To be honest, the original crash game on the Playstation IS the real nightmare. I don't own a PS4 and tried to play it and holy mother of god it's hard. If you die once in any level, you can't get the gem for breaking all the boxes. If you fail a bonus level, you just need to restart the entire level to do it again. And finally, you can only save after completing a bonus level or getting a gem. That remake doesn't seem to feature that at all, which makes it not as hard as the first game. However, it was a very frustrating feature and wish I could get the remake version instead. Crash Bandicoot Warped on the Playstation is my favourite.
That is true, but the platforming of the remastered version is harder because the jumps are faster and it is harder to land tricky jumps. This has been confirmed by both the devs and the players. While the original is harder in terms of having to do all the levels without dying, the remastered version is harder overall and the colored gems still need to be done without dying and they are the hardest level in the game anyway.

And In my case, I'm very good at all games, MMORPGs, fps, third person shooters, survivals, even with Dark Souls I didn't have many problems. But I completely suck at Crash Bandicoot type of games.
Platformers mostly don't have a lot of RNG and the maps are the same , so you can beat the game over and over with the exact same inputs. It just seems like a lot of people simply can't handle too many inputs/actions at the same time , running in one direction and jumping at the end of a ledge only requires one button held down and the other one pressed at the ledge , while you have to press more buttons in most other games.
doom yoshi that's the point enter the Gungeon is 1000X harder. You expect to beat the binding of Issac every game maybe not beat delirium but the hardest bosses are optional in The gungeon you don't even expect to reach the final boss.

@@patrik4827 it sure wasn't the best wtf. every bonus looks the same, almost every level is a side scroller, you can't obtain nearly any clear gem without having ALL colored gems, it is slow and sadistic and a regular level is as difficult as crash 3's future tense platinum relic ... i have played through crash 2 with 102% and crash 3 108% because i love them but for crash 1 i barely bet the final boss and just got 9 plat relics and 8 gems .. and i don't think i am gonna touch it again because i think it is unfair and frustrating. in 2 and 3 i had 0 game overs, in the first game i had over 20 just completing the story mode ...

Alpha when you get the mask on your stupid face you're invincible and break boxes by touching them. But you need to get three of those masks box things to get it.
That bridge levels...DAMN! And there're two of them! At first i was like "ok, hard but doable". Then i reached the end of the stage when you need to perform a sequence of continuous long jumps trying to land on a single piece of wood. I was like "WTF is that?" A million deaths later i started trying to land on the rope and pass the level that way. Still hard because while on the rope you have to walk in a perfectly straight line but still better than performing jumps.
I never played the first game, but I played the second and third ones. The difficulty is really eased up in those games, and the difficulty comes more from exploration. Also time trials. Somehow the time trials made it to the first game, so GOOD LUCK!

The difficulty of not dying for the gems got moved over to the Time Trials, except now you gotta speedrun those things, and it’s an actual nightmare
