- Here's an easy way to transform your bathroom mirrors by framing them. I had to gel stain mine to match the cabinets but you could spray paint or stain and polyurethane them what ever color you like.

Here's the upper and lower moldings I used from Home Depot.

Very good tutorial! In fact, impressive! No wasting time with useless chit chat or overly descriptive comments. You taught me exactly what i needed to know. Thanks a million for a job well done. I have now subscribed. Regards from Ontario, Canada
Danielle Emslie Thank you so much for your comment, I appreciate it very much. Thanks again.
It does look good but you will never be able to remove the mirror without breaking it. Instead of liquid nails use a little clear silicone, and it will hold as long as you need and will still be removable. Otherwise it's a great idea!
@@RichardTShebora clear silicone adheres?!!!
I appreciate not having to miter the corners! Great, well explained video. Thanks.
Thank you
Exactly
This is simply amazing...I was looking at ways to make my project easier...I was dreading the 45 degree cut. But this looks so much easier. Thanks
+lenej9 I'm glad this video helped you out.
Thank you so much...in all these videos showing framing mirrors, no one shows what to do about the clips that stick out so far. This is perfect. Now I'm ready to frame my mirros.
Thank you
Let's all reflect on the great job he did.
Thank you :)
Ha. Reflect.
I see what you did there
: |
I like the look of the box cut vs the miter cut on the ends of the boards better. Looks great.
Thanks, yeah I didn't want it to look like a picture frame :)
I’m not handy with a saw, this turned out great & easy enough for me to do.
I'm so glad I watched this. I visualized the process completely wrong! It is a lot simpler than I was making it. Thank you!
Awesome, I'm glad the video was helpful.
I was originally looking for a DIY video that would explain how to take my mirrors down without breaking them, and then I was going to replace them with framed ones. So glad I saw this first. You just saved me lots of time and hassle. Thanks for the video!
+M Walker Your welcome, I'm glad the video helped you out.
I'm impressed. I like this a lot. Simple and wonderful looking!
I like how you told us not to go too far out with the spreading of the Liquid Nails. Good Advice, Thanks! You did a Great job👍🏾
👍
nice looking brushed nickel finish with multiple water spray options
Our master bathroom has a standing shower with handheld shower head.
We started to see some rust spots in the hose not to mention heavy mineral built ups in the shower head because our house has very hard water despite water softener we have.
My wife picked out this handheld shower head to replace our old one because she loves the brush nickel finish to match our bathroom decors but this turned out to be very impressive handheld shower head.
Although I have replaced shower heads many times in the past, it came with nice instruction on how to replace it for those who's not familiar with it. My only advise would be to use wrench to hold the base spout when removing and installing the holding adapter so you don't accidently twist and damage the base pipe when you over tighten it.
I really appreciate that it came with plenty of plumber's tape because you really want to put that on before connecting different parts so that there's no water leak in between threads. This is one of most common mistakes and reasons why there's leak after installing it. Very happy to see that they have provided plumber's tape to remind you to use it!
It also had rubber rings/washers in each connector but it also came with extra one, which is nice. They also included a shower drain cover to prevent hair from going in to the drainage, which is a nice bonus. I really love the brush nickel finish, which makes it look elegant and expensive. The 7 different water spray setting is nice to have so you can change it for different purpose. We will most likely leave it on one setting for most of the times but it's nice to have option to change it when needed, such as jet spray for cleaning the shower wall, etc.
After replacing the shower head, I didn't see any leak and the stainless steel hose feels sturdy. I also like that I can rotate and tilt the shower head holder and it stays in place. Overall, very happy with this shower head!

That was awesome. I was wondering how to work around the bulky plastic holding pieces at the top. Now I know. Your work came out great! Thanks so much!
I was going to replace my bathroom mirror. I’m so glad my spidey senses kicked in. The replacements I was looking at cost $150 each.
AWESOME JOB!
Awesome thank you
Excellent!!! And no cut, not nailing, no power tools for me (I know my limitations). This is E X A C T L Y what I was hunting for to dress up my bathroom. And the gel stain for the cabinet was a bonus suggestion! Love it.
Larene Brubaker Thank you, I'm glad this video helped you out.
Me too.
Were the cabinets you gel stained "real" wood or builder's special mdf-ish stuff?
Larene Brubaker The cabinet doors and face were real wood except for the cabinet ends, They were press board with a laminate face on it.
Thank you for this great video. Also great that you linked the molding so I could find it easily at Home Depot. I’m in the process of doing three mirrors. The first one came out great. Can’t wait to do the other 2. Thanks again for great video.
