We need more people like that. I have read more than my fair share of stories on tumblr of people who almost died from other health problems because their doctors just focused on their weight rather than doing a LOT of detective work.
@@ichigopockychan it's upsetting when doctors are lazy but in medicine they usually go with the most common problem first instead of looking for other things. Hopefully they at least did tests gosh. But you don't have to be overweight to get trashy care. My friend was misdiagnosed so many times and when they finally found out what was wrong the doctors said they cant help her because shes too young. Its frustrating and infuriating

@Darth Nihilus just because people you loved who happened to be obese died doesn't mean that all obese people are unhealthy. My mother is 100lbs and had two strokes last year. By your logic, that means ALL 100lb women will have strokes. Which of course is absurd.
The misinformation and hype over various diseases being related to obesity has caused people like you to be bias and discriminatory towards overweight people.

Wow, as a premature identical twin, this video hit home hard. My sister and I were born 3 months early, we barely weighed 3.5 lbs together. Our mom was only 15 at the time and she was only expecting one baby. Her neighbor was a nurse and noticed she didn't look good and told her to go to urgent care. She was suffering from blood toxicity, and when they did an ultrasound, I rolled out from behind my sister, completely surprising everyone. When I rolled, the ultrasound tech noticed that our umbilical cords were wrapped around each other's necks and tied in a knot, so she had to undergo an emergency c-section. The whole process from arriving at the hospital until we were delivered was like 5 hours. My mom was in shock, we were so tiny an premature we had to be immediately put into incubators. I always feel bad for my mom, she didn't get to hold us until we were almost 3 months old when we were finally released from the incubators. We all three almost died, if my mom hadn't have gone into the hospital when she did, she may not have survived the next 24 hours because of the blood toxicity. My twin sis had a 1% chance of surviving, I had a 0.5% chance. She was "Baby A" and I was "Baby B" for about 2 and a half weeks, my mom was afraid to name us, get attached, then lose us suddenly. Episodes like these remind me just how lucky I am to be alive. Thank science for modern medicine, those incubators and the medical staff were absolute life savers. Both my twin and I are doing okay, we have some health issues, but it could be 100 times worse. My twin is currently pregnant with a little girl, I'm super excited for her. She's always wanted to be a mom, and I hope she has a smooth delivery, unlike our own.

My sister is dealing with a lot of swelling, she's just past 31 weeks along so far. The whole family is excited but we're watching her carefully since our mom had a ton of complications with us.

Update for y'all: my sister is currently hospitalized, she has severe pre-eclampsia and are struggling to keep her blood pressure at normal levels for more than a few hours. She is scheduled for a c-section on Friday the 25th, so she'll be 34 weeks at that time, a little premature but not too bad. Not nearly as premature as we were. The whole family is nervous because she can't have an epidural due to spine anatomy (our mom had the same issue), so we're uncertain if she's going to be conscious at all during the c-section or not. Thanks to covid, even if she's conscious, they'll only allow one visitor at a time, so we'll all be sequestered to the waiting room. The only upside is that her daughter will have the same birthday as her great-grandmother, which I think is pretty cool. Our grandma was a twin that lost her sister in a car accident as a teenager, she's always adored us since we were babies. I think it's really special that my twin sister's baby will have the same birthday as her. I'll post an update once it gets closer to Friday. We're all biting our nails waiting, not much can be done right now.
I had a male Dr tell me that my migraines and blackouts were due to me being overweight (I was 5'4 30 years old, had 2 kids, and 139 pounds). I listened to him. 4 years later a different Dr found a brain tumor near my brain stem.
I have had several male Drs blame basically every health problem on weight or 'possibly' fibro and never do tests or anything to help.

@@Piscoandmartinis The tumor wasn't cancerous. I got it removed and my painful migraines and blackout stopped. I have vertigo migraines and very nice female Drs who do not blame every symptom on weight. That Dr was horrible, he stayed on his phone through appointments as well.

