Hope you had a happy birthday! I glad to see more about this animal. I saw the skull of Anachlysictis last year here in Colombia, and we are awaiting for the further description of the fossils of its body!
🎉🎉🎉🎉 Belated Happy Birthday Sir Requesting a video Sir about the possibility of giant Carcharodontosaurids such as Giganotosaurus, Mapusaurus and Carcharodontosaurus being super predators.
Thanks for sharing your research! I’m a retired veterinary technician, so carnivores have always been a special interest. Seems a lot of weird paleontology theories have been put out there recently. First Smilodon needing bulldog lips to protect the sabers from drying out, then Thylacosmilus sucking guts from its prey and ignoring the meat. Even if physically possible it sounds like an inefficient way for these animals to live. Would love to hear your take on that.
Hi, and thanks! And you are so right, there are some really bizarre interpretations out there! And you're in luck re-Thylacosmilus, my next episode will deal with this incredible beast. I'm working on it now, should have it uploaded within the next few days.
The manatee is Potamosiren. Anachlysictis lived in an ecosystem formed by tropical forests and great water bodies that included the massive Pebas lake, in the center of South America, since that many animals were preserved near to river/lagoon sediments surely some of them fall into the water regularly!
@@RealPaleontology Btw I'm still waiting for the table of the bite forces of the 150 species from your "Find out the winners and the losers in the Big Bite All-time Championship League" video professor. I've commented my mail address there as well.

a video on proborhyaena would be cool, seems to be an animal that isnt talked about as often as it should be and not much stuff on its ecology is easily found
Happy birthday to you Professor 🎉

No worries, they're on the list.
Really look forward to Thylacosmilus. Love the thylacoleo behind you on the wall.
I'm looking forward to working on it! And yep, I think it's the best reconstruction out there. It was built around a real cast of the marsupial lion.
Cool channel
Thanks for that I'll keep trying

I can't help but wonder what the backstory of the manatee image is. Did the little sabertooth fall out of a tree over a lagoon or something??
Yes got to admit it's got me thinking too!

@@julianbayona3866 thanks so much for clearing that up! Much appreciated!
That name's horrendous! Doesn't really roll off the tongue.
No it's a tough one!

Not sure why but I can't see your email address. If you give it to me here I'll send you the paper.

Yes I will definitely get around to that one
Hey Steve did these cats have a narrowed gate ? They seem thinner in the head and mouth !
They definitely do have more narrow skulls, but remember, they are not actually cats. Much more closely related to marsupials.
