Yes!!! Thank you so much for the shoutout and finally buying the Masterpiece The Human Condition. This actually made my day. It won’t be your last Kobayashi film, he is such a fantastic director.
Exotica was indeed one of my early recommendations, glad it’s also now part of your collection.
The Human Condition is definitely one the greatest creations ever made for the world of cinema. It is so important to spread this trilogy around as far and wide as possible
Charade is great bro.
Great video! You're lucky that Criterions are so accessible to you, even if they look really expensive!
Lost Highway will be the new Blue Velvet. 😀
I also can’t find Naked Island anywhere, I’m gonna have to do a mail in😖 also very happy to see an Exotica pickup!
Oh-Knee-Bah-Bah!
I just watched Hunger yesterday, and it absolutely floored me. I love Shame just a smidge more, but Hunger is an outstanding piece of filmmaking.
I like it too, just don’t watch it while eating.
I was waiting for the twist where you put everything back and start getting audio books....haha great video.
This is what a line of credit is for 😂
Wim Wenders’ 2023 film Perfect Days is already getting a Criterion. Excellent film. Can’t wait to pick it up
Miller’s Crossing is in my all time top 10. Need that Criterion though 😮
im glad you shouted me out during la strada and streetwise. la strada is one of my now favorite films!
Great selections. On an unrelated note I just got back from seeing del Toro's Pinocchio and it was so good!!! Honestly in a year we got three Pinocchio movies was it a surprise that this one would be the good one.
You've never seen an Audrey Hepburn film before?
Personally she's an all time favorite actress of mine. It's a crime she has only one film in the collection. I'm a MASSIVE fan of Roman Holiday. Breakfast at Tiffanys and Wait Until Dark are both excellent as well... or well... minus the yellow face character that appears in Tiffanys.
First thing I was going to comment. You gotta see Wait Until Dark! Great stuff with an excellent performance by Alan Arkin too. Highest recommendation for Roman Holiday too. Also really like Sabrina and Funny Face.
All of her movies are must see to me!
It looked like 12 Angry Men stomped all over that 12 Angry Men disc. Or at least 1 very angry man.
It was the mysterious 13th angry man.
As long as I watch the criterion hunts, I will continue to champion Local Hero. Such a great little gem and hopefully they have it in store during your next hunt (I didn’t notice it on the shelves). Love your content!!
I’ve had such a crazy work schedule this month that I haven’t had time to go hardcore criterion hauling. I’ve only bough 7, I’m hoping I can get a few more before the month ends. I feel your pain.
So Many classics skipped over, And picked up The power of the dog!!.
Happy Birthday Martin Scorsese
Streetwise is definitely a great documentary. I was considering making that one of my Patron picks, but I didn't want to overwhelm you 😅
Yeah Streetwise is excellent.
It also makes for a really interesting double-feature when watched alongside Minding the Gap.
Picked up Streetwise. It’s great. Saw it years ago based on Siskel & Ebert’s raves. Got to see it and Tiny at Metrograph in NYC just before covid hit.
I loved how you put Worst Person in the World away because "it was a new release", to then choose between Lost highway and Exotica, which are even newer releases.
I meant that worst person was a newer movie not a newer release. I tend to misspeak in that regard
@@TheMisfitPond Thats what I figured. I was just giving you shit.
You can absolutely blind buy Lady Snowblood!
Plus it's two movies! I'm not sure if he was aware of this.
@@CRM-114 says Ozymandias a notable bad guy from Watchmen...
Agreed. Both films in that set are great. Taking no loss blind buying it.
Millers Crossing is incredible but the Criterion edition cut out one of the best lines! I’m holding onto my original blu-ray forever!
Y’all ever see ‘Hopscotch’? It’s one of my favorite comedies!
‘His Girl Friday’ is a must for anyone who loves ‘Gilmore Girls’ 😊
I love these videos! I just want to know when you picked up Blue Velvet? Your previous videos show you picking it up but never buying it. Yet, you stated you bought it during the July sale but I can't find the video.
Haha love The Thin Red Line and do not love Life Aquatic!
I'd go as far as to say Darjeeling Limited is a great recovery for Wes Anderson!
I blind bought Daddy Long legs and saw it last night. And do not regret it.
Kobayashi ❤🔥
Fucking love these videos.
16:50 13 Angry Men
When you get Some Like It Hot, don’t get the Criterion, Kino Lorber’s 4K is a better edition.
I also hate Night Porter. It is basically a Nazi fetishization apologist film. Charade is a great blind buy. It is basically a great Hitchcock film, without Hitchcock involvement. And do get Lady Snowblood, it is great.
Thanks for going broke for our entertainment.
I got the internal affairs trilogy and watched the first one. It sucked. The Departed did way better job with the concept.
Didn’t like Worst Person in the World.