If you were 5’4 and 139 lbs after having two kids and a doctor called you overweight, I would shudder to think what he’d call me for being only about an inch taller, about 50 lbs heavier and with no kids.... 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ jk I know what he’d say; he’d tell me I was a fatty mcfat fat. But my point is that if I were 139 I would be like “I’m doing damn good and look amazing, SIR!” ain’t nobody gonna tell me I’m overweight at 139 and 5’4. He sounds like a total d*ck. And then to later find out you had a tumor??? That makes him a hack AND a dick! Fool couldn’t diagnose my tumor cause he’s too busy worrying about my weight? @@brilliantbutblue Hey, I'm just going off what they have said in the show, which is that she had given a history to the doctor of unprotected sex and an extended period of amenorrhoea. Because she had also mentioned irregular periods and she happened to be overweight, the doctor chalked it up to that and did not investigate. He should have done a pregnancy test, which is a very simple investigation to undertake and should have been done to cover his bases, even if he thought it was unlikely. He was not thorough enough.
I agree that patients can sometimes not be forthcoming and can be poor historians, and that is exactly why he should have done a pregnancy test.
Brilliant But Blue nearly all doctors check first for pregnancy as it causes acute and various symptoms. This was completely the docs fault.
I am a little overweight and have a variety of health issues that pre-date my increased weight. When I try to get health care all the doctors see is my weight. Before I had 2 surgeries 3 months apart with a hypothyroid diagnose I was told by 3 doctors I just needed to lose weight. I nearly died because of the poor health care. So, yeah, be a woman, plump and add on having "women's" health issues, all you are is a person who needs a fat farm so get out and pay us. This has been happening in my life for 35 years.
Unfortunately as someone who’s had a lifelong struggle with obesity I’ve found that doctors pretty much always blame every complaint I bring to them on weight.
I’m nowhere near obese but My health issues are blamed on weight that isn’t even in my control. My mother manipulated me into using birth control and it caused me to gain over 50 pounds

Weight can definitely play a factor into health issues, but sadly doctors, mostly male, will think we're overreacting and write us off, even if there's something more to medical complaints.

Hi this that made me think...As someone who struggles with weight in the opposite way- I've been underweight for most of my life- I've RARELY been told a problem might be because of my weight. BUT IT QUITE OFTEN WAS and I wished doctor would have told me.
I'm struggling to put on weight and/or hold my weight at a 'normal' bmi, so my qeight is always going up a few kilos and then down again. And I've had reoccuring symptoms and little health problems since forever. And then at 24 yrs old I realized I would always put on a little weight and for example my stomach pain would dissappear. Then when I lost the weight again the symptoms came creeping back slowly and getting more, the longer I was at a lower weight. And every time doctors would test for everything and find nothing and either didn't believe me or say it was a mental problem. But they knew all along how much I weighed so why not say something?? It took me ages to connect these two things. Neither too much nor too little weight is healthy and Doctors should always evaluate the symptoms while also looking at the patient.

I'm very confused as to how this woman was never asked if she could possibly be pregnant by that doctor. I get asked every single time I walk into a doctor's office. I went in once for foot pain and was asked if I was pregnant.

If you’re pregnant you need a medical clearance for meds or X-rays any doctor foot/dentist etc needs to cover themselves from any liability

My labor only got more painful than my menstrual cramps at transition. Before that, my nurse kept offering me pain medication, and I didn't need, nor want it; I did take one dose of IV Stadol and promptly fell asleep. I had to be awakened to push. I've always said that God let me have an easy labor, because pregnancy was awful for me. My morning sickness was so bad and prolonged that I only gained 4 pounds, and my son was 5# 10oz, even though he was only 35 weeks gestation.
Her getting mad at the editing makes me so proud. I’m “heavy set” and lots of “thinner” people don’t understand the struggles people like me have, and I’m glad that Mama Dr Jones understands. Thank you.
I don’t understand why Dr. Jones didn’t talk about how plan b is only approved for women up to 165 lbs. You have to double the dose otherwise. This is SUPER important and not talked about nearly enough.
I know! This really disappointed me, saying it’s 95% effective but there’s no way it would be anywhere close to that for someone who is 350 pounds. I’m worried girls might think it’s an effective birth control from what she said

Yes!!! And many forms of birth control also have different efficacy at different body weights! So important. It’s not a matter of shaming, it should just be a matter of proper dosage!

