Agree, I love being a woman. All of it. I loved being at home, creating a home / knowing that my kids and husband came in when it was cold and snowing, smelling something cooking and looking forward to getting there. The house was cozy and warm. The dog was there to listen to my daughter’s problems so I could eavesdrop. Not sure how you can watch this video with one of the best, most beautiful women, and be continually caught up on the guys. This video came out in the '90's and 30 years later she is just as gorgeous.
Released in 1997. Don't take every song so seriously. Sometimes it is just a song. With her older sister already out of the house, busy and married with two kids of her own, Shania took on the responsibility of raising Carrie Ann, Darryl and Mark following the death of their parents. At 21, she took the responsibility to raise and care for her 3 younger siblings.
This song actually got me down the "country" rabbit hole when I moved to a "cow town" 😉 Ft. Collins! LOL... This is from 1997!! No one was questioning danged genders & stuff! You MUST watch Robert Palmers "Addicted to Love" for the visuals to understand where the Chads come in. (; Shania Twain is GORGEOUS & has an AMAZING voice. And she's currently touring too! ❤
I laugh every time I see this! It is a funny parody! In all seriousness, the best part of being a woman is doing it all and doing it well, whether it is career, motherhood, wife or friend.
There was a time in the late 90's and early 00's, where if you were at the club and the dj played the opening "duh-duh, da-duh, duh-dunt-dunt"....the women in would flood from the bar to the dance floor and start singing full throated with the song...a dance floor that had maybe two or three people on it, suddenly had 30-40 women, drinks in hand, shaking and singing to the song. Every time I hear this song, that memory comes back to me. They'd usually follow it up with The Divinyls "I Touch Myself" which got the women even more into the mood, and then Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" or "I Drove All Night".
it's rare that i'm legit "fangirling" to any celebrities or whatever man, but Shania Twain. god dammit...how beautiful was that woman in her prime days. It's crazy...she's clearly was one of the most beautiful woman out there imo. On top of the beauty, she's a gem. She knows the struggles of life, she's down to earth, she worked her ass off and deserve every single moments of success she had and still have today. Props to her, and i'm glad that a person like her got to reach the fame she got. She brought country music to new heights, and is one of the reason why even today, country music is where it's at.
Shania was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2003 and almost lost her voice. She battled back and i believe has a Vegas residency in 2024. She is amazing to see in concert, ive seen her twice.
Shania Twain is a very classy woman. This was just a fun song. Don’t take it to seriously. The best part of being a woman for me is being a wife and mother and building a loving home for my family. I’m just old school like that.
Shania hit the country music scene in 1995. Her first hit was "Any Man of Mine". It is a fun, upbeat song, about a woman's expectations in a man. She had a wholesome "girl next door" vibe; but got in trouble for being the first country female to show her bellybutton.
Shania was “The Perfect Woman “, seriously, and now there’s a Shania Barbie doll. Shania Twain was seriously crossover, her songs were blasted on the radio All The Time and she puts on an incredible concert. She had the best girl anthems! Thank you for sharing.
I love Shania! She always brought Female Empowerment and showed vulnerability in her ballads. She's beautiful inside and out and had a tough childhood. Any Man of Mine is another great song of hers. 💗✊️
Back when a woman was a woman, and people knew it. It mimics Robert Palmers videos “Addicted To Love” and “Simply Irresistible” worth checking them out. 🔥🔥🔥
It was a parody of a Robert Palmer Song.. so she was actually playing the male part (Robert's Part) while the guys played the background role that the women played in Robert Palmer's Video. So it's sort of the opposite of what you said. Check out Robert Plant's Addicted to Love for reference.
Check out some of her other work. She not only has an amazing voice, she was homeless for a while because she was determined to keep her siblings together and out of the foster system; a beautiful soul.
..and, YES: Shania Twain is a stunningly BEAUTIFUL and TALENTED LADY!! I liked her songs: That Don't Impress Me Much, You're Still The One, Any Man Of Mine, From This Moment On, Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under... I think she's FIRE!!
Being a woman is the right to be tender and tough, serious and silly, and everything in between. Women have fought hard to have their rights, the same as the fight for racial rights and anyone who had to fight to just being seen as an equal.
She turns country music up side down in the 90's. She seems to have fun doing the videos. "That Don't Impress Me Much" is a good one. I can't remember the song, but she did one video where she brought an entire dance class on set and let them roll with the song. Loved her music, enjoyed her videos!
