Thanks, I guess. I wasn't trying to be funny or anything. I just assumed that was the name for that particular genre for films like Menace II Society, Boyz n the Hood, and Do the Right Thing.
If there was going to be a 4K of Inland Empire it would have been released with the current blu-ray. It probably will never get a 4K because of the way it was filmed and really can’t be improved. So just go ahead and buy the blu-ray next time.
Nice! I got- Safety Last Kagemusha Late Spring I preordered Akira Kurosawa’s dreams 4k. I am hesitant to get Barry Lyndon because I am unsure if it will come to 4k or not.
Its that time of the year again! This became a tradition to watch you guys go hunting ❤ I would happily recommend a film from my country Manila in the Claws of Light film by Lino Brocka which is in the criterion collection. Apparently, the movie is released 1975 and heavily inspired Martin Scoresese in creating Taxi Driver 1976, a year after :)
Good to see you again. I've been to two Barnes and Noble in my area and their criterion selection was pretty slim but I've still gotten some good stuff this month. Here's what I got: *The Servant, Written on the Wind, The Manchurian Candidate, My Darling Clementine, Cooley High, Triangle Of Sadness, Buck and the Preacher and The Gunfighter* Hopefully more to come.
Great taste in music too, Carlos!!! That Yes album is a masterpiece and Heart of the Sunrise is one of their best tracks!! Nice shout out!! Love these Criterion haul vids!!
Oh wow, I didn't know you were in GA. I visit that Peachtree Corners store quite often. The selection was lacking when I was in there last week compared to last year. Every Barnes and Noble I've been to this year has cut their selection down by a huge margin.
Angel at my Table is great, well worth a pickup, it's an autobiographical work of the life of a famous writer but the journey itself is pretty affirming when I last watched it, well worth it as a Criterion film nobody talks about anymore.
Excellent haul. I have two Barnes & Noble hauls up on my channel for the month with a third and final haul coming this weekend. Also, Yes/Fragile is a top 10 album for me.
Yay! Been searching UA-cam every day this month in hopes to see your criterion haul. I'm in Marietta, would love to jump in on one of your hauls in the future! Probably gonna get my first and last little haul in for the 28th. Also, no 4K release for INLAND EMPIRE. Have a great one ya'll and thanks for posting and sharing your thoughts and feelings.
As always, the best videos to watch relating to the Criterion sales. The Seventh Continent is very underrated. Can't wait to grab that Haneke set. Did someone just pick Thelma and Louise over Mishima? 😮 Haha, crisis mode! Happy to see you grabbed Hedwig. Solid stuff!
11:02-11:09 And you should. I've seen all three and while The Seventh Continent is far and away my favorite, the other two, despite not being among Haneke's best imo, are still great movies.
My B & N doesn’t carry movies so I always have to order them. This year I ordered After Hours, Time Bandits 4K, Straw Dogs, and and Repo Man. The only one I’ve seen before is After Hours. I never see anybody talk about Straw Dogs but it looks pretty interesting. I’ve thought about getting Fanny and Alexander, so I may get that later.
All great films. Fanny & Alexander is one of the greatest motion pictures of all time... the extended version, in particular. Quite possibly Bergman's masterwork!
I was wondering when you will be dropping this video. Excellent hauls! As of now I've only picked up Double Indemnity and The Servant. But the month isn't over yet so I'm looking to pick up more. P.S. The less said about that The Little Mermaid remake the better 😂
justed watched "After Hours" for the first time. I think Ari Aster was heavily influenced by thins rim because it reminded me a lot of "Beau is Afraid." I enjoyed the film, definitely stands out in Scorsese filmography, but I think its mid tier Scorsese. Think other films in his filmography are better.
The worst take/mention was the namedrop of the critical drinker. Dude is the worst kind of "content creator".. Political/conservative rage bait for insecure young dudes with really sheltered/illogical opinions and a need for their limited worldview to be reaffirmed. like a nerdy Andrew tate. but the rest of the video was cool lol
Again, happy to be a part of this. Hoping to do it again. Maybe next time they'll have more of a selection.
“I haven’t seen much from the hood genre” 😂
Dude!!! This guy NEEDS to be in more of the hauls
He is mutual and not pretentious 💪🏼

i’ve been looking forward to this video all month
I’ve been waiting to see your hauls . Will you be picking up the Pasolini box set?
In heaven, everything is kino.
Nice! I got-
Safety Last
Kagemusha
Late Spring
I preordered Akira Kurosawa’s dreams 4k.

The Servant and Mildred Pearce😍😍Great Haul guys

Great haul guys. Just when I thought I was done this sale, you make we want and go back and pick up some of your recs.

No 4K for Inland Empire since it wouldn't make any sense. The movie was shot with an consumer grade SD camcorder.
It is a weird choice when the movie was just road showed all over the county in 4k though
Gosh this was awesome. You guys are great. So much goodness. Really cool. I need more Criterion.

Mary and Max I saw for the first time on my first laptop in lilt middle school. It’s so incredible.
Black Adam by Akira Kurosawa 😂
I like the new guy and hopes he appears in more of your Criterion haul videos.
Why thank you! I hope to do this again.

There is definitely NOT a 4k of Inland Empire by the way.
I was telling him! But he wouldn’t believe me
Eggscellent picks, all! Even though Blaire fucked up by putting back my favorite Akira Kurosawa film‼️
Yeah black Adam is far superior to Seven Samurai!
Glad y'all made another one of these!

Blair should check out the movie The Queen from 1968 if she loves Paris Is Burning. It has a nice bluray from Kino Lorber.
Hoping one day we can get David Fincher and Paul Thomas Anderson films on Criterion
Well, we already have one from PTA (Punch-Drunk Love) and two from Fincher (The Game & Benjamin Button)... hoping they continue!
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😅🎉🎉🎉

I’m emo what do you want from me Jkjk lmao

Yea i have no idea who that is lol when ck name dropped him I assumed he was just another UA-cam reviewer or something lol
The hysterical nature of your comment makes you sound more sheltered than you claim him to be.
Lotta awful takes here ngl