It's a natural quick but seemingly major weight gain associated with pregnancy.
Ballooning seems to be an accurate term.
Actually most women say things like "I look like I swallowed a baloon/beach ball" or "my ankles look like tree trunks" with a giggle.
Pregnancy causes certain things to happen to most bodies, no need to get offended when people notice, it's natural and to be expected.
Now if that stuff happens and you're not pregnant you should totally go get it checked out. A quick massive weight gain can't be good.

One of my old coworkers daughter's took a pregnancy test bc she was gaining a belly and it was positive. She goes to the doctor expecting to be a couple months along, and nope. She was 36 weeks. The stress of it sent her into labor and she had her daughter within the next two days.

@@MalignDreams No one here doesn't know how balloons function, we're not stupid. The issue is that it's incredibly insensitive. I wouldn't say something like "your mother flopped over dead like a tree being cut down." You know... because trees fall? Like people do when they die suddenly?
What I've learned from this:
*When in doubt - Take a pregnancy test*
Literally any time I go to any doctor visit they ask me if I could be pregnant or if I'm sexually active.
Yeah if you miss a period and have had sex during your fertile week, it doesnt hurt to take a pregnancy test just to make sure.

I took one a month from the time I left my sons' dad so for 4 months and everyone of them was negative I always had unusual periods i still bleed heavily for 5-8 days and still has a miscarriage i didn't know about the baby i still don't know how far I was i just kbow I was barely far enough for there to be a body that I could cremate.

To answer your question at 7:00, in EMS we have extreme limits to our diagnostic tools. As such, we are taught to treat every female of child bearing age with chief complaint of abdominal pain as a potential complication of pregnancy on top of anything else we suspect. Also on another sidenote, even though the pt was young, an AMI often presents with what many consider odd signs, especially in women, those with diabetes, and those who are overweight. In relaying these signs and symptoms to the recieving hospital during transport, it's no wonder the hospital decided to have an OB Dr on standby :)
I use to watch this show when I was pregnant. I'm lying there in my first trimester, curled up in a ball, miserable. Every little smell makes me throw up. What I ate one day that made me feel great has me running to the bathroom to throw up the next. I slept a lot. And all I could say while watching these women who didn't know they were pregnant was "HOW?!" 😄
Having “morning” sickness is good - provided you can stay nourished and hydrated it is protective for the foetus. Protects against substances (eg coffee, eggs with bacteria, etc) which are minimally toxic to adults, but more harmful to something tiny and developing.
@@janmeyer3129 Yeah, that's really no comfort to anyone feeling sick all day, vomiting frequently, and struggling to find something they can stomach.
Pregnancy is different for different people. Some have very few symptoms. In some of these shows, the women are having symptoms but they attribute it to something else. (Frequent viruses, stress, other medical conditions, etc.) If you really don't expect to or subconsciously fear being pregnant you can often find other explanations for things.
I'm going through the same thing. In only 2 months but the food aversion have me starvedddddddd. I immediately went and got a test.

Same for me. I never had to throw up, but if I didnt know I was pregnant, I would definetely go to a doctor to check why I am so extremely tired all the time. I suppose overweight people don't feel so much if the baby kicking, but that is also for me pretty obvious, and I wonder how some of the woman in these videos would not have noticed, or explained to themselves the experience. I also had an aversion to alcohol and cigarettes at a point before I knew I was pregnant. The human body does a lot to protect the baby.

