this show is even more amazing when you realize the lead singer, Su, just turned 16 the day before and the other 2 were 14. this show was for Su's 16th birthday. Megitsune you watched before was when they were 15 and 13. Babymetal started when they were 12 and 11 years old. Su will be 25 this December and she has been on stage since she was 6 years old. the more you see this group and understand what goes into their shows and everything, you will love them.
They can't always be babymetal though right- when they're not 'babies' anymore? Like the whole concept was cute lolitas singing and dancing to heavy death metal therefore bringing some 'light/cleanliness/innocence' to a 'dark/dirty/grungy' style of music.
@@TheK-PopInPublicAuthority They never were 'babies', that was never the intention behind the name.. It is partly 'baby' as in new.. and it's also a wordplay in Japanese: Heavy Metal = Hebe Metaru / Baby Metal = Bebe Metaru. Or something like that, as I have come to understand things, anyway.. If I'm wrong I'm sure I will be corrected by someone more knowledgeable.. :)
But at the same time, they've got less bonkers and far more refined over the years. "Legend 1997" is my favorite BABYMETAL show because they turned it to eleven!
@@steffenjachnow8176 Metrock 2015 and Legend S come to mind (Legend S would have been even better if we didn't have the euh... issues around Yuimetal and Mikio)
If you want chunky: Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live (fun fact, you have to be invited to play here, Ozzy back in the day played here) If you want to shed a tear possibly: Road of Resistance live (the one with the big big crowd) Others...pa pa ya live, the one live, and they have two new songs that recently came out too
"Is this typically what you see in a Babymetal show?" You ain't seen nothing yet. Babymetal is the best live band of the last ten years. And yes, I know how Rammstein fans react to that statement. Having said that, cryo guns are a rare exception.
I always say it like the Borg in Startrek do: Resistance is futile! Moametal once was asked, why Babymetal is so much loved. Her answer was: I want to know myself. I bet she knows haha...but that answer was so typically Moa.
I have a way of watching every Babymetal concerts n festivals. Trust me, I watch TFO them. Best ones is Tokyo Dome, Wembley, and MakuhariMesse 2020 (Metal Galaxy Tour)
The thing that sets Babymetal live apart from almost any other band is that their lives shows aren't just a concert, they are a full theatrical production. Wait until to see some of the performances from some of their other legendary shows where the production is even more elaborate.
They're usually both. I love the fact that they can afford stadium size concerts but still perform in smaller avenues most of the time for local fans in every country they tour. Makes me appreciate them more as artists.
@@adamazri928 Well, they only do the big shows in Japan or places like London or LA where there are big concentrations of fans. When they go to most other places, the venues and crowds are smaller, so the logistics of the show have to shrink accordingly. I'm sure they'd love to bring their big shows to all the fans, but its just not possible.
More Babymetal... you said you "just witnessed greatness" well hold on because you haven't watched "BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL)" yet. It will be the coolest thing you've ever seen. Then another classic live that blows this performance away too is "BABYMETAL | Rondo of Nightmare (w/ Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro) | LIVE at Budokan Black Night (HQ)" Both performances will blow you away for sure. This was great. Those two are even better.
Subscribed, brother. Because you struck gold with Baby metal. And I for one am stoked to see your journey discovering their awesome catalogue, seeing you don't have any reservations and get the genius of the concept right away. To really blow your top, watch the last song of this concert. Called "Babymetal Death". It challenges your wildest dream, lol!
