- This is one of the hardest videos I have had to film. I talk openly about autism diagnosis and the process we went through. Some words of wisdom on how I got through it. I am as honest and raw as I’ll ever be.

Dylan Larson I am high functioning autism to and I am 18 and I graduated high school
Bravo dylan. Stay blessed
This makes me so happy to hear. Hoping my daughter will accomplish all you have Dylan
This made me soooo emotional. My two year old was recently diagnosed with level 3 asd. He was playing with his cars today and I was on the floor with him and he came up and kissed me twice 😭🥰 seriously the best feeling in the world
Natalie Mastroianni oh that’s made me cry! So lovely big hug x

I don’t have a child with autism but somehow I stumbled I across of this video. I just want to say that those videos of you and your son are one of the most precious things I have ever seen. You are an amazing mama, respect to you.
thank you so much for taking the time to comment really means a lot x
@@ComingHometoAutism salute for your bravery for facing and dealing with your son ❤️❤️
I see some signs in my great niece but I'm scared to say anything to my niece or my sister cause sometimes people take things the wrong way my great niece is 1 and I notice she ignores u she flaps her hands when she get excited watching cartoons she's not saying most words toddlers say could someone please give me advice on how do I bring it up to my niece or my sister who's the grandmother
@@ComingHometoAutism I had a classmate who had a brother with autism she was kind of his caregiver because parents had nothing to do with him yeah she was kind of mean to him at times and yeah she could be kind of a b**** to him at times but she was also the same kind of woman that would bounce your head against one of the school tables have you even looked at her brother wrong I still the same kind of girl that would probably river dance On your body if you made him cry and also the same kind of girl they told a 6 foot football player if he made Fun of her brother again he'd be a 4 foot football player and she was 4 feet herself
Lots of similarities to my story and my son. He's almost 23, did 2 years in college, has worked jobs, traveled, has hobbies and groups of friends and lives a great life.

I just found out last week my 4 year old first born child is autistic & it's hard because he doesn't say any words I spent 2 nights crying just trying to figure out how can I help him, I just want to say God gives the biggest battles in life to the strongest soldiers, You are a strong person and an Amazing mum! X
Im 22 and I was diagnosed with Autism when I was 16 and I did 4 years at college and now I'm in my 2nd year of university doing better than I ever thought I would
That's amazing so very happy for you ❤
@@TeresaRamirez-yb9iu thank you
Thank you so very much for sharing xox
Thank you for this video. We just got the diagnosis today. It has been overwhelming and I already have been feeling like others don’t want me to feel all the emotions I’m feeling about this. I love my son and know he can and will live a full life, but I still have fear and worry about how the world will treat him.
I was just told my son is possibly autistic. I’ve been noticing more signs now and I feel so overwhelmed. I am also 3 weeks postpartum so it has been a lot. I love my babies so much… I’m just so sad thinking about how others might treat him.
The world is changing very quickly and in favour of our kiddos keep positive, it’s gonna be okay x
I loved this video, my son is 7 with Autism. He was almost all non verbal until he was 5! Now he is making complete sentences and can have a conversation! He is half autism program and half gen ed. We never know how our kids will grow but we can never give up on them. Forget the doctors who say there's nothing we can do. We as parents have to work hard for our kids. Bless you and your beautiful family. ❤
Amazing story thanks for sharing x
You're right families with the "typical" child do not understand. It took me having my second child and watching her developing faster than her big brother was the awakening for me. You're a beautiful family, thank you for your openness.
Jasmine Perry thank you my friend x
I am on the spectrum. I stim, there are lots of foods I can’t eat as well as fabrics I can’t touch or wear . I’m a terrible sleeper in facts it’s the hardest part of having autism for me( because when I’m tired my symptoms worsen). I get overwhelmed in stores and large crowds. With that being said there is hope . I am a productive member of society. I have a full time job , a house a car . And I have raised two amazing daughters. Diet for me is huge I’m a vegan and try to eat Whole Foods . My symptoms are lessened when I eat well and when I have a strict routine.