The normal pill is very sensitive when it comes to timing, so I somehow figured it would be the same with the morning after pill
@@malinm1615 yes, it's more flexible than the birth control, but you should still take it as soon as possible to maximise the chance it would work. But if not possible, a couple of days later may work too

I’ve never been in labor, so I am going off of what my mom said. Shortly after my 23rd birthday I started to have stomach problems, after trial and error my Dr and I decided I had become lactose intolerant. Over the next year I began to lose weight, and having bad stomach pains. I attributed this to poor diet, and drinking too much, so I would switch to beer instead of whiskey when my stomach started acting up (I know, I was a dumb kid lol), I went back and forth with this every 2-3 months. One night the pain got so bad I had my boyfriend (now husband) take me to the ER. I had a fever of 101.3, terrible heart burn, and unbearable rolling cramps/pain. I was given a GI cocktail and told to take Tylenol. I called my mom the next morning to let her know, and my dad stoped by my place on his way home from work. I was in a ball crying, he called my mom and they took me back to the ER. Same DR was there, and I think he almost shit himself when my daddy “pulled him aside”. My BP was very low, stomach distended, & the rolling pains had gotten unbearable, I could not walk. What I call rolling pains is when I can feel one coming, it would get to a 1000 on the pain sale, then subside, they were occurring ever 10-15 min. They gave me more dilated “than a 250lb male” would get, I was 110lbs. From the bruising that happened with the quickly failed IV, I believe it was not placed correctly, and she went through the other side of my vain, so the pain meds were not instantly entering my body. Finally the pain subsided, and I was released. This kept up for 3 months, happening every 1-3 weeks, I found my GI Dr when he was making rounds in the hospital. I went through sooo many tests, so many ER visits, and admitted multiple times. My mom can only describe it as “it was like watching you go through labor”. Finally I agreed happily to exploratory surgery, where they ended up removing 8in of my colon that was 98% restricted from scar tissue, and I was diagnosed with Crohn’s. My boyfriend had been accused of poisoning me, I was labeled a drug seeker (thankfully early ruled out), and even put under psychiatric watch at one hospital stay. It is terrifying to be in that much pain, I honestly thought I was dying a few times, and not having any answers as to what was causing the pain except BS that was easily ruled out. I had very little trust in the care I received in the ER, I tried everything possible before giving up & going in. The care was great once I was admitted, and out of the ER.
I'm a Crohn's patient too I swear the pain is worst than natural child birth, I've done it, Crohn's is worse
that sounds incredibly traumatic, i hope you're ok these days, as much as you can be after going through that, along with the life adjustments you surely required, you deserved better back then and i hope your future brings you the wellness you were denied
@@im19ice3 thank you very much, you are so kind. Thankfully my Crohn’s has been in remission for a long time. I have developed Gastroparesis, and medical PTSD. I now teach others w/chronic illnesses to advocate for themselves. I found my voice and began advocating for myself, and it was a major turning point in my life and care.

There's a difference between upholding the dignity of someone who struggles with their weight and glossing over the health risks. She didn't minimize risk she just said maybe there's a better way to say that. You know, manners? Empathy? That stuff.

Jenn Terry same I went to the hospital because I was experiencing pain and the doctor said it was sciatica and she asked me If i thought i was pregnant i said I didn’t think so , but that I wasn’t sure. She never had me take a pregnancy test. She just injected something into my buttock and that was it. 1 week later I was back at the hospital because my water broke and I had no idea what it was and I told them there was a lot of water coming out from down there but they made me wait in the ER for 2 hours almost 3 because they said they had to attend the sicker patients first.

