Got some lessons from Josh during a really rough period of my life, The dude is amazing as a teacher and as a friend Wish him nothing but the success definitely deserves it
This is the progressive stuff I've been looking for. No oversaturated tones, no whammy bar slaps, no excessive tapping with harmonics. Pure musicianship, and clean tones.
Holdsworth may not have known whom grabbed the torch he passed off in his final moment... But, everyone here has finally discovered. He's one to watch for sure. Only the beginning.
Josh is one of the greats of a new generation of Jazz Masters. He has obviously been deeply influenced by Pat Metheny. He could not have chosen a better influence (although there are many others I hear), but Josh is not merely an immitator but somone who has taken the music in a direction that is uniquely his own. Kudos to Josh's father who introduced him to the greats which played no small role in Josh's development to become the master he is today.
Lovely composition ! Besides all the awesomeness of Josh, i really love his "beginning of 20th century french composer " flavor that sticks out sometimes. A certain musicality that makes him stand out in my heart among those killer young guitarists. I love Jonathan Kreisberg for the same reason as well, but Josh is really already out of the solar system. And such humbleness and kindness ... really moving guy.
An absolutely great mix of speed and technicality with clear melodic ideas. People mention Holdsworth often, but the player I needed to mention when I heard this song was Pat Martino. If anyone reading this comment has not listened to "Joyous Lake", you are in for a wonderful fusion treat. Can't wait for the rest of this album!
Holy shit, this is beautiful, this makes me so excited for the album! Definitely something that has been long awaited. Hopefully Violet makes an appearance there too?
Your playing reminds me of Sarp Maden, a very accomplished Turkish jazz player. He was influenced by Allan Holdsworth, which might be among your influences as well.
Josh is an absolute beast. The fact that he covered the Lingus solo perfectly just blows me away. Great to hear his own album coming out, can't wait to buy a copy.
The push and the pull of the whole tune! ❤️😎 Just when you think it's in one place for a moment it moves on! Tempos, keys, phrasings, it evolves and keeps me engaged! Thanks for this!!
I was blown away first time I heard Josh……so good! I wish I could have heard this great composition with just pure music coming from each musician without the far out voices in the background. It got in the way of your great talent!! Looking for the next one anxiously! ❤
Really glad to know you're working on originals. Sounds great and will return. Wish you all the best. I discovered the real Michael Brecker through his solo transcription playthrough of yours. Nice job on growing that hair !
Such brilliance, Josh! So intricate and specific but simultaneously refreshingly airy, guttural and in moment. Your chops are humbling, but not only for how blazing they are, but for how they serve the music entirely. This is a new sound and bar!
What a beautiful track. It’s so wonderful that you’ve found some accompanying musos of your caliber. It’s a very nice mix and as always your guitar is so crystal clear with a beautiful tone. Love the melodies especially at the beginning. Can’t wait to see this trio in action!
Wow what a journey. So good. I expected nothing less. Its awesome to finally see you with a group!! Cant wait to see what comes next and future shows. 🤘🏻❤
When does a novelty become a prize exhibit? When does Michael Jackson sign a fan's hand with his autograph? When does music take you away to a special place where talent is second nature and Mother Nature shows her hand? When does a recording turn into a live performance where drinks are served? When does a trio need to become a quartet? When it gets a bass player.
Super clean playing, great visuals, great mixing and that synthy voice from the beggining is so good Also de tension-resolution with those voicings from sec 13-17 is soooo satisfying Definetly subing, I'm looking forward to learn something from you as a guitarist

ok not to dog on u but maybe progressive isnt quite what youre looking for? more mathy/fusion?
Check out the 70s Australian band Crossfire. You won’t be disappointed
@@jwlsiee 🧂🥫🫕🥣
I think you mean the Jazz you were looking for lol. Josh's tone is pure gold
Mann this is some serious fire. It's like Kurt Rosenwinkel meets Animals as Leaders.
Ha. I was always thinking Julian Lage or Guthrie Govan meets The Physics House Band.
@@Vincent_Upstate No Govan here!

holdsworth was doing this stuff 40 years ago
Wild stuff. Who else wants to see a Josh Meader + Matteo Mancuso Collab 😁?
this needs to happen
I would add Daniele Gottardo in the mix that would be a modern-day day jazz fusion night to remember.
Sounds great. I'd also vote for a duet with James Muller.
I'm so excited for Joshua's album
Excellent idea; another would be a collaboration with Ben Eunson and either Josh or Matteo, or all three!
UPLOAD THIS ON SPOTIFY IMMEDIATELY !!!
Please tell me that there is a full album coming soon. Can't wait

That progression was hell of a ride
His right hand technique is absolutely amazing
Had no idea who Joshua Maeder is and don't know how the youtube algorithm knew I would love this, but I'm so glad I found it! ❤🔥👏
Getting back to this gem constantly. Greetings from Poland!
This is absolutely wonderful - a musical breath of fresh air 🎸🎹🥁🌠

1:08 insane beauty…
There aren’t many songs that I love right away. This is most definitely one of them. Incredible
Need a Josh x Sungazer collab.
That would be awesome
This reminds me of Pat Metheny Group. Soooo good
Oh I was waiting for this one. What a way to return.
the exorbitant level of musical thought and unattainable performing skills.
More of these please, keep em coming!
Man, I cannot wait for your album. Extremely excited.
YES

Holding the world together with good jazz
Beautiful song my friend! You are such a talented soul! Hope the universe always rewards you!
5.40 minutes of pure delighting today is the least I ask for :) 🙏

Holy shit, this is beautiful, this makes me so excited for the album! Definitely something that has been long awaited. Hopefully Violet makes an appearance there too?
Oh yes Violet pls!!
This is the guitar player you can actually listen to 😮
OMG Matt Thomson basslines WFT!
This is so incredible. Please go on tour.
Keep coming back this too damn clean
Very cool!! The bass could be a bit more prominent in the mix though. I don't have shit headphones and I can barely hear it sometimes
Yeah, I'm listening on studio monitors and can barely hear it. Not sure what happened.
Woah nice version of thé song man . Cool phrasing
insane!
Great playing, very refreshing. Respect and love from Istanbul.

Josh Meader and Matteo Mancuso are most talented and creative guitarist at 2020s.
Amazing.
Greetings from Chillan, Chile.
Long live your career!
That's some God-given, well honed talent. Beautiful!
Perfect, thank you!

So much energy ! Perfect balance of musicianship, virtuosity and a condensed musical trip through composition. So glad to have found this 🔥

this is absolutley beatiiful and I would love to be right on guessing that is a continuation track, as it starts so abruptly but atmospherically