Kym Robinson hey there! Wow thank you so much for reaching out and commenting. Your an inspiration! Your right diet can make a huge difference as I have noticed with my son. ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing all of these detail. We are not quite sure where my son fits his symptoms are so mild and compounded by other medical problems.... and he is constantly changing. But i am his mom, i know who he is and will never stop fighting for the best for him.
Shara cy I’m sure with you by his side he will flourish 🥰. The hardest thing about having mild “ symptoms “. Is that people don’t know how hard the person is working on the inside . So that way the world can perceive them as mild . I just want to show the world as well as new parents that hearing their child has autism isn’t the end of the world . I’m sure your son is amazing 😊 and having a label doesn’t change that .
@@kymrobinson9589 I cannot thank you enough. All medical professionals have told me no or he is in the mild to no signs group or his famous diagnosis of Devolpmental Delay (he has mild hearing loss as well). Though a part of me was always afraid of him having any disability, through people like you I know we are going to be ok. I always thought i dont want anything to be "wrong" but the truth is I dont want him to live his life pretending to be something he is not... so I embrace his quirks when possible, follow up with ALL appointments, check ups, reviews but most importantly we embrace a new way of life that fosters his learning pattern and ensure he is confident, independent and happy.
Shara cy You are a Rock Star mom ❤️❤️❤️
I am an expecting mom. I am so glad I stumbled on this video! I am a special needs teacher for level 3 asd. You did amazing in intervening with your son. I am always very amazed when parents educated themselves and whole heartedly do the best they can for their child! Thank you!
I'm also 25 years old and recently had my first son (3 months old and a half) and he was born with vocal chord paralysis almost,he was 1 month at a children's hospital in NICU and was very hard since he is my first child .Wished all babies would born healthy and strong . Hugs to all the strong babies and Moms 🙏🙏blessings to ALL
God bless you ur baby..
Thank you for this video! My daughter just got diagnosed with autism. She’s 2.5 years old. I cry, I cry a lot because I feel alone and I’m overwhelmed and I don’t know where to start. Your video made me feel that everything will be okay. Thank you very much
thank you for your comment. its all going to be ok i promise you . i know its not easy but you have a big support group behind you. x
Khristine Ocampo thank you for your comment. It’s ok to cry it’s part of the process but I do promise you everything will work out and there are so many parents like us and we are all on a similar journey and together we are stronger xox
Be strong, you can do this. My son is now 23 and he was diagnosed at 3. It’s been a rocky road but honest there is light. Here if you need to talk or need support.
Please, do some research about vaccines second effects. No 100% of kids respond the same way. Good nutrición can clean the system. ( I am not an expert). Take care.

Sharing stories makes hearts feel relief and more comfortable...
i am so pleased x
When i got my son diagnosed i cried a lot too. Even though Autism isnt bad, i felt like it was my fault. And i did feel alone as well. God doesn't give us things we can't handle.
Idk how this can be true... my autistic sister committed suicide in 2019... obviously she was givin to much 💔
As an autistic adult who got a late diagnosis I really loved the valuable information you have shared.
Thank you so much for commenting x
Love you matt
I’m a single mom with a son on the Spectrum
This video is so helpful thank you for your story makes me feel not so alone
sometimes when you’re going through it you feel like no one has and it’s not true
Elsa N it can feel very lonely at times and that’s why I wanted to set up a channel where no one had to deal with this alone. Sending you love x
I don't have children, but I just wanted to say you are such a strong and engaged mum. I don't know what it is like have a child with ASD, but what I do know is that you being an advocate for your sons health and wellbeing is really empowering to watch. So happy to see that you shared your journey with the world.
Thank you xox
This is the first video I’ve ever seen of yours but it is apparent that you’re a wonderful mummy
Emily Scobie thanks so much for watching hope you enjoy the others too xox
This is awesome! Love that your strong to share this and help others. I taught autistic 4 yr olds for 10 years and learned so much from them.
I'm so happy you won't give up. I have struggled to have someone believe me my child has dyslexia. No one understands my pain.
I’m crying watching this because I’m going through all of this with my son. Thank you for sharing your story.
I am just melting watching this.
So brave. So strong. So proud. I’m in admiration of your strength.
