There are times when I can't differentiate them. They blend so perfectly, a really terrific performance and recording. One of Barbra's best duets for sure.
Celine did the talk show circuit after this. Among other things, she said that when Barbra called her to talk about this, she was all tongue-tied because her idol had called. Barbra said she knew exactly how she felt, because she felt that way when she sang with Judy Garland.
This title was released in 1997. Barbara was 55 at the time, Celine 31. In case you didn't know, Barbara is a singer, actor, director, producer, songwriter .... I love both their voices
Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond - You Don't Bring Me Flowers, Barbara Streisand and Barry Gibb - Guilty, Barbra Streisand, Donna Summer- No More Tears
Another fire duet is Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer “No More Tears (Enough is Enough)” from 1979. They both slay this song! Make sure it is the extended version though.
Barbra is married to James Brolin. They have a blended family including James's son Josh. So essentially she's Thanos' step mother. Lol. IF you watched The Amityville Horror (1979) James plays George Lutz. Barbra is a great woman. She's a singer, director, actress and a decent human being. I'm glad you liked this one.
I always laugh about the scene from Friends, where Rachel found out she was pregnant but Phoebe pretends she’s the pregnant one so the others don’t find out. When they ask who the father is, Phoebe says James Brolin. And Chandler is like, “you mean Barbra Streisand’s husband, James Brolin?” 😄
Celine Dion is one of (FEW) of my favorite female vocalists - and so is Barbara Streisand. I had a personal confrontation with Barbara Streisand...when I was doing treework in Greenwich, CT. Can't say it was pleasant. But I still respect the intensity of her voice. I once told a co-worker that I thought Celine Dion was the next Barbara Streisand - he laughed at me. But this collaboration shows that I was exactly right. People have criticized my musical taste all my life, but I will stand for it! John Denver, America, GLADYS KNIGHT...screw you all if you don't like it _ I'll stand by it until I die!
For many years…there was no female vocalist that could even compare to Barbra. Celine Dion changes that. Celine idolized Barbra. Their duet was pure perfection! No one could duplicate this!
BARBARA HAS WON GRAMMYS , EMMYS, OSCARS FOR BEST ACTRESS AND DIRECTOR, A D TONY AWARDS , BARBARA HAS SOLD OVER 150 MILLION ALBUM WORLDWIDE.... WE WILL NEVER SEE A TALENT LIKE THIS AGAIN , SHE DID IT ALL...NOBODY CAME CLOSE TO THE TALENT BARBARA HAD.....
That's exactly right!!! This was all about a conversation between a mother and her daughter. David Foster, who had produced both artists during their careers, wrote the song specifically for Celine to perform with Barbra as it was a lifelong dream of her's to sing with her idol, so David made it happen. The song was actually written by David, Linda Thompson (Elvis' one-timw girlfriend), and Celine. Since there's a 26-year difference between the two ladies (Celine was 29, Barbra 55), the lyrics were perfect. Celine's voice is stunning, but I agree with you, there's something other-worldly coming from Streisand's throat. I compare it to singing in 3D, while everyone else is in 2D. She's so very special. Definitely agree with several other posters, Barbra's duet with Donna Summer, "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)" [long version] is a drf must!
Celine Dion grew up listening to Streisand a music and aspiring to sing like her. Celine was born in Quebec, Canada on 1968. She was married to Rene Angelil ( her much older.manager. They have 2 children. Rene died several years ago) Barbra Streisand was born in 1942 and grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y. She got her start in nightclubs, Broadway and tv. Barbra is a singer, songwriter, actress, director and producer. She was married to the actor, Elliot Gould ( 1963- 1971). and they have 1 son. She didn't get married again until 1998 to actor, James Brolin ( they are still married) Barbra is in her 80's now and still working. Check out a young Barbra doing a duet with Judy Garland, "Happy Days are Here Again/Get Happy" on tv. ( vIdeo.... black and white) (Judy Garland is the original singer of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow from n the Wizard of Oz movie) *Barbra Streisand songs: " The Way We Were", "People", " Memories", "Somewhere", "A Woman In Love" (written by Barry and Robyn Gibb). ( videos of her signing whenever possible) *Duets: w/ Neil Diamond........."You Dont a bring Me Flowers Anymore" w/Barry Gibb..............."Guilty". (video) w/Donna Summer....."No More Tears ( Enough is Enough).....the extended version You may know her acting from "Meet The Fockers". If you are interested in seeing how amazingly talented she is I suggest you watch her movie, " Funny Girl" this movie runs the full gammit.from drsma, romance to comedy and several different typrs of songs.....Don't Rain on My Parade, People.and My Man.being the top.3. Barbra KS one of online few performrrs/entertainers to have won the prestigious EGOT....Emmy, Gra!my, Oscar and Tony Awards. (Whoopi Goldberg is another). She had sold over 150 million albums. If you look her up her list of accomplishments is very long. Barbra also starred in the 1970's version of the movie, "A Star Is Born" with Kris Kristofferson ( country singer and member of the group the Highwaymen ). Sorry I tend to go on and on, but that's who I am. I like to inform when I can. Love your reactions.and love the look of amazement you show.when you discover someone or band for the first time. So much talent out there, keep discovering it.
