      @@alexisk360 he had sent summer out to hunt and warged into him. then they came across other wolves who had hunted and killed the men. so in that moment he didn't seem to think much about it, it was just available food to him. i don't recall anyone warning him not to do that (we learn about these taboos from another character). so he had no ill intent here. i think the danger is that it makes it harder to separate the human and the animal minds. after that he starts to spent more time warging into a raven so he can fly, which is something wargs are warned not to do to much. bran is losing the connection to the human world more and more and eating human flesh was one big step into that direction.

      I think people who believe George has an aversion for positive outcomes are the ones who aren't familiar with his writing. He himself said his ending will be bittersweet which means there will be tragedy but also hope and some degree of happiness.
      It seems as if he doesn't have in mind for any of the Starklings to complete their trainings that would make them to villains, but will rather turn against the darkness that has arisen inside them in some type of way. It is foreshadowed for Sansa to turn against Littlefinger, we know Arya is lying to the Faceless men and not actually losing her identity, Bran is in the middle of something, but considering that he is foreshadowed to be King and that George wanted him to be, we can imagine he will defeat or put aside the dark side of himself before it is too late. Not saying that a dark ending for him is impossible but a neutral or sweet ending is just as much possible at that point ^^

      It's Dumb show-only normies trying to explain Season 8
      This is not Bran's character at all.
      Sure he's skinchanging into Hodor as a way to feel whole again and trying to rationalize it despite knowing that it's totally wrong deep down. It's not right, but it's understandable.
      I think he will be confronted by this sooner or later and would be appalled by his own actions.
      However Bran loves Hodor and it says so explicitly in the books. At the Harvest feast at Winterfell, it was his duty to send choice dishes to some of the great Lords to show House Stark's gratitude, yet he sent one to Old Nan and Hodor, two _servants_ for _'no other reason than he loved them'_
      ["...The serving men brought every dish to Bran first, that he might take the lord’s portion if he chose.
      By the time they reached the ducks, he could eat no more. After that he nodded approval at each course in turn, and waved it away.
      If the dish smelled especially choice, he would send it to one of the lords on the dais, a gesture of friendship and favor that Maester Luwin told him he must make.
      He sent some salmon down to poor sad Lady Hornwood, the boar to the boisterous Umbers, a dish of goose-in-berries to Cley Cerwyn, and a huge lobster to Joseth the master of horse, who was neither lord nor guest, but had seen to Dancer’s training and made it possible for Bran to ride.
      _He sent sweets to Hodor and Old Nan as well, for no reason but he loved them_ ..."]
      When the Frey boys were mocking and teasing Hodor, it was Bran who leapt to his defense
      ["...Little Walder cast his splintered lance aside, spied Bran, and reined up.
      “Now there’s an ugly horse,” he said of Hodor.
      “Hodor’s no horse,” Bran said.
      “Hodor,” said Hodor.
      Big Walder trotted up to join his cousin.
      “Well, he’s not as _smart_ as a horse, that’s for certain.”
      A few of the White Harbor lads poked each other and laughed.
      “Hodor.” Beaming genially, Hodor looked from one Frey to the other, oblivious to their taunting. “Hodor hodor?”
      Little Walder’s mount whickered.
      “See, they’re talking to each other. Maybe hodor means ‘I love you’ in horse.”
      “You shut up, Frey.”
      Bran could feel his color rising.
      Little Walder spurred his horse closer, giving Hodor a bump that pushed him backward.
      “What will you do if I don’t?”
      “He’ll set his wolf on you, cousin,” warned Big Walder.
      “Let him. I always wanted a wolfskin cloak.”
      “Summer would tear your fat head off,” Bran said.
      Little Walder banged a mailed fist against his breastplate.
      “Does your wolf have steel teeth, to bite through plate and mail?”
      “Enough!” Maester Luwin’s voice cracked through the clangor of the yard as loud as a thunderclap. How much he had overheard, Bran could not say… but it was enough to anger him, clearly.
      “These threats are unseemly, and I’ll hear no more of them. Is this how you behave at the Twins, Walder Frey?”
      “If I want to.” Atop his courser, Little Walder gave Luwin a sullen glare, as if to say, _You are only a maester, who are you to reproach a Frey of the Crossing?_
      “Well, it is not how Lady Stark’s wards ought behave at Winterfell. What’s at the root of this?”
      The maester looked at each boy in turn.
      “One of you will tell me, I swear, or-”
      “We were having a jape with Hodor,” confessed Big Walder. “I am sorry if we offended Prince Bran. We only meant to be amusing.” He at least had the grace to look abashed.
      Little Walder only looked peevish. “And me,” he said. “I was only being amusing too.”
      The bald spot atop the maester’s head had turned red, Bran could see; if anything, Luwin was more angry than before.
      “A good lord comforts and protects the weak and helpless,” he told the Freys. “I will not have you making Hodor the butt of cruel jests, do you hear me? He’s a goodhearted lad, dutiful and obedient, which is more than I can say for either of you.”
      The maester wagged a finger at Little Walder. “And you will stay out of the godswood and away from those wolves, or answer for it.” Sleeves flapping, he turned on his heels, stalked off a few paces, and glanced back. “Bran. Come. Lord Wyman awaits.”
      “Hodor, go with the maester,” Bran commanded.
      “Hodor,” said Hodor. His long strides caught up with the maester’s furiously pumping legs on the steps of the Great Keep. Maester Luwin held the door open, and Bran hugged Hodor’s neck and ducked as they went through.
      “The Walders-” he began.
      “I’ll hear no more of that, it’s done.” Maester Luwin looked worn-out and frayed. “You were right to defend Hodor, but you should never have been there...."]
      Bran, book Bran is a sweet natured child and although his actions in skinchanging into Hodor is disturbing, I'm sure he'll have a major 'come to Jesus' moment about his treatment of Hodor.
      As yet he's just a child seeking for a sense of the normalcy he had before the Kingslayer threw him from that tower.
      What I don't get is people who probably never read the books saying that he'll freaking rape Meera. There is _literally nothing_ in his character to support that idea
      They're just salty about how the show ended and are looking to demonise him.
      They never understood this series or this author in the first place.