@@teddybear5657 I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks and was told to attend hospital for a follow up D+C. When I came round from the anesthetic I told the nurses I was pregnant. They completely ignored me, but I KNEW. I told my husband when he came but he ignored me too. I couldn't get through to them. Five days later, the day after Christmas, I collapsed in pain at home, was taken into hospital and the result was a 3 month foetus attached to my ovary with the placenta. I lost four pints of blood into my abdominal cavity. So even if you realise you're pregnant you get ignored 😖

imagine going to the hospital because of extreme stomach pains, only to discover that you're pregnant and need to immediately go into surgery, but when you come out of surgery two weeks had passed and you now have twins. Like 15 minutes ago you thought you just had a burst appendix. I'd immediately assume i'm in the twilight zone.
I'm sorry. I'm overweight and haven't had a "normal" period in YEARS plus I only have 1 ovary and fallopian tube AND my tube is tied yet, when I go to my gynecologist with ANY symptoms that may resemble pregnancy, he orders a pregnancy test. Just saying
I feel ya. I am also overweight and have an IUD, and my gynaecologyst, who implanted it, still runs pregnancy tests just in case.
Gynecologists: let's do a pregnancy test just to be sure.
Family practice: Have you considered that your positive pregnancy test is just because you're obese?

It’s actually a huge problem. Your weight does have an effect on your overall health but even skinny people can have the same issues. Skinny people can have diabetes and heart issues.
I know people that got blood clots and are in much worse condition now because the doctor immediately came to the conclusion it was because of weight where if they had actually done their job the person wouldn’t have such complications now. There are lazy doctors... I’ve been told that I’m too complicated and that they didn’t have the time to see me as a patient. You’d be surprised how terrible some doctors can be

I’m currently fat but have been lots of different weights in my life (meds I take due to disability play havoc with weight). Can tell you from lived experience that it’s not at all unusual for a doctor to fail to offer tests when patient is overweight, but offer tests to a slimmer patient with the same symptoms. Add to that the impact of gender and race on accessing quality medical care...let’s just say that we ladies need to be advocates for ourselves!

I was always told to exercise. Finally got a woman dr and Bam, I have awful ovarian cysts. I was given help and its been great.

a teacher of mine had a similar thing happen- she didn't realize she was pregnant until over halfway through (i don't remember when but it was possibly 6 months!). she was heavy set but you'd still think she'd like- look pregnant you know? she was in her 40s + iirc she thought she couldn't even get pregnant so it was a nice surprise, her + her husband had been trying for a kid for a while (sounded like they'd given up), this was basically like a miracle baby. really sweet. they seemed like they'd make great parents, i'm sure that kid has been growing up so spoiled!

Had multiple miscarriages and this last time my dr prescribed progesterone to help baby thrive and it has worked wonders! Almost halfway through my pregnancy and so thankful to my dr for listening to me and helping. She is super excited at every visit that everything is going so well. She followed my journey and actually delivered my oldest.

I loved this but I will say when you’re overweight (from someone who has always struggled with being obese and thin) doctors always say “it’s because you’re overweight” at least in my experience from being a teenager until adulthood. The only time I felt like doctors listened to me was when I was extremely thin.

I was diagnosed with early ovaric failure, I had no period for about six years, I was on early menopause meds for about two years... AND I got pregnant with no symptoms until I went to the doctor and found I was 25 weeks pregnant. Best doctor error ever. Thanks God even with no folic acid and with a chronic disease my baby was born totally healthy. And she's 10yo now. So she is a miracle ❤️
This gives me hope lol. I have no health problems and I am fertile with healthy hormone levels but I haven't been able to get pregnant. It's been a few months of unprotected sex EVERY DAY out of the month sometimes even multiple times (so I never missed out on the ovulation timing) and still I get my period every month. It is kind of worrying and discouraging because you hear of others having babies easily and you start comparing yourself. Especially for someone like me who has no issues but still hasn't conceived for some reason
@@alyailithyia my cousin underwent several fertility sessions, she gave up, adopted, and two months after adoption she got pregnant, doctors and psychologists say she put herself onto so much stress she was unwilingly causing the issue, when she got the adopted baby she relaxed and bam! Knocked out. So, relax, you will be able to get pregnant and have a beautiful baby