Welcome back to the Foxhole and BabyMetal Galaxy. I lol when you tried to dance this and doing the "baby-hedoban" which is headbanging side to side. Another great reaction, and just like you saw the party on BM live concerts is wild, especially with this song becoming super fun into something like a cult.👀 In my last comment I forgot to mention that you're arriving to a special time since they've been releasing since a month ago their new singles, 2 already out and 3 more coming next year, along with a live performance and album release, they will come back to this same venue you're just watching, Makuhari Messe is the name of this huge japanese convention center located outside of Tokyo in Chiba Prefecture. Everyone in BM fandom is having a great time with this, so stay tuned for more, don't worry rushing into hear those songs coz they're giving us a new BM side we've never seen before, of course they're already grown up now and with more mature sound. Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! is one of BM fans favorite and got special meaning too. Song is about a 15 years old girl celebrating her birthday going to her first live concert, probably metal, while having melancholy for leaving her childhood behind. Isn't about any of our girls but they embraced this song like it was made for them, you'll find many special versions of this, even when they celebrate their 20th Birthday. 15 is an important coming of age for Japanese girls, 20 is another important date. This was at Legend 1997 (that's the title of this live concert referring to SuMetal birthyear) in 2013 celebrating SuMetal 16th Birthday, and the whole concert was special, if you want to know the rest of the songs finishing this, those are: - "Akatsuki" Unfinished Version, a beautiful SuMetal solo version with only a piano behind, the original song is a power/speed metal balad - "Babymetal Death", be ready for this insane ending, The live concert and also this song got plenty of tributes to the greatest metal bands, like Metallica and X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, the gong at the end is one of those, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore. The official MV is also creepy for some fans, I guess the organ gave that effect, you'll also see the neckbrace there for the first time which is a tribute to Yoshiki from X-Japan. Another thing that you don't see here or so much in their live performance is when YuiMetal and MoaMetal are having fun with cryo or smoke gun is that the choreography on this part with them down on their knees and doing the "dogeza hedoban" which is like bowing down back and forth summoning the metal spirit represented by the neckbrace while SuMetal is standing with the mic rise up and her relentless death stare, that's another moment we called -NotACult- 👀 The Kami Band here are insane set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, "kami" means roughly "god", they're wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint to represent those spiritual entities. They rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarrists). They are: - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. (R.I.P.) - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums tracks. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. You can see at the end (when SuMetal is crawling upstairs) his head got written "Happy Birthday". - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. I would love if you can go with the rest of the songs of this special live concert but if you want another song that ranks high as a favorite you can watch: - _"Ijime Dame Zettai"_ live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 and you can witness a turning point in their career and a different type of live performance unlike this one with big top notch production. BM fans really appreciate when reactors are willing to learn and "study" more of these girls and their stories so much appreciated for taking your time. Keep binging with BM songs and enjoy the ride into the Foxhole. See you next time!🦊🤘🔥
@@EmpReacts That's the way it should be, don't care about anything else but dance.🕺 If you love Just Dance then you're gonna have a blast with these girls almost in every song live performance. Like i said there are more special versions of this song so if you like this don't worry reacting to some of them and get your question answered like Headbanger!! live at Legend M 2019 (MoaMetal 20th Birthday) or live at Legend Metal Galaxy 2020, those are heavily blocked without filters so look for Babymetal Reactor Resource and get the watermarked logo version safe to react for us while you watch the clean version. Love the effects you put on this, GJ with the editing.🦊👍
@@EmpReacts So that's Headbanger "live" done and dusted ? Sorry waiting in wings we have ..HEADBANGYA INTRO NIGHT OF 15 MIX...the full nine minute plus that would even have Ewok Lloyd Womble sobbing into it's paws ..please take time check it out as many reactors miss out as head down the FOXHOLE ...Oh it's also from the legend 97 show !
@@tonypate9174 I would really like to see his reaction to the EDM remix of Babymetal on the Headbanger. But if there is no reaction, then I hope he will watch this version at least for himself. This remix blows up even those who have not seen the Headbanger for the first time in different concert versions. The arrangement and choreography in this remix are crazy
I love how this song is a trip on itself... From a "Wtf is this" to end it in the same way and somehow, then it fits, the Siren sound, the headobang like the song earned your respect
"Babymetal live is wicked" You wanna see how accurate your claim is? Go search live fancam videos of their Feb 2020 show in Apollo (theater) London, specifically when they sang Megitsune. Men, women, young, old, dressed, undressed, all going apeshit. Heck even Babymetal filler songs are absolute bangers. It's like getting murdered through face-licking by three adorable cute puppies.
Yes "Bang a Gong Get It On". Babymetal change up the staging of the shows regularly, but you always get the same levels of performance intensity, crowd participation and general insanity. This concert was in late 2013 and is "Legend 1997", referring to Su-metal's birth year. It was to celebrate her birthday (the bass player has "Happy Birthday written on his head") and the transition of Babymetal from a sub-group of Sakura Gakuin performing to pre-recorded backing tracks to a separate metal act incorporating the Kami Band and able to fill large arenas. They actually started the show with an ironically mimed dubstep/Broadway version of Headbanger called "Night of 15 Mix". Check it out to see BM not taking themselves too seriously. From this show they would go on to tour Europe in 2014 and have international success at 2014 UK Sonisphere and have to increase the size of their venues. Headbanger is a bittersweet coming of age tale of a 15 year old girl taking the subway to a concert and getting lost in the experience and the mosh pit. She realizes that such moments of freedom will be fewer as she becomes an adult and she vows to remember the night. The other two girls. Moa and Yui, have taken the lead on the song to celebrate their own birthdays. Here are some more recommendations. "Headbanger Night of 15 Mix" as an insane alternate universe version of what you just reviewed; "Unfinished Akatsuki" Su sings this solo next in this concert from where she hit the gong. It will show you BM's range and how they can emotionally manipulate an audeince; "Road of Resistance -Live in Japan" because it's just an awesome group performance.