He, or at least his consciousness, can find ways to rule forever. Can he be trusted to help humanity... or does keeping the balance mean taking actions against human kind? With the Others gone - a symbolic representation of the natural elements threatening mankind - Bran now represents a new future - technology and singular consciousness. Terrifying outcome if you think about it.

    To me it would feel fitting to Brans character, who more and more becomes demanding and "king-like". He does seem to enjoy the power he now has and is clearly abusing it already. He doesn't seem to care all that much anymore what others think and GRRM does like stories of power corrupting people.
    We also have precedents of a person warging into a beast that was in heat, leading to a wolf orgy. Also, setting up those rules and then not breaking them at some point, does feel weird.
    As much as I hate this idea, it simply makes tonnes of sense given all the context. People always say "but Bran is just a boy", to which I say: Joffrey was a little boy too. Its not like kids cant be cruel and when given too much power and even encouragement by someone like the three eyed raven, we cant say for certain, that a sweet young boy wouldn't do that. Because Bran has stopped being a regular young child a long time ago.
    Maybe he will try it the nice way a few times, warging into Hodor and making advances, but when Meera rejects him (which would be pretty obvious and what she already did once in the books and that wasn't even a proper advance) he might not take no for an answer.
    Also, this might be the catalyst of him realising how much he has changed. I cant think that GRRM would write in something like this without some narrative reason. So maybe he does it, realises how fucked up and evil he has become and then dedicates himself to not be such an abomination. To be good. Which of course he never truly can be after that, but saving the world from certain doom would at least tip the scales of good vs bad in his favour. Kinda like Jaime.

There have always been parallels between bran and the night king. Its almost as if the night king seems to be targeting bran both north and south of the wall. The fact that bran seems to be able to travel through time and that the one who built the wall was bran the builder, who is also a stark that helped take down the night king in the past before his long slumber just makes me wonder about their connection. Besides, we can't rule out the possibility that the night king could've been a stark before the children of the forest turned him.

