Your wish has been granted.
i love the fact: Luigi, despite his fear, faces the ghosts. Peach having to be the heroine is still a sweet and gentle princess. in mario and luigi 3 rpg, bowser even appearing to be one of the protagonists was still the fearsome king koopa with his own reasons. I mean, regardless of the role, they do not lose their essence
Sweet and gentle is not how I would describe the scene where they saved mario but ok
To be fair, at least in the main series games, there's not much to go on for Peach outside of baking cakes, getting kidnapped and calling out to Mario. They could have made Peach secretly a biker, a punk girl or a metalhead and it would have fit, she doesn't have much characterization in most of the platformers to conflict with. All of what we know of her personality comes from the various RPGs and spin-off games... and this game.
Wouldnt exactly call her a heroine when she's a side character in her own game
and then they play sports together
And mario doesn't pay even a cent to Wario when he takes thw giant Peach statue from pirates in Wario land 1. What an arse
To be honest Peach has her emotions on comand. She isn't portrait as emotional but as a sociopath who uses her "emotions" as weapons to reach her goal.
That was such a stupid thing to say.

Isn't Peach literally just the one in perfect control of her emotions? Kinda the opposite of what he said at the beginning. Like the game shows her guards all unable to control their emotions at all, and Peach here is still in perfect control and able to use the amplified emotions to save Mario and everything else. Like, yeah you can make it misogynistic if you ignore the actual story entirely. They used emotion for her powers because that's just in line with the game itself. Like how the Vibe Scepter affects emotions, the only person seemingly unaffected by it is the princess who has perfect control of her emotions
The thing about it is that even if she’s in control, it’s still a game where the princess uses her hysterically intense emotions to achieve her goals. That was their decision for the ONE game Princess Peach headlines - to make the game revolve around her emotions.
@@Necroskull388 in pizza tower, Peppino uses his anxiety and anger to achieve his goals, whats wrong with that? if you want to actually see a character acting hysterical play that game instead

Yes, idk why alpha would go for the "woke" argument 💀
@@S4leaguer999 what?
@@hardi2217 ignore it. "Woke" is so overused by dipshits it has lost all meaning at this point.
I mean, there are some people that theorize it fits in with Japanese culture and the legends of Japanese deities. Kami, the four Mitama representing her different emotional states, among other things. Considering how much respect Nintendo's devs have said they have for Peach (since the mother is the cornerstone of the Japanese household), it makes some sense.
The vibe scepter is making everyone else emotional, but Peach has such good control of her emotions that she can use them to solve puzzles.
Everyone's already pointed out that Peach actually has control of her emotions, but I don't see anyone mention that Bowser's henchmen didn't screw up, the were told to take the entire kingdom, but Peach wasn't there.

