I've never seen anyone crush roles harder than these two crush in The Penguin. That Cristin's a huge Batman fan too is just a fans dream to know the artists also love the source material. Brilliant work by all involved.
I've only seen the trailer and that is the exact feel I got. Only down side is Colin has to dress in that costume and make up and that has to get old for an actor.
Colin so incredibly humble, down to earth and easygoing. You can feel his passion for the entire film making process and the craft of acting. I’m glad to see him finally get the respect he deserves. He’s been in a ton of great films over the past 15 years.
It's so popular now to say about appreciated actor that he is so underrated. Like everyone who watched a few episodes show say that he is a great actor
People just saying "x actor is so underrated." Is a meme at this point. In no way it's this man underrated. He's an Oscar nominated performer and been in 58 films. He's been in the scene a long time and continues to get great movie roles because of his talent. He's in no way "underrated." He's very known and appreciated talent.
@@mateuszmichas2468 I kind of agree with him, Farrell isn't brought up enough when discussing the top tier actors of our generation. Most people didn't really "notice" him until his Penguin role, Maybe because his acting is usually on the naturalism side. but he's always been phenomenal.
I can’t believe that he’s actually the Penguin. The execution of the voice is crazy knowing how he really talks. Who would’ve ever thought he’s doing an amazing job so far

I'm glad to see them as regular people, because they stress me out so badly on the show. 😆 The Penguin is PERFECTION! ♥ Cristin seems to be giving a nod to Michelle Pfeiffer's Cat Woman in that dress.
This man has been in the top game more that 20 years and jim just presented him like a newcomer to success 😅 In the penguin, it is not just the prosthetics I swear this man totally transformed himself in every way. Higher form of acting really. Respect. I think the story is pretty cliche but actings gets it to another level. I would say he should swipe every possible award for that.
I mean, she's not Aubrey Plaza or Anna Kendrick, but those two really cultivate their personas as a part of their work. This just feels like her. Funny, witty, but genuine.
This is excellent The Penguin, Colin & Christin are fantastic in their respective roles, but big props to Rhenzy too, Jimmy should get him on his show.
The Matt Reeves version of Gotham city is the best iteration of the city since the Gotham TV Show which was super underrated. It doesn’t just feel like Chicago it’s gothic, dirty and grimy. It’s a great playground for many spin offs aside from the penguin which was phenomenal. I would absolutely watch a GCPD show based around Jeffrey Wright’s James Gordon. If they don’t do that I do hope he’s in the penguin season 2.
The Penguin was amazing. Like for real... Coliin Farrell deserves all his flower for his part. Cristin also crushed it. They both deserve Emmys and the show itself does too.
I don't watch tv anymore but my son got me into this show and i absolutely love it! He's great at his role but she is wildly talented and is a pure joy to watch!
I love how he gives Mike Marino his flowers, always crediting him, and not just the makeup team, but Mike by name. He does the same with his accent coach- I love how he lifts everyone up. Flourishing is mutual.
When I watch this show, probably the first time since I was a child, I feel like I’m watching these characters’ lives. I still can’t believe he’s is Penguin. At no time does it look or feel, “Oh, that’s Colin Farrell under prosthetics”. That’s not Colin Farrell, that’s an entire other person on screen. AND somehow Cristin was able to make you feel that she’s the real “hero” of the story so far. I want her to “win” their turf war. Even the kid playing Vic, how his stutter comes in and out when he’s nervous, afraid or confident. He plays it perfectly. Best crafted show on tv. It’s an absolute clinic on storytelling and character building.
Mike Marino's makeup design and team created an extraordinary and majestic look on Colin Ferrell. Mike Marino is up there with ALL the greats who have graced the silver screen.
I like what they're doing with The Penguin. As a big fan of The Gentlemen, I love Colin's work. His transformation in The Penguin is sick though. The first time I saw him looking like that I was like "Wait, this is the dude who made Tom Cruise look like the average guy in Minority Report." Amazing.
I think Colin has done a FANTASTIC job thus far in playing this character. It has certainly put him in an entirely new category as an actor. I'll be shocked if he doesn't get an award for playing this part. And the rest of this cast is excellent as well. Cristin is also fantastic in this role as The Hangman. I haven't been this excited about a TV series since The Soprano's. And that's probably because their are many similar aspects between the two shows.
finally a show written by actual adults with brains with great acting writing production design everything every character nailed it and draws you into their world. the show actually made it for an adult audience and it without the need of unnecessary sex scenes. GOLD
The makeup artist is awesome! A quick comparison: When they introduced Killa in John Wick 4, it took a minute, but I figured the actor was wearing special effects makeup. Watching The Batman and The Penguin, you know Colin Farrell is in it, but you have to remind yourself, “Oh yeah, that’s Colin Farrell!”
