      Or she says nothing, he simply gets a demand for child support in the mail. Gets a lawyer, goes to court, just to meet his daughter in front of the judge.... he’d of course demand a paternity test (rightfully so) and be astonished by the results. Oh to be a fly on that way!!!

    I was a preemie breach. I was also an emergency c-section, because I got stuck in the canal while I was breach (mom doesn't know what type of breach I was). When they finally got me out, they found that my umbilical cord had wrapped itself around my neck and between my mom trying to push me out, and the position I was in, it cut off my oxygen. I was technically stillborn, and it took the team that delivered me up to five minutes to get me to successfully breathe again. I officially came into the world at 30 weeks. I was just a little under five pounds, and that's all I know. My mom doesn't like to relive it, because she says that's the worst moment of her life, crying for me to breathe while trying to survive herself. I was the last child she had, because of the damage done, she had to have a hysterectomy... We're both lucky to be alive honestly

      I was born two weeks early but the doctor made my mom not push when she felt that she needed to. So I stayed in longer than was necessary. When I finally did come out, I had inhaled my meconium (that’s the first poop h the at a baby has after birth) in the womb and was not breathing. I was completely purple and was without oxygen for a few minutes. Doctors were worried that I would have cerebral palsy because they couldn’t get me breathing.

    My grandmother’s neighbor delivered two babies breech at home. Her husband insisted to keep all the births natural. He was a veterinarian and thought he was qualified enough, and was super into them having this all natural homestead style lifestyle. It went okay for the first two.....and then they lost their daughter at birth and the mother came extremely close to death herself. It was straight up said that the death was caused by neglectful intervention practices. He knew something was wrong when the baby (for the THIRD TIME was breeched), he knew she had a cord wasn’t supplying oxygen, and he knew his wife was bleeding far too heavily after the birth. Yet he thought he could handle it. He wasn’t able to revive the baby himself and then waited a horribly long time before calling EMT’s for his wife because he thought he could stop the bleeding. This was in the country were it could easily take half an hour or more for an ambulance to arrive so by the time they got there she was in a VERY bad way. If he had just been a tad more responsible maybe he’d have a thirty year old daughter today and wouldn’t have put his wife and sons through the trauma of losing the baby girl and almost losing her. People who think it’s okay to delivery breech, especially at home.... oh my god they’re infuriating. Even with medical intervention at a hospital it can end so tragically.

    • @0eskobar0
      @0eskobar0 2 роки тому +25

      I delivered my first baby breech. In a hospital setting with an amazing doctor super experienced with breech. I know the „Term Breech Trial“ showed a bigger risk for the child and changed the paradigm in a lot of countries BUT it has been heavily criticised for being a methodologically VERY poor study. So with experienced doctors and midwifes delivering breech vaginally poses no bigger risk (for mother and baby, given there are no known risk factors) than a cesarian plus it has all benefits of a vaginal birth :)

    38 weeks: "Everything's looking great, Mrs. J! Are you excited to bring your 3rd child into the world?"
    39 weeks: "Mmmmm... This one's gonna be sassy."
    That one epic barrel roll set the tone for our whole relationship.

She went to the doctor because she thought she had an abdominal cyst (which she'd had before) and when he said she was pregnant she said "No I'm not". She told me that later when she looked back at the pictures from that time before she realized that she doesn't even know how she didn't see that she was pregnant. Denial can be very powerful.

    • @DracaliaRay
      @DracaliaRay Рік тому +4

      That sounds like it depends on how thin the mother’s patience has run and exactly what they’re feeling guilty about. A run over foot could be interpreted by a tired and frustrated mother as attention seeking (which they then feel guilty about later if it’s more serious than they thought). Not eating properly or preparing properly when you’re pregnant because you don’t know would kill me too, because that could literally permanently damage a whole ass human being. They could get sick, have CP, epilepsy severe learning disabilities etc if you make that mistake. A run over foot in comparison becomes a funny story when the kid grows up.
      (My brother in law had something similar happen to him where his mom shut the car door on his hand and didn’t believe him. She’s the sweetest most Mrs. Clause like person I know, but the stories her three sons have about getting her riled up enough to do things like throw them into the bathtub fully clothed because they refused to bathe are hilarious now).

