don't mind one bit when you are carp fishin....did a lot of it in the early 1970s with no boat, just bank fishing the Fox River in SE Wisconsin...one night a bite and run across all 3 other lines took them ALL right in the river... jumped in, in the dark, and rooted around holding 1 rod up, and eventually found the other 3....way too closely spaced.....FUN FISHING!
I lost a rod in a local lake for about a month, lucky for me it got snagged by someone by the dam, bout quarter of a mile from where it got pulled in. And luckier yet a friend was working at the bait shop and the guy that snagged it was talking to him. Got my $100 setup back for 20 bucks that my friend bought it off that guy for.
Nothing wrong with catching Big Carp, my dad and I used to catch some big ones and there's nothing better than having a big heavy fish of any kind on the end of your pole.

The pack bait item you need looks like a coilspring type. And when you're entering a place to carp fish throw 3 or 4 hands full of your bait to chum the area. And I do use small carp as bait for cats cool spring ones work great for me. Have fun.!! 🍻

This is the exact same bait I use,cheap too,I went carp fishing today and actually caught my pb carp,8lb 10oz lol,not huge but definitely fun,caught another smaller one,a largemouth bass and a catfish all on packbait,awesome channel man,i subbed

Looked about a 13/15lb common carp,once you get into 30 pounders it gets really fun,especially if you have to play them in snaggy water.

Haven't carp fished in years. Quick story. I was in college in1984. I went to our local creek to carp fish during spring break. I had one on and it was a great fight. Some guy from across the creek waded across. He asked to help land the fish and I said no thank you I'll get him in. He insisted and grabbed the line. The carp ran and the hook came out and right in his thumb. He started yelling at me about the hook. I told him I didn't want him to grab the line.
We did catch some big carp out of the creek. Now I'm nearly 60 and mainly trout fish. Great times.

Take an unhooking mat with you when you fish. Carp give great fun but we need to be respectful that they go back in the same condition they came out in. That stone bank is pretty un forgiving on carp scales. Wouldn’t go fishing without one in uk.
Catching the ole Bugle Mouth Bass!! Fun to fight them but that’s about it! You can cook them on pine board on a fire, and throw away the carp and eat the board. 😆🤪
I toss out a small handful of corn and broadcast it in a spot in front of me, then I use corn on a bobber. I have enough weight to keep the bait inside the area I broadcast the handful of corn. Now I have the bait on bottom and bobber laying on its side. When a carp grabs it, the bobber will stand up and start moving off. That's when I set the hook. A lot of times you can see the bobber dancing around when carp are near it. That's my go to for lake carp fishing.
One thing we do in the uk with carp.is pre bait..probably work really well for you us guys..awesome stuff
You'll get more bolt bites and fewer mystery bites with a shorter leader, 6-8 inches.
my grand parents took us kids fishing here in Missouri and they would can then with just a pinch of salt and a little vinegar and pressure cooked them and in the winter or if they had company they would make carp patties it tastes just like salmon patties the bones resolved it's very good no bones we had a lot of fun catching. them we used wheaties and strawberry jello. and mad balls out of it it was tuff bait and the carp loved it
It’s called a bolt rig because of it’s self hooking properties,the short link hooks against the weight as the Carp moves it’s hard or lip.
Fishing for carp is a blast but fishing with 4 rods I think youll be tangled up more then your fishing

Carp are fun to catch and make good cut bait. They can test you skills and tackle.

Grass carp are difficult to catch, they have excellent eye sight. Remember that.
Iv caught 100s of carp and 1 grass carp. Very difficult to catch.

I feel your pain with the rod Justin. I put a $100 reel on top of my car while I was going thru the garage and my wife drove off with it up there. It went flying and it’s broke. UGH

I’m up in ny and the water is just starting to finally start bumping up in temps for spring fishing. Carp are still awful slow moving and really need to sight fish them still and get the bait within a few feet of them to actually get them to move to you. Frankly that’s how most of the fishing is for me right now but getting ready for them bullhead to start moving up the creeks and rivers! Nice fish man keep up the content!

Ive been following for a long time. I seen the rod break and glad you got a new rod . I also seen the live stream earlier yesterday and the way I fish is a Carolina rig with a size 6 eagle claw treble hook with a spring on it. I don't like the method lead either. Good luck and tight lines.

The ball is pretty big, carp fish might have trouble eating that. I used small treble hook,or a straight hook

Carp do make great catfish bait! Used to net up dead or stunned ones coming out of the dam turbines for bait.

I use instant oats for bait out fishes corn for me just get it wet and work it into a ball around hook and it will stay on great!

Carp are so overpopulated in eastern NC, our wildlife staff is going to stock that river(forgot the name), with bluegill. The bluegill will eat the eggs the carp lay, which I didn’t know !
Bass and crappie will too but bluegills are probably the best for that cause they aren’t a predatory fish like bass or crappie
I've fished for carp for years....they are a lot of fun to catch.
I think if you use short hooklinks, around 6” you get a better take. It’s cool to see those simple things works over there. Here in the Netherlands it’s a hole different story.

Don't forget that Carp eat other fish's excrement. We threw them in the woods. They are invasive. But they are alot of fun to real in.