Thanks-you solved my problem about what to do with the plastic brackets-the washer idea is brilliant!
This is wonderful - thank you! The last person that owned the house I bought slapped a frame on the bathroom mirror but didn't paint the sides of the frame and so I have a white frame with unpainted sides - you just taught me how to take that ugly thing off and replace it with something I can be proud of...thanks again!
dlhiles Thank you and you're welcome.
Awesome work. Now since my wife has seen this it's been added to my honey do list. Thanks. Great job. Looks amazing.
+Mark Kellerman My wife is the same, but it will keep you busy and you'll have a great looking bathroom mirrors.
J NULL lol my husband too!
hahahah
Lmbo
wow you seriously just made it look easy enough that I can do this to my existing mirrors, thanks for sharing....
+rfn41 Awesome thanks.
All of your videos are wonderful. You take the time to actually do the work and walk us through the process. I will be applying your technique in my kitchen and bathroom makeover. Thanks for taking the time to make the video and for sharing. Your properties look amazing. A Job Well Done!
vj212442 Thank you so much, I greatly appreciate that.
Love it

Yes.. thank you for taking the time to make a video of the entire process. End result looks very nice. Now just replace the hideous vanity light bar and the bathroom will be perfect.
Love the way this looks and don’t have to worry about the mitered corners
Thanks. You made the install look quick, simple, low cost and easy.
Glad it helped
Great job I just want to re-frame my large living room mirror without needing a saw for corners. Exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you so much for this video! We followed your instructions and our whole bathroom looks better with the framed mirror. I wish I had thought to do this right when we bought our house.
That's awesome, I'm glad it turned out great.
Thanks so much for posting this and including all the details of how to do it properly. I’ve been looking for an easy way to frame out my bathroom mirrors and this is the best I’ve come across this far.
Hannah Bertzfield Thank you
Thank you so much for the idea! I'm redoing my bathroom now, and want to update the big mirror. Great Idea, and Great instructions! Tom O.
+Tom Obinger You're wecome.
I got my vanity done and it turned out great! I bought the molding to do the mirror and will do that this week sometime. I'm excited to see it all put together!! Thanks for all your help :)
Debi Sizemore Awesome! 👍
oh man, what a mess this is... My mirror is 7 1/2 ft... We tried attaching the bottom molding today and it would not stick...we braced it for five hours , still didn't hold .Any suggestions? We uses liquid nails extreme
That should of stuck to the mirror, of course 7 1/2 ft is long but I would try to brace it or use a long stick from one wall to the mirror frame to push it in place and let it dry for a day.
This trim really added to the over all effect, I LIKE IT, great job, thanks for the info. I am wanting to do a "simple trim" around my cold air return where the installer messed up the drywall, this will cover the chipping.
Glad it was helpful!
Since I've decided to rehab my home. And my budget is small. I love your videos. You make everything seem possible. Great video.
+Kim Thomas Thank you so much.
+Pete B. I woke up today so excited! Knowing it is possible to update my home and not have to apply for a huge loan!! You're awesome!
Very helpful! Thank you for not rushing. 👍
Glad it was helpful!
You made this look so easy ! I love the out come and will be doing this to both my mirrors! Thank you !
Thank you
You sir are a DIY WIZARD ! Keep up the good work two thumbs up ....I gotta go headed to Lowe's right now
Thank you 👍
Wow! Awesome Job! I just came across your video for something I want to do. I also stained my maple cabinets in an expresso color with the polyurethane already mixed in. Love the deep rich tone of them now. So now I'm taking this video with me to Home Depot and showing them exactly what you did, and telling them this is what I want. Thx so much! 😊
Awesome thank you 👍
I love it. I have two bathroom mirrors that badly need this. Monday I am getting a new vanity installed from Lowes. I then am going to try to do this to the builder grade mirror. I don't know where you live, however, I wish I could pay you to come to my house and do this for me.
You can do this or find some one to cut the boards and paint or stain them to match your cabinets.
Your step by step instruction was very clear and easy to follow. Thank you...!!
+Sompow Leadonn Thanks.
I was going to buy a new framed mirror for our bathroom but now I am going to do this. The mirror we have is great and thick so it’s nice to know I can frame it myself
👍
wow your mirrors look beautiful! thanks for the tip!
+howlingwolf vanessa Thank you and you're welcome
Looks really good. Job well done
You made it look easy. I love it.
Really nice. I m glad I found your video again. You made it simple and it looks great! I am nows ready to do this, thanks to your simple DIY.