My daughter is three she was diagnosed with autism this year but I knew way before... this will make you love them even more.
SLAY-AYANA way were her symptoms? I’m concerned for my daughter😢
Same here.
Just got diagnosed for my 3 years old son with mild autism this year but I struggled alot with him.
It was not easy to accept but when I accepted it and came into peace,he is improving day by day.
I knew even b4 he was 2 but still sometimes I feel so anxious about his future yet trying to stay happy mostly.😑
He is 3 and 1/2 and yet not said a single word but communicate his emotions through hugging, crying, holding my hand, taking me to the place wherever he wants to go😊
@@esrshxhfs look into vaccines and how they cause Autism. Go to vaxxed tv on UA-cam and watch the parents testimonies. My son is two and never been vaccinated and never will and he is just fine
London Girl what signs did you see? My son is getting evaluated next week. He’s 2.5 now but we knew something wasn’t right around 13 months. Did your son have words and regress?
@@MissDub16 Hun it could b but my son is youngest of 4 even his one sister is only 13 months older than him and she is bilingual, far more mature than her age so I don't know the reason? And to b honest now I m not even looking into it cos now I m trying to focus on what can make him better😊
Thank you so much. I’ve been so overwhelmed lately cause doctors keep telling me everyone develops differently but there is a clear difference between a meltdown and a normal toddler tantrum and she turned two in July and still isn’t sleeping through the night. We struggle to go out to eat as a family and get so many looks when she gets over stimulated and we even try to go during the week when there aren’t many people there. This video has given me the strength to try again with her doctor cause they don’t see any of it. She has seen how frustrated people can get when she is overwhelmed and so in a new environment with different people around she doesn’t show her true self as much and then melts down when we get home she struggles with being in her car seat so we always have to keep toys and snacks in the car but we never know what is going to work on what day and don’t get me started on how hard the days are when our schedule is different. I have been trying to work with her and find what works for her but everyone around me keeps telling me to just discipline her and that I can “out last” her melt downs when I have to take what makes her comfortable like juice or milk at night without any guidance on how to replace that coping skill. Thank you so much for these videos they are really helping me to not feel like a failure as a mom so often ❤🙏🥹
I can feel your pain because i'm in the same situation with my 5 year old autistic son, i'm 23 year old and you inspire me so much thank you for sharing your story.
Barbara Romain Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. Sending you a big hug you’re an amazing mamma
Neverending thanks for sharing your case. I'm a doctor, even if I'm not a pediatrician but we learn faster and faster from case videos rather than from books. It takes to be intelligent and brave to share such experiences. Keep on so and I wish you all the best for your son. A huge hug.
My brother also has autism I’m so emotional watching your video that I couldn’t finish them but I feel you and as a sister to him I want to say that living with autism is special and not easy, it’s love that keep us all together. I’m proud being his little sister and now that I’m having my first child, I understand my parent more and more and I’m so proud of them raising both of us. Thank you for making this video and sharing your personal story. It meant a lot to all the autism family ❤️❤️
Dylan is absolutely beautiful! You are such a strong, amazing mama! Your family is so blessed to have you...sending you lots of love
sweetest comment ever thank you so much x
I’ve watched this video more times than I can count. I’m at the beginning of this journey. My son is 21 months old and just began showing signs of regression. I am still in the crying stage.. but I know he will be ok. Because I’ll move heaven and earth to see it through. Thank you for your candour 💜
My heart goes out to you and your family, Rayyan Mohamed. Do not vaccinate him anymore. Drinking camel milk daily can actually help your son to improve, as far as I have read previously. I would definitely try that. If you don't live in a country where you can buy it fresh, you can order Camel Milk Powder through Amazon. May Allah heal your son and bless and protect your whole family.
@Raya autism starts in the gut and spreads, later resulting in neurological showings. Heal the gut help the baby.
Thank you for your candidness and honesty. I’ve never had a child but I’m a teacher and am familiar with autism. I appreciate your honesty. It’ll help many.
