As a Memphian, I have been watching Wiseman since he was in HS. It seems like everyone he trusted or played for over the years him let him down bigtime. Penny totally f*cked up his college career by insisting he play after being told not to by the NCAA, then he got drafted by a GSW team that quickly changed from 'let's develop these young players' to wanting to win now. Draymond & Klay in particular were always up Kerr's ass if a rookie breathed wrong. Now in Detroit, his spirit seems broken already. Hopefully he can get his spark back, he was really phenomenal & showed a few flashes of that this year.
How did Penny fuk up his college career he was averaging 20 and 10 when he played for Penny he had three state championships Golden State Warriors f***** him up
You know why they become busts? Because America's college basketball is based on athleticism and individual game. Some of these players never trully worked on fundamentals before they're thrown into the NBA. If their Athleticism and individual game fails they just look like these clumsy scared kids making fundamental mistakes and people start to hate them whenever they don't meet the expectations.
The problem with Wiseman, we've seen as of recent, is that he didn't belong in Golden State. The Warriors are trying to keep the dynasty going when the only member of the trio of Curry, Klay, and Draymond that which is still good is...Curry. Klay's injuries have costed him DEARLY, and Draymond is who we thought he was. Also it seems like the younger guys and Kerr don't really gel for the same reason, Kerr & co. want to keep the dynasty going. If WIseman got drafted elsewhere with the right people around him and less expectations, who knows
There is something wrong with the 76ers coaching staff. 2 guys stopped shooting threes and lost their ability to shoot anything when they were drafted...

Now the future of the NBA are all European players.
Now if that injury didn't ruin him and his potential to flourish, he would have become one of the better players in the league, but speaking of which, I don't think he definitely would have become the best player from that draft class because, as you know, Jayson Tatum is there, but he would mostly likely become the 3rd best player, potentially being the 2nd best player. Jazz fan here. Like you said Kris Dunn definitely didn’t live up to his expectations but he’s made a monster come back. Hes developed a jump shot, is a lock down defender, and a fan favorite. I hope the Jazz resign him for next season
I hated the wiseman pick at the time. I wanted them to draft Ball (despite not wanting to deal with his dad). In retrospect, obviously, Ball would've been a way better pick, but with hindsight, Haliburton would've been the ideal pick there. Regardless, I hate drafting the unskilled/unproven center just because he's one of like 70 nba age seven footers in the US. It's my least favorite way to blow a draft pick in any sport. It's even worse than trading a draft haul for a qb with a sub 5% chance of working out *cough* Trey Lance *cough*.
The problem with Wiseman is that he was so inexperienced at that time, and basically sat out his whole freshman year due to injury(Only played 3 games) It's the worst pick since 2020, as we can see all other top 3 picks worked out really well besides some injuries. The only logic to support the draft is "Dude is a 7'1 center with good athleticism","And the Warriors need a big!"" Plus I don't recall Wiseman going to the trial at all... While both Ant and Hali at least went to the trial for Kerr and the FO to take a glimpse. I know people tend to shit on Kerr lately, but at least he was right about Haliburton, I remember I read an article about how Kerr wanted Hali and Hali believed he could be a Warrior at the time. But the owner was the one who made the final decision I believe.
@Leo-nc3yx Yeah, that's often the problem with 7 footers. It's rather common for them to be radically inexperienced due to starting to play basketball late, after growing so tall that they're pushed into it. Probably an over-simplification, but the fact remains that there's very few true 7 footers in the world, and a nontrivial portion of them are in the NBA, so you're not getting the most skilled prospects out of thousands or millions, you're getting the most skilled or athletic prospects out of, generously, hundreds.
Ah yes, Mario Hezonja, my "favorite" match-up in 2K (my MyCareer player is a SF so I get him most of the time) so I make sure to either dunk on him, swat his shots, or score a crap ton of points against him.
Did I just sleep past the part about Ben Simmons? How is he not on here as the #1 pick? It's not like MZ didn’t pick guys from Ben's draft class. I mention Simmons besides the obvious reason bc of a thought that came to mind: of all the busts _in general_ he's the one who had no excuse. Markelle had a grievous injury that basically destroyed his game. Marv was not the top pick for good reason, and he was one of 3 then quality options in his own class. Ben Simmons? None of these other guys had his hype and were the #1 pick. He's the only guy who basically willed himself out of the good graces of everyone, and *all without any debilitating injuries as the cause.*
I think it’s because at least he played some decent years, got into the playoffs, then declined, compared to these other guys who just simply never produced in any form And another “fuck Ben Simmons” video would be boring. I’m trying to hear names I forgot about
Just wanna point out that when Josh Jackson is driving and someone tries to take a charge the ref watches the ball go in the hoop not the defender when he calls a block.