Most common words when reacting to BABYMETAL: phenomenal, epic, performance, stage presence, crowd control, voice and dance. WTF, dude, and bro do not apply. Know what I'm sayin! LOL
Hi, EMP. I really like the f/x you have added to your reaction videos. I'm sure it takes a bit of work to do that extra edit step. I appreciate it and it was a lot of fun.
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 Great song choice. 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!!' was the third song of a five song encore with BABYMETAL's live supporting musicians, the Kami Band. This song was one of BABYMETAL's earliest hits. I was thrilled when they brought it back for the 2019 tour, and I finally got to hear it live at the LA Forum. Even though the song is about a fifteen year old girl attending her first heavy concert, the lead singer was only fourteen when the studio version was recorded. It's not biographical, but it is a song she could relate to. At that age she was on stage, rather than taking the train to see concerts. : ) This is from the Legend "1997" concert, named for lead singer Su-metal's year of birth. She turned 16 the day before this show. Less than two years later, BABYMETAL sold out Tokyo Dome two nights in a row, with 55,000 people per night. This concert is bundled with the Legend "1999" concert on the LIVE~LEGEND 1999&1997 APOCALYPSE DVD and blu-ray. The Legend "1999" show celebrated the birthdays of Yui and Moa, the two younger members.
I love that Blu-ray. Particularly liked hearing the live singing on Gimme Chocolate (i.e. not the MV vocal track) - it's like having a new version of the song. Of all the live shows I think the Legend - S - Baptism XX blu-ray might be my fave tho, just for the opening and closing numbers alone.
YES! The Fox Hole gets deeper! Amazing reaction mate! It's so much fun seeing someone else have so much fun watching Baby Metal! 😄 🦊 If you loved this energy, try PA-PA-YA live!
Welcome to The ONE Empmetal. You're in for quite a ride. May I point you towards CATCH ME IF YOU CAN with the Kami band intro , live at budokan black night. A superb intro to the musicians for you. A very talented bunch . As you progress , Amuse may block a few of you attempts to react to the girls, so but with a site called the Babymetal reactors resource , we can guide you around these obstacles. 2 main eras with Babymetal, 2010 -2018 and 2018- 2021. And now a 3rd era has begun. As you progress you will see how much they've evolved. Have fun. Kitsunes up . 🦊🦊💥🦊🦊
Congratulations; you have officially been 'babymetalled' and there's no going back. I went down the foxhole barely 3 weeks ago never to be seen again. On that anointed day, UA-cam decided that I might like to listen to 'Headbanger' live by some ridiculous sounding fusion of J-pop and metal. Neither of these genres have ever appealed to me, but I gave it a try. An initial minute of wtf?? followed by being blown away 5 minutes later. Babymetal are frickin' awesome, dope.
Just so you know, when people start referring to the girls by name. Su-Meta is the main singer, always has a ponytail. Yuimetal is one of the dancers. She is the one with the chubby babycheeks. MoaMetal is the other dancer. She is the one with the insanely dimples when she smiles. They are the main 3. Yui leaves Babymetal later on due to health reasons. You will find dancers that take her place as a support dancer for Moa. You'll know they are support dancers because they neither have pigtails like Yui or Moa, nor a Ponytail like Su. Their hair has 2 buns where the pigtails would be.
Also, the replacement dancers (referred to as "Avengers") do not have microphones as they do not sing. They are there strictly to balance out the Choreography.
Hey Emp, you look handsome today. Ha ha! It's gonna be a headbanger of a day! A tiny bit of advice...don't blink. You'll miss something. It's been a while to see a reacter this excited, and this hyped about the girls. And yes, we as The One, enjoy that as much as almost being there. Heck, if we all got together at a bar or someplace and someone put a concert on a big screen, we'd all be there jumping and dancing like the crowds at the concert. Okay, not everyone, but I'll bet most will want to. 8-) I think by the time he gets to Road of Resistance Live in Japan, I think his head would explode. Doki Doki Morning was their first song release at the tender age of about 12 (Su-metal) and 11 (Yuimetal and Moametal). Karate should be soon on your list. But as I said yesterday, they're all pretty good. You'll find it hardpressed to find two songs that are alike. Each song is different and will give you a different vibe. At some point, you can read the lyrics. I've been a fan for years, and I still don't know what some of the songs are about. Like you said, if I can groove to it, I just listen to it and enjoy it. Well done, Emp. More please! And watch out for copyright. Japan has no fair use laws, so yeah, anyone using any of their stuff they could claim copyright violation. I think someone already mentioned Babymetal Reactor's channel for videos that have logoed the videos to avoid the copyrights. Check out their channel. Your reactions are too good to not let them be viewed!