This made me cry, I felt like it was me speaking through that video, thank you for posting, my son is 2.5 years and has his ASD assessment coming up, in my heart I know but just want the resources to help my son have the most happy life he can have. You are an amazing mom❤ Lots of love from🇨🇦
You have a wonderful relationship with your son, well done. My daughter was diagnosed at 18 months, I have brought her up on my own along with her older brother. It has been hard work but when I see how she is now at 31 I am so proud how she has coped along the way. She has a job, drives, and has many wonderful friends all with some form of learning difficulty, she could not cope with mainstream friends, her brain doesn't function the same way. I wish you and your lovely family all the best, all the hard work and perseverance will pay off.
my nephew and godson is autistic. it all depends who raises them. most ( not all ) are not sure what to do, but some do and they go above and beyond to raise them like being normal and they will and can live a brilliant life. it also depends on the level of autism he or she has.
My son's a Dylan also, diagnosed with autism at 3 years old, he had an injury from the Tdap, lost all his words, have done biomed healing, he's doing so good now, don't lose heart or hope!
lovely to hear thank you x
God Bless all of you mothers that dont walk away from this! I am fighting for you daily...
Thank you for this video. I have worked in the field of early intervention in a school setting and now own an inclusionary preschool. Videos from parents who live this everyday are so helpful for other parents going through the same thing.
❤️❤️❤️ Your video is still being watched. Thank you so much for sharing your story! It gives me hope.
🙌 for your statement about early intervention! I am an early intervention provider in the U.S. and have found some really nice success with the Autism Navigator program for toddlers.
Chantelle Miller hey there thank you for taking the time to comment and for you for all that you do to help families like ours x
Autism has such a HUGE spectrum. Never judge any bodies challenges, stress, grief and tools to cope. I wish everyone well.
Evil Pussywillow well put thank you
You give me so much hope, you make me want to keep going, it gets so hard with 5 children and one of them being Level 3 on the spectrum and hearing loss in his left ear. I feel like I have no one that can relate but after seeing this IM NOT ALONE. Support is so important and patience as well. We are blessed with these children. I love my 3 year old autistic son! I wouldn’t trade him even when I’m going through the storm or tornado and hurricanes I should say. He such a sweet lovable boy who I’m still figuring out! Thank you, thank you for sharing everything!
Its so nice to watch something like this and to know there's other people out there that are going through the same thing my wife and I are going through. Its a journey that only can be understood when it's in your own home. Thankyou for sharing. I will definitely be following your channel.
Thank you for sharing your journey. Your story is powerful and brings lots of hope. I don't have any children yet, but I am really inspired by your strength and dedication to your son. I am so happy to see Dylan's progress. Blessings always.
thank you
Whenever you decide to have children look into the dangers of vaccines. They do cause Autism. Go to vaxxed tv on UA-cam. You will learn so much from the parents. My son is two and never been vaccinated and he is healthy as can be
I just want to say thank you to you and other mothers of autistic children sharing on this platform. Your experience is so similar to what we've been going through with my 3 year old. Even had his hearing checked. He's slowly using more words, but the tantrums have been out of this world since he was 2. I understand the pain you feel, because I feel it too. Ir's not their fault, or our faults, and we try to not compare. I am a preschool teacher and my son was in my class prior to quarantine. It was so hard seeing him unable to interact with peers, or engage in things as a class. But this video is reminding my that I am not alone. And that I am not at fault, autism happens to anyone. The hardest is seeing him hurt himself out of frustration, even at 18 months old to see a baby trying to bash their head into the wall, it's heartbreaking as a mother. Luckily we've worked through those intense emotions.
Sending you so much love x
I don’t have children yet but I watched this entire video. I now have a better understanding of autism and what you can look out for so thank you for this. You are doing such a great job as a mom because from those clips Dylan looks so healthy, happy and smart. God gives the toughest battles to his toughest soldiers.
I found your channel by chance or faith. I am in America and I am raising my 3 year old autism grandson. He is non verbal and attention deficit disorder . My daughter in law drink heavy during her pregnancy so they think that is what cause his disorder. My son is incarcerated due to drugs and my daughter in law left him with us. We have adopted Nickolas. He is my son!!!! I look under every rock for help. You are so much encouragement. Thank you 😊
Thank you for sharing this. As a speech-language pathologist, it is so moving and important to see autism from a parent’s perspective. I’m glad you had the wherewithal and people in your life to take the action you needed to brighten your son’s future, and I wish the same for all of the parents I work with on a daily basis who are in the same situation.