    I was 18 had been with my baby's father for 3 1/2 years. I was finishing cheerleading, show choir, basketball and softball as well as training for summer volleyball. I was a size 5 and had an actual 6 pack. I bled every month. I used tampons. I felt a flutter in my abdominal. So I took a test and it was negative. So I made an appt with ob/gyn. I went in and talked with the doc she palpate my stomach said I was 6 weeks pregnant...I said when do you feel movements? She asked if I felt movement I told her I am pretty sure. So she sent me for urgent ultrasound. They say I am 12 weeks according too size. I left the office was just getting into my vehicle and a nurse slams through the door and called my name. She said the Dr. wanted too talk too me. So I followed her back in and they took me beyond the waiting room behind the locked door. The Dr. said you are not 12 weeks pregnant you are 21 weeks...you are over half of the way through your pregnancy. I passed out from shock. I went home and told my folks...even though I had graduated high school. I started bleeding again and went to the ER and was put on complete bed rest for the next 5 weeks too my left side only. I was put on yitapar or ritadine too help prevent early delivery and she was delivered at 26 weeks gestational. I had placenta abruption/ pre eclampsia. So she was in the NICU for 3 months and we went home when she reached 5 lbs...in cabbage patch doll clothes. She is now 29 years old.

    My daughter was an opposing footling breech with a prolapsed cord…yes, things can go quite wrong with a breech birth. Fortunately as I was about to be rushed off for caesarean surgery because of the prolapsed cord that one foot dropped and she ended up being quite literally dragged into the world by the foot, with the other foot still up in front of her face. We both survived the experience ok although there was a bit of healing involved.

    My mother had a period almost every month when she was pregnant with my sister. Her periods where a little erratic anyway so she didn’t think anything of it. She thought she might be pregnant, but her pregnancy test was negative. She didn’t have any other symptoms! None! She didn’t even look pregnant. At all! I was 17 at the time, and she and I had gone to the pool 2 days before she had her first Braxton Hicks. She was wearing a bikini. There are photos. She started having terrible pains that she thought were cramps before her period. They got bad so we went to the E.R. And that’s when they told her she was 7 months pregnant. 😳 Everyone in our family flipped! It was crazy! Lol. However, we were so grateful that she found out and was able to get proper medical care for her last 2 months. Instead of randomly giving birth one day on the kitchen floor or something.

Forget stupid admissions! I ended up delivering alone because when examined, I was only 4cm, but 7 minutes later , I was in the delivery room, alone with 3 babies. As I literally RAN past the clerk at the labour & delivery desk, I told her I was pushing. Help arrived in 9 minutes, so AFTER all 3 and my placenta were out. Birthing time was 2 minutes 17 seconds between baby 1&3. If only cameras were in delivery rooms then! AND, actually, before I delivered them, I only knew about 2 babies. I thought the 3rd baby was just the placenta. It was the 3rd baby AND the placenta! Shock! Joy! When my doctor came running in, I said, “JACKPOT!” They confuse me to this day. At age 25 daughter A’s husband had my daughter all entwined in his arms, legs, standing, posing for a silly picture. I ❤️’d it on Instagram and the next day found out it was Daughter T! “Oh J&A, you are too cute!” As far as I know only my kids know I was THAT close to shaming myself on public social media!

    I think that it's understandable that this woman didn't know she was pregnant. Firstly she did a pregnancy test to see if she was in fact pregnant, which came up negative for whatever reason. Secondly, she continued to have bleeding throughout the pregnancy which she assumed was her period. And finally, this is obviously her first pregnancy and symptoms such as heartburn and movement can be explained away since she has no point of reference to think that what she's feeling is anything other than digestive issues. Also she's experiencing one of life's major stress events, the end of a marriage, is it any wonder that this happened.
    I look forward to your videos and enjoy them all and I hope everyone is keeping safe and well.

    • @deniz_dee
      @deniz_dee 4 роки тому +35

      Yep, and this story just made me more paranoid. I'd taken a plan b pill after a minor condom accident, because me and my bf would rather be safe than sorry. It wasn't the first time I'd taken it and I know it throws my cycle slightly out of balance. Like, I started PMSing very heavily around the appropriate time for my period, but the period itself started about 5 days later and was completely normal, if you discount the part that my usual light spotting-ish first day took like two days instead. So I did a pregnancy test during my next cycle, it's negative. But then I freaked out again during my next cycle's PMS, which also started too early AND I had heartburn, so I double freaked out. But at the same time I'd gone back on iron supplements and vitamins which I need every few months and while I previously hadn't experienced any problems with, they could've caused the heartburn. I've been completely regular since then and it's been months but it just remains as a lingering fear at the back of my head and this episode certainly didn't help, even though it's been 5 months since and I absolutely had no other 'signs' except for those 5 occurrences of heartburn -_-

      She did seem to be suspicious, but in denial. Which is super understandable. Although I still can't imagine not being suspicious enough to go to a doctor about it, but everyone's symptoms are different. Recently I had a chemical pregnancy, which was interesting and 100% unexpected. My entire body chemistry changed even though I never had enough hcg to test positive. It did sort out a couple of hormonal issues I'd had since my twins were born, which was nice. Pregnancy is weird.

