Sean May was a big bust, hell almost anyone drafted by Charlotte would probably qualify. they somehow got lucky with Kemba Walker, but other than that its really bad.
We drafted Shai Gilgous Alexander, but traded him on draft night 🤦♂️ Out last few years haven't been that bad. LaMelo, Miles Bridges, Malik Monk, and PJ Washington. Boughnight if looking like a bust tho
Jonny Flynn will forever be one of the biggest what ifs in league history. That injury killed every ounce of potential he had, sending him straight into the trashcan of NBA history, and nobody knew then that Steph would turn into the greatest 3-point artist ever. Hindsight is 20/20, but at and before Flynn's exact draft moment, the decision that could even be considered questionable was taking Ricky Rubio (who isn't a bust, but isn't fantastic either)
I don’t consider Williams and Wagner busts. One was in a serious accident and the other had an illness. Same for Oden. Mayo just didn’t live up to expectations, but he was OK.
Very nice video and I agree about all the players except (maybe) Shaun Livingston because there are many players "better busts" than him. Example: Martell Webster, Ike Diogu, Rodney White (when you put No 9 picks), Chris Mihm, Randy Foye.
Jay Williams wrecked his knee in a motorcycle crash and he’s talking about he wasn’t wearing a helmet? I guess a helmet on his head would’ve saved his knee.
Idk man....the fact Livingston was able to come back and contribute to 3 championships after the horrible injury says he is not a bust, regardless where he was drafted...name me another player who came back from that kind of injury and was key in 3 championship teams?.......... Still waiting.....
That’s still a bust. He broke his agreement with the team. On the other hand, if his abilities were still in full swing, why was that the only professional team he ever played for? I see what you’re saying and I almost agreed but when you step back and look at the situation, he was definitely a bust. After his accident, he became addicted to his pain meds which I think is what ultimately did him in. He’s a bust, knowing what could’ve been had he not broke his agreement with the bulls...
Thanks. Could've been added to the list for sure, but just for a straight comparison - Livingston was drafted higher, and provided less production over the years.
@@kameronduckett Livingston was at least a great role player and could of been great if it wasn't for injuries what did Mihm do in the worst draft ever???
Chris Mihm was DOMINATED by Jamal Magliore in workouts leading up to the 2000 draft. As bad as that draft was Mihm had no business being a 1st round pick
You gotta mention that Wagner's career went down hill through no fault of his own whatsoever. Dude was playing sick before learning he had ulcerative colitis, lost a ton of muscle and had to have a large portion of his colon removed.
I was at the rally in downtown Portland that welcomed Greg Oden and I was at his final game as a Blazer when he went down and out with an injury. I feel for Greg. Injuries do suck.
I probably should've told this at the beginning of each of my bust videos. I had a list of requirements you had to fulfil to be a bust. First, you need to be a TOP 10 pick. In the case of Fran Vazquez he never even played in the NBA, so it's not like he busted. He wasn't even there. Swift was drafted outside of the TOP 10. Joe Alexander, agree. Should've been on the list.
@@PurplePrinceNBA agree Joel Przybilla and Keyon Dooling could be considered as well but the whole 2000 draft was downright horrible sides mike Miller Keyon Martin Michael Redd Hedo Turcoglu and Jamal Crawford and few descent role players
Darius Miles “oh shit shooting is part of the game? not just dunking and layups?!” Dorko was so bad. He did a turnaround jumper from the baseline and hit the side of the backboard. Then broke his hand giving Rasheed a high five
I also wouldn’t call Yi a bust. It’s not like he was doing anything before he was drafted. Like you said, he was literally drafted where he was because he was big and from China, like Yao. Expectations were put on him that shouldn’t have been. Had he shown greatness or at least the potential for it, I could see him as a bust. To me, he was just a mistake made by a team that should’ve known better...
Shaun Livingston wasn't a bad player so I wouldn't consider him as a bust. As far as Greg Oden he was a hell of a college player but injuries was 2 much 4 him in the NBA. Talented? Yes Bust? Pretty much
The OJ Mayo for Kevin Love to Minnesota waa not a good trade. With K. Love Minnesota never made the Playoffs but more importantly they never had a winning season either.
The 2006 draft wasn’t “atrocious”. Was it star studded? No, but I wouldn’t call it atrocious. There were some great players in that draft and overall there was a lot of potential in that draft as well. Over half the players of that draft were at least halfway decent bench players. Some drafts are going to work out like that. Either way, the 2006 draft produced 5 players who made All-Star appearances. That’s not atrocious....
DARIUS MIILES WASN'T A BUST. Are you kidding?? You obvious didn't grow up in those days. Don't listen to his podcast with Q. He was an all time bust. He needed college
I strongly disagree with you about Shawn Livingston bcuz was not a bust!! A nasty broken leg slowed his development down..but once he joined Golden State his game really went to another level..I'm talking about 3x champion Shawn Livingston!!
Man after YEARS of busts and bad drafting, my Knicks are finally drafting right because RJ Barrett will be ALL-NBA soon and IQ, Obi, Mitchell Robinson, Sims, Grimes and McBride all look like good players. Obi and IQ are looking like All Stars. Obi looks like the second coming of STAT, except Amare couldn't sink threes like Obi. And Immanuel is a walking triple double. I remember when we traded for Eddy Curry. My God.....the horror.
Dude called Shaun Livingston a bust shows that he does not know shut about basketball.
Lmao Shaun Livingston a bust is crazy
Livingston shattered his knee it was gruesome just to be able to compete after that was a miracle
Does anyone remember how over powered OJ Mayo was in 2k? He’s was like d Wade with a 3
Wow, 30+ minutes ?
Time to get my popcorn.