Melissa Arauz thank you for taking the time to comment . It was only myself that pushed me forward and this is why I started this channel to help others through what was a very lonely time for me x
This is a great channel. My almost 17 year old son has Autism. It is a journey. We all, (as parents) do the best we can. Please be good to yourselves so that you can support your child with Autism. I wouldn't want my son any other way. He is amazing. All of our children are amazing.
Showing love and educating yourself was the greatest thing you could have done. Bless you.
Dylan is very lucky to have a Mommy like you! Godspeed 💜

Hi my name is Simon , and I was diagnosed with autism only seven years ago , and I'm 54 years old . At first it would be very worrying and upsetting , but your son will do the things that are a topical to Autism . Anyway you are doing a great job with him . All the best . Simon
It's a sad reality that many professionals just say, you can do nothing about your child's autism.
You are helping a lot by sharing your experience ❤️❤️
thank you so much x
I came from China and I heard many stories about kids diagnosed with autism recovered and they can go to normal school now. Play, play with the kid, and use a lot of interaction to stimulate him. There are many things that can be done.
I understand your heart hurts from hearing the news but happy you got the diagnosis. Love your baby to pieces you will always be his safe haven ❤️

I have never left a comment but this video compelled me to share a bit. Thank you so much for making this video! My 3 year old son was diagnosed ASD recently and tho I knew very early on, I’m still coping with my feelings and anxiety. I don’t always feel connected to him but I am searching for information and guidance to learn more. Again thank you for sharing your personal experience. A day like today where we barley got sleep and our morning was rough, and I dropped him off at preschool so I could sleep and cry alone; I am so grateful for the hope your video gave me.
Sending you a big hug please watch my video how I deal with my anxieties. I hope this will help you as you need to be gentle on your self also. Sending you a big hug c
"I cried because I didn't know what it meant." I love that. I love Autism. I've worked with autistic children as a behavioural interventionist. Being able to help them grow in motor function and speech and so much more was a blessing to me. I wish everyone knew how unique and wonderful people with autism are.
❤️ thank you
Godbless you! Hope you dont get tired with helping children with autism
i agree, they may be autistic but they are very smart. but because of their disability they can figure out how to show it or they can't figure it out

Your channel has helped me so much in just not feeling alone. My son was just recently diagnosed with Autism. Thank you for making these videos
I remember the day my son who is coming 4 received his diagnosis. I did not cry tears of sadness, I did not grieve for a child that I could've had because I already had the most uniquely perfect child who brought me so much joy and love every day. A love that doesn't need words, he reminds each and everyday how beautiful the small things in life are. I cried tears of joy and relief on the day of my son's diagnosis, it was a validation of identity for him and a celebration of better things to come. He inspires me on so many levels and has taught me more than I could ever teach him. 💖💖💖
sending you a big hug x
Me too Angelina. I didn't cry as well. I have been tutoring since I was 8 years old with kids myself being gifted. They call him level 3 BUT he's extremely intelligent like a lot of autistic children. His is just he has problems socializing with other kids, paying attention at times and group activities. How does that qualify him as a 3?? He no longer has melts down nearly as bad 2 years ago. Either way, he was always a blessing😁
Thank you for this! I feel as though everywhere must give newly diagnosed kids parents more info on what to do next or options. A pamphlet is not enough!
They do its crazy! let me tell you something that will change your world and here is a pamphlet so good luck! I just felt so alone in the whole process and I want to make sure that no one else has to feel the way I did . xox
Just starting to navigate this journey. Such a roller coaster already and I'm so thankful to have found your videos!

Kathleen M. Carson thank you for your super sweet comment makes my day and makes it all worth while x
He’s soo gorgeous. You are both doing a great job with Dylan. Thankyou for sharing your journey of love with him❣️
Very well explained Tara, the key lesson that you conveyed in this video is the need to work 'with' your children rather than trying to change them to meet your model of communication and engagement - meet them on their terms and they will thrive and respond.