Y'all really are the g league of the nba at this point, wake tf up, you should be contending for championships, not doing what the hornets and the pelicans sorry asses should be doing
Kris Dunn took over the starting point guard spot for the Utah Jazz and is officially on his way to a NBA All Defensive Team selection if he stays healthy and plays at least 65 games this season & a long-term deal from Utah this off-season. KD is far from a bust he is literally a late bloomer and a pure Alpha Dawg on perimeter defense...
Although a Great defender there's a reason he's only Averaging 17 Minutes per game on the 11th seed Jazz. His offensive production is almost Non-existant. He's headed for that Patrick Beverly type role. Solid, but for a Player that was Drafted as a top 5 seed and Ahead Of Guys like Jamal Murray and Sabonis it's pretty fair to label him a bust
Man, don't none of you ever compare these centers and power forwards or forward-centers to people like wilt chamberlain and bill russell. Because there will never be players like these ever again don't even compare players to players like pete maravich, oscar robertson or even elgin baylor and tom gola or even george mikan and players from the 1960s and 70s. You may play similarly, but you don't have the mindset of these players. This is why I hate comparing players, because you can play similarly all day and put up amazing stats, but if you don't have a similar mindset as said player than your not that said player
Why? Cause you know luka will be this good? The problem with Wiseman is that he was so inexperienced at that time, and basically sat out his whole freshman year due to injury(Only played 3 games)
It's the worst pick since 2020, as we can see all other top 3 picks worked out really well besides some injuries.
The only logic to support the draft is "Dude is a 7'1 center with good athleticism","And the Warriors need a big!""
Plus I don't recall Wiseman going to the trial at all... While both Ant and Hali at least went to the trial for
Kerr and the FO to take a glimpse.
I know people tend to shit on Kerr lately, but at least he was right about Haliburton, I remember I read
an article about how Kerr wanted Hali and Hali believed he could be a Warrior at the time. But the
owner was the one who made the final decision I believe.
Thomas Robinson? He was traded at the deadline his rookie season after being drafted #5. Jabari Parker? Derrick Williams?
It's crazy with how bad the Pistons were, that two #2 overall picks were barely getting any playing time let alone starting
Ah yes, Mario Hezonja, my "favorite" match-up in 2K (my MyCareer player is a SF so I get him most of the time) so I make sure to either dunk on him, swat his shots, or score a crap ton of points against him.
There was also Harry Giles III and Frank Jackson in the Top 5 of that draft with Josh Jackson and Markelle Fultz.
I think it’s because at least he played some decent years, got into the playoffs, then declined, compared to these other guys who just simply never produced in any form
And another “fuck Ben Simmons” video would be boring. I’m trying to hear names I forgot about
excellent content, just one thing, it's not "humbleness" the correct term is Humility. ;)
Everyone gots that one friend who’s like “super Mario” fr… can’t hoop for shit but think he MJ reincarnated 😭😂😂
Just wanna point out that when Josh Jackson is driving and someone tries to take a charge the ref watches the ball go in the hoop not the defender when he calls a block.
Half of these guys played for my Pistons SMDH 🤦🏾
Y'all really are the g league of the nba at this point, wake tf up, you should be contending for championships, not doing what the hornets and the pelicans sorry asses should be doing
Kris Dunn took over the starting point guard spot for the Utah Jazz and is officially on his way to a NBA All Defensive Team selection if he stays healthy and plays at least 65 games this season & a long-term deal from Utah this off-season. KD is far from a bust he is literally a late bloomer and a pure Alpha Dawg on perimeter defense...
Took Kyle Lowry a bit to get to all star level, im rooting for Dunn !
Who would have thought the money, glitz and glamour would have an adverse effect on people who havent hit mental maturity. 🤔🙄
Man Phoenix is cursed, Ayton, Chris’s,Bender,Ulis,Josh Jackson,Reed,Jalen Smith. Brutal
Markelle Fultz and Ben Simmons must 'suffer' from the same thing 😏
Well you didn't see the video. Fultz had a physical nerve issue.
