- This is my review of the popular QCY F11 plus mirror dash camera.
I purchased it from this store: / rackupph
at Php5000 promo package, it includes free delivery, installation, 32GB, and 30 months replacement for the mirror dash cam unit if there is factory defect, 12 months for the rear camera.

For those wondering, the frequency is for streetlights. In Europe the frequency of the AC power grid is 60hz, so if your video is at 60hz you'll see weird banding because the lights are dimming at the same time the camera takes a picture for the frame. So for Europe with 60hz lighting you want to set your camera to 50hz and in the US where the ac grid is 50hz you'd choose 60 for the camera etc

This video is exactly what I've been looking for! Thank you so much! I love the part where you showed where the wires were hidden. Ours will be installed tomorrow. I was trying to look for a way to disable the parking assist feature of the dashcam once it's installed as the car already has its own rear cam for parking. So, thank you for mentioning about that red wire (parking assist), I now have an idea how to disable the parking assist feature. Hopefully, my idea works. Thanks again! Subbed, too. :)

But question, why aren't you using the Parking Sensor? Does it drain the car's battery?
Hi, good question. I use them too but only at times when I park the car in places where I think there’s a chance my car will get hit. Example, road side parking on a busy street or with some children playing, etc. One reason is it unnecessarily records video clips and saves it to the urgent folder in the memory card even if I’m just in my usual parking spot(with engine off) and I close a door/trunk/hood. It’s consuming precious sd card memory and shortens the recording cycle for the ordinary video clip when I’m driving. It’s also annoying having to delete those videos every now and then.
As for the battery, if the engine is off I don’t think it will drain the car’s battery if you have the parking guard on since the device itself has it’s own internal battery.
In general case, you may leave it ON, just have a routine check to delete the unnecessary files in the ‘urgent’ folder.

I have a problem when driving with the rear view camera as vehicles overtaking me on my left side appear on the right side of the mirror. This is confusing and dangerous. Is this your experience or is this an installation mistake? Thank-you Simon

Thanks for the video. I have a question while on reverse. Is the imagine on the screen of the dashcam on mirror? The one I'm using now is not. Meaning when in reverse and using the dashcam screen while backing up, the objects on the left side mirror appears on the right of the dashcam screen and vice versa. The correct view should be that the objects appearing on the left side mirror are on the left side of the dashcam as well. This is the reason why I'm downgrading my F11 to an N96 unless they can resolve the issue in the F11 model.

Does QCY F11+ record 24/7 even when the car is not in use?
Sorry for the very late reply. It will not continuously record but you can turn on the parking guard so that it will capture 20-second clips if there are any disturbances like if someone or something hits you vehicle. Just note that it will run using the internal battery so depending on the performance and charge of the battery, it will determine whether or not it can last for a week.
Jed, the guy who installed mine showed me how to zoom the camera, both front and rear. I can't remember how.

Hi, I never had the QCY logo ever since I got the unit.And for the zoom, I have not tried yet but you may only be able to do it during image or video review, not during live recording otherwise it will not make sense as it could be a driving hazard.

Hi Sir, I got installed mine recently. The dashcam works well, though, I noticed that my car alarm became super sensitive. It keeps on alarming while driving (both g-sensor & parking guard are turned off). I'm not sure if it has something to do with the dashcam or what because before I had it installed I didn't have any problems with my alarm. Did you encounter the same?

Hello sir, mga gano katagal or ilang videos (based sa current loop recording setting niyo) yung nasesave before mapuno and magautodelete ng old videos? I think you're using a 32gb card based on your comments. Baka may estimation lang kayo kung ilang minutes or ilang videos yung nasesave niya. Thanks!

Yes. when you tap the button at the bottom of the screen, it will turn the screen off so you can use it as a regular mirror but the cameras will still continue recording
Thanks for the review, i just have the same dashcam installed today. However i noticed that after around 30mins of using, the back of the monitor and the adaptor that is inserted in the cigarette socket is kind of hot, not just warm. But its not like you'll have feeling of burn. Is it normal?
Chargers and the battery itself tend to get hot when they are actively charging, say the battery of the dashcam unit is near empty. In my case I have not noticed it to be uncomfortably hot. If you suspect it to be a factory defect, I'd recommend you reach out to your dealer and tell them about the issue so you'll have a record that you actually complained. I recommend to have it done sooner than later because of the risk of fire or explosion.
sir my dashcam is the same as yours but mine's cigarette lighter is always on even though the car engine is off, what do you think is the problem there sir?
Does it retain the date and time when you turn your car off? Was wondering if it has an internal battery to retain the date/time and settings.
Yes it has an internal battery and it retains the date and time, and even the last view mode you were when turned the car off.
How does the parking mode work since it is connected to the 12v charging port? if you turn off your car there will be no power at all.
The device has an internal battery and it uses it to turn on and record video clips if there are sudden vibrations while your car is parked
Do we have the option to use it as a normal rearview mirror? that's my only hesitation with these types of dash cams. Nonetheless, great content!!
Yes, there is a button at the bottom of the unit to turn the LCD display on or off so you may be able to use it as a regular rear view mirror. I have mentioned it at 4:00. The screen is made of a reflective material just like a regular mirror.

