“If i lose it all” - I love the reference to "Rumbling". It's Art. The Rumbling is from Eren's point of view while Under the Tree is from Mikasa's. Those songs are as important to the story as all the other things. 🔥 🔥 🔥
The ending song of 1st season and the final season is all connected and male singer for Mikasa's perspective in first ending and for eren's perspective for akuma no ko, the singer was female
Under the tree is both Mikasa and Armin. See that when it's Mikasa pov the scenes show more of her and the lyrics are red but then they turn yellow and show more scenes with Armin. And the lyrics are literally what Armin says to Eren in the end of the manga. This song is really beautiful

That love story seemed awfully contrived, let's be honest. Eren felt annoyed throughout years by Mikasa's overbearing protectiveness and then, all of a sudden, he's madly in love with this big sis/motherly figure? Nah.

I really don't understand why this extended song wasn't in the finale of AoT's final season.
It's sad, this song never got much attention and it'll probably be slowly forgotten now that they've made a new OP and ED for the episodic format.

cause this song focuses on Eren and Mikasa's feelings with the rumbling aside from the under the tree part. The new ending is focusing on the future after(not sure though haven't seen the lyrics, but makes sense given what we see)

Every film score is done in such a way. It's actually more relatively knew for anime to do "soundtrack" that is actually made for the series or film.

The Rumbling and Under the Tree are both such beautiful songs that perfectly encapsulate the characters and motivations of Eren and Mikasa respectively. Now for the finale, all I pray for is that we get a third song to round it all off that focuses on Armin

As eren is sacrificing the world for his perception of freedom, this opening kind of says that mikasa will sacrifice everyone for eren. As freedom isnt the common theme here, the delusions portrayed by each of the characters are. That mikasa and eren will do the exact same thing for different goals, where eren will do it to save mikasa and the others, but mikasa will do it to save eren.

Most of what we hear from this ED is unique from Mikasa's perspective, but the brief inclusion of chaos/insanity from Eren's perspective matches what we heard in "The Rumbling" OP. Now if the whole thing was screaming from Eren's perspective, that wouldn't work, but that's not what we got.
I'm expecting something somber and maybe slow for the last episode.

He wanted this and during it he was satisfied. but, at the same time he was terrified of the monster he was going to become and that's why he broke down in front of Ravi.

i'm pretty sure this "full version" is for the final part. part 2 and part 3 are basically 6 episodes total, so getting two openings is a bit much.
If Isayama had a brain he would have closed the plot with the story Hero Reiner, but he forgot about the characters for whatever he went at the end.

Damn extended version sounds even better. The new lyrics also kind of feel like they are a mix of Mikasa, Armin and Eren's thoughts which makes a lot of sense. This is basically all of their song at this point, reflecting Eren's rage, Mikasa's sorrow and Armin's optimism.
Saw this after the final part. Jesus, that was such an amazing anime. Eren still deserved so much better. Eren the real hero

The SiM band officially confirmed that this is Mikasa's song, while The Rumbling is Eren's song. The reason why the two songs share the lyric "if i lose it all" is because, despite the distance between them, Eren and Mikasa are always connected.
Our story of Eren and Mikasa is nearing its end. I still believe there couldn't have been a better group than SiM- as it really feels like SiM and Attack on Titan go hand in hand. Especially after hearing the full version of the Rumbling, I was really hoping there would be a full version of Under the Tree as well, and here it is! I would like to thank everyone that has helped produce Attack on Titan- the producers, the manga author, the animators, Mappa studio and WIT studio, the directors, the soundtrack creators like Sawano and Yamamoto and the many others that go unnamed. The past 10 years has been amazing. I'm grateful to be able to watch this amazing anime end with you all. Let's dedicate our hearts one last time.