In 2014 I was in Nottingham, England & thought I had a rough period. Fist size blood clots fell out of me in the bathroom. I felt a huge pain like labor & I blacked out. When I came to my partner had called an ambulance
I was rushed to Queens medical center. I told the nurse I had to pee
She brought a commode
I had another hard labor pushing pain. And I thought another clot had dropped
I looked and it was a pale grey dead mass. The size of a toilet paper tube.
I had to sign a release form to give it to them for a scientific paper on the biggest fibroid they'd ever seen passed. They found more fibroids on the fundus. Recommend a marine coil. Gave me a depo shot & morphine and sent me home. After a year on depo shots & no coil. I went through the change. It was scary, because the pain was labor, but my partner had a vasectomy. So I was 🤔 confused. We were both relieved when it was over.
So, did the first baby lose her leg? There's only 3 feet in the photo.

I see that a lot. I am diabetic due to my PCOS and if i go to a doctor for any symptom they automatically see my diabetes and that's that. I was having severe foot pain and numbness and I went into the doctor and they saw my diabetes and said oh you have neuropathy from complications from your diabetes. I knew that was not the case. I had just been diagnosed with diabetes a year or two before and my glucose tests were not that high and my A1C's were a steady 5.9. Turns out after falling and a year and a half later I had a calcified disk in my neck that was cutting into my spinal cord causing my feet to be numb. When they fixed it the pain and numbness eased up a little but because it was so long there was damage.

i wasnt well informed on it either or on the birth control i was taking until i had my first visit to an obgyn, wish i would have done it years ago.
Also take into account that schools get funding to push abstinence only during sex ed without talking about birth control in many schools. Not all sexual education is taught the same.
Fun fact, teen pregnancy rates in areas where abstinence only or where abstinence is stressed are noticeably high than those where students were taught about contraceptives.

What I know about stds and things pertaining to sexuality I’ve learnt because my parents have explained it or I’ve seen on the internet, but these things were never covered in any of my high school classes. And I personally know classmates who are teen mothers, and just didn’t have the proper understanding of conservatives or measures they could have taken to deal with the situation. I've noticed that on a lot of these "i didn't know i was pregnant" things, it's usually people who are overweight, and were often overlooked by their doctors. Which, really sucks. Especially considering a lot of them DID go to the doctors, and did ask about pregnancy chances and were told they're just overweight and that's probably it without looking into it any further. I've actually had a lot of similar experiences (not with pregnancy) where i had a question, or a medical concern and instead of answering or treating it seriously the response was "it's because you're overweight"
Yes! It's very common for doctors to have a "fatphobia". I've learned this awhile back. I'm not overweight myself but I can understand how aggravating it is. Not to mention life threatening.

I’m currently pregnant with baby #2. I went to a local walk-in clinic that offers free pregnancy tests just to confirm that I was indeed pregnant (even though I had taken 4 tests) & was told I couldn’t be pregnant because of my weight but did a blood test anyway after I insisted. I left the walk-in clinic, went straight to Walmart & bought a digital test. Guess what? It was positive. So was the blood test.

Can confirm. I'm 36 weeks with my first (5'10, 300lbs) with an anterior placenta.
You don't feel or see much movement like you normally would, especially in the front. So I feel movement at the top portion near my ribs and the bottom near my cervix and hips. It was only when baby did a full rotation that I truly felt and saw something in the middle, just from the size and pressure.

I'm pretty skinny and always have been (my BMI is 20) and when I was 19 I had an IUD put in, had some very bad bleeding and went to my primary care doctor several times over the course of two months and he just kept reassuring me that I couldn't be pregnant and that first I was feeling super tired because I was anemic due to the really heavy period I'd had, and then I was feeling nauseous because of the iron pills I was taking for the anemia, and the spotting was just a very light period because I'd bled so much the previous month.
I finally got sick of it and decided to take matters into my own hands and take a pregnancy test at home, which turned positive immediately. So I went to an ob-gyn and guess what, I had a silent miscarriage at 11 weeks and needed an emergency d&c because the embryo had been dead since week 7 and I was at risk for a really serious uterine infection.
It was really traumatic and it took me years to trust doctors after that.
So I'm sure it happens more to overweight women, but doctors telling you your are definitely not pregnant without bothering to check seems to be a pretty common thing.
i guess i should count myself lucky I'm in England and every time i go see a doctor for anything related to birth control or issues with my cycle etc they do a pregnancy test first. i dont understand why her doctor did not do one as you can get tests from Poundland here and i bet you can get them at dollar tree or whatever your local cheap shop is. usually 2 tests for £1 so it cant cost hospitals that are purchasing in bulk more than 10p per test strip if that. such a quick cheap thing to do that could prevent something horrible

