I don't understand how his kids can be on his side when he just married Lori 2 weeks after their mom died. That's not normal. I feel like this whole family is messed up.

I am beside myself with Daybell's daughter saying that she's been in touch with Lori. Seventeen days after Tami died... regardless of the circumstances... Chad and Lori run off to get married in Hawaii. So the daughter has no problem being chummy with Lori and discussing her precious commissary money? So help me, these Daybell kids who will take the stand knowing the facts of this case, will be dishonoring their mother in the worst possible way.
I know people see Chad's kids as victims, but I find them disgusting. Either they knew what was going on, which I find possible or they choose to be blind.

People react in strange ways when their world is turned upside down. Mom is gone, and kids are clinging to what they can while they make sense of things. Give them time.

I feel the daughter has consciousness of her dads guilt . When he is talking about not coming back, and she goes along with it rather than saying something like “there’s no way” “you aren’t guilty of anything” or “why are their human remains here”. Like she had no questions and no defence for him- so bizarre.

Well he was now the sole breadwinner after Tammy died. He had no job, Lori had no job, it all falls in the only closest child to cover all the day to day financials. They had car payments, house payments, utilities. Lori’s commissary.
I love my father a lot, but not "cover up for my mother's murder" a lot.
I don't care what else you say, if my mother died suddenly, in her 50's, and my father got married less than 2 weeks later, please exhume her and do an autopsy.

I don't understand why the Daybell family didn't want an autopsy to find out the exact cause of death. If Tammy was having seizures, maybe it was from some toxin. It doesn't make sense they didn't want to know the cause of death.
The coroner/medical examiner should have over ruled the no PM - especially with no medical records.

@@cmoye58My brother was under Dr’s care for Copd and died of his last attack in the ambulance and they did an autopsy because it was an unattended death.Before he could be cremated the funeral home had to get approval from the Coroner.this was last month and I am still waiting to receive his remains. We found out his heart was just not strong enough to survive so many bad Copd attacks. They said each one weakens the heart. he’d not even had an attack in 6 months. He was on oxygen. My youngest brother died a year before from copd on hospice. He fell and broke his neck and they let him pass at home with hospice there. So it was an attended death.
He wants his daughter to get the money from the Hawaiian Bank and put his daughter on the mortgage, before the court puts a hold on them.
And for that very reason it is so bizarre that he was allowed to talk to his daughter while he was in the back of the squad car.... Especially while they are actively digging up the dead bodies in his backyard.... These Mormons I don't know😮

With some states, Peter, women as young as Tammy, dying suddenly like that, are always autopsied. That’s when they autopsy but also access her prior recent medical history. They aren’t just buried, taking the spouse’s testimony that she’d had previous ailments. Tammy was fit, healthy, and training for a run. 🏃♀️
The coroner was an elected official with no proper medical background too. I am amazed that is allowed.

Weirdest thing to me about the dash cam video is that the daughter is completely unphased that they are discussing plans for him to be gone basically for good and to have a defense. If you had no idea what was going on and if you had no idea there were actual dead bodies in your backyard I feel like you’d say “what? What are you talking about this is my house now? You’ll be out as soon as it’s all sorted out. Lori’s kids are missing, what does that have to do with you?” She’d been told they found a body in the yard, and she’s crying for him and talking about money. Wouldn’t you be in shock and asking “where are her kids? That couldn’t be her kids, could it?? Did she ever come to the yard without you?!!” You wouldn’t figure out money and then mention it so nonchalantly at the end of the conversation. Oh ps they said they did find a body back there. Prior plead not guilty in May to the original charge of battery with intent to commit a serious felony. The charge came after a 19-year-old Caldwell woman seeking employment and legal advice reported Prior attempted to sexually assault her in his building’s conference room. Prior’s attorney argued during the jury trial that the victim consented to the advances and took money from his office. The woman denied both claims.
I will never take Prior seriously because of these charges. He's a disgusting human being.

@@Nurse2639 I knew someone who started having seizures and didn't really do anything about it. They only took about half of the anti seizure meds and drank so much alcohol that I'm sure that's what caused them in the first place.

I have, for many, many years, had a 100% bad opinion of lawyers because of an awful experience my wife had with 2, in settling her parents very small estate. She got took and lost half of it, to them. I've hated all lawyers since, until I watched you. You are real, and the best I've ever seen.
I think it's basically a consequence of how powerful lawyers are. Some people go into the field bc they want that power for themselves and others become lawyers because they want to use that power to help others.
I agree. My son was severely injured in an accident and the lawyers got everything. My son can never work again and he’s destitute. I don’t know how personal injury attorneys can sleep at night.