@@steffenjachnow8176 I was just meaning that he shouldn't look away too often cause there is lots to miss if he stops watching the video to headbang. Ha ha! And on your unrelated note, that was my very first exposure to Doctor Who, and it creeped me out. But it was really good.
They are just the most AMAZING group to watch live. You really need to see how they started. Find Sakura Gakuin and see how they have started the most amazing life as a group. Check it out. thanks for the reaction
Great! and thank you from Japan 有難う💛。Can you believe that this is the 12th song after 11 exhausting performance (and still 2 more) ? In this video, you heard the crowd shout some words at 08:06. The words are "ki-e-ro 消えろ!" meaning "get out of here!" (addressed to crybabies in the metal concert). This crowd's shout in Japanese occurs wherever BM goes on this planet and whenever Su-Metal turns her mic towards audiences. Of course it did in 2019 US tour (20 gigs) and 2020 Europe tour (17 gigs). Last year 2021, eight years after this video, BM played this song in all of 10 BABYMETAL BUDOKAN Concerts with Su's matured voice and Moa's more agitating moves. I witnessed it 9 times at the venue and was enchanted to headbang 9 times ヽ(^o^)丿
I don't know if I just forgot you went to 9 of the concerts or if you never mentioned how many when I've seen your comments about it before, but WOW! I just want to see them once. I'd probably go insane if I had the chance to see them that many times in such a short span of time! That is like following them on tour, only with the convenience of going to the same place every time. I can only hope they do a US tour next year after they finish up with Sabaton! On a side note, I'm coming to Japan, my friend! To be more specific, I'm bringing a group of students to Japan in April of 2024. Our itinerary is pretty packed, but any suggestions you may have for free time experiences would be most appreciated!
@@mr.osclasses5054 Hi! sorry for late reply. I was unable to use my PC yesterday. I remember you and I communicating for a while about how to order some food with the grocery shop run by Mikio's family. FYI, I have already got tickets to 2-day shows in January, in Super Mosh'sh Pit area that allows audience to see the stage clearly at a short distance ヽ(^o^)丿 . I believe they will come back to US sooner or later. Your country has the biggest fanbase in the world, after all. On the contrary, I think there will be even a chance that BM hold one of the biggest show in their history in US country as they did at The Forum in 2019. You planning to come to Japan in 2024 with your student. Two years later? What a long-range plan! World may change in coming 2 years. But, we may meet you after your students go to bed. At a bar in the hotel you will stay or some other place, if I am alive at the age of 69 then. 😄
By the way this is not the end of the concert, they do 1 more, Babymetal Death. They have this level of crowd control at Metal Festivals worldwide. Su can twirl her finger to create a "Wall of Death".
Welcome to the foxhole. Is every Babymetal show like this? Yes and no. They are super theatrical and charismatic, they go full throttle the whole show. In the US and Europe we tend to have fewer effects as they play smaller stages than Japan, where they play arenas. But they still a killer live act and their energy levels are off the charts. If you ever have a chance to see them do it, they do not disappoint. They are definitely a live act.
They will be playing in large venues around Europe next year in April (and May?) when touring with Sabaton. The one in Sweden has capacity for ~16,000 people and I believe it's our most prestigious venue. I assume the other venues will be of a similar size. They won't be *anything* like the Tokyo Dome, but they will be far bigger than what I've seen from their own previous EU tour.
great to see someone enjoy BM so much - can you believe there are sad souls out there that don't think they're a band even worth catching/enjoying/trying?! You have some fantastic music and videos to discover, sir - keep exploring, dude.
@@EmpReacts I've been following them since 2014. I think I might love them more each year. They (and Band-Maid, another truly grrrreat Japanese band) really helped get me through the Covid lockdowns for sure. Good luck with dealing with any copyright issues - Amuse can be quite a pain in the ass organisation - odd, considering a lot of people discover them through reaction videos - it's like they don't want the business; I'm no expert but I think the trick is lots of pauses, rewind, comment over the music and if you really have to, use a semi transparent overlay [soz if teaching you to suck eggs - I only found you through Babymetal but have subbed, so looking forward to seeing more of your stuff].