@@philwill0123 well, Simmons has a completely fucked back (congenitally + added injuries, apparently)
Half these guys played for the Pistons... And Detroit didn't draft any of them.
lmao, detroid is picking them up from the salvation army discount rack.
Wiseman is exactly what the Warriors deserved for cheating the league for 3 years when they had KD
Yips makes me think John Rocker(former Braves pitcher)
Honestly my expectation for wiseman was more like a giannis with a bit of shooting. Not a wilt or embiid.
Mario Herzonia is the Lebron stopper!!
why do so many players not work on a jump shot??
if basketball is your job... you work on shooting.
Fantastic video bro. ❤💪🏾
Thank you brother 🙏
Patrick Williams finna make this list in a year or two
Hell no
Kings drafting Bagley over Luka will forever be the biggest fumble in NBA history.
Why? Cause you know luka will be this good? Come on now lets be really really honest here majority of us basketball fan dont know who luka is before the draft night no one know how great these players will be, if kawhi didnt land in spurs he aint gonna be this good same with giannis, jokic, kobe and many more basketball players they are the only one who knows how great they will be in the league 🤷♂️
@@shan8245most people knew the 18 year old euroleague mvp would be very good
Damn did Mike say Josh's baby mama was 41? Isn't he in his 20's?
I think even NOW after like 5-6 years after being drafted I I’m sure bros only like 27
Mario Hezonja is a shithouse of legendary magnitude - he got drafted in my first season watching the NBA properly as a Magic fan, was devastated it never worked out especially in that weird five game stint of him scoring 20+ points or whatever it was. Great to see him competing at a high level with Real now 🏆🏆
My Pistons show up 3 times in this video.
Me: Oh hey, I love recurring characters.
And this is top 5 busts, not the annual "with the 7th pick, Detroit has selected a man who cannot shoot a basketball."
@@machravens Exactly. This doesn't even include the players Detroit themselves have taken that haven't worked out, but rather, their failed rehabilitation projects....or the ones they took back later on (looking at you, Brandon Knight).
Why even put in an explanation of what The yips are when we know that markelle fultz had a screwed up shoulder because of a nerve issue?
Fultz had the yips and blamed it on a phantom shoulder injury that didn't show up on any tests...
damn bro i haven’t watched since 2015ish your voice changed no cap
Hope you stick around my man, appreciate you 🙏
The problem with a lot of these guys is they're overreliant on ATHLETICISM AND SIZE rather than Baskeball INTELLIGENCE and legitimate skill
Sad thing about Josh Jackson is he played on my favorite college team. I gotta expect more production from a Jayhawk.
I’m a Celtics fan , and I remember fans were mad we didn’t take Josh Jackson over Jayson Tatum. Not only did we get a player whose 10 thousand times better, we got a player whose a 10 gazillion times better father.
26:42 this is a look into an alternate dimension where Mario Hezonjia really WAS a young MJ
The Oscar Robinson disrespect was real
None intended! Oscar is an all time legend both on the court and off (even if that sounds cliche lol), its just like George Mikan and the Lakers to me. I said Sacramento though, Oscar was in Cincinnati but I get it, same franchise I just meant guys in Sacramento specifically
Mario Hezonja, greatest blazer of all time 😅
Lets all take a moment to revel in how sweet a name Chuck Knaublock is
Markelle Fultz is one of the reasons why you should also draft according to fit
Wow. "Embid" "Wilt" "David"! Waaayy too much gas on that first guy.
I believe that my pacers will revive his career like we’ve done past lotto picks. He won’t be an allstar but a great role player I guarantee it
I feel bad for Markelle, dude is gifted but injuries destroy his game
MARKELLE FULTZ IS NOT A BUST he had an extremely severe shoulder injury that completely affected the way he played, most players would have been out of the league with that injury and he still became a great player even dealing with such condition
Mike we love these videos where you been but after a torn acl and too still be starting on a playoff contender markelle is still thriving 🎉
Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS) is NOT rare at all. Super common, I work with folks who’ve had a positive TOS diagnosis on the daily.
there’s still hope for Fultz and he’ll be a solid role player
Unfortunately, injury will always hinder his game
