I lost my brother who used to be my best friend 2 years ago to cancer. He was obsessed with Tokyo ghoul. I remember he was so happy to see that this scene was animated in such an amzing way as it’s in the manga combined with this song. Now I listen to this song all by myself without him and I wonder when the time will come to meet him again. Remembering makes alot of sense to me now as the whole Tokyo ghoul story. Rest in peace Hadi. I will meet you again and we’re gonna remember this scene and this song together.
To think that Touka spent 2 years thinking Kaneki died but still being loyal to him and then suddenly seeing him in her cafe is what makes me get goosebumps whenever I see this scene

It should not end here season 1 was masterpiece and tokyo ghoul will always remain in my favourite list all i just want is reboot of this anime with better studio which will try to bring full potential of this anime with being manga accurate. This studio fucked up tokyo ghoul in season 2 after that it can't be helped they rushed season 3 and 4 to just end tokyo ghoul as quick as possible.
It’s so beautiful to see how Kaneki and Touka filled each other’s voids in their hearts. Touka wanted someone who would not leave her, Kaneki wanted someone who would love him unconditionally. Kaneki was the first to show Touka that he cared for her, that moved Touka’s heart. Then he left her... and some time after that he “died”. But she remained faithful in him, she knew he would come back someday and she waited for 2 whole years out of pure love for him. And always in the darkest times of Kaneki’s different phases, Touka was there, reminding him to LIVE. When she made him eat flesh at the beginning and also when she told him she would see him later, before Kaneki’s second fight with Arima. A fight he planned to die for from the start... Even though Kaneki didn’t realize yet that Touka (aside from all the other characters that loved him too) would become his reason to keep on living. Our bonds are what tie us to life. Even the ones we haven’t realized we have or haven’t even created yet. Amidst the tragedy, their love is a story of hope♥️ edit: 1/17/22 - So happy that more people could resonate with this :) Cheers to their happy family ending! Remember to keep moving forward, give a chance to life, even if you have not found a reason to live yet, keep going because you will! Wish you all a happy ending like this! :D

This is such pure goodness, I just can’t express how good this is. I was reading this while watching the video and thinking of the situations that Kaneki and Touka faced, but in the end they will have each other and that is truly important. Finding that person that you would do anything for them is a blessing to have.
After reading the last chapter of the manga, hearing this song makes me cry so much... I'm a little bit sad Tokyo Ghoul ended but it was a great and memorable journey from the start to the end

I liked Haise quite a bit tho. While he may be false and a "lie" in many ways Haise was Kaneki. He was a part of Kaneki that wished he has happy, he built his happy life and despite this happy life being false, Kaneki was given a "father", the Quinx, friends he would have never gained without Haise. It just seems so unfair to Haise to just fade away in the end