    • @Baalslegion07
      @Baalslegion07 Рік тому +15

      @@faisal5367 I feel like @erickarreola8851 made a bit of an overstatement. It is a part of the lore that the man who now is the three eyed raven, definitly isn't a good person. It is also geavily implied, that he had thousands of previous "Brans" that didn't make it. Jojen disappears and is nowhere to be found and suddenly Bran is served a weirwood paste, looking like blood and also tasting like it. Also, with not much food there, it isn't like they have much to make any sort of paste and Coldhands, who was definitly sent to them by Bryndon Rivers, the three eyed raven, already fed them human flesh. So it isn't much of a stretch to say, that Jojen was probably made into this paste, so that Bran could expand his greenseer powers.
      Bran already broke many of the taboos and is pretty cruel to Hodor. We haven't had the Hold the Door moment in the books, but GRRM already said, something similiar was coming. It is said, that Bran basicly takes over Hodor whenever he likes and when he does so, Hodors inner self already cowers like a whipped dog, not even fighting back anymore. Hodor is even afraid of Bran at this point.
      Another thing is, that he thinks about taking over Hodor to comfort Meera rather than just doing it as himself. Bran basicly uses Hodor as his legs and Summer for when he wants excitement and the thrill of the hunt. He ate humans as a wolf and also as a man. He basicly has overstepped every moral boundry one could have other than rape and malicious murder. So as described in this short, it isn't far off to assume that he might turn into a horrible person, guided by someone we know has no good intentions and only sees the bigger picture.
      So, while Bran isn't built up as the big bad of the whole series, it is very clear to see, that he is acting villainous. He gets less and less moral with every oassing day in that cavern and he abuses his power already. Just like Joffrey, who abused his powers when he became king, Bran abused his powers as soon as he got them. He couldn't care less about the realm at this point, he wants to be the three eyed raven, to be powerful and to do the things he wants.
      He clearly likes Meera, he is developing feelings for her and he himself cant really do much. But he can let other people do what he wants and experiences those things through them. So any variation of him warging intl someone to have sex with Meera, isn't far off at all. Although I find it not really unlikely, that he might warg into Meera, so that he can make her like him. Would fit Bran maybe a bit more, since Hodor raping her cant be what he desires. He probably wants her to love him and if he can make her say that and feel that, he could brainwash her or even control her during the whole ordeal. But if nothing works hips downwards, then the Hodor theory becomes viable again.
      All that said though, Bran clearly starts to develop some troubling characteristics

      oh I see. i'm not paying attention to the three taboos among wargs. then I wonder what are the implication and consequence for Bran already broken all three taboos? is he can become much stronger warg by going where other warg afraid to broke the boundaries? Yeah I agree Three Eyed Raven aka Bloodraven is very sus at Bran chapter, but what exactly his motive and goal we wouldnt know yet until WOW.
      I just realized that what Bran did to Hodor is the biggest of three taboos and its considered evil doing.
      Well, if what you said is true, then I think what Erika said is not entirely wrong, given Bran is clueless with the moral guide and ethic of his work (warging and stuff) and he got a mentor who's most likely a sinister one and guide him to a wrong path. IMO at the end Bran will be somewhat no less darker than other powerful figures who played the games, like Euron, Dany, Jon, and the Others themselves.@@Baalslegion07

      @@faisal5367 yeah, i too think, he'll end up somewhere dark. Maybe he'll be the king in the end, but as the king of the others. I truly cant see this kid rule kings landing as anything but an evil mage. And appearantly he will also be iing in the books... sooo yeah. Who knows if we ever get those books but to me, Bran is very unlikely to really become anything resembling something good. He has every chance to turn further to evil and no reasons not to do so.
      In regards to how him breaking taboos aids him: I dont think he knows about those taboos. He doesn't break them because breaking rules is cool, he does so, because he is either forced to do so, or because he can and noone can tell him not to do so. I think it definitly gives him an edge over other wargs, since he will be trained at abilities that thise other wargs font dare to train or even think of using. So while slme wargs might be pretty aweslme at warging birds or wolves, Bran will be very good at warging people, which in the end is much better. A beast might be strong, but imagine a zombie like the mountain being under Brans control, or maybe a horde if mindless servants! He could end up on the throne by simply warging into the king and ruling from that cave.
      Bran breaking thise raboos simoly lets him train abilities others with his magical prowess did not train. And tgat gives him an edge over other wargs and greenseers

      I will re read the books but _never_ got any big baddie vibe from his chapters. In the show though, he's psycho in the last 2 seasons and a half. GRRM writes grey characters that do bad things but can have a redemption. I think Bran will have that "dark side" moment, like Arya, like Tyrion (who's messed up in the books), like Theon, like Jaime, like The Hound... I don't think it's implied he'll be a villain.

      it's never said that anything specific happens. the danger with mating and eating probably has to do with the danger of becoming too connected to the animal mind which could affect ones behaviour as a human. similiar to the warning not to fly to long. controlling humans is probably forbidden because it is a horrific thing for the victim, but it might have other consequences for the mind.

