“You wanted the truth, and then you said you want proof. I guess you’re used to liars saying what they want.” That might be the best lyric in the LCD Soundsystem catalogue
I just discovered these guys like a week ago. Why have I not known about this? I have no idea, but that's the beauty of music. There's always something new out there, even if it's old.
Where have I been? Truly joining the LCD fandom late. Saw this concert last night and now can't get enough. Strong, original stuff with a warm hint of Ian Curtis every so often.
Impresionante.
This is what would happen if you mixed Kraftwerk, early Roxy Music and the first 2 Talking Heads albums together, and threw in a shot or two of Robert Fripp. Oddly hypnotic and it works. The rhythm is dense and the lyrics weird. And it draws you in. Quite a performance.
Each one that you have enlisted is much better than this. Keep in mind that i like LCD, but this song is nothins special. It could be done with 4 musicians and one keybord. not with the hole circus,
@@jacchernus867 Yep that's true technically, but The Whole Circus is a thing of beauty, majesty, grace, physical endeavour and stamina, intellect and faith combined. It's analogue, not digital. It's human and humane. It's People Making Music Together.
This song is a fuck you extravaganza to a label...y'all missed the point. Except you caramel. Shut up and enjoy everyone else. I mean he literal told y'all told you that in the song.
thats because they killed the original bass player and wrapped his skin around a hyper-real android designed to reproduce the recorded bass lines with 100% perfect accuracy
I think this band is simply brilliant. And calling them some kind of talking heads, b-52s, kraftwerks "hybrid" is unfair to their unique creativity and fundamentally inaccurate, as related to their process of how their final work appears. They've achieved something very unique in music, as it almost appears their compositions are created on the spot! There's no struggle to "compose" and layer and layer and finess ( ad nauseum). Their effort is virtually invisible. And in there lies their brilliance. If you've played and recorded as many years as I have, you already know how bogged down in details you can get in....and that is what saps the freshness and spontaneity out of the music.
I have to admit that I had seen/heard of LCDSS before but never really tuned them in...Solomun's mix of this song at his Tomorrowland set brought me here...and I am thankful for it!
Super concert! Is the full concert possible to buy or to download? Does someone know? I read somewhere the the full concert takes about 50 minutes. Thanks?

This song is full of phenomenal lyrics like that. Easily one of my top 3 songs by them.

I'd vote for "we both know it's an awful line, but it doesn't make it wrong."
@@jas_bataille that one's better. the first one can be interpreted wishfully to easily.
"This is how we do hits"
Perfect line.
I love it man, its almost as if a dad just got off the couch one day and started making hits. Its great.
A dad who quit teaching college English courses when he discovered the synthesizer
I hear that you quit college english courses and bought synthesizers
I hear that you sold your synthesizers and started college english courses

they don't really do hits.

I was so sad that they broke up after this album came out...really great stuff. So happy they're back
I came across this. But the singer looks like he has a lot of stories to tell. head bopping all the way from Australia! Much love!
He does! Check out this interview: ua-cam.com/video/yYCz06bS380/v-deo.html
Also, the documentary about their last concert (of their first incarnation), "Shut Up and Play The Hits" is amazing.
