just want to say that I tried this recipe with several alterations, but the same method (I used farm-fresh organic chicken) and it came out AMAZING. I didn't drain the juices because I love sauce. Everyone loved it. Thanks so much for this yummy recipe.

Cooking first at 450 degrees for 30 minutes draining off excess liquid and then putting sauce on lowering temperature to 350 and covering with foil for additional 30 minutes or more. I never poured the juice off but i will now.Thanks a million

I moved to Georgia 13yrs ago and that's when I first discovered that Greek seasoning "CAVENDER'S"! IT IS MY FAVORITE TOO! I use it on almost everything. Anybody watching this... If you haven't tried this seasoning you need to get some! I recognized the container right away and I just knew that you must be gonna make some crazy, good chicken if you using that! I think I'm A pretty good cook but I get tired of my recipes so I'm gonna fix my leg quarters like yours!!! Looks great!!!!

ran across this video last night. now, i make my own version of oven bbq chicken, but i decided to click on it & see what other folks might be doing. grabbed my attention right away when i saw the Cavender's on the cutting board. then, when you said it was your favorite rub, i was hooked. came across it by accident. about 25 yrs. ago both my wife & myself lost our jobs. a lady at church made up a care pkg for us and in it was some Cavender's. haven't been without it since. i use it in all my veggies except collards. i use a Cajun seasoning in those. no matter what i'm cooking, it enhances the flavor. it make Chinese more Chinesey, Mexican more Mexicany, etc. then, later,when you said that you preferred the dark meat chicken because it was more flavorful i said to myself, "i gotta subscribe. this guy's got it on!"
I followed your recipe to the T except for using smoked paprika and it was definitely the best BBQ chicken I’ve had in a while and it was too easy to do! Thanks Chef Jeff!

Uhumm never seen oven bar b que look so good! I usually only like outdoor grilling,the swimming juices that normally be in the pan, that's what I really don't care for in oven bar b que, BUT, this I most definitely will cook and I love liquid smoke, it's a big help when you can't grill outside. Jeff I would love to see you cook "shredded pork shoulder", your whole technique.

Good morning OSSFF.. When my daughter went to college, she was cleaning and seasoning her chicken in the sink just like Chef Jeffery did in this video. Her roomates had a fit!! Thats unsanitary they told her 😏.. She also grew up in the north, however they felt it was too country for them.. BUT they ate THAT chicken😋.. LOL .. Good times.. Thanks for the receipe!!

Why you have a problem with that? The sink should be the most clean item in most kitchens I see you never worked in larger kitchens. That’s the place where most items are marinated or mixed The sink is the washed and sanitized item in most kitchens
