Touhou Project - Past and Present

Been a while hasn't it. I wanted to compile my (current) thoughts on the series' writing and talk about how it's changed through the years, as a sort of addendum or epilogue to the Era series, but focusing entirely on the lore of Touhou. A bit of a rambly video, but I hope you'll enjoy it anyways.

This was a great remix of Yuka's theme.

Did not even notice how 22 minutes passed, quite some good thoughts in this video. While remembering when Touhou began I'm wondering- what will be its future, I mean after Zun is either not able to or is no more himself. It will happen eventually like it does to everyone. I wonder who will lead Touhou. Will there be anyone in the middle of Touhou as Zun currently is or will the community dissapear within a few generations of people?
I'm quite afraid of how someone could mess it up far in the future- be it with trademarking Touhou's name, a big company releasing stuff with "touhou" names or making something controversial with it... Well, if it ever happens we won't be here anymore most likely, looking at how well Zun's looking while drinking so much beer. Unless health sciences advance to the level of making us immortal (nope, not happening).
On the other hand its not so impossible even today with how fast the popularity of touhou is increasing. I guess not counting the official games touhou is what fans make of it? Perhaps I'm just too dense to understand the scale of Touhou.

It's something I thought about as well. I'm sure he'll have clear guidelines on what to do if he does leave it to someone, but knowing his solo style, my bet is that it will just stop when he can't work on it anymore. I believe other non-official works will probably continue to profit from the series though, at least for a while.
Worry not however as we will collectively fund the construction of a synthetic body for ZUN, so that he may continue his life's work.

8:30 DIPP was probably first
Also DIPP and the th6 OST was originally made with a SC-88Pro but ZUN got an SD-90 in late 2001 and remade everything.
The MIDIs in th6 are the original SC-88Pro versions and the MIDIs for DIPP haven't been released I think

ZUN did upload a few MIDIs to his site that would eventually become part of DiPP, but that also doesn't really say much as to which work was finished first. Then again my question is about the story in particular since they are so different in tone. For that we have no leads as far as I know.

I stumbled upon this video, wanted to support a Touhou creator by watching it and... where did 22 minutes go?
Fantastic video, nicely edited with sprinkles of comedy and a hefty serving of interesting things that made me dwell more on Gensokyo as a whole. The video was incredibly seamless with its edits and, again, I was so engrossed that I ended up watching the whole thing... Touhou is wonderful, isn't it?