Thank you 👍
You've got skills, I actually wanted my bathroom mirror just like this. I saw it on pinterest but of course I'm not Bob the builder so I would need to find someone to do it for me. Thanks for sharing. 💕💯
👍
I really appreciated the easy mounting method, thanks! I will definitely try this!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks so much I just bought a house and I need to install mirrors and I didn’t want to spend a ton of money.. I’ll DIY and do this in one of my bathrooms
Thank you
love it! Thank you for sharing step by step exactly what I want to my bathroom mirrors!
👍
Thanks for sharing. This is exactly the DIY I was looking for. Can’t wait to do my bathroom mirror now.
Glad it was helpful!
I would add some hot glue so the trim will stay in place while the liquid nail is curing. My experience is that liquid nail may pull apart due to gravity and the hot glue will hold it in place while it's drying.
👍
WOW!!! That looks Amazing - Great Tutorial!!! Thank you Sir.
Thank you.
I'm so happy I found this page....you do such good work...I'm going to make a project list of all the things I want to do after watching your videos :)
Awesome, thank you :)
That looks great. Have looked at a few here on the Tube but yours does not require a lot of tools and mitering, so will go with this. Thanks for posting.
Awesome, Thank you for watching :)
Excellent presentation 🥰
Thank you 👍
I love your vids! Working on gel staining my vanity cabinets (kitchen next) as we speak & wanted to frame our builder mirrors as well. Timely vid! Thanks so much & keep 'em coming..
MJsmom10 Thank you, I'll be coming out with a Traffic Master Ceramica Vinyl Tile Flooring installation soon.
Wow, that looks great! We need to reframe our mirror to hide some 'silvering" on the bottom of the mirror. I figure it's cheaper and less hassle to reframe it than to try and replace it.
I'm going to show my husband this video. :) Thanks!
👍
Hello Thank for your video It couldn't have came at a better time I'm a renter and I want to update this in the house that I'm renting and to have a landlord like your to give his tentats that hopeful other landlord are watching us renter surely do appreciate it.
Ms. O I'm glad you liked the video, I'm sure if you show your landlord this video that he'll let you update the mirrors. Any improvement like this is a plus for both you and the landlord.
Great work!!! Thanks for the step by step guide and esp getting rid of bulky plastic mirror holder.
Delkhaz Ahmed Thank you and you're welcome.
Now you need a dark light fixture. Nice job ty.
Great way of making an inexpensive custom frame. Thanks
+Dev N Thanks and you're welcome.
a huge improvement over frameless.
bgregg55 Thank you.
Great job Pete.
Thank you 👍
This is a great idea! Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge with us. This is something I can do myself.
thank you 👍
You can also make a scribe molding to slide under the side of the frame that isn't next to the wall.
Usually, it is release the clips and take the mirror out. But, given the clips will be gone after you put these beautiful frames, how are we going to remove the mirror, should there be a need to do so. Thanks once again for the video. It is very helpful indeed. I am contemplating to do something similar.
Great idea! Huge difference and so easy.
Thanks
I do like. I thought about assembling the frame 1st with pocket screws and the attaching it the mirror but this simpler looks easier
👍
Beautiful! Totally doing this to my bathroom mirror. thank you for the easy tutorial 👌🏽
Thank you
So I just did my upstairs bath mirror. Took a while to stain it. Anyway, fairly happy at this point, just hoping it dries ok. The only issue is that the top frame still isn't as level as it should be. I replaced the plastic top mirror holders with the washers, just like you did. But very top of the frame stick out a bit, because the depth of the screws and washers is still too much. The liquid nails seems to be working, but appears to only be holding it on by the lower portion that is flush with the mirror. The top part is not, unfortunately. I tried to copy you as well as I could, but this part was a mystery. I did this smaller mirror as a test. I want to do our master bath next, but that is a crazy big mirror.
+Jeff B I used a sheet metal flat head type screw with a washer and that was good enough. I'd leave it alone If it doesn't look bad. The liquid nail should hold the top piece just fine, but if you want to replace it, try using the sheet metal flat head screws. Not sure how well the liquid nail will come off.
This looks great, and the tutorial very helpful. My only hesitation is what to do when you want to take the mirror down for some reason (to paint the bathroom)? With the molding glued over the screws that are holding the mirror to the wall... I'm not doing this to flip a house, and every 10 years or so, the bathroom gets redecorated.
If the mirror is not too big, you could use a good quality silicon rubber adhesive to hold the frame.
Very helpful video and great job, very professional looking results.
Thank you!