This game has been criminally underrated for the longest time. My sister used to play the crap out of it as a kid
@breadandcircuses8127If your name is "No one", sure
I got this because I’m a girl and anyone in my family who bought me DS games as a gift would never buy me Mario stuff- but I was super happy with this game! I think maybe it’s purpose was to make it to the audience of young girls whose parents would most likely buy them this game instead of a Mario game. Getting to kick a bunch of enemies butts as Peach was entirely new to me, and it made me want to dress up as her for Halloween that year.
I still love the OST with the full reprise of Parry’s Backstory song being my favorite. The game is more similar to a Yoshi’s Island game which I think features a lot more creative puzzles and abilities than a typical Mario game.
(Also I’m not entirely sure, but I think using Peach’s emotions as powers was like… because Bowser was using the Scepter to throw everyone’s emotions out of wack, except Peach who had strong enough control over her emotions to not be affected by it. I *think* that was the game’s reason but I’m not sure, my point being that I don’t think it was really misogynistic)
I’ll always appreciate that I was one of the few people who played this game as a kid.
Agreed, I don't think it was misogynistic either.
Even the final koopa guard poking fun at Peach for making it this far. The same thing could've been said if it was Luigi so there's that too.
I loved this game as a kid! I always really liked peach and I was so excited to play as her :D
It’s a bit misogynic in that it’s a…VERY common trope to make women’s powers (if they have them) be Emotion Based. But it’s not the same as “women soooo hysterical~” since like. She uses it on her terms. It’s just tonedeaf.
Like, if they just gave her elemental powers vs adding in the Emotions aspect? No big deal!
I'd argue that it's not misogynistic at all since Peach (a woman who's gender makes her the "more emotional one") was the only one who had control of her emotions enough to save her hero and her kingdom mostly under her own power. Proving that she can save the day just like Mario often does. It made Peach cooler and more independent. Far from misogynistic.
I don't think it was intentionally misogynistic, but I do think it was just a little bit. I mean, I find it logical to assume that Peach's powers being her emotions, rather than because "girls are emotional", it was because it looked cute, and that would have been much more accepted by the players than the usual princess in distress suddenly being as strong as the ones who have to save her every other game. So, like, I think calling it misogyny would be going a bit too far because it wasn't meant to be harmful (probably), but there is a bit of sexism in there anyway.
Further than that, I'm the kind of person who doesn't mind that kind of stuff as long as the game is fun
The genuine surprise at the ending plot twist, truly a wonderful piece of writing that even Jacob wasn't expecting
Yes
Honestly, I don’t think the emotion powers are so bad since she has them in control. This is one of the first times we see an expressive Peach. But it’s also a power I can image the other Mario characters using
I owned this game as a kid and I still have it. I absolutely adored it!!! The music was so fun, the replay is worth it, and finding all the toads is so much fun!!! Ugh, it is such an amazing game
And in today’s installment in “Alpharad plays questionable games,” Peach and Perry the Parasol chase after a Vibrator with the power of exaggerated emotions and Vore!
Kinda reminds me of kir-
“Uncontrolled emotions”
The game:”control your emotions to defeat bowser’s forces”

It was a lot of fun, and I managed to get to the final world, but somehow I lost the cartridge and couldn’t find it anywhere which sucked

0:16 - about the “made her fight with her uncontrolled emotions” actually she’s the only one with control of her emotions in the entire game. The story states that everyone in the mushroom kingdom lost control of their emotions and because of that everything went to shit. Princess peach then, being the only one that can actually control her emotions (that even translates to gameplay, since you can literally choose the emotion you want at any given time) has to then fight her way through all of this to fix the situation. The marketing for this game also stated that she’s in complete control of her emotions and that’s why she can change it at any time. So it’s not being sexist, the game is trying to do the exact opposite and say that the “powerful woman has control”
True, most people are just gonna see woman + Extreme emotions = Sexist tho

I did not realize that she would run faster, I only thought she cried to make plants grow. It didnt help that I did not know english at that time and my parents did not understand video games. Then my DS broke and I never got to finish the game... But hey, now I at least got to see the end of it haha
Super Princess Peach 2 coming

Damn peach, that's his brother😨
3:52 This aged like fine wine
I remember running around in the level desperately trying to find all the puzzle pecies and music notes, never found all of them sadly- This game was funny and fun in its own wacky way. Seeing you play this is a surreal experience that I find hilarious. A ds game series you should really look into is "Drawn to Life" and "Drawn to life the Next Chapter." I will warn you the second made me cry. The second game was a huge game in my childhood. This one was up there too!
If anything, Peach was in total control of her emotions (via you the player), meanwhile the enemies are stuck with one emotion and are running around wily-nily.
"LOST WOODS, BABY!" is one of my new favorite bits.
03:55- Nintendo Direct june 2023: welllllllllllll
3:56 well it did in the latest direct
Was gonna make a joke about woman's emotions being the most powerful tool, but this honestly was a way better game then one would've originally suspected. Good looking style and wtf ending
The "LOST WOODS" parts of the video were just peak comedy to be honest
Nintendo liked this video so much they gave Peach another game
Well apparently she's about to get another one next year
11:12 I was NOT expecting that damning scream out of nowhere lol