We are fortunate watching BabyMetal shows from our chairs. You have to be in excellent physical condition to last through a performance. Non-stop for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Another great reaction, thanks! This is an early live performance, their biggest at the time, actually. They performed in way crazier stage setups later specially on arena size concerts. But they also perform in smaller venues with the same energy. But yeah, their big format is a huge experience. And yes, they are black belt in crowd control, and this is an excellent masterclass! Did you spot a Pikachu among the audience? 🤣 I failed to mention on the previous video my usual vague recommendation: always expect the unexpected and prepare to be surprised. And a particular suggestion: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" live at Sonisphere 2014. Until next time!
Enjoyed that reaction it got my sub as i dont want to miss the rest of your BabyMetal journey Wellcome to the Foxhole 😁 🤘🦊🤘 I would check out Megitsune live or Road of Resistance live in Japan 😁
It's Su's birthday. At the end of the song, as Su is climbing the stairs to hit the gong, the bass player comes into the picture for just a few frames. Stop it there. You can see Happy Birthday written on his bald head
Great reaction!! I love when new people begin to love this awesome band! You NEED to check out "Babymetal Death" from the same concert (Legend 1997): your mind will blow up 🔥🤘 (it's very safe for copyright)
You watched the classic Babymetal (the girls at that time were 14, 16, 14 years old). In the "classic" line-up, with Yui (left the band) and Mikio (a great guitarist, RIP). Wild, musically and aesthetically revolutionary for anyone who sees them for the first time. Consolidate your experience by watching "Road of Resistance", and then you can safely go on a journey through the universe of Babymetal (40+ songs). And please don't watch them without us, no matter how much you'd like to.)
My favorite part is that middle break with Yui and Moa going wild with the smoke machines. The entire hall is pounding with this relentless super heavy chugging, and there's two young girls at the front going "Whee, this is fun!"
If you go to a BabyMetal concert, I think you might pass out in the crowd. An ambulance is needed to take you to the hospital. Because the BabyMetal song is almost like this full of energy. Lol♥️
Great to see another video so fast and I'm loving your energy. Their stage set ups are insane and shows just epic. Another crowd pleaser song to react to would be "Road of Resistance" live in japan. But one of my personal favourite songs would be "Yava" with the Kami band intro. See you next time.
Great reaction. You should try Road of Resistance live in Japan. Its an epic one and probably most viewd. Be prepared to pause often that one can get blocked but at times but you will love that one too.
Babymetal. Band-Maid, Nemophila, Lovebites, Asterism, Ningen Isu...the list of superb and extremely musically talented Japanese Metal and Rock bands (mostly all-female) is astounding. They are making all the best music for the 21st century. 🦊🤘🤘🦊
Great Reaction, Babymetals the best!!!! I would recommend reacting to Raise A Suilen, they’re much more edm rock than metal but they’re still amazing! They’re an all girls band I would recommend a declaration of xxx to start off with!
