    This Fix saved us such a pain removing and replacing 2x large 6' x 42" mirrors. Went to Home Depot near Vancouver and purchased 5 stick on tiles and cut 2 rows of pattern as you did. Cost $12/tile; actually looks amazing and did in 1 hour. So glad I found your video ... thank you for posting!

      Hello there! In my experience, once it’s on, it’s on. The back has a really strong adhesive on the back of it. That is why you have to make sure about placement before pressing down. 😅

    Looks great.I had the same mirror and the same crack as you, in the same spot lol...this is a great alternative to the "make a frame kit"...that sells for a couple of hundred bucks that is pre-cut with an adhesive back that you assemble and press to the mirror...this is a much more affordable and decent look too. Great idea! I'm wondering if it would work for my two door mirrored medicine cabinet. It has no frame, clips, or pulls. Hence we open it by grasping the bottom edge. And of course over time those place at the bottom edges oxydize and blacken. Each spot is an inch or so long. Obviously I could do this - placing tile strips to stop at center edge of each door. But am wondering if the strips themselves would then oxydize in same places (since there are no pulls). Previously I had thought of framing it all somehow. Don't want to replace cabinet, and it doesn't look like replacing the glass is possible.....

    • @TammysHomeTips
      @TammysHomeTips  Рік тому +1

      You could buy one tile, cut a strip off and see how the placement would be before removing the backing and adhering it to the medicine cabinet. Each tile costs about $11 so it is an affordable experiment at least 🙃

    • @TammysHomeTips
      @TammysHomeTips  2 роки тому +2

      I’m so glad this will help! It depends on if the clips are flat against the mirror or are the type that protrude out. If they protrude out, you might have a second person hold the mirror so you can back the clips out temporarily and you can place the tiles behind it and screw then back in. I have done this in a previous home.

    • @TammysHomeTips
      @TammysHomeTips  3 місяці тому

      If they are the flat metal clips you can go right over them but the larger clear plastic ones you can loosen one at a time and slip that one piece behind it then tighten it again before you move on to the next one. Just be sure not to over tighten the clip so you don’t crack the mirror. I have done this several times without issues.

    • @TammysHomeTips

      Actually, my previous place had clips and I bought new ones and replaced them as I went along… It’s a good idea to have someone there to help you just to make sure there’s no mishaps. Oh, and don’t screw them in too tightly when you replace them or you will crack the mirror.

      I had this scenario in my house prior to this one. It was the kind you could screw out. In that case, I purchased new clips from Ace’s and removed and replaced each one, one at a time. My husband made sure that the mirror didn’t shift while I was doing this. Also, be sure not to screw it in too aggressively or the pressure could crack the mirror. Hope this helps!

    What black beading ? Can you show it ?

    • @TammysHomeTips
      @TammysHomeTips  3 роки тому +1

      Great question! I should have shown that more clearly. The backing is a black soft foam-like layer that has the adhesive on it. When you cut the strips apart, there might be small pieces of the foam-like backing that didn’t cut smoothly. It’s best to pull those little pieces off before adhering it to the mirror. It will make for a smoother finish.

      This mirror had no clips. However, I had done this in a previous place before and I just backed the clips out and put new ones in. Just do one at a time. Your scenario is better though. I had the same issue in my previous home. I recommend having a second person there if that’s the case. You can remove and replace them with new ones one at a time just make sure not to screw them in too tightly so you don’t crack the mirror. You can find the replacements online or at a hardware store.

      Did you remove them🤔

    • @TammysHomeTips
      @TammysHomeTips  2 роки тому

      I actually did but my husband helped me replace them. You would remove one at a time. Place the framing strip and then go back with a new clip in the same spot. Mine were resting on the clips so my husband made sure to support the mirror while I went through the process. It worked fine for me.” this way. But I wouldn’t have done this without help.
