Lease brother. It’s not so bad. Plus you just don’t give the car back to who you got it from. That way you can say no to all the little things they try to add on “like scratch protection “ stuff like that. Every time I lease for 2-3 years I get anywhere from $3000-$5000 back from whoever buys my loan off me. You’re paying for half the car so the payments are half of what it would cost. Also I never put money down on a lease. I go in with $0 and leave with a car every time.

Prices of used Veloster Ns are coming down - an even better performance bargain, if you don't mind the Fisher Price interior. Incoming rant: 25:31 - 100% agree. The way the Elantra N is positioned, renders Civic Si's purpose as a value performance car, moot. In Canada, the N is 4k more than the Si and the WRX is cheaper than the Si by 2 grand, has more power and adds AWD. Elantra N highlights just how uncompetitive the Civic Si is now, price-wise and performance. Even the N-line trim matches the Si in performance; not only that, but even within Honda's lineup, the new hybrid matches the Si in horsepower but adds 40 lb-ft of torque, while getting 50 MPG. Elantra N is the answer unless you must have AWD and can stomach Subaru styling/touch HVAC.
I have actually been thinking about this car a lot. I think it would make a good daily driver that I can take to the track occasionally. Now that I’m putting a lot of miles on, the warranty is way more attractive. Unfortunately, I can’t find one locally to test drive and I’m still waiting for a service manager to tell me if driving it like it’s supposed to be driven will void the warranty.

No, Hyundai does not have a pedigree or heritage. But, Hyundai has made some changes and the Elantra N is legit. There was a time when we made fun of Honda, too. Good vid Matt. I've got three questions about your choice of a Hyundai over a Subaru for a real world buyer. 1. Hyundai's reliability is not considered as good as Subaru's, Toyota's, or Honda's. Do you agree? 2. What about the Hyundai theft issue? The "Tic-Tok" hack from a few years ago comes to mind. There is a new one called the "Game Boy" hack. If I was considering one of these cars, I would be concerned, wouldn't you be? 3. Hyundai's resale values are nowhere near as good as the Japanese or German competition. This can cost the buyer thousands of dollars. Is this not a big factor in the overall cost of ownership?
Reliability might be iffy for Hyundai in general, but these are built in Korea, not the Alabama plant, and it seems most people aren’t having any serious issues, you also have a 10yr warranty. The new Hyundais with push to start also are not susceptible to the easy theft hacks - sure you can argue that they may still be broken into if a thief doesn’t realize, but it wouldn’t be stolen. Yeah, its the absolute stupidest ECU strategy I have ever seen. My co-worked had a 2023 for a short time. Anytime we would race or go to the track together he would have to go through the crazy song\dance just to make it perform how it should. Why is hyundai so dumb? The tune should start off at full power and back its way off IF NEEDED using the knock sensors just like every other car brand in the world. Nope, not them. They make you jump though hoops and ask the car for special permission to get full power. And even then still get whooped by a stock 2022 BRZ with no turbo and much less power.😂
@boost331 whooped when OL'd🤔 My g/f has lowly 2018 Cruize, 1.4L turbo and it's tuned for 87 but when you put 89 or 93 in it it wakes up immediately (as much as that little engine can) so WTF🙄🙄🙄
@@klasseact6663 Yep. We did tons of pulls from a dig, 40 roll, 60 roll. Competed on auto x courses and a couple times on Road America.
Lastly, if you look at used Elantra Ns, Kona Ns, or Veloster Ns, they hold value really well. 2022/23 ENs with
@@juiceton1029 Check out 2022 Civic Si prices. Yes, the poor underpowered Si that no reviewer recommends. They are selling for just a little under their original sticker price
@@tototronic2 I bought a 23 EN for 35K 1.5 years ago, looking online it seems like they’re going for 32-34 with more miles than I have. I think most of the cheaper sports cars hold value relatively well the first 3-5 years - SI, Type R, GR86, EN / KN / VN, STI/WRX. It’s when you go luxury that you see that crazy depreciation right off the lot. It’s a nice problem to have as an owner of a new one, not so much if you’re looking to get into one used!
I agree with everything Juice said and would have said all the same stuff.

Ok. But the Hyundai / Kia theft issues continue to this day. The manufacturers should recall the affected cars and fix the serious security lapse. If it's suddenly impossible or too expensive to insure your car because of this sort of thing, what must that do to resale value? I would never buy or recommend a Hyundai product because of this.

Looks like Spiderman or Superman colors 😂
the front of the car is improved but the rear, I really don't like this look
Not flirting but u make that car look HOT…
Just get rid of the lines on the side and this car is perfect!!
The older edition was divisive but gave it some personality. This looks a little too basic to me
I would buy the elantra over the civic or the corolla but its not as nice looking as my 86!
Unfortunately, the car has to be octane learned to get maximum performance🙄🤷♂️
Yeah, its the absolute stupidest ECU strategy I have ever seen. My co-worked had a 2023 for a short time. Anytime we would race or go to the track together he would have to go through the crazy song\dance just to make it perform how it should. Why is hyundai so dumb? The tune should start off at full power and back its way off IF NEEDED using the knock sensors just like every other car brand in the world. Nope, not them. They make you jump though hoops and ask the car for special permission to get full power. And even then still get whooped by a stock 2022 BRZ with no turbo and much less power.😂
@boost331 whooped when OL'd🤔
My g/f has lowly 2018 Cruize, 1.4L turbo and it's tuned for 87 but when you put 89 or 93 in it it wakes up immediately (as much as that little engine can) so WTF🙄🙄🙄
@@klasseact6663 Yep. We did tons of pulls from a dig, 40 roll, 60 roll. Competed on auto x courses and a couple times on Road America. My stock 2022 BRZ (except upgraded brake pads) beat him every time. The straight line performance was very close, but I would inch away. On track, it wasnt even close.
@@boost331Stock 2022 BRZ does not come remotely close to the EN’s straight line speed even when it’s not octane learned.
@boost331 Not hating on your delusional comment or anything but your friend probably has an 1.6 N-line. Even then your shitbox BRZ won't have a chance in the straight line or track.😅
New front fascia is improvement. I don't care for black badging. I prefer plug in and not wireless apple car play for easier privacy, though I realize the rest of the world disagrees. Matt enjoys stick shift standard transmissions.
GTI over this all day every day without second thought

The colored trim and exhaust tips are kinda cheesy IMO, leave that for the teenagers buying it used in 15yrs for cheap.