Great reaction and I love how you throw yourself all in with no reservations! 🤘 The banging of the gong is significant in Babymetal lore as it represents the end of either a chapter if Metal Resistance (the end of a leg of a tour) or some other Special event. In this instance it marked the end of 2 things: 1) The end of BABYMETAL as a sub-unit of the J-Pop Idol Group Sakura Gakuin. 2) The end of the life of ordinary human Suzuka Nakamoto and the beginning of the ascension of Metal Goddess Su-metal (completed during the performance of "Babymetal Death" at Legend 1997, so a must watch). In comments of your Megitsune reaction, I recommended watching the Headbangeeer! Night of 15 Mix for fun and Moabangeeer! For the rare pleasure of seeing and hearing Moametal sing lead on this song. Su-metal once said when listening to Babymetal, "Feel, don't think". I think you have already taken that statement to heart. Kitsune Da-O! 🤘🦊🤘

"Live is the best way to experience X" is the biggest lie in entertainment history. Live IS the best way to experience a song *IF* you already know it. But not for a first time listen. Its often the opposite, you can be at a festival and hear a band and think nothing of it then hear the studio version and be like "oh, this is what it actually sounds like" and the next festival youre at and you KNOW the song, it will be even better. It pretty much NEVER happens the other way around. No one ever goes to a festival, hear a band and go "damn, these guys go hard" then goes home listen to the same song on their album and go "oh... this song suck". Ive been a metalhead for 35 years and that has never happened ONCE it my life to ANYONE I know. The opposite happened so often I lost count before I was 15. These people will point to "the energy of the crowd" and "the complete experience" etc etc which is indeed a factor if 1) youre actually THERE in the crowd or 2) already know the song and your brain automatically fills in the blanks when the song gets distorted by the crowd or aucustics of the venue. But live sound quality is NEVER as good as studio, by default, its literally impossible. And the sound is literally the fundamental core or the entire concept. People who care more about "the feeling" or "the vibe" or "the experience" should not be telling anyone what is "the best way to LISTEN" to anything. They are not fans of music, theyre adrenaline junkies who doesnt care how they get their fix. Which is absolutely fine... but they should declare this and not pretend like this is the best version of a song. Its like recommending someone to watch the recaps of a television series instead of watching the actual series. Yea, its infinitely better to watch the a 1 hour recap before watching season 2 than rewatching the entire season 1 again... but its not better if you *havnt actually seen* season 1. They recommend this to you cuz THEY aldready know what its all about so they want you to skip ahead. This may be well intentioned, they just wnna experience it WITH you. But is actually foolish, selish and short sighted. They can puzzle the peices together in their head and automatically think everyone else can as well even tho they don have all the peices. As crazy and fun as their live shows are, for musical purposes I prefer their studio stuff for first time hearing. Not that they arent good live, theyre fantastic live but sometimes their sound technician fubs the mastering (imo) and the girls voices are almost drowned out by the intrumentals. Also the crowd often ruin the audio. Not blaming them, I would go fakking crazy too if I was there but they sometimes are so many and so loud that its becomes "noise polution". They also tend to have REAAAALLY long audience interactions which is ABSOLUTELY fakking sensational, (again) is youre actually IN the crowd and/or know the song. If you DONT know the song that long departure from the context of the song throws you out of the moment. Not telling you how to run you show, ma'guy. You do you, Im just sayin... You only get one chance at a first impression... what do you want it to be? An impression of their music or of their fans? Its not rocket science. Thats actually only half true. You only get one chance on a first imrpession of the *sound.* You can still get a first impression of the live show even if you already heard the song. AND it would also give you double content for free. Just putting it out there, make what you will out of it.
So far BABYMETAL is 2 for 2 with impressing you. Get used to that. They don't drop any duds in my opinion. BABYMETAL won a few BEST LIVE awards for a reason. Glad you are full own cannonballing down the Fox Hole 🤘🦊🤘
This song is only one of a performance that lasted hour and a half, even the musicians played only half the show live. Still you have much to see (and feel). You don't have idea how this show started and ended: a hint, started like a rave party, ended with a sacrifice 😉🦊🤘!
Su is the Legend of 1997 (her birth year); Yui and Moa are the Legends of 1999 (their birth years). Remember, Su was 16 and Yui and Moa were 14! Kiero!
So this was the third-to-last song at this show (Legend 1997). If you think this was an incredible performance, you should check out the last two songs: Akatsuki (Unfinished ver.) and Babymetal Death. For the former, I recommend the upload on the channel 'Kitsune Sama' if you want subs or the channel 'ferr' if you don't. For the latter, ferr has a good upload of it. Enjoy!
You really need to check one of the songs they released only very recently, 'Divine Attack'. This is part of a brand new album coming next year around march. You will be blown away. A tip, they are technically speaking not a band or group. You need to see this as a show that uses metal to bring their show. This is why it's so flashy in every video you see and their shows. In big venues they will likely do something like this, in small ones you don't. If you really wish to see the best shows however, visit the Tokio Dome. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
this show is even more amazing when you realize the lead singer, Su, just turned 16 the day before and the other 2 were 14. this show was for Su's 16th birthday.
"Is this normal for a Babymetal concert?: yes but they have since done much larger concerts so the best are still to come for you :)
If you want chunky: Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live (fun fact, you have to be invited to play here, Ozzy back in the day played here)
If you want to shed a tear possibly: Road of Resistance live (the one with the big big crowd)
Others...pa pa ya live, the one live, and they have two new songs that recently came out too
"Is this what you normally see at a babymetal show?" ....YES. just yes? lol you're in for a load more if you keep watching them lol
Haha, your reaction was like watching myself when I saw this for the first time🤘🦊
Ahh, the new guy. This one is super good. These little girls got real power.
