- I OWN NOTHING! This was a request. Music is by James Horner and is from The Land Before Time Soundtrack. This is a compilation of the Great Valley Theme. Enjoy!
This movie made me realize I will loose my mom one day and that I should remember the important stuff my mom taught me and keep it in my heart, so I can pass it on to my child. Love you mom ❤
What a beautiful thing. Tears...
When I watched this my mother was fighting cancer in 1992. I was 5. She survived and when I was 20 cancer came again and took her, my greatest fear came true. My mother was no more. Now I imagine that heaven sound like this.
This movie taught my 5 year old self about the permanence of death. I expected Little Foot’s mother to show up at the end like most “deaths” in animated movies and shows did. So I was left feeling..different. Like part of me was forever changed even if I didn’t understand how at the time.
Returning to this film as an adult whose lost loved ones, I can fully appreciate and empathize with the themes of The Land Before Time and I’m very glad that it was a part of my childhood.
One day we’ll all make it to the great valley
Agreed
Well it was originally meant to represent heaven...
Yeah
Yes. One day our suffering will be rewarded❤❤❤❤
@@theotheseaeagle yeah
Horner was a genius. I wish they played this theme more often - it deserves greater acclaim.
It’s the theme that’s been opening the Cannes film festival’s final ceremony for about 20 years :)
This movie had some of the greatest people working on it! James Horner who does music for like titanic and many other movies George Lucas who did Star Wars and Steven Spielberg working with Don blueth it’s considered the most successful of all of dons movies and has 14 sequels pluse the tv series l!
Who is they? It's YOU who isn't playing it to your own content XD
Totally agree. Horner is such a master composer.
Even though they aren't real...these are the best friends a kid could ask for 😭❤

7:37 2023 and i still crying like a new born baby with this music
“the Great Valley! 😮Cera! ducky! Petrie over here!”
The choral parts have been imprinted on my soul since I first heard them at the age of four
Listening to this takes me back to when I was 3-4 years old when this movie came out in 1988. From the very beginning of the movie this music grabs your heart and does not let go. The musical score in this film is absolutely beautiful, wonderful and timeless. What a pleasure it was to have the privilege to have been alive when this movie was made and to have been old enough to have it a part of my life at its release and to retain the memory of the first time I viewed this incredible film. Thank you Land Before Time and everyone who was involved in its production for helping to bring a little magic to not only my childhood but to millions of others around the world, and thank you to all the other incredible animated films from this period. They don't make animated films like this anymore and may never again. 😔
*its ("at _it is_ release" and "a part in _it is_ production" makes no damn sense)
Way to ruin it :'D
I was about the same age! Completely agree. So much magic in these movies. Special time
They have a certain kind of charm that just can't be re-captured, not even by the modern stuff.
What I'd like to see is a sequel short film that doubles as a Jurassic World crossover. Maybe Littlefoot and his friends are all grown-up and still living in The Great Valley during the mass extinction event 65 million years ago. In their final moments, they reminisce about the adventures they had as kids, a call back to the films and animated series that came before. However, 65 million years later, the world has DRASTICALLY changed. A time after the mammoth and the mastodon: The time of man.
The year is 2015, Jurassic World has been open to the public and successful for 10 years. Littlefoot wakes up to a different, yet familiar setting, implying that The Great Valley eventually became Isla Nublar through millions of years of tectonic movement, flooding, and general evolution. He's puzzled by what he's looking at. Where's Cera? Where's Ducky? Petrie? Spike? What happened to The Great Valley? Where are the burning rocks?! One second, he was staring extinction in the face with his friends by his side and in the blink of an eye, he's here in an open field, surrounded by other dinosaurs. Buildings and monorail tracks out in the distance. The sound of human commotion floods the center of the park. The gentle whir of the Gyrosphere motors as they pass by, guests safely nestled in their reinforced glass enclosures.
The short takes place during the events of the first Jurassic World film, where the Indominus Rex escapes, kills other dinos for sport, and Littlefoot and his friends having to witness the horror of Dr. Wu's monsterous creation.
That stopped making 2d cartoon movies most stuff is 3d these days
25 years old and this movie STILL makes me cry!!! 😭partly cause I know masterpiece’s like this will never be made again
As good as some morden can be they lack the magic and care that should go into these movies the creators of this really wanted this beautiful film to be in our memories and they succeeded I really hope this is remembered for ever. Films as great as these are so rare and we appreciate them more
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Almost 42 now and I cried so much now, even more than when I was young
I have such great memories about this movie.
This was my favourite movie as a kid😊