      I had a friend who didn't figure out she was pregnant until she was nearly in her third trimester. She was on some sort of birth control that stops periods, and since she'd just broken up with her boyfriend, she figured a lot of her symptoms -- weight gain, digestive issues, etc. -- were down to stress from that. I would not be at all surprised if this woman (understandably) wrote off a lot of other little signs because of stress, especially because she'd had a negative pregnancy test.

    I feel like a lot of the “i didn’t know i was pregnant” stories i really don’t get, but this one makes a lot more sense than some of them.

      Yeah for sure. If she was still getting what seemed like a period every month and her preg test was negative I can totally see how she wouldn't realize she was pregnant, especially is she wasn't showing. My best friend just recently had a baby (full term and perfectly healthy, most beautiful baby ever born I must say) and she didn't start showing until the last couple weeks of her pregnancy

      I always thought the same thing until my mom who is an ob/gyn told me that women can still get their period during pregnancy and also not show like how we typically imagine it it’s rare but it can happen

      My mother has a “backwards uterus” where basically the uterus is tilted back further away from the stomach. So when she was pregnant with me and my sister she didn’t begin showing until after 7 months.
      But even when she began showing it just kinda looked like if someone had eaten a large dinner the night before.

    First time watching and bringing me all the feels and remembering the nicu. So happy they and you did a nicu story! My son was born 5 weeks early after getting a cervix check. He was born 2 days later. He came home 23 days later after Bradys. The isolette is definitely hard because you have to ask to hold your baby.

    I was involved in a delivery like this. Patient didn’t know she was pregnant complained of abdominal pain. When they went to do an US she was screaming 😕 They checked her and she was 10 cm. I set the table. I was freaking out as a new grad L&D nurse 😭🤣

      Sounds like a very memorable delivery :o I'm curious, what do you mean by setting the table?

    • @camaibass9646
      @camaibass9646 4 роки тому +20

      Calmly Wetherill, I’m not a doctor, but I’ve had two babies. From my experience, a table is basically like a rolling cart with supplies that the OB or CNM will need immediately after delivery: cord clamps, a container for the placenta, sutures and local anesthetic for tearing, the scissors used to cut the cord, etc. I’m not sure what else might be on there though, those are just the things I know about from my births.

      What about a baby bump? Can a woman be pregnant and don't show one of this?

    • @Mommamacnz
      @Mommamacnz 4 роки тому +33

      @@alecoloxa yes, a woman can be pregnant and not show. My midwife told me she had more than one woman turn up at the delivery suite in a slinky skin tight dress showing nothing and walk out half an hour later with a full term baby in her arms after a very fast delivery.

    • @nicolawalton3754
      @nicolawalton3754 4 роки тому +25

      @@alecoloxa Absolutely; there's another episode of this show where the mother has a photo of herself the day before she gave birth wearing a bikini and sporting a totally flat and toned stomach. It depends on position of baby and mother's body (my uterus slopes backwards and I didn't show very much in my 2nd pregnancy and was sent for extra growth scans with my 3rd because I wasn't measuring big enough for my dates). Having toned stomach muscles can mask it too.

      I mean, it's worth people knowing that in certain situations with someone who is trained to deliver breech babies that it's entirely possible. As opposed to just cutting. I'm guessing "Susan" was being condescending, and that's what warranted the sass?
      Birth has been so intensely pathologised, it's understandable that this is frustrating for some folks. Thank goodness for science and medicine, but it's nice to remember that birth is a normal physiological process. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    If I didnt get a positive pregnancy test with my first,I probably would've gone my entire pregnancy not knowing. I lost 20 pounds during my pregnancy, I didnt show at all, not even at 37 weeks. My baby had IUGR and was 4.3 lbs when she was born,so super duper tiny. I went to dinner the night before my induction and my husband said to the waitress "tomorrow we are having a baby so we are celebrating our last supper" lol and the waitress asked if we were adopting and I said no, I'm 37 weeks pregnant and she looked honestly in shock. I believe it's possible to go a whole pregnancy without knowing if the right set of variables occur.

      Same I went from abs to a slight pooch at 8 months and then a stick after I delivered, I had test regularly due to other conditions and they all turned out negative, I had a seizure one day and every test after that was positive so I didn't know I was pregnant til the end of my 6 months mark.

    • @Kytti-not-kitty

      I have a seizure condition as well and I think that somehow affected the hometest results, because I was huge, round and 8mths and it would still come up negative 😂

    Thank you for how direct and informative you are about breech birth.
    Granted I was born in the 70's and things were different, but I was Frank Breech.
    About 8 weeks before due date, they had my mother lay upside down on an angled board for several hours a day. It worked! I came out head first!