"Is this typically what you see in a Babymetal show?"
You ain't seen nothing yet.
Captivating performances are one of BABYMETAL's hallmarks. They didn't got several best live-act awards for nothing!
There is nothing like a BM show.. Saw in 2019 and an experience I'll never forget!
Welcome back to the Foxhole and BabyMetal Galaxy.
I lol when you tried to dance this and doing the "baby-hedoban" which is headbanging side to side. Another great reaction, and just like you saw the party on BM live concerts is wild, especially with this song becoming super fun into something like a cult.👀
In my last comment I forgot to mention that you're arriving to a special time since they've been releasing since a month ago their new singles, 2 already out and 3 more coming next year, along with a live performance and album release, they will come back to this same venue you're just watching, Makuhari Messe is the name of this huge japanese convention center located outside of Tokyo in Chiba Prefecture.
This was at Legend 1997 (that's the title of this live concert referring to SuMetal birthyear) in 2013 celebrating SuMetal 16th Birthday, and the whole concert was special, if you want to know the rest of the songs finishing this, those are:
- "Akatsuki" Unfinished Version, a beautiful SuMetal solo version with only a piano behind, the original song is a power/speed metal balad
- "Babymetal Death", be ready for this insane ending,
The live concert and also this song got plenty of tributes to the greatest metal bands, like Metallica and X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, the gong at the end is one of those, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore.
The official MV is also creepy for some fans, I guess the organ gave that effect, you'll also see the neckbrace there for the first time which is a tribute to Yoshiki from X-Japan.
Another thing that you don't see here or so much in their live performance is when YuiMetal and MoaMetal are having fun with cryo or smoke gun is that the choreography on this part with them down on their knees and doing the "dogeza hedoban" which is like bowing down back and forth summoning the metal spirit represented by the neckbrace while SuMetal is standing with the mic rise up and her relentless death stare, that's another moment we called -NotACult- 👀
The Kami Band here are insane set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, "kami" means roughly "god", they're wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint to represent those spiritual entities.
They rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarrists).
They are:
- Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. (R.I.P.)
- Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums tracks.
I would love if you can go with the rest of the songs of this special live concert but if you want another song that ranks high as a favorite you can watch:
- _"Ijime Dame Zettai"_ live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 and you can witness a turning point in their career and a different type of live performance unlike this one with big top notch production.
BM fans really appreciate when reactors are willing to learn and "study" more of these girls and their stories so much appreciated for taking your time.
Keep binging with BM songs and enjoy the ride into the Foxhole.
See you next time!🦊🤘🔥
I'm not a very good dancer (if you couldn't tell lol) I usually just turn my brain off and let the music determine my movements. 🤣
@@EmpReacts That's the way it should be, don't care about anything else but dance.🕺
If you love Just Dance then you're gonna have a blast with these girls almost in every song live performance.
@@tonypate9174
I would really like to see his reaction to the EDM remix of Babymetal on the Headbanger. But if there is no reaction, then I hope he will watch this version at least for himself.
This remix blows up even those who have not seen the Headbanger for the first time in different concert versions. The arrangement and choreography in this remix are crazy
@Emp Reacts i thought it was Patrick Swayze practicing for Dirty Dancing 😁🤘🦊
I love how this song is a trip on itself... From a "Wtf is this" to end it in the same way and somehow, then it fits, the Siren sound, the headobang like the song earned your respect
"Babymetal live is wicked"
You wanna see how accurate your claim is?
"Headbanger Night of 15 Mix" as an insane alternate universe version of what you just reviewed;
"Unfinished Akatsuki" Su sings this solo next in this concert from where she hit the gong. It will show you BM's range and how they can emotionally manipulate an audeince;
"Road of Resistance -Live in Japan" because it's just an awesome group performance.
I never really had a bucket list till I learned of this band… Before I kick it, I need to see BABYMETAL live :-)
I hope you cross that off the list, my friend. :)
There are version of this some where both Moa and Yui take the mic for the second part of the song. They both have beautiful voices in their own way.
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘
Great song choice.
This is from the Legend "1997" concert, named for lead singer Su-metal's year of birth.
If you loved this energy, try PA-PA-YA live!
🦊🦊💥🦊🦊
You know the basics. Now show them what you got at a concert 😂😂😂
ヘドバンギャー良いですよねー👍😆
ベビメタにどんどんハマって下さい🤘🦊
Beware the wild Pikachu in the crowd!
I think by the time he gets to Road of Resistance Live in Japan, I think his head would explode.