Celine and Rene have 3 boys. The 2 youngest are twins. Barbra said when she did this duet with Celine it reminded her of her singing with Judy Garland. She admired Judy very much.
Baba is in her 80s. Here she was probably in her 50s. If you want some Barbra grit then listen to her re release CRY ME A RIVER live at the Bon Soir Greenwich Village. 1962. She was young and relatively unknown. They didn't know what was about to happen.
Barbra Streisand has been one of my favorite singers since I first heard her live 1972. She’s a great singer was one of America’s best singers and continues to be one. He’s also an awesome actress. Her catalog is extensive.
You'll close the loop when you hear the duet of a young Barbra Streisand with an older Judy Garland. Somehow it feels like passing the torch between legends. Men's sense of power is power over but for women it's power with. ❤
They're not competing, they're supporting each other. Barbara is playing the role of the older more confident woman and she is giving wise advice to the younger and less sure woman played by Celine.
As a fan of both..I never felt this was as good as it could have been..the song itself is not good enough. Have to disagree with that "greatest female duet ever". imo this doesn't beat .... Natalie Dessay & Cecilia Bartoli - Duetto
@@reddragonready you can lmo if you like, im basing it off what i have heard, those artist you have mentioned i dont know, or have i ever heard, or from what era, so i think it was disrepectful to lmo, i come from the 70's80;s and 90's era, after that, i lost track of music, it was not the same to me,
I think Barbra and Celine both know they are two of the most amazing voices ever so there is no insecurity. They both seem to appreciate each other. ❤️
My favorite Barbra Streisand movie is her version of A Star is Born. Listen to that soundtrack! Evergreen/ Are you Watching me now! Barbra is 83ish. We saw more Barbra because she has an EGOT! that's Emmy,Grammy, Oscar , Tony.
Barbra is married to James Brolin. Look him up, he's famous actor, they have been married for over 25 years. Her first husband was Elliott Gould, also a famous actor best known for the role in the MASH. They have one son together, Jason!
To answer your question - Celine was 29 and Barbra 55 when they collaborated on this song. I cannot count on one hand the number of duets Barbra has had with other famous singers. Donna Summer, Neil Diamond, Barry Gibb, Bryan Adams and Ray Charles to name a few.
Of course Celine Dion's voice is so beautiful and she is an amazing singer, but truly, Barbara Streisand is an icon NEVER to be surpassed. I listened to her albums when I was young and I've never heard anyone who can make the chills on my arms like Barbara Streisand and I'm 64. Barbra Streisand is gorgeous in my opinion. She's married to actor James Brolin and he's pretty easy on the eyes, too. I would recommend Bryan Adams and Barbra Streisand singing "I Finally Found Someone." It's from the movie The Mirror Has Two Faces, which Barbra stars in. I would also recommend Vince Gill and Barbra singing "If You Ever Leave Me." I promise you will be blown away by both of those duets. And hey, watch the movie I mentioned too. It's so good.
Barbra has been my favorite female singer since I was 16 years old. I am now 68 and she still is. She sang a duet with Neil Diamond called 'You Don't Bring Me Flowers' you would love.
One of the things which make Barbara Streisand such a unique and wonderfully amazing singer is the way she sings like shes having a conversation.. this is a masterclass by two of the greatest vocalists ever.. ❤
Barbara Streisand and Celine Dion, Wow! I think they could sing the alphabet and make it amazing. Barbara is a year younger than my Mom and I'm 61. So, I literally grew up listening to her music and watchibg her movies. She is hilarious! Wikipedia says "With a career spanning over six decades, she has achieved success across multiple fields of entertainment, being among the first performers awarded an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (EGOT)." She has won awards well over 100. You would probably enjoy her movies with your whole family.(except A Star is born" and "Yentel.both excellent, but not family movies)." Obviously, I'm a huge fan! Great Review! ❤Love you man❤
The look on your face when Barbra started singing, lmao, it's how I feel EVERYTIME I hear her. She's a masterclass in and of herself. It's just so amazing. One of my favorite songs ever.
To me it's about two friends getting together and one loves someone but is too shy to tell him, and the friend says go for it or you'll never know what could happen. Great voices.
They are the Superstar powerful vocalists of their Generations Barbara came first and then Saline they're both marvelous the range on vocal power is so amazing to be astonishing.
Another content creator reacted to Barbra Streisand's "Honey, Can I Put on Your Clothes?" (1978) and he said that this song should have been played on black radio back in the day. To be honest, I don't know if it was played on any radio station back in the day, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on the song. It is Streisand at her sensual, soulful best.