This world was blessed to have James Horner for even such a short time as it was. 😥
This song was plagiarized from a Soviet song. Some of the other stuff he did from This film was from other composers too. It still sounds good though

Great movie with a great song..land before time 1988 will always be in my heart
This movie does make me cry. I know Little Foot wanted to reach The Great Valley with his mother. She did not take him there in person. But at least her spirit guided him there.
Some things you see with your eyes some things you see with your heart what lovely words he Mother said Mother said to him
They don't make Animated Movies like this anymore. When Don Bluth nailed it, he really made something memorable. Horner's music alone is uniquely atmospheric.

:)
I haven't thought about "The Land Before Time in YEARS. It just came to my mind all of a sudden and watched the ending on UA-cam and then listened to this music. Listening to this music brings a tear and to my eyes and heavy nostalgia from when I started with this first one as a child back in the 90s. It brings me a bit of peace of mind from this world wide pandemic and feel like I can forget about it for the few minutes listening to this. :)
Yeah, it's like the childhood and the emotions make all our problems disappear!
It also reminds me of Littlefoot's early days when he lost his mother and had to find his own way to the Great Valley - and thus of my own past. This theme reminds me to enjoy what I have as long as I still have it. I lost my grandpa 15 years ago and it took me about a year to get over this loss completely. On top of that, Grandpa never had a testament even though his wishes were no secret to his children. My mother's brother abused that fact to get as much as possible, he's the kind of guy who'd sell his own mother for the trash we call money. Well, at least he'll never find true happiness since he can't keep his girlfriends for long which is pretty satisfying for me after all he did for money, after destroying his family...
My life was difficult, too. I'm autistic. Without my family and friends I'd never have been able to deal with discrimination. If it weren't for them I'd probably have committed suicide a long time ago.
Enjoy what you have. You'll miss it once it's gone.😢
@EclipseStrife Same. I miss the times when I had to worry about nothing... 😢
@@Naturmacht1 that was good... thank you

I watched this film when I was about 3 or 4 years old. Now I'm 25 and I cry with the first notes. It brings me so much memories from my childhood - innocent, bright and joyful. When my mum was young, my dad tickled me, and my grandma took me on the horse riding into the Valley. A bittersweet feeling of nostaligia, the life I'd never have again.
One of my first English words were "The Great Valley", but I never understood this untill I started learning English.
What a masterpiece. James Horner did a fanstastic job. He made my childhood to be remembered when I almost forgot it
A true masterpiece, it warms and breaks your heart at the same time. A timeless movie with a masterclass soundtrack that holds a deep special place in my soul.
This inspired some of my first emotions as a very young child. It’s weird my brain remembers this only in feelings
Bringing back my childhood memories. Take my back to 1995 when I was 5
So visceral. Made me remember everything at once. Almost overwhelming. This song makes me see life as i did when I was a child - full of endless and awe and wonder. This makes me feel things more vividly than anything else can. Thankyou James Horner
James Horner’s music taps right into your soul. The Music and Melodies are masterfully arranged. The Land Before Time was a great movie that the music made timeless. It’s sad that James Horner is gone, but his great works live on!
Now days all we get are woke movies with forgettable stories and music
@@bansheezs It is a true pity. But perhaps if we accelerate this wokeness, it will come to a sooner end. They are seeming to do that. People are getting tired of it, and I am glad about it. We need a full reaction against the trash and once more create art, music and great epic stories which will be remembered by generations to come. For art is the expression of civilization and human soul.
i grew up on the land before time. i’m nearly 19 now. i’m working full time. preparing for my future.