I lost several babies, and the times I lost them not knowing I was even pregnant are still absolute losses...people don’t seem to understand that. They don’t understand grieving someone I didn’t plan to have in my life.

When I went I told them that it was my first visit. We pretty much went over my medical history and contraceptive options. The only time I’ve gotten examined was when I was getting my IUD implanted
Great idea. I feel like that may be helpful to some girls that are too embarrassed to ask their parent. I feel like maybe girls who are raised primarily raised by a male figure (not that they wouldn't try to explain but if you haven't been through it personally it might be difficult to explain) plus it's almost always more difficult to talk to your dad about these things. At least in my opinion and experience.
Yes that would be great. Like, what time in your cycle? Can I wear leggings, or nothing tight? What do I have to look out for after a pap smear? Is pain normal?

So I have never been pregnant but I have read that gallstone pain is the same level/similar to having a baby. Let me tell you, when I was 18 I was not expecting to have a gallstone. I thought I was dying in the nurse's office. She kept telling me that it was probably period cramps despite me telling her that I don't get those, or they aren't bad, and I know my body and I am not having period cramps. When I got to the hospital, I had burns on my stomach from the heating pad and I didn't even feel that because I was in so much pain. Because the pain is similar to childbirth, my sisters started calling me "Gall-mama" which I HATED. I'm a lot better now, I've only had gallstones twice, and I just *love* it when people say "Gallstones, well you can't have had gallstones, you're too young to have gallstones!" like thanks? I guess I didn't then? You fixed me? I know my body, your words are detrimental and I now get really anxious when I'm in pain because I don't know who will believe me and who will tell me it's anxiety, period cramps, or literally nonexistent.

Diabetes is EXTREMELY serious. It can cause kidney failure,blindness, limb amputation,coma and death. It’s not funny.

I wished I watched this video when you posted it. I held a lot of shame because when I went to get a prescription for the morning-after pill, the doctor was like, "you know, many consider this as an abortion pill. Do you still want it?"
He didn't know my situation (I was assaulted) and even if I wasn't, I was an adult capable of making my own decisions. I was not seeking his opinion on that matter in any way.

That's so fucked up. Someone asking for the morning after pill is obviously a person who doesn't want to be pregnant, why would a doctor discourage them from taking a very low-risk step to prevent it from happening? He's a medical professional, he's supposed to educate people about why it's _not_ like the abortion pill, or at the very least he should not be encouraging his patients to believe that.
If you had decided not to take it because he told you that people say it's the same as abortion and you're opposed to abortion (I don't know if you are, I'm just speaking hypothetically), then what? Now you'd be exposed to all kinds of risks to your physical and mental health for a baby you _don't_ want, and if you decided to keep the baby, assuming you survived the pregnancy and labor, now there's yet another child in the world being raised by someone who doesn't want to be a parent. That doctor is really pissing me off. I'm sorry this happened to you.
That's so rude. I bought the morning after pill at a CVS and I had no problems. I didn't have to talk to a doctor, just the girl at the register. I'm sorry that he was such a jerk to you
I am so sorry that you went through this horrible experience. However, I want to say that I don't agree with Mama Doctor Jones because the morning after pill does have the potential to prevent an egg from implanting that was fertilized. Although implantation isn't guaranteed to occur, a fertilized egg generally would develop into a human being.