The selection of Rubio is justifiable at that moment
Crazy how big men that are considered a bust can still last at least 10 years in the league tho 🤔
I don’t consider Williams and Wagner busts. One was in a serious accident and the other had an illness. Same for Oden. Mayo just didn’t live up to expectations, but he was OK.

The Chicago Bulls actually paid him. They didn't have to and I wouldn't have. That dumbass voided his contract
I asked him about that he said he is glad he has his health
I always though Sheldon Williams kinda looked like Ken Griffey Jr when he drank the gigantic medicine on the Simpsons

Unfair to have Jay Williams on here. The motorcycle accident derailed his career not his talent or ability.

this was dope man...thanks for putting this all together.
Greg Oden was drafted at 40 years old.

Not really. He was the 2nd pick of the draft and never really developed as a starter,
When
He did in 2k maybe. He wasn't given much of a opportunity
So a "bust" to you is anyone who didnt become a superstar?
Busts to me are players who were drafted high, but for one reason or another, did not fulfill their expectations.
Kwame Brown fits that description👍 Definitely a bust..
Joe Dumars had a knack for drafting busts.
Mateen Cleaves, Darko, Carlos Delfino, Jason Maxiel.
Can't really call Maxiell a bust. He played his role perfectly with the Pistons.
@@hiphophistory2218 the only role he played perfectly was all the chicks he was banging around the association.

You can tell that you work very hard on your videos. Great job!
Role players who get to the Finals are not busts. They are team players. They have chances at rings not shoe contracts.
Miles would of been scottie pippen if he went to college
Shaun Livingston was a hooper!!!!! You sleep 😴
Cool videos but they lack some context when discussing some of these players.

Guys with injuries should be considered something different from a bust.
Where is your mike conley to Utah jazz trade video.
Ronald Dylan Concepcion Wasn’t actually planning to make one. Maybe I’ll do a video about a bunch of trades later.
Tyrus Thomas went to my high school, show some damn respect 🙏

Too bad his career went south.
When the dude he’s traded for on draft night becomes a 7x All-Star who’s still in the league even after a health scare…yeah, no. Bust, bust, bust
Jay Williams doesn’t belong on this list because of his bike accident. The other stiffs had a larger body of work.

Why is Anthony Bennett not here
2000s. He's a product of 2010s. The video on the full list of busts from the 2010s will be published later ;)

Your being unfair to Livingston. The injury ruined any chance of him being great. He shouldn’t be considered a bust,