So we’re really not gonna talk about the level of sexy when Barbra put her glasses on? 😂 I love this! Brings back great memories of watching this with my momma… rip
Two amazingly gifted nightengales. I have been following Barbra's career all along, as well as s her humanitarian projects. She us all around a noble soul trying to lift humanity higher. She is in her early 80's now. 😌💜
9:56 Yes, that's REAL! Celine Dion and Luciano Pavarotti had a great duet together called 'I Hate You Then I Love You.' You definitely have to check it out, you won't regret it
This duet is incredible! Barbra did many duets. You will be blown away by the one with Donna Summers! As others have said, be sure to get the extended version - it just takes off!!
Some have said that this was a screaming competition by 2 of the greatest divas of all time while others have said that this was probably the best collaboration between The 2 greatest divas of their time. I just loved this collaboration and wish they can come together again soon.
All I know is... both of these women are amazing singers... and their voices match so well together its truly an extraordinary event having these 2 do a duet together.
What you just witnessed was two powerhouse women with unbelievable talent complimenting each others abilities. Barbra is married to James Brolin since 1998.
Celine always wanted to sing with Barbra and grew up inspired by her. David Foster composed this. Listen to Barbra Streisand’s “My Man” from Funny Girl! You’d be soooo wow’d!!! Barbra is married to James Brolin! ❤❤
This song was written for them to perform together. Barbra had to miss a performance nearly last minute and asked Celine to step in. After a wonderful performance Barbra asked her songwriter to write a song for them to perform.
Barber is some where in her 70's. I was just a little girl when she was in Funny girl and Funny Lady. She also did Yentl. She has always been a powerhouse.
It’s probably not your next Barbra Streisand, but I would be curious as to your reaction to Stephen Sondheim’s “Putting It Together.” It is a song about creative process. There are so many huge Streisand songs. Common songs reactors often do are The Way We Were, Evergreen, You Don’t Bring Me Flowers.
Magnificent voices and singing together the harmonies are other worldly. Neither is better than the other - they have perfect pitch, strength and absolute control - the high notes are wonderful but the softer, quiet notes are perfectly delivered. They are both wow and together wow, wow!!
They're not competing, they're complimenting each other. Their voices work so well with each other. I wish they had done more together.
Absolutely not a competition🤣
Yes! I just wrote a similar response, and then I saw your comment....
Exactly what I was thinking ..... Why compete when together they are perfection. This song needs two singers..
There are times when I can't differentiate them. They blend so perfectly, a really terrific performance and recording. One of Barbra's best duets for sure.
I agree but I would say they are pushing eachother . “Don’t let me beat you “ where in thought they are both saying. Ahhhh this is crazy and fun
One of the GREATEST duets of ALL time!! 👍💓
Celine was a huge Barbra fan.. they compliment each other beautifully
Was? Both are still very much with us, though Céline is no longer singing...
Celine did the talk show circuit after this. Among other things, she said that when Barbra called her to talk about this, she was all tongue-tied because her idol had called. Barbra said she knew exactly how she felt, because she felt that way when she sang with Judy Garland.
It was supposed to be an older lady advising a younger one. They are the two greatest singers of all time.
This title was released in 1997. Barbara was 55 at the time, Celine 31. In case you didn't know, Barbara is a singer, actor, director, producer, songwriter ....

All I know is... both of these women are amazing singers... and their voices match so well together its truly an extraordinary event having these 2 do a duet together.
"I Hate You, I Love You" IS WORTH IT!!! My dad and I like to sing it together lol
They both have fantastic 👏voices 👌But my idol has always been Barbra ❤
Two iconic voices. Streisand did many musicals- on Broadway and in movies.
I may be more of a classic rock fan, but this song is so incredibly beautiful ❤
Barbra Streisand has been married to James Brolin (an actor) for almost 25 years
Say it again… watch duet of Barbra and Donna Summer (Queen of Disco) - “No More Tears”. That collab will blow your mind. Promise.
Barbra--Evergreen.....Celine with Andrea Bocelli "the prayer"
Celine was seriously fan girling when she did this Barbara was her hero
What you just witnessed was two powerhouse women with unbelievable talent complimenting each others abilities. Barbra is married to James Brolin since 1998.
Celine always wanted to sing with Barbra and grew up inspired by her. David Foster composed this.
Listen to Barbra Streisand’s “My Man” from Funny Girl! You’d be soooo wow’d!!!
Barbra is married to James Brolin!
❤❤
one of the most beautiful duets EVER!
Streisand and Donna Summer slayed a disco banger back in the day. No More Tears (enough is enough)
I grew up listening to Barbra Streisand and all these decades later she is still in a class of her own. ❤❤❤❤❤
They look like they're having so much fun!
Barbara was a huge inspiration because Celines mother loved Barbara so Celine heard her very young! ❤🇨🇦
Good morning, from Vancouver BC 🇨🇦 I love Céline and Barbara ' ❤ both my favorites'
A reaction to her live performance of All By Myself or The Power Of Love will only further blow you away. Her voice is like no other!
They both have great voices they are collaborating
Every man wants this, no lies.
