    Good lord! It's amazing the poor thing works as well as it does! Good job working the roof with the engine off! A tribute to FoMoCo engineering! Gearhead222

      Needs more than points. Ring job, valve job and maybe a cracked head in the mix. However, it has great possibilities - if your pockets are deep.

    Grooovy Ford Spaceships, I love em. As I understood it though, you had to operate the hood mechanism WITH the engine running. Is that not correct, or ...?
    Beautiful magic rides these old '59 Fords.

    • @samspace81
      @samspace81  9 років тому

      MungoidHen no, these Fords had an under-dash lever, it would operated whenever you pulled it and the hood opens from the back. Thanks for checking it out. - Sam

    is that a factory stick for pushing trunk lid up? Limit switch adjustment maybe? Do it with the car running may help also..lol OMG that thing runs like hell. Please fix that engine. valve job once every million miles would be great as well. no lead in gas anymore valves don't have hardened seats. It is running on 7, no make that 5 cylinders most of the time. I canty watch anymore. oh yeah keep the top up until you get a haircut. Thanks

      samspace81 Yeh ok sam space between the ears 81, well if the hair is original the wheel covers aren't .. now that you have insulted me I think you look a little like Roy Orbison trying to get a part in the remake of Planet of the Apes. The only thing we have in common is I also have a black 59 Skyliner but this does not mean we have to be friends..

    That's what I call a "fixer-upper". There's potential there for the person who wants to spend lots of money and time. That would be me... Interested in selling?

    • @samspace81
      @samspace81  9 років тому

      Ooooo doggies Uncle Jed! I'd sure sell her to you but it ended up sold to Texas Motor Toys in Terrell, Texas. This car came out of Lonestar, Texas originally.

    Ford never called the GALAXIE a Fairlane of any kind, just GALAXIE.

    • @samspace81
      @samspace81  4 місяці тому

      1959 is says Fairlane Galaxie all over it

    • @jamesbosworth4191
      @jamesbosworth4191 4 місяці тому

      @@samspace81 But Ford never publicly called it that, they just called it the Galaxie. Research period advertising and you will see. The "regular" Fairlanes didn't have that Thunderbird-style roofline and didn't have that back window.

    If that Skyliner was a dog, you'd put it out of its misery and shoot it. It sounds awfull! Sort out that engine.