Hello, sorry for very the late reply. Mirrored yung view kapag dinedisplay sa dashcam unit, pero sa actual recording na file, yung normal na non-mirrored yung nasesave.

thanks for a very informative review ... but would like to ask, the rear view mirror that comes with the dash cam, does it lock up to its position or it can be adjusted freely like the ordinary rear view mirror? also, if view in the rear view mirror is disable, does the front the rear cams still continue to record?
Sorry for the very late reply. You can still adjust the entire rear view mirror even with the dashcam on it. Even if the screen is disabled, both front an back cam still continues to record.
Sir what happen if you record a video in your dashcam for 24 hours without using the car? Or can this video can record for 24 hours without using the car or starting the car?

Hello, would you know how to set the default view everytime magstart ang dashcam? Dati kasi siyang split screen lagi tas somehow parang nagreformat siya. Di ko alam kung bakit. Ngayon lagi na siya nakarear cam tas need ko iswipe left every time.

Hello, ang alam ko kasing behavior niya is nareretain niya yung last view na nakaset before you turn off your car, at pumunta yung dashcam sa parking mode. This is because may internal battery siya that keeps these settings in memory. Most likely yung problem nung unit mo is battery. Maybe kapag nakaoff na yung power to the dashcam from your car, hindi na nasusustain ng internal battery nung dashcam yung standby/parking mode. You can check it by unplugging your device from the 12V socket nung kotse then observe how long the battery can hold and keep the device powered on.
Other than that, I would not know any other reason.

Is it harmful for the device to leave it on the car because our parking doesnt have roof. ?
I think it is okay to leave the device inside the car when you park it at home even if your parking area does not have a roof. If your concern is about the heat inside the car while it is parked on a hot day, maybe what you can do is avoid turning it on while the interior of the car is still hot. Try touching the dashcam first and if it’s hot, remove the charger from the 12v socket and let it cool before you power it on.
Have my dashcam installed from same installer weeks ago. My only problem is the playback and download to the roadcam mobile app. It takes FOREVER!! Even 1minute recording lang. Do you have same experience too?
Could you remove the microSD card and insert it into PC/laptop to download/copy from there? Just a suggestion po

Sorry sa late reply. Ok naman siya, pero yun nga lang may times na sabog yung video dahil sa ilaw ng headlights. Rear view camera mode ako palagi. mas ok kasi nakikita ko yung nasa harap mismo ng rear bumper.

Sorry po, pero di ako familiar sa ‘visual support line’. Yun ba yung cable from the equipment to the camera sa likod? Ang alam ko kasi, pwede ka bumili nun sa Shopee or Lazada na may kasama nang rear camera. Pero I have to be honest, hindi ko pa natatry bumili at magkabit nun. nagcurious lang ako one time kung pwede bang i-upgrade yung camera to a higher resolution pero di ko na tinuloy.

Nakaset yata loop recording sayo sir. Naseset kasi yun kung every 1,3, or 5 minutes yung recorded video. Check mo sa video ko mga 6:34 mark

How can you set the rear camera to be default view when you start the dashcam, instead of having to swipe to the left to get to the rear view.
It defaults to the last view when I turned of the vehicle
Setting - streaming media function, on and the default screen is rear view; off and the default screen is front view. That's what the manual says.

Sorry for the very late reply. Nope, it should not affect your car’s warranty as long as no splicing is done on the wirings.
Just want to inquire po regarding QCY F11+... Yung date po kasi sa screen once i turn off may car engine and then will open again, bunabalik sa default na time and time... Previously naman before nung bagong bili ko, hindi naman ganon...pano po kaya ito maayos?
Sorry for the very late reply. I would think that it is probably a battery issue. May internal battery kasi yung unit that keeps the internal clock running. Reach out to the folks you bought it from, they may be able to assist.

Hindi po ba inverted yung display ng rear cam? May nakita lang ako nag mention na inverted yung kuha sa rear cam nito
Kung 'inverted' as in upside down, hindi siya ganun. Mirrored yung real-time viewing ng video sa display mirror dashcam, pero yung recorded video file is normal. So kung ipeplay back mo yung recorded videos ng rear cam, it will show the plate numbers sa tamang orientation(not mirrored).

Same bro kakainstall ko lang kanina, tinanggal ko yung protective film and malabo pa din yung reflection, hindi sya parang salamin so mapipilitan ka talagang magrely sa display. Need tips kung pwede pa ba sya gawing reflective na parang salamin.

