    What causes this? I current have a plantar vein thrombosis in the medial vein. Is there a bigger underlying problem? I’m really concerned.

    Dear chris, concerning plantar veins, sometimes I strugle differentiating varicosis from normal veins, e.g. as a potential reason for tarsal tunnel syndrome. Do you know a threshold or criteria when to call it varicosis?

      Hi, i dont have a threshold, if it's larger than you suspect and they clinically suspect tarsal tunnel syndrome, I might raise the suspicion of varicosis as the cause in absence of anything else.
      But the fact that only prominent veins are there i would hold back