Wow. Chad knew they found one body and they are looking for the other body. And the actions of Chad and his daughter is unbelievable. Had I been handcuffed in a police car, knowing cops found a child’s remains on my property, and they were looking for another one, and I knew I was innocent of anything, I’d be full of emotions: how did the kids get there? When? How can I help? And a conversation with my daughter would be totally different. I’d be freaking out (not knowing) and my daughter would never live in my house with dead bodies found in the yard. And he told his daughter “there’s nothing in the house.” My daughter would catch that, & would ask me what I know about the outside.
I feel like Lori refusing to place any blame on Chad is more indicative of Chad being the person who has a hold and influence on her, as opposed to her being the influence on him in the way that he is trying to claim (I think they are both vile and evil). It makes me think his kid might know what’s going on at that point . Did his daughter know that the two kids were missing at this point?? She can’t put two and two together?? His children’s lack of response is bizarre to me… I am thinking that they knew… how could they not know? they know the two kids are missing and the police officer says there’s human remains in the yard ! This is a clear example of why you should NOT talk at all after being arrested and before you see a lawyer. Just don't talk at all!! I'm glad he did in this case because if he did do this he needs to stay in prison forever!

I missed this live, dang it! Regarding your question around 15:00, I work on, research, and investigate a wrongful conviction case (several, in fact). In my research/investigation, I've learned a great deal about law, procedure, LE, many aspects of the entire process. When I started, I very quickly became, almost shocked at the fact that so many people, even and almost especially, speak to LE without asking for an attorney. In the last several years, as each of my grandchildren have reached an age that I think they can understand, I talk to them about how they need to be very careful about talking to LEO. I really don't like having to tell them, "don't talk to LEO's without an attorney OR demanding (respectfully) that they have their parent with them during questioning (where allowed). All of the wrongful conviction cases I cover and work on, the defendant did NOT ask for an attorney before talking with LE.
So, to answer your question, I don't find it strange that they have been reaching out to John Prior already. Especially in the Daybell case. They already know Lori has been arrested, so I would think it would only be logical that even IF Emma believes her dad is innocent of any and everything, I'm betting there have been many conversations with ALL of the Daybell kids about what to do if LEO approaches them.
As a juror, *knowing what I know* I don't find it odd. If I hade NO experience, I probably would raise an eyebrow.

I believe she worked with Julie Rowe for a while, possibly too the audio for her book (been a while so I can't recall exact role there). As an average person, with no businesses, I don’t have a lawyer. What happens to people who don’t have lawyers on retainment? I wouldn’t even have a clue as to who to hire or call if I got in trouble. Do they give u a public defender if u say…I wanna talk to a lawyer?
I believe public defenders are only assigned for criminal cases and you have to be in custody first? I feel I haven't seen them give a criminal defense lawyer till after questioning in custody pops up?
Initially you'll see the public defender just to help you post bond and hopefully get out of jail giving you time to arrange your own private lawyer should you wish.
And, if you don't make bail, there's a directory of criminal defense lawyers they provide you if you want a private lawyer and of course, the vast majority of those who don't post bail rely on family and friends to make arrangements for a private lawyer for yourself who pay the retainer and hire it for the person being held in jail.

For criminal cases, you will be assigned a public defender if you can’t afford a lawyer. And yes, it is always important to refuse to talk to LE without a lawyer present… even if that means having to sit in jail for a few days before you have an arraignment hearing and are assigned a public defender to represent you and your case.
Chad and The daughter show zero compassion and concern for the dead children being found on their property. Again, both are fully aware theres been an ongoing national search for the children and Lori is in jail for not producing them. Sickening!

I even incredibly asked him what his intentions were with my mother! I didnt just accept him even after 15 years. Chad's kids accepted Lori in about a week of their mothers death. So disrespectful imo.
But Lori immediately took all the Daybell kids to Disneyland (with Tammy's money), so of course they all accepted Lori with open arms.

At least 6 months prior to this second search warrant at Chad’s home , police in Rexburg called Chad and Lori “persons of interest” in Tammy’s suspicious death and in the missing children. They exhumed Tammy’s body in Dec. of 2019 and this video is from June, 2020. As a juror, I would not think it odd that he had a CD attorney relationship. I would find every other part of this conversation as evidence he knew what they would find and where they would find it

I think even though John Prior did a great job, the jury can’t unhear the conversation between Chad & Emma. I tried to pretend I didn’t know anything but the recording and what I feel like comes from it is they’re BOTH not shocked that the missing children are found buried in the backyard. And Chad seems resigned that he is caught. Which is chilling. Even though JP had great points- totally normal to speed up on a highway, be nervous when there’s a police search at your home, etc. IT IS NOT NORMAL to have dead children on your property. I would be devastated, I would be demanding answers, I would be shouting my innocence, I would be telling police anything and everything they wanted to know. I think though the testimony wasn’t a home run that Chad was acting guilty, the recording was the home run.
Addendum: Emma knew Lori is in jail for not producing her missing children. But she is so deep in denial and believing whatever story Chad and Lori have said about those kids’ whereabouts, she doesn’t immediately ask the police if the remains may be the children’s. I think the prosecution should bring up how easily Emma is led by Chad and Lori. She believes anything they tell her, trusts them completely.
I can't get his texts to Tammy about the giant raccoon out of my mind watching this video. He absolutely knew those kids were there. It's more than likely he helped put them there. He was cold about it in text and he's cold in this video.
More telling to me is his daughter's demeanor. Her mom is barely dead and she's acting like Lori's been there all her life instead. These two family groups and their friends were way off this plane of reality.
Both Chad and Lori manipulated each other for what they wanted most. Their families were secondary to their fantasy and they convinced each other they could make it real if only all the obstacles didn't exist. Equally guilty, but got there from different angles.
