a few tracks on each record.
Totally, I didn't like American Dream at the beginning but it's a grower. LCD songs, like a wine, you have to let them air a bit.
Well I mean if you don't like it you don't like it. I personally think that it's a cool blend of electronic/disco inspired lyricism

i love the way he's mocking but same time he's not being cynical at all. he's so mediative. it'sa joke but thanks to it can get very deep without patronizing. it's brillant on so many levels!

This is undoubtedly the best of the new LCD Soundsystem releases. James Murphy is always at his best when ranting. Fucking groovy as fuck and clever too.

Also, did everyone seem to forget that the singles released for This is Happening were Drunk Girls, and Pow Pow, which ended up being the worst 2 songs on that album (while still great songs, they didn't have near the timelessness of Dance Yrself Clean and Home)

When LCD released singles from "This is Happening", I was like OH SNAP THEY'VE LOST IT! THEY'LL NEVER BE AS GREAT AS SOUND OF SILVER! After it released, and with every listen, it got stronger and stronger. Even "Drunk Girls" went from being annoying to genius. It's the power of LCD, that they have this subtlety and commentary that takes time to appreciate. Real love doesn't happen at first site (that's lust, folks), it takes time. I reckon American Dream will be no different, and this track seals it.

Blujitsu I thought it was the disc shop binquisition. I imagined a record shop with records taken from bins. It's so old, so surreal, so LCD to me. That image was LCD soundsytem to me.
Their chief weapon is surprise. Sarcasm and surprise. Their TWO weapons are sarcasm, and surprise, and ruthless inefficiency... I'll come in again.
