ehh maybe from 2018. plini now isnt that exciting live. the last time i went to seem him was a fking bore fest. nothing against him i love all his work but just the setlists now arent what they used to be
Plini's studio recordings are so crisp, natural with excellent dynamic range. As is this live recording. I wish more heavy/prog/whatever artists would take note of Plini's level of audio quality and make better recordings that aren't compressed to hell.
Plini brought himself his own sound engineer over most of his self-billed tour like this, Ronnie Young has been working behind the mixing board for a while now. To be fair, not everyone can afford and keep the same ideal sound engineer all the time. It's a professional job on its own and it could potentially cost a lot depending on your preference of audio standard. Plus, many sound engineers prefer to work with various artists and bands, or under the obligation of meeting the market demands. Therefore, logistics absolutely need to be taken into account. Last but not the least, most specific occasions such as music festival and televised or online broadcasted live session tend to refuse to accommodate a third party engineer unless when it's allowed e.g. KEXP.
Yeah man, thats the pure joy of instrumental talents like Plini, Sithu Aye, Andy McKee or many of the others. If you get to see them live, its a blisfully serene experience because you get exactly what you expected.
Love this, man. I'd happily pay for a live DVD. It's so cool to see this stuff played live as someone who doesn't get a chance to see Plini at a venue.
Watched you guys yesterday in Dresden for the first time and it was so incredible! What an amazing band, what amazing music! Goes straight into my heart
I found halcyon by accident ages ago, first thing I bought on bandcamp for probably a few dollars. Incredible progression. Makes me think about Gru - Cosmogenesis, found around the same time.
It's been a long time since I was inspired by an artist like you. I just recently discovered "Every Piece Matters".....it is truly one of the most emotionally gratifying pieces to take in. Thank you for such incredible music that I needed more than I knew.
was a blast seeing you in melbourne! shame a couple of people took advantage of everyone else going to the sides so they could get to front of stage tho
It was so strange too! Almost as if they had some sort of inside joke that they never let us in on or a social experiment that didn't work out or something, because there isn't even a really obvious point in this song for a wall of death to happen either. Although personally I won't complain too much - my vantage point in the crowd somehow ended up being infinitely better AFTER everyone got shuffled around by that lmao
I was there that night too and was surprised to see that they left that bit on the front there. It was kind of odd and the audience was pretty baffled but we went along with it thinking something might happen...then it didn't. People around me were a bit annoyed they had lost their spots and it put a strange vibe to the gig for the first 5-6 songs. Plini even mentioned we were quiet compared to when Sungazer were on and I think people were a bit confused. I still enjoyed the gig and they were amazing as usual, plus the awesome music from the previous players was great to see.
Don’t know what the weird intro was about, but Plini is amazing live. Saw them in Philly. The mix was amazing, in contrast to the other similar bands I’ve seen recently.
Plini provides the perfect music to speedrun SM64 to imo. Nothing like hearing Ember harmonize with Mario saying "Wahoo! Wahoo! Wah-wa-wa-wawawawawa" as you backwards-long-jump through a door :D
Insanely crispy recording wow. Edit: as a matter of fact don't even bother with the stuido albums anymore. The tone the recroding the playing is all to good to be confined to a studio.
We need Plini Live Album
there is a live EP
@xeyon Wait.. Is it?

@@JustinDiazJokes Ye i still remember handmade cities. That was fire but not anymore.
As the guy that designed that VHS effect AND a huge Plini fan, I am happy to see this.

simons live tone is always fantastic
i don't even know which one simon is but yes. Every one is unbelievably tasty
Bassist and principal audio engineer. He's a bassist's bassist. Tremendously talented.
@@markipelagogogo their live sessions' tones and recording are unparalleled.
I remember literally bursting into tears when i realised that epic climax is a Salt+Charcoal motif. Beautiful and mind blowing as always
It's simply too good.
"They're trying to make it look fake!!"
Top 10 videos that our REAL BUT LOOK FAKE
It is right? I think I'll call the police
Gotta love bands that sound as good live as they do in the studio. A dying breed to be honest.

was awestruck seeing plini live - hilarious how he asked for no cheering but only calm, polite applause after songs 😅
You know to say Plini is a great guitarist and musician is an understatement. This man makes music that inspires me and for that I am grateful.
They sound so phenomenal live. I will always see them when I can. Just got tix for the Animals as Leaders w/ Plini tour this fall!
The way Chris is able to take odd time signatures and make them feel like a groove is a really rare and crucial ability.
Agreed
Hearing this song live last November was amazing! Second time catching Plini. I will drop everything to see you guys again when touring the US ❤️🔥.
Got to see them in May and again in November of last year. What a treat. Just does my soul good.
@@markipelagogogo I feel the same way! Saw them in May&Nov also
plini's s/god-tier live performance of ember with a dash of dire dire docks... fucking perfection.
The callback to Salt + Charcoal does me in every single time. I love this band so much.
Love you Plini. Saludos from Celaya México ❤
Grateful to have seen you in Detroit. Come back soon. The ember burns. The spark will not go out.
Great video, awesome track. That Strandberg just sounds so clean. Cant wait to see you guys in Copenhagen again, truly a highlight of the year
Love this, man. I'd happily pay for a live DVD. It's so cool to see this stuff played live as someone who doesn't get a chance to see Plini at a venue.
Don't think we didn't notice 'Dire Dire Docks' at the beginning
Your music has legitimately been life changing dude
Love you Plini! Greetings from Montreal!

halcyon has come far
I found the Halcyon project well after his recent work, but man I'm glad I listened to it

Hi, I've already experienced PLINI live and I have to say, the guys are one of the hottest modern groove bands ever for me. 🙏🙏🙏
Simon is such a talented musician!
You are the man!!
From Japan

Was there. Amazing quality live gig
Horns up! 🤘
Plini. Porfavor vengan a Argentina!
my god it sounds so good
Super cool! I'm looking forward to seeing you live soon
I saw these guys about a month ago playing before Polyphia and honestly I enjoyed Plini's performance a lot more than the main act
Such cleanliness and precision.
Makes me cry its so good

I was there too. Union Transfer. They were fantastic, it was a great opportunity to hear Strawberry Girls live too.
too good man!
Immaculate playing and sound!
Love this!
This was a great tour

I was at the Brisbane show for this tour, it was an amazing set!
Thank you sir
Great!
sick! it sounds amazing
POWER LEVEL OF 9000
One of their best🔥🔥
Insanely insync… so powerful
Asking a Plini audience to do a wall of death is surely something you can do.
Especially for this song which doesn't get heavy till late in the song. And even then is still fairly mild.
Yeah, a bunch of guitar nerds smashing into each other doesn't sound like a good time
Coisa linda demais 😊
quality rhythm❤❤
*fire*
This sounds identical to the album. Plini ROCKS 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Big Plinis strikes again
🤍 Pure excellence
Thank you Instagram for randomly showing me this..❤
How does no one ever miss a single note

If Chris Allison says you better DO IT
The mario water level music lol.
How does Chris come up with these new parts? Sublime.
molto molto bene
"unstoppable" by Lianne LaHava playing in the background

When is Plini covering Dire Dire Docks though?
I don’t think plini fans are as metal as you think.
wonder how the wall of death went : )