The best feminine anthem of the 90's. Shaina Twain was known for being one of the first rock/country artists. Her first album was very country but all of the rest after were more rock. This gave her a broader audience. She has a lot of bangers.
Patsy Cline with "I Fall To Pieces" 1961 crossed over to pop. The song reached #1 on country and #12 on pop. Dolly Parton with " Here 'You Come Again" 1977 reached #1 on country and #3 on pop. Linda Ronstadt with "Blue Bayou" 1977 #3 pop, #2 country and #3 easy listening. Conclusion many singers crossed over from country to rock or visa versa.
@@hoosiernationsindiana2085 And Dolly Parton wrote the great hit "I Will Always Love You" back in the 70's that the late great Whitney Houston made even more famous.
~ When Shania went to Nashville the record producer wanted her to change her name ....sooooo... Shania is a girl's name of Native American origin-believed to be Ojibwa-and means “I'm on my way.” Her stepfather was of Ojibwa Native Indian heritage which is why she picked that name for her music career in his honor. Her real name was Eileen Regina Edwards when she was born .... her stepfather's last name was Twain and he adopted her and that is how she got her last name.
Don't worry about stepping on peoples toes. Call um like you see them. This "I'm offended" by what ever is out of control. As long as you speak in a respectful way to people is what counts. No one should be offended by the words you use. It's on them, not you. PS I am a Baby Boomer, turning 75 in a few months.
One people forgot to mention is that Shania raised her 8 siblings through her music. She was country. Part of being a woman feeling great about yourself and feeling sexy.
I AM a true Boomer - 74 and I think you're great! I love how you speak so lovingly about your wife and being a dad! There's nothing more important. I'm enjoying your reactions!
I'm a 65 year old woman. My adult son was the designated driver for my gal pal and me to go to a Nationals (her team) @ Orioles (my team) game. The last thing he said before we went in the stadium was, "I'm going to need y'all to behave yourselves tonight. I know I can handle 'Drunk Mama.' I'm pretty sure I can handle 'Drunk Ms C.' But I'm not sure if I can handle 'Drunk Mama' AND 'Drunk Ms C,' and I can't afford to throw bail for y'all, so behave!"
I don't think there is confusion now, either. If you are talking about the new Supreme Court Justice and her being grilled by Blackburn, well, what many men don't seem to get is that Brown's answer was sarcasm. She (as well as many people as well) thought it a stupid question and deserved sarcasm. But, men just don't get it.
@@DianeLake-sw3ym yeah, because sarcasm is completely appropriate in that setting?? I don’t believe that, but thank you for womansplaining to me (yes, I assumed your gender).
Best part of being a woman is the freedom we have now from the freedom of decades back. We are free to do what we want, not constrained by what men think we should be. At 60, I treasure that.
F that. I’m exhausted. I don’t want it all and resent the fact I am unable to stay home and raise my kids. You didn’t release us. You shackled us. No way to live on one income any longer.
Yes, exactly what I said! The best part of a woman is absolutely personal to each individual woman and what they love most about themselves or find most valuable. For some it's being able to be a mother, others it's their ability to be kind and gentle, or show strength in even the toughest times or manage a household or have a great career, or both.
So Right! How can a person try to pin point the one thing that's the best part of being a woman? It can't be done. To each their own is the best way to explain it. I'm a man and i get it. I encourage what ever makes women the happiest. My best friend is a woman and her last boyfriend couldn't understand that she has a best friend that happens to be a man. He's gone now and low and behold, we are still best friends. If people don't like it they can kiss my as i was saying, i encourage women to pursue what ever it is that makes them happy. The End.
Shania is a favorite daughter of Canada. She was born in Canada, raised in Canada, and became a star in Canada before traveling south. As such she took her Canadian home grown traits with her when crossing, traits such as truthful, honesty, integrity, creativity, and ingenuity. The US did not know what to do with her at first and then succumbed. Shania and the US record industry never looked back from that point forward.
Love Shania. She has a beautiful heart and is beautiful inside and out. She truly did get heart broke from her first marriage. It was a tough go for her, but she pulled through it all like a trooper. My hat goes out to this wonderful lady. Love her songs, as I have them all. You should check out the rest of her songs. You do not have to put them on air just enjoy them. Thanks for this.
