Four acres is not a “farm”. It is a rural residential property for riding bikes and keeping ducks. A “farm” is 20+ acres with livestock or crops. I live on a 20acre farm, I have had smaller little properties- you can see disturbed ground on a flat 4 acre paddock.

So many things Chad said & did will undermine this convenient opening statement:
    1. Alex's previous "rescue and protect Lori" altercations were with Lori's husbands. It's believeable that a brother (Alex) might convince himself to rescue & protect his tiny sister (Lori) from a male, thats bigger & stronger. But it's unreasonable to think Alex could convince himself that she needed his rescue & protection from a female, (Tammy), and 2 children “JJ” & Tylee.
    2. Chad Daybells previous account of his wife, Tammys death, placed Chad right beside Tammy, in bed when he awoke to find her dead. Also he was predicting her short life to others before she died and spreading incorrect medical info to others suggesting Tammys was experiencing debilitating illnesses prior to her death.
    3. I still remember Chads voice when he took a call from Lori who was in jail (calling from a recorded line) and fibding Chad distracted; because investigators where currently scouring his yard in search of the missing kids. Plus an unusally long text from Chad needing to tell Tammy about his killing of a animal & burning it in the backyard fire pit - coincidently, it happened to be the same place where Tylee's chard body was found.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for covering this trial!!! I listened & followed Laurie Vallow (Daybell) trial & I am sooooo invested in this one!! Wow, opening statements for her was basically...thank you for paying your taxes so I can defend her and do my best when I know this looks really bad. Lori was adamant to her lawyers to not 'throw Chad under the bus'; fascinating that Chad throws Lori under the bus! Love Judge Boyce & I am doing my best to watch the live coverage (although hard to hear).

This is my question…Prior told the jury to decide a verdict based on facts and evidence and not speculation. But yet, he throws Alex Cox, a dead guy, under the bus with no ability to prove or disprove his involvement in these murders…isn’t that speculation? And, Prior said that the Gilbert police said Chad had no involvement in Charles’s murder. But I thought they didn’t charge Chad because there wasn’t enough evidence to get a conviction…that is totally different than not having anything to do with it.