Hi sir question please. If we want a continuous recording within the day, how should we set it for f11 pro? I noticed kasi putol putol yun recording na Naka save sa dashcam. Should we turn off ba yun loop recording or use the lock para tuloy tuloy yun record? Hope you can answer my query. Thanks in advance
Hi, I have not tried turning off the loop recording because I found it easier to work with smaller files rather than a continuous but big file. I suppose the loop recording can be turned off and it will probably record a continuous video. What I am not sure though is if it will stop recording when the memory card is full if loop recording is off. When I get the chance, I'll try it myself and get back to you on this.

Hindi naman. Kung sa battery ng kotse hindi naman siya makakadrain kasi nakaconnect yung dashcam charger sa 12V socket ng kotse sa dashboard. Once you turn off the car(as in completely off, tanggal yung susi) cut off na rin yung connection from car battery to 12V socket so mago-auto power off na rin si dashcam. Hope that answers your question.
May settings po ba ng loop recording off master? Para pang vlog ng travel.?
Hello, sorry for the very late reply. Pwedeng maturn off yung loop recording. Di ko lang maconfirm yung behavior kung mapuno yung memory kung sasabihin ba ng unit na memory full. Naka 3 minutes loop kasi sakin parati

Sorry for the very late reply. Actually, it's a limitation of this model. You can perhaps consider another model that supports a 3rd camera.
Why my QYC dash cam showing error like SD card need to reformat. Instead of reformatting I bought new 64GB SD card but tge same error is showing. Is there any way to fix it coz I beleived the problem is my QYC dash cam. Thanks.

I am using transcend class 10 32GB and I never had issues. It was also the SD card that came with the package
I'm experiencing ghost touch on my F11+ after a year of use. It randomly swipes left or right all alone when I'm driving. Does anyone know how to fix it?
Sorry for the very late reply. After two years of use, I have not experienced this. Two things I would recommend, 1. If there is still a protective film on the screen, you may want to remove it. 2. Reach out to the folks you bought it from, they may be able to assist.

Lumalabas yung guide lines kapag nakareverse yung sasakyan. Meron po yun kinakabit na red wire sa reverse light na connected sa reverse cam para matrigger yung reverse mode. Check the manual or ask the installer about para ma-guide ka.
What can u say about not having a standard rear mirror anymore since pinapatong sya mismo dun....
Ok lang naman kasi pwede mo naman siyang magamit just like a regular rear view mirror by turning off the display using a button at the bottom of the unit. Recording will continue even with the display turned off

Hindi po, basta tama yung pagkakainstall. Sa case ko, sa 12V socket siya nakakabit.

May screen protector po ba ito? Kasi medyo malabo sya kapag gagawing mirror lang talaga.
Meron nung una pero tinanggal ko. Para sakin ok naman siya as regular mirror lang pero most of the time mas nagrerely ako sa rear cam, kita kasi hanggang baba so kahit maliliit na bagay or mga bata nakikita ko kung magrereverse ako.

how to show your current speed in the dashcam video playback?
I don't think it has that feature, and probably because this model does not have GPS since that kind of information will require some sort of tracking. I'd understand why you'd want that feature though especially when you're trying to prove that you were not going over the speed limit or something.
@@cayetanojed there is a gps port, do you think we can use it somehow, there is a km/hr and mph option in the settings
@@ArcherArios22 It is possible but I have not tried it since I don't have the device to plug in to the GPS port.
question, how were you able to save the videos? tried using the app but can’t. only option I could think of was removing the micro sd
Does your unit come with WiFi feature? You'll need to turn on the dashcam's WiFi and connect your mobile phone to it. You may then use the RoadCam app on your phone to view and download the videos.

You may want to check if the reverse camera wire is properly connected sa dashcam unit, or baka sa GPS port nakaplug so try to doublecheck. If you bought it just recently, it must still be covered by warranty so contact mo na rin yung pinagbilhan mo for assistance.

Same product po installed sa car ko pero I noticed na hindi continous ang recording nya.... Nag iiskip sya...
Then mag record ulit then skip ulit walang record..... Ang worry ko kasi... What if yung skipped recording pa yung kelangan mong reviewhin.... Hello, meron pong loop recording sa settings, I think you can set it to 1 min, 3 mins, or 5 mins. Kung let’s say 3 mins yung nakaset, bale yung output na video is 3 minutes long, puro kung tuluy tuloy po siya magrerecord nakasplit lang yung video to 3 minutes each. You can stitch the 3 minute videos in correct order and you’ll see na tuluy tuloy yung narecord niya

Gagana pa rin naman kasi separate naman yung connection, tinatap lang kasi sa reverse lights sa likod yung trigger nung mirror dashcam para sa reverse cam.

Yes, naka-mirror siya sa display. Pero yung recorded video hindi mirror, normal capture siya.

Hello, wala namang QCY na logo sakin ever since I got the device. Di ko lang sure pero try niyo sir baka QCY yung naka set na plate number, pwede mo naman burahin yon para hindi nakadisplay.
The seller said you can't get rid of the logo below the date/time.
