@e.t Yeah, Trigger made an excellent show, you can really feel their style in it and their over-the-top-ness was really fitting for Cyberpunk's world.
Or maybe they're talking about CD Projekt Red, which did have some problems in how they handled the game...

I think the reason this shit hits so hard is a really simple thing, even in a setting like Cyberpunk, this story was *really* grounded in reality. It wasn’t a happy go lucky good guy wins at the end of the day, in fact there ARENT any good guys, and that’s what grounds it so well too. It’s less of a fantasy simulation and more of a human story. The fact that David doesn’t survive, and everything falls apart, is real. Life doesn’t always go your way. And more often than not the “good” people will die while the more evil seeming people win. This story was more of a view into what seemed like actual lives than just a view into a world with fantastical characters and properties. Again, this shit felt *real* and I love it for that.

that’s what cyberpunk is abt, it’s the same exact world we live in, but with cool future cyberpunk aesthetic
my gf really wanted me to watch this show, and i was hooked from the first episode. i felt like it was written by a person/people that have a background in "the hood". the characters were all believable. The moment the gang pops up and finds out maria is dead, i instantly said "well hes in, now" because of their reactions and change of demeanor. my gf thought they were even angrier. im like nah theyre teasing him, they respect his mom. sure enough yep they told him hes in. it only got better (r.i.p. my heart) from there, it was a great ride.

@@Wargulf2838 the impact is harder when you played it from the beginning and realized that while you were chasing V's story, this one was playing right along side it. Really sends you home with the reality of what Night City is. Night City is the graveyard of happy endings.
Edit: well, maybe not right along side but close to. Edgerunners ends in 2076.

Two facts that will probably make you cry even more:
1. Lucy said cyberpunks will be remembered by how they die instead of how they live, so she doesn't want David to become a cyberpunk.
However, in the end Lucy remembers David by how he lived not how he died, even though David became a cyberpunk after all.
2. Doc said after using up all the strengthened meds he gave David, no matter how special David was he is bound to lose himself.
However, even after using all the meds, Lucy managed to help David remain himself by kissing him. Lucy was David's last dose of medicine.
The Jedi council likes these facts besides the fact Master Plo Koon is now crying
I think on #2, the creator of the Cyberpunk tabletop series said love is the best prevention to going cyberpsycho.

Sometimes netflix hits a goldmine, this series is a masterpiece.
They've been hitting some gold mines I think, Arcane, this and that new house of dragons(Mistaken for it being Netflix) series has been pretty amazing, and then the upcoming Pinocchio film which is very likely to be a successful one
Trigger only makes masterpieces
Probably because Netflix had very little if anything at all to do with the production of this anime. By the time CDPR and Trigger went looking for a publisher, they already had everything important set in stone, so the only thing Netflix handled was the marketing, distribution and maybe some of the subs/dubs.

That line and the others specially for David's mom. It's so sad, but I'm glad Lucy seems to be alive in the present Cyberpunk universe.
There are very few songs that hit me with high levels of pain, this is one of them. It still hurts.
This show was a gem for a lot of different reasons. But, I feel it pulls the heart strings so hard because of how human it is at the end of the day. Seeing how close yet so far the gang was from achieving what they wanted. Even the moments where they would've been fine if they just quit and left things as they were. Unfortunately, even in the future, humans are humans, so we're destined to fail by our own hand. Evem though I wish the show was twice as long, the fact it ended so abruptly makes all the sense in the world based off the story trajectory.
This song is just a perfect remimder of it. Sounding both hopeful and melancholic simultaneously.

My longest best friend and first love told me this was our show. He told me I was the Lucy to his David. Promised me the world and at that time, we were only just friends. Our relationship romantically had been pushed to the past but our friendship remained strong.
He left me. Abandoned me behind without a single goodbye. Forever will I come back here, sitting on the moon, wishing one day he’d join me again.
not a single anime has ever touched me the way this one did. and this song always makes me think of someone special who is always so close, yet so far. revisiting it always feels like im revisiting a very sweet memory.

It feels that way at first. But after the hurt the way I think about it; you realize that David gave his life purpose by living it to the utmost for Lucy and her peace. Most of the people in Night City are just trying to keep going, staying ahead of the rat race. But many just end up dying like David's mother, and thus cut short from ever realizing their potential. Then so many more just don't care to find a dream to strive for and just strap their loins in for a brain-dance even out in public. You see some of those folk out in daylight as David walks to school... He found something he wanted to live for, and did everything in his power to bring it into reality. So many of us today would consider ourselves lucky to find a dream that fills us with so much determination as to give the middle finger to death itself.

The gripping for the hand behind her back reminds me of my ex. We were together from 13 to 26 and she was taken by a drunk driver. She used to do that when she was uncomfortable in certain social situations and that was her way of saying she needed support. I miss her every single day

I really liked David in part one of the show and felt that the character became much less interesting during the second half. I was watching it with my boy who had seen it already and we talked about that after we were finished. He helped me realize that it wasn't that David became a less interesting character, I just no longer saw myself reflected in him anymore. I really identified with his personality when he was smaller, and his transformation reflected everything I personally didn't want to become. Realizing that really put a lot of my own shit into perspective and made me rethink certain aspects of my life, but also reinforced the values that I hold dear to my heart. Watching this reminded me how much his transformation hurt for me to see. Goated anime.

It's been a year I've seen this masterpiece(I played the game before the anime) and i just rewatched this with my brother 2 says ago...man it got me again, i just cried again even tho i knew what was about to happen, i even cried more
If you've beaten the game then it's even more cooler and it will be more enjoyable to watch, you know all the soundtracks and the places in the anime like you've been there before
