Hi Dr. Agten, I'm from Italy and I got injured in gym 3 months ago on my right elbow and I have weak and painful limited extension with also a gap (not on central tendon but like deeper and also medial). I think it can be a rupture (or tear) of the medial head of tricep (and so of his tendon?) and maybe tricep lateral expansion too. However I did 2 MRI and radiologists (not special in muskoloskeletal I suppose) said that the tendon is intact and don't know anything about medial tendon and triceps lateral expansion (they never heard about their existence, only the presence of a common tendon). Moreover from 15 days I have problems with the distal biceps tendon too, I heard two "pops" and now the short head is a bit retracted. I'm really sad, 22 years old, med student too... I'd like to have an expert second opinion from you please. Is it possibile?

You need to see a specialist. I'm strong and jacked and my first Orthopedic said I only had a strain since he couldn't feel a depression in my arm and I could push his hand away. I'm like bro...I literally felt my tendon slide off the bone and I'm so jacked I could push you with only 1 tricep head. The 2nd Orthopedic had to rely on the MRI as well because an AVERAGE person couldn't do what I still could. My situation was a torn outer section of the tendon connected to the long and lateral head. My Orthopedic said it was the strongest tendon and if I didn't fix it I'd lose like 40% strength so I got it fixed but was almost too late because it was already 6 weeks since the injury.