LOL... True but unhealthy for the eyes.
Totally unrelated to BABYMETAL but "Don't blink" is one of my favorite episodes of "Doctor Who".
@@steffenjachnow8176 I was just meaning that he shouldn't look away too often cause there is lots to miss if he stops watching the video to headbang. Ha ha! And on your unrelated note, that was my very first exposure to Doctor Who, and it creeped me out. But it was really good.
LIVE BABYMETAL is another level. Enjoy the ride and welcome into the fox hole.
Su can twirl her finger to create a "Wall of Death".
hi EMP, how are you today? I hope you enjoy your journey with BabyMetal, Kitsune Up!!
And also due to the pandemic, the shows had been scaled down due to limited audience capacities.
They will be playing in large venues around Europe next year in April (and May?) when touring with Sabaton. The one in Sweden has capacity for ~16,000 people and I believe it's our most prestigious venue. I assume the other venues will be of a similar size. They won't be *anything* like the Tokyo Dome, but they will be far bigger than what I've seen from their own previous EU tour.
i only say "Rondo of nightmare" ;) he wil lget a heartattack of that xD
nice reaction there
great to see someone enjoy BM so much - can you believe there are sad souls out there that don't think they're a band even worth catching/enjoying/trying?!
You have some fantastic music and videos to discover, sir - keep exploring, dude.
I wasn't sure if it was going to be something I would be interested in but I'm SO glad I dove in. This is incredible!

Have you done Road of Resistance Live from Japan yet? Probably their most iconic performance.
next on the list. :)
I failed to mention on the previous video my usual vague recommendation: always expect the unexpected and prepare to be surprised.
And a particular suggestion: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" live at Sonisphere 2014.

Only in Japan we find a croud like that ...amazing
Very entertaining reaction there and you're on the right track... Deffo the right pic for a second listen... See you!
If you go to a BabyMetal concert, I think you might pass out in the crowd. An ambulance is needed to take you to the hospital. Because the BabyMetal song is almost like this full of energy. Lol♥️
Road of Resistance LIVE in Japan is a good follow up
Great to see another video so fast and I'm loving your energy.

Great reaction and I love how you throw yourself all in with no reservations! 🤘
The banging of the gong is significant in Babymetal lore as it represents the end of either a chapter if Metal Resistance (the end of a leg of a tour) or some other Special event.
In this instance it marked the end of 2 things:
1) The end of BABYMETAL as a sub-unit of the J-Pop Idol Group Sakura Gakuin.

I will not explain these. Some will be obvious and others you will have to discover during your journey through the Foxhole! 😆😁🤘🦊🤘😁😆
Finally, there is "Black Babymetal" which is Yuimetal and Moametal (also known as MoiMoi) rapping over heavy, almost black metal music while Su-metal is preparing for one of her solos.
There are 4 Su-metal solos and 4 Black Babymetal songs, 2 each on the first 2 albums.
BabyMetal is a good time. I'm sure others in the comments have given you recs for videos with crazy crowd interaction. You're going to have so much fun on this journey. XD 🤘🦊🤘
If you really want to hear the band I would suggest Rondo of Nightmare
When they wrote and recorded this song, the lead singer was only 15, and 16 in this concert. Let that sink in

You only get one chance on a first imrpession of the *sound.*
You can still get a first impression of the live show even if you already heard the song.
AND it would also give you double content for free.
Just putting it out there, make what you will out of it.
You should check out their live version of road to redemption, it’s wild. I’m sorry if you already did cover it, I’m new to the channel.
Hello what's the song at the begining please ? Remind me of Alex Norre but i'm not sure
Another awesome reaction can't wait for the reaction to pa pa ya
Yui the dancer steals souls, so your soul can't take it cuz you already lost it. Yui must feed.
And Yui does it just by looking at the camera during the interview.
@@MsDinazavr She is pure goodness wrapped in pure evil. Yui must feed to gain power to fight Godzilla.
So far BABYMETAL is 2 for 2 with impressing you. Get used to that. They don't drop any duds in my opinion. BABYMETAL won a few BEST LIVE awards for a reason. Glad you are full own cannonballing down the Fox Hole 🤘🦊🤘
my suggestion two songs rondo of Rondo of Nightmare Live Budokan Black Night and Road of Resistance Live in Japan official
Baby metal papaya 😎🤘
ua-cam.com/video/tmMocP99QkQ/v-deo.html has the Kami band intro - great live performance

🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Legend !! !!
Was your cat in your Christmas tree.