The new New York City in my 20s when this came out it was absolutely a girls going out anthem - great great album!!! I love Shania. And she was out when country and western was all over the place / I think Shania was part of the reason it was being played all over the place - even New York City, had denim and diamonds… It was a good time :)
So, the video was a shout out (kind of) to Robert Palmer. And holy shit. That is a fine woman with a fantastic voice! She has a ton of great songs, tbh. Great reaction, sir🤓🤠👊🏼
When this song came out no one was asking what a woman was. We all knew what a woman was, she was just saying how she felt by being one. Things were so much more simple back then when the crazy left was not in control of that part of our world.
i love that you can always feel that she is coming from the country genre before going into pop. You can really hear or at least feel it in every of her pop songs.
You need to watch Robert Palmer’s ‘Addicted to Love’ video. This is sending that one up… I loved the album this came from. Great fun songs. Great voice. And let’s face it, she looks killer. What most people don’t realise is that she broke thru a lot older than most people/women do, had kids, and record companies didn’t think she was marketable. Were they deaf and blind?! There’s a documentary on her abusive family life and how she had to work to get accepted, esp in the country genre when she’s from Canada and ‘older’ than the usual breakthru artist.
Shania was several years away from giving birth to her first and only child when she released this. She's a really good songwriter. As well as being stunningly beautiful, especially in the 90s, and I assume the 80s also. You should read about her life growing up--it was pretty hard, and she was working throughout her childhood. You should read also about the end of her marriage to her producer and co-songwriter husband, Robert Mutt Lang, and her subsequent marriage--quite a turn of events. She found out, after all their success, that her husband was cheating on her with her best friend. Shania and her best friend's cuckold husband started commiserating with each other and became romantically involved and then married--they are still married.
I was in 5th or 6th when this came out and i lived it. Made me feel that you can be you and be proud of it rather than confirm to social norms - I've always had my own style and not everyone liked it
She was supposed to be country. Her 1st couple of songs were. "Who's bed have your boots been under?" and "Any man of mine" My favorite video of hers is "So you've got a car." It's a fun one. It will make you laugh.
True story. When my husband and I go married, we had a small wedding as it was a second for both of us. Basically we had just family in attendance. One of “our songs” was From This Moment from this album, a true wedding classic and what was playing when he proposed. The song was played, we do our thing, say I Do and the preacher presents us and we go to walk back down the aisle of the church. The guy doing the music goes to hit the other song selected and all of a sudden we hear Shania saying “Let’s Go Girls”. We busted out laughing and told our girls to come with us (our daughters stood up for us). The poor man was panicking and we had tears in our eyes from laughing. We felt bad for him. To this day whenever any of us hears that opening line, we always record and send it to our group chat. That was 25 years ago.
Women are not a monolith. They want different things. This song was about getting dressed up, going out, and having fun. Feeling free and without all of the burdens women at that time had to deal with.

@@BB-yh5rd .. Don't forget Bachman Turner Overdrive and April Wine!
@@ausfuhrpramienjagar BTO and April Wine!!!! Right on. Blue Oyster Cult, Bad Company, Cheap Trick, there are just too many to get to.
I am 59 years old and was born in 1964 the last year of the Baby Boomers, This song was a huge hiit.
A woman leading the band whilst men play the ornate eye candy in the back for just one video shouldn't make you uncomfortable.
She's leading so she's the eye candy.
Shania is iconic and broke barriers. She deserves respect! This song is just a fun song, don't take it so seriously.
She worked hard to get where she is...a good person, stuck it out and helped her siblings!!!
This song actually got me down the "country" rabbit hole when I moved to a "cow town" 😉 Ft. Collins! LOL... This is from 1997!! No one was questioning danged genders & stuff! You MUST watch Robert Palmers "Addicted to Love" for the visuals to understand where the Chads come in. (;
Shania Twain is GORGEOUS & has an AMAZING voice. And she's currently touring too! ❤
I laugh every time I see this! It is a funny parody! In all seriousness, the best part of being a woman is doing it all and doing it well, whether it is career, motherhood, wife or friend.
Indeed👍🏻☺️
Canada's pride ..go Shania!
You have to watch Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love" video to understand this one. She has so many great hits.
Don't think he even reads these comments, tbh.
Totally agree! Well said!
Shania can sing her a$$ off!! This song doesn't even begin to showcase her range!
No se puede negar la calidad vocal de esta mujer. Ai me encanta.
When this song came out, EVERYONE KNEW WHAT A WOMAN WAS!!! No one needed to be told!! 😊
Never listened to Lola the kinks? 😂😂😂😂 That was about 25 years earlier
Lol, so true!
Shania was “The Perfect Woman “, seriously, and now there’s a Shania Barbie doll. Shania Twain was seriously crossover, her songs were blasted on the radio All The Time and she puts on an incredible concert. She had the best girl anthems! Thank you for sharing.
