- This was a lecture I gave in 2014 at the invitation of the Italian Consulate in Shanghai concerning the evolution of the Latin alphabet. It was part of a larger conference that dealt with romanization. I came across the PowerPoint file, and I decided it to make this video out of it. I hope you enjoy it, and if you are interested in seeing more things like this, please subscribe to my channel. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this well-organized and well-explained lecture! As a linguistic and history nerd myself, I find it all too important for everyone to have such great access to the foundation and development of our modern writing systems!

Hathor came to be the Arabic word for OX and became THORE.
Latin alphabet has Turkic origin. It's originally from central Asia.
Proof?
there is none, even the turkic alphabet originated from egyptian by being a descendant of arabic writing.
Yes. Everything is turkish. The Turks have invented everything on Earth. Most of all nationalistic stupidities.
Luwio-Anatolian (Etruscan) not Turkic. Turks left their Khaganate in Central Asia and entered Anatolian Peninsula many centuries later than Etruscans left it.