You create very heart felt videos and I have appreciated all of the ones I have watched so far. Thank you

I'm a 45 year old man who was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome which has now turned into Autism Spectrum Disorder. Life has been extremely difficult and lonely but I'm now on a voyage of self discovery. Things were very different in the 1970's...no one had really heard of autism or were talking about it. Things may have been different if there was some early intervention then. Great video though and you're obviously a great mother.

You give me hope....and I wish for this everyday for my son to attend university and who is also on the spectrum and being bullied in school for being different. God Bless him.....
Eve Darth Hi there this makes me so sad to hear this have you spoken to the school about perhaps doing an autism awareness Day where they can try and teach the difference in different children. I would have the highest hopes for your son he is going to be a great man to please do not give up hope big love to you
Thank you for sharing your story. It's comforting to know that I am not the only mom out there that feels the same. My son is 3 an was just diagnosed an it has been a very ruff journey for us.
Nicole Vanterpool sending you love I know this is a hard journey always here if you want to chat x
I loved this video. Filled me with so much positivity. My son is 2.3 now and I also am seeing so many positive changes in him since I have started to spend most of my time whole day long with him keeping him engaged with such basic games that you mentioned to build a bond.. all that has really helped me a lot. Lots and lots of love to you lots n lots of prayers for you🙏
Hi, another fellow parent with very similar story. Thank you for sharing your experience, these types of videos are so helpful to new Autism parents, including myself 10 years ago! I too was determined to build a connection that was not coming typically with my son as well. Building a bond through play is about the best way to break into their world. For me, I just did what he liked with him, even if I thought it was silly. His stems, like running in circles, stacking items, and lining things up were the first ways, and it worked! Also, when be started speech therapy, I was always right there involved and continued it when the therapist wasn't there! God bless you and your family!
Great video. Thank you so much. You are helping a lot of mums in the same situation
Ada Solly Styling thank you.i just don’t want anyone to feel alone. I feel together we are stronger ❤️
thank you so much xx
Sounds very much like what happened with my daughter. She started regressing at 11 months. She’s nearly 3 and still no words. I live in hope that one day she’ll talk. I understand about the meltdowns. Adeline is like someone possessed when she kicks off, I can’t restrain or help her as she’s so strong she makes crazy noises it’s really scary. I dread when she gets older. Thanks for sharing this video.
Very touching; keep up the good work. No matter what our children need to know how much we love them...and that shows clearly in your words and warm eyes. God bless your family.
Children are amazing in all their fantastic variety. What a lucky Mummy to have this beautiful boy. Diagnosis just helps us know how to best meet their needs and find supports for us.
You are ONE AMAZING Mom!!! 💓👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤗 God Bless you!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻💙💓💓💓
Oh my your story is similar to my son. All those emotions I felt after hearing the doctor tell me he has ASD, SPD was harder than the ADHD diagnosis. We has improved so much through diet, removing toxins from the home and through brain balance. I am truly grateful to see him no longer struggle with things he used. Before he stuttered and wouldn’t be able to finish a sentence, he would scream when things upset him or scared. He know longer does that and he will give me details about things and talk to family members! Good for you for giving him tools for a better life! My son screamed when he was 2 days old when I put him in the baby swing and after 3 days of trying it I gave up because he screamed when I would turn it on.
sending you love
I have no words to express how grateful I am to you for that video... I'm waiting (for nearly a year now) to have my son assessed, he's 3yo, we know that he has language delay but there are some red flags for asd as well, so I'm grateful to learn as much as i can cuz I'm scared... not knowing what it means for him and quality of his life later is weighing on me :( and you are absolutely right about the family not getting it... sometimes they will brush off my worries and say that for sure all is going to be ok, he's just developing with his own pace, or act like I'm overprotective if I don't want to trick him in staying for sleepover...
Thank you so much for sharing... I had tears in my eyes listening to you, i can so relate...
This is such a tough matter and such a painful and hard mission for parents! Thank you for the info. Greetings from UK 🇬🇧