I’m glad Kaneki got a happy ending to his story I thought it would end on a bittersweet angst ending but it was actually sweet and moving on how it ended.
@@Alya9673 in the manga the ending is also happy, the only difference is that in chapter 179 they analyze the world in a more complex and detailed way than in the anime where the epilogue didn't even have 5 minutes.
Let's appreciate these small details and symbolism that the guys at Studio Pierrot did for that scene in :re cafe... *They say our pupils dilate when we see someone or something we love, similar to what Haise experienced seeing Touka again for the first time in years... *Then tears came out of Haise's left eye after taking a sip of :re (Anteiku) signature coffee, they say that when you feel sadness and pain, your first tear will come out of your left eye... Maybe this is an allusion to what Kaneki might've felt leaving his folks at Anteiku behind during the Aogiri Arc...
The second one was an accident. The creators meant it to symbolize Kaneki. The left eye was the ghoul eye, and that was the only one that cried because only Kaneki knows Touka.
@@centokiVA Oh shittt. I totally didn't notice that. That's REALLY awesome symbolism. THAT is the kind of shit I'd expect from the manga. Unfortunately for whatever reason :re TOTALLY fucked up shit like this elsewhere. (I think any Tokyo Ghoul manga fan realizes what I'm talking about when I bring up the infamous lack of Haise rubbing his chin when he said: "I'm happy living like this" to Arima. Which is all the more frustrating and baffling when you consider EVEN the REVILED Root A got the chin rubbing part right from the manga.) (to be honest, the anime was pretty decent a lot of the time at adapting important parts of the story, even improving some of it like with Ayato finding out his father's fate at Cochlea, one THE best scenes in the entire series for his character, especially pre :re. It was FAR more to do with condensing the series that pissed me off about it. Sure, it's a shitty adaptation in the long run due to Hide, but at the time that season came out it was still believed Kaneki ate him and that he was dead. But overall I REALLY liked the IDEA of Kaneki joining Aogiri, especially since in :re he essentially took over it and remade it as GOAT. And it makes Hinami joining Aogiri feel a bit more reasonable and plausible since her "big brother" Kaneki was once a high ranking member of Aogiri.) I still love the anime, but season 4 of the anime just felt awful from the little I've watched of it. Over 40 chapters condensed into like 4 or 5 episodes. Which is awful since both season 1, and season 3 covered around 65 ish chapters (or roughly the first half and where both had massive shifts in direction particularly in Kaneki's case.) But both season 2 and 4 were forced for whatever reason to finish an entire manga, Around at least 80 chapters for season 2, and 116 chapters of :re condensed into a measly 12 episodes. It's just awful. A manga as good as Tokyo Ghoul, and Tokyo Ghoul :re deserved FAR better than this shit. The ENTIRE anime is only 48 episodes and covers 325 chapters! A lot of other anime get AT LEAST 2 seasons of 24 or 25. In fact, My Hero Academy has already been renewed for a THIRD 25 episode season bringing its total episode count to a bare minimum of 88 episodes. Well, I say that but I guess it's not TECHNICALLY been confirmed to be a 25 episode season. It COULD end up being shorter like both season 2 and 3 of AoT but going by the trend of the previous two seasons I'm making the assumption here that it stays at 24 or 25 bring it to 87 or 88 episodes. Even just counting the currently released 3 seasons already puts the episode count a fair amount higher than ALL 4 seasons of Tokyo Ghoul at 63 :/ Even a much less popular anime these days like Magi got 50 episodes years ago in 2 seasons of 25 episodes.
Touka and Kaneki's "scene" (You know the one I mean) for some reason didn't feel all that fanservicy (atleast not in the usual way animes do fanservice) It seriously did feel like a beautiful coming together of two characters who've had a beautifully built up relationship. Seeing them get together just made me feel happy for them.
It's not supposed to be fanservice. It's supposed to be the first moment of Kaneki's life in which he feels pure love for someone else on an incredibly deep level.
Remembering" by Yutaka Yamada is a true masterpiece that encapsulates the melancholic essence of Tokyo Ghoul. It’s amazing how some people only know the series because of "Unravel," without realizing the depth of its story. For me, Kaneki represents the internal struggle of an outcast in a world that mirrors our society. His ability to absorb the feelings of others, carrying their pain and conflicts, leads him to abandon his true love-himself. But in the end, it’s your friends who remind you of who you are, even when you feel completely lost.
UA-cam randomly recommended me this video to remind me of that one girl from high school. It's been 5 years since it ended. I remember how many times I watched this AMV. I listened to that music after our "romance" ended, when i realised how big of a mistake I made, but it was too late. I dreamed about once we meet again in years and we fell in love again, but all that dreaming just faded away. I did not even think about her for years now. I wonder what happened to her, how her life's going, but the way it's ended between us stops me from texting her. Maybe it's my ego, I just don't want her to feel like, " oh he came back because he didn't find someone else". I agree. Like every character has a reason why they continuing to fight. They all have their own story of the past. How come that their foundation is anger and hatred, cuz surely all of that has an origin. I like that Tokyo Ghoul was not a one side story, though maybe the main character is Ken Kaneki but Tokyo Ghoul showed us the stories of other characters, and that makes it beautiful. For me Tokyo Ghoul showed us how the cruelty of cycle works.
I disappoited when the rumor about the remake was fake. I just wish that Tokyo Ghoul could be recognized with its awesome story, not an edgy anime. Since, Sui Ishida has a new manga to work for (Choujin X), I guess it should be our modern Tokyo Ghoul when there will be an anime adaptation.

This song seriously makes me wanna cry- cuz I’m tearing up rn- Touka and Kanekis love story is so amazing and when haise saw touka again in the anime the song started playing and legit it’s just so sad and beautiful ♥️♥️♥️ I’m also the saddest person alive because Tokyo ghoul is OVER 😭😭☹️😭😭☹️ But you also realise Touka is the reason Kaneki is still alive. For example, when he's thinking about the people he cares about, Touka is always last showing that when he thinks of her he has to live. Every time I see this song I click on it and this comment just gets longer and longer.
This coffee shop scene hit me so hard that whenever i see this scene i remember the lines kaneki said, my eyes get filled with tears , i feel the same amount of happiness and relief which I felt years ago when I watched it for the first time.

I really love how the scenes in this amv perfectly fit the lyrics, especially the end. It so precisely showed how Touka and Kaneki got close and then were ripped apart from each other, and how in s3 e2 the way they met...... So close yet so far, exactly that "the meeting will not last". Yutaka Yamada no doubt is my favorite composer.

One of the biggest problems I have with Tokyo Ghoul is the fact the Touka just gets shoved to the side for most of the series. Definitely deserved more relevance to the story.
"And then they all died." Would be the ending that would make anyone clutch their hearts with ache too much to bear. As each and every character you have come to love meets not only a gruesome but a wholy unfair end. Glad it didn't go that way.