This movie always gave me a different feeling that I’ve never felt before..
This isn’t a regular movie.. there’s something different about it, something amazing. It’s better than most other movies today, every time I listen to the soundtrack it gives me so much chills and nostalgia from my childhood and how I didn’t care about this movie that much and honestly just liked to watch it sometimes. Now I just get a different feeling everyone I listen to this, or even watch the movie. The feeling is the feeling of “it’s not an ordinary movie, it’s a masterpiece better than any other movie today”. That sort of feeling. It’s so much chills running down my spine. So much nostalgia and memories…
I miss how simpler everything was back then 😢
Im crying for this . This was my favorite show in my childhood.
And, im watching this even now
Oh my God...this soundtrack sent me on a massive nostalgia trip...I grew up with the Land Before Time on VHS. It's probably what got me into Jurassic Park and the later films....
I used to watch this so much as a kid with my family. I'm in my 30s now and I've lost a parent and a sibling. When I hear the music it puts me back in that place I miss so much. I hope Horner and Bluth and everyone involved knew what this really meant to kids like me

Gotta be one of the most gorgeous, emotional themes I’ve ever heard in a movie.
I remember watching The Land Before Time when I was younger. My grandma has some vhs tapes of those movies and I’d always pick them out to watch when I was bored. Good times 😌

Coming back to music like this move me in a good way. My uncle said to me when he watched this movie as a refugee in Thailand, it was the coolest thing he had ever seen although no one had a clue of the language being spoken or creatures. Journey to the great valley was like journey to America for him and my families.
Do you remember when cartoons were awesome? I remember.
Yeah like it casually went from The Land Before Time to Paw Patrol, what the hell happened

This is the soundtrack to my childhood, this movie (and mores specifically the soundtrack) taught me empathy. I remember running into my parents bedroom as a 7 yr old freaking out because Moms can die?

After 5 dinosaur children of different species survive the biggest earthquake on earth and being separated from their families, they go on a parlous journey in hope to find a promise land known as The Great Valley, a place they don’t know for sure exists; After walking across the unforgiving wilderness with hardly any food and danger behind every corner, they finally find it!
James Horner was a master music craftsman. He knew emotions and knew instinctively what worked and what didn't. He's been gone almost a decade now and he is sorely missed, James Horner and his music will live on through all the wondrous scores that he created.
He must have been deeply in touched with his emotions in order to turn it into music. Sensitive and intelligent.
Man it's been forever since I saw any of the movies or the tv episodes but the first nine movies were my childhood. The first 6 or 8 movies were my introduction to vhs tapes. It has nearly been just over 12 years since I last heard this piece of music.

I Love The Land before Time Soundtrack
Yeah, the soundtrack is a masterpiece
You, sir have a great taste
It’s crazy to think that this kids movie almost went down a very different route with The Great Valley originally meant to represent heaven
It still does allegorically. Though it's probably more succinct to say it represents salvation than any 'heaven' from a world religion. The theme is very present in the music's horns and choir, as well as the visuals of light spreading across the valley upon discovering it. You can even argue that Little Foot's mother plays the role of an angel that guides the group to the valley.
The valley shares a lot of conceptual themes with heaven indeed, even if the movie does not claim a religious meaning outright. After their incredible journey, the valley is salvation and salvation is a highly religious concept.
@@AdamDawson1984 and sharp teeth eating represent hell
It always felt a little like that to me also because we all know dino's went exstinct
Judith Barsi (the actress that voiced Ducky in the first movie) is now in heaven and this video represents it

The only Disney film that compete with this soundtrack is the lion king in my opinion. Just another level of perfection.