    • @Kyle-nm1kh
      @Kyle-nm1kh Рік тому +3

      @NR-fd9wv I think those things will simply unlock newer power. Controlling a mind turns into controlling multiple minds and leading an army. Eating flesh turns into a taste for the kill and feeling superior. What was the 3rd one? Mating? Probably would spawn a monster baby or something.
      Anyway sounds a lot like a whitewalker to me

    • @NR-fd9wv
      @NR-fd9wv Рік тому +7

      @@Kyle-nm1kh varamyr sixskins does two of the three and tries the third (warging into a human), there are no hints that it has anything to do with white walkers. it is described that the mind of the warg and the animal affect each other, so they sort of melt together. it's even described that the mind of a deceased warg is still present in his animal, but fades over time. that also seems to happen when a warg gives in too much to the animal instincts. wargs are warned not to fly too much, it's described as being kind of addictive and it distances the warg from the human world. these taboos could have the same effect and the warg would literally lose his mind. after bran eats the humans, he soon starts to spent much more time flying as a raven. to me it seems that there is a ongoing process of bran becoming less human over time. i guess if you do that to humans, at some point you would lose your own identity, because you couldn't differentiate what is part of your mind and what is part of the others. if you were so powerful that you could constantly switch bodies and control others, you would basically just become some kind of demon who possesses others. i mean theoretically you could just jump from one body to the next forever and what would be left of you if you do that hundreds or thousands of years? there would be nothing left of who you once were

      @Kyle-nm1kh Рік тому

      @NR-fd9wv doesn't the main whitewalker guy control everything? In the show he controlled a dragon even. It's pretty similar to warging imo. Maybe it's a more ancient version. Maybe bran can be like that and become the next ice king. He is becoming less human after all

    Varamyr seems to think mating is better in female skin (prologue in ADWD) so maybe this takes even darker turn. Made me wonder if George will make something of it or is it just another of these george things. Worst idea that I had was Jon and Arya will have sex through Ghost and Nymeria, since George had planned romance for them two at first. Tho Stark kids direwolves know and feel each others as siblings, which probably means they wont. But it’s a bit interesting that Ghost is brother to other wolves yet Jon probably is not for Starks.

      I also thought, that its much more likely that he will take over Meera rather than that he forces himself on her as Hodor. He supposedly loves ger, so making her feel that love and having sex with hlmself as her, is more on brand for Bran. Its still fucked up, but slightly better, which at this point doesn't matter at all.

    Its a less than 0% chance the Hodor theory will happen. Bran is 11. His affection for Meera is a child's crush and nothing else.
    The theory that has legs tho, is that Bran will panic and warg into summer for some reeason and summer will be breeding with another wolf.
    This is still fucked up and Bran would lose any innocence he had left. But that would fit the themes of his story much better than him using hodor to rpe a teenager.

    FFS. I don't know how many times this has to be said: ***Bran DOES NOT HAVE ROMANTIC OR SEXUAL AFFECTION for Mira Reed!***
    In the books Bran is like 8 or 10 years old AT MOST. He's still a kid and he hasn't even gone through puberty.
    It's Hodor that has the crush on Mira, not Brandon Stark. When Bran mentioned being in Hodor's skin and wondering if Mira would be surprised if he told Mira that he loved her, it was Hodor's feelings about Mira he was going off of, not his.

    • @gerardjagroo
      @gerardjagroo 11 місяців тому +2

      I have another theory. Bran was thinking about Meera's grief over Jojen a lot and he became frustrated with his broken body and he wanted _to reach out_ to comfort her.
      Problem is, warging is also described as _a reaching out_ I think because he was thinking about it so much he accidentally slipped his skin and was beginning to warg into her.
      Which explains why she got up and left so fast as if something bit her.
      Bran needs to learn to become more careful in managing his power as has grown so powerful that his almost accidentally warging into people.
      Bran will be so OP in the endgame.