Love it ur video couldn't have come at a better time im updating my home and those new builder plain mirrors where annoying me so im definitely gonna do this..thanks for the walkthrough all ur videos are very informative
patty gonzalez Thanks, I'm glad you liked the video.
This was a very good DIY. I am doing same project in my own home. Stay away from Command Strips people on any project over 5 pds.
. .
👍
I've watched a couple of your videos and really learned a lot! Thank you for sharing
Thank you 👍
It looks great, even better if you change out the cheap lights. Thanks
Eye on art Thanks
omg!! I have a lot of work to do!! Thanks, Papa Pete
👍🙂
Brilliant! And of course, thanks for sharing the knowhow.
That looks great. 👍thanks for sharing.
It looks really nice
Thank you
Looks good and it eould have been better if a return was cut on the top and bottom piece. A nicely cut return would cause the profile to wrap around the sides instead leaving endgrain and is really nice detail which I think is worth the extra effort even if it is a little more difficult.
Looks so nice. You gave me an idea for my bathroom. Thanks!
You're welcome
Thanks for this video! I am not a DIY kind of girl but I believe I could do this.
+BigRedH85 You can do it!
It works! It was the easiest of my bathroom redo.
Vonnie C awesome 👍
What’s your formula for doing the measurements?
If your going to glue something to glass you should first mask off the edges of the mirror then use a multi tool to sand the part of the mirror where the frame is to be glued. Make sure you don't sand so you can see the sanded area when you install your frame. Glass is a very slick surface and needs to be roughed up before applying glue.
Good point but the liquid nail holds really well, and of coarse if later you decide to take them off it will be easier to take off.....hopefully :)
No need to sand the mirror! Liquid nails holds perfectly fine to the glass. Don't make it more difficult then it has to be.....
Just what I was looking for.. Great job!!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Pete B., Thanks so much for this video! It covered everything I needed to know, and that I have been looking for. Thank you!
GVGIRL awesome, thank you
What is securing the mirror on the bottom? Mine is in a track, that's secured to the wall, will this still work with the track?
I’ll Be doing this this weekend. Thanks!
Awesome 👍
Nice! Do you have the video how you gel stain the vanity?
ua-cam.com/video/plePW69gKcw/v-deo.html
2022-thank you for this
It will give my bathroom some class
I love it. Another great video. I had a question. Why did you cut the trim a few inches longer and how many inches is a few inches? Did you do this to make sure it would cover the mirror? Why didn't you just go with the measurements of the mirror? Thanks
If you have the room, I would go a 1/2 inch or so longer on each side so you don't see the edge of the mirror plus it will make the mirror look a little bigger.
A bit late but thank you for the video 😄 exactly what I was looking for even though I’m sure it was cheaper 5 years ago I’m still doing it this weekend
Great idea & I think it looks great.
Robert DeMilo Thank you.
It’s great but I still see some edges; perhaps you could have cut it into 45 degrees angle? Overall it’s much easier to do it your way without any extra tools. Great job and thanks for sharing.
With this method you can still see the edge of the mirror since you're just gluing trim on top of it (not truly framing it), but good enough for a rental. With the gel stain to you get any grain like appearance?
Also why use a rag for the poly vs brush? Does it give a better finish?
You can't see the edge of the mirror because the frame is about 1/2 inch over the edge. This gel stain will not show the wood grain unless it's textured because I painted it on. Using a brush to apply the poly will create bubbles and a rag or an old sock won't.
Yes, interesting how you skipped the 45% cut and then the issue of joining the ends, your pick of molding made it unnecessary while at the same time making it look good, I will try it on my mirror , thanks
Do you see any problem with turning the bottom moulding upside down (so that the thicker ledge is facing down)? Also, is the polyurethane to add sheen or does it protect the wood in the moist enviromment? thanks so much for posting this video- your mirrors look great!
You can put the molding anyway you feel it will look good. You only have to polyurethane them if you gel stain or use regular stain but not necessary if you paint them. Thank you so much for watching.
Beautiful 😍
Beautiful!
How will you take the mirror off the wall
Your end result is just beautiful! Please explain the type of respirator you'd use for spray painting. I'd rather not spend much if possible. Thanks!
Anna Reviewer Thank you, you could go to home depot or Lowe's in the paint department and buy the dust mask that have carbon in the mask. They will help eliminate the paint smell.
OR you could actually used the liquid nails you are using to attach the trim pieces to the mirror to attach the mirror to the wall... interesting choice of different moldings too.
Im so doing this, will use the decorative trim pieces.
Christina Jenkins 👍