I liked Haise quite a bit tho. While he may be false and a "lie" in many ways Haise was Kaneki. He was a part of Kaneki that wished he has happy, he built his happy life and despite this happy life being false, Kaneki was given a "father", the Quinx, friends he would have never gained without Haise. It just seems so unfair to Haise to just fade away in the end

Let's appreciate these small details and symbolism that the guys at Studio Pierrot did for that scene in :re cafe...
*They say our pupils dilate when we see someone or something we love, similar to what Haise experienced seeing Touka again for the first time in years...
*Then tears came out of Haise's left eye after taking a sip of :re (Anteiku) signature coffee, they say that when you feel sadness and pain, your first tear will come out of your left eye... Maybe this is an allusion to what Kaneki might've felt leaving his folks at Anteiku behind during the Aogiri Arc...
The second one was an accident. The creators meant it to symbolize Kaneki. The left eye was the ghoul eye, and that was the only one that cried because only Kaneki knows Touka.

@@centokiVA Oh shittt. I totally didn't notice that. That's REALLY awesome symbolism. THAT is the kind of shit I'd expect from the manga. Unfortunately for whatever reason :re TOTALLY fucked up shit like this elsewhere. (I think any Tokyo Ghoul manga fan realizes what I'm talking about when I bring up the infamous lack of Haise rubbing his chin when he said: "I'm happy living like this" to Arima. Which is all the more frustrating and baffling when you consider EVEN the REVILED Root A got the chin rubbing part right from the manga.) (to be honest, the anime was pretty decent a lot of the time at adapting important parts of the story, even improving some of it like with Ayato finding out his father's fate at Cochlea, one THE best scenes in the entire series for his character, especially pre :re. It was FAR more to do with condensing the series that pissed me off about it. Sure, it's a shitty adaptation in the long run due to Hide, but at the time that season came out it was still believed Kaneki ate him and that he was dead. But overall I REALLY liked the IDEA of Kaneki joining Aogiri, especially since in :re he essentially took over it and remade it as GOAT. And it makes Hinami joining Aogiri feel a bit more reasonable and plausible since her "big brother" Kaneki was once a high ranking member of Aogiri.) I still love the anime, but season 4 of the anime just felt awful from the little I've watched of it. Over 40 chapters condensed into like 4 or 5 episodes. Which is awful since both season 1, and season 3 covered around 65 ish chapters (or roughly the first half and where both had massive shifts in direction particularly in Kaneki's case.) But both season 2 and 4 were forced for whatever reason to finish an entire manga, Around at least 80 chapters for season 2, and 116 chapters of :re condensed into a measly 12 episodes. It's just awful. A manga as good as Tokyo Ghoul, and Tokyo Ghoul :re deserved FAR better than this shit. The ENTIRE anime is only 48 episodes and covers 325 chapters! A lot of other anime get AT LEAST 2 seasons of 24 or 25. In fact, My Hero Academy has already been renewed for a THIRD 25 episode season bringing its total episode count to a bare minimum of 88 episodes. Well, I say that but I guess it's not TECHNICALLY been confirmed to be a 25 episode season. It COULD end up being shorter like both season 2 and 3 of AoT but going by the trend of the previous two seasons I'm making the assumption here that it stays at 24 or 25 bring it to 87 or 88 episodes. Even just counting the currently released 3 seasons already puts the episode count a fair amount higher than ALL 4 seasons of Tokyo Ghoul at 63 :/ Even a much less popular anime these days like Magi got 50 episodes years ago in 2 seasons of 25 episodes.

Touka and Kaneki's "scene" (You know the one I mean) for some reason didn't feel all that fanservicy (atleast not in the usual way animes do fanservice) It seriously did feel like a beautiful coming together of two characters who've had a beautifully built up relationship. Seeing them get together just made me feel happy for them.
It's not supposed to be fanservice. It's supposed to be the first moment of Kaneki's life in which he feels pure love for someone else on an incredibly deep level.

UA-cam randomly recommended me this video to remind me of that one girl from high school.
It's been 5 years since it ended. I remember how many times I watched this AMV. I listened to that music after our "romance" ended, when i realised how big of a mistake I made, but it was too late.
I dreamed about once we meet again in years and we fell in love again, but all that dreaming just faded away. I did not even think about her for years now.

I agree. Like every character has a reason why they continuing to fight. They all have their own story of the past. How come that their foundation is anger and hatred, cuz surely all of that has an origin. I like that Tokyo Ghoul was not a one side story, though maybe the main character is Ken Kaneki but Tokyo Ghoul showed us the stories of other characters, and that makes it beautiful. For me Tokyo Ghoul showed us how the cruelty of cycle works.

I disappoited when the rumor about the remake was fake. I just wish that Tokyo Ghoul could be recognized with its awesome story, not an edgy anime. Since, Sui Ishida has a new manga to work for (Choujin X), I guess it should be our modern Tokyo Ghoul when there will be an anime adaptation.

I really love how the scenes in this amv perfectly fit the lyrics, especially the end. It so precisely showed how Touka and Kaneki got close and then were ripped apart from each other, and how in s3 e2 the way they met...... So close yet so far, exactly that "the meeting will not last". Yutaka Yamada no doubt is my favorite composer.

One of the biggest problems I have with Tokyo Ghoul is the fact the Touka just gets shoved to the side for most of the series. Definitely deserved more relevance to the story.