It was back in the days the boys went out girls stayed in years later girls wouldnt probs be with you if it wasnt for this song going out
Check out Shania’s story. Her parents died and she raised her siblings. Love her music
Yes!!!
When a woman was a woman and people knew it ??? From an educated medical perspective, it's not an either-or issue.
It was a parody of a Robert Palmer Song.. so she was actually playing the male part (Robert's Part) while the guys played the background role that the women played in Robert Palmer's Video. So it's sort of the opposite of what you said. Check out Robert Plant's Addicted to Love for reference.
@@kevincarpenter2525 Robert Palmer. Not Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin.
@@donna7059 oops I changed it!
Always be one of Canada’s sweethearts👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Being a woman is the right to be tender and tough, serious and silly, and everything in between. Women have fought hard to have their rights, the same as the fight for racial rights and anyone who had to fight to just being seen as an equal.
She turns country music up side down in the 90's. She seems to have fun doing the videos. "That Don't Impress Me Much" is a good one. I can't remember the song, but she did one video where she brought an entire dance class on set and let them roll with the song. Loved her music, enjoyed her videos!
"That Don't Impress Me Much" should be your second Shania song.
Thank you ...yes ! She's NOT strictly country...even fake country name ..lol
@@hoosiernationsindiana2085
And Dolly Parton wrote the great hit
"I Will Always Love You" back in the 70's that the late great Whitney Houston made even more famous.
~
When Shania went to Nashville the record producer wanted her to change her name ....sooooo...
Shania is a girl's name of Native American origin-believed to be Ojibwa-and means “I'm on my way.”
Her stepfather was of Ojibwa Native Indian heritage which is why she picked that name for her music career in his honor.
Shania has So Many Hits!!! Keep them coming!!
When this song came out, there was no confusion about what a woman was.
There still isn't. I'm not confused.
Amen!
According to MAGA Democrats invented trans. There weren't any when Trump was in power lol! I still can find any trans bill passed by Biden!
Shania hit in 1997. She is country and a cross over star ❤❤❤
This song is all about a bunch of girls going out and having fun and knowing they look good while doing it no matter where they go or do .
This is just a fun song about girls dressing up and going out to a club to dance, usually in a group. You shouldn’t take this seriously. Girl fun!
Love Shania Twain she is an iconic in Canada
I laughed hard when I saw the video the first time! 😂 The parody is wicked good!!
Well until recently, and our "freedom" continues to move in an even more controlling direction.
Yes am 58 and agree
a womans freedom disappearing daily, heading back to the 1940s
@@Augirl78 😂
I love this song, and this is about as country as I can get as far as music! Most of her songs are good. She's great!
To each their own...... The Best part of being a woman is different to each person!
Shania's epic song: From This Moment On. Amazing video.
Dedicate this song to your amazing wife. ❤❤❤
Not only a parody but a 90s hit. A woman can be more than just something to look at. He own style, her own personal etc
So, the video was a shout out (kind of) to Robert Palmer. And holy shit. That is a fine woman with a fantastic voice! She has a ton of great songs, tbh. Great reaction, sir🤓🤠👊🏼
YES!!!!! YOU ARE SO RIGHT!
Shania played her dues and has become successful. Congrats Shania...
It’s a funny song. She has a couple of them. Love her humor. We need more people like her!!!!
You need to go down the Shania rabbit hole. All her songs are really clever and sort of girl anthems
She great country singer, love her. Love my country music. Congratulations on your wife and yourself on the little bundle of joy coming..🙏🙏❤️
Shania's got talent. Her husband-producer-manager did her wrong. I like her songs. The 90's pop country was fun. I'm here for it!
That's what I just put down, yup!
She was the first woman to show her midriff on the awards and in country music.
This is new Country/Rock that Shania made popular when she came down South coming from Canada
She is amazing and was having fun.😂
I was in 5th or 6th when this came out and i lived it. Made me feel that you can be you and be proud of it rather than confirm to social norms - I've always had my own style and not everyone liked it
This was cool because of Robert Palmer video, Addicted to Love.
She was supposed to be country. Her 1st couple of songs were.
"Who's bed have your boots been under?" and
"Any man of mine"
My favorite video of hers is "So you've got a car."
It's a fun one.
It will make you laugh.
She has more than a "couple" country songs.
Still looks as hot as she did then! (I wish I could look like that at any age!)❤❤
The first country artist I loved every song from.
I love this song. It always makes me smile and brightens my day.
