To be honest it's proven to be very temperamental so I'm not really recommending using it - at least not until they roll out an update (which I doubt we'll see until the next major OS upgrade around September)
There is a bug in OBS Studio 29.1.3, as this technique only works with the small window but as soon as you switch to large window the video feed disappears and then you cannot even switch to the small one unless you quit OBS. I have tested this again and again on my MacBook Air M2 with built in as well external cams and the large window option doesn't work at all with OBS. It does work with Zoom
Hi - I was using the latest version of OBS (at the time of recording) and didn't find that issue. I don't have access to my Macbook at the moment and it may be that I was working with a version newer than 1.3. Thanks for mentioning it though for those who have been struggling to get it to work.
On OBS 30.0 & will not show cam for the life of me. 😢 I can’t get the first part to work.. meaning the FaceTime camera never magically pops up as it does in your video. I was able to change FaceTime to my usb captured (external) camera, but again nothing ever magically shows up using Presenter overlay. You either forgot to share a missing step, or something is broken in the new OBS?
Do we need whatever camo camera is that shows up during your demo? I can’t get any camera overly to pop up on the OBS overlay menu display. It won’t work with camlink 4k alone.. even if you switch FaceTime to camlink. I’ll try adding the Camo studio as I think that might be what makes camera actually show up.
I think we cant customize it, can we? I mean making the desktop or myself bigger or smaller etc

@@rokk 29.1.3 is the latest version. Even worse, 30.0 release candidate still has the bug, unfortunately.
I like that little circle option on the camera where you're outside of it... Reminds me of the MGM lion and Looney Toons 🤣
Yes, exactly what I was thinking. I'd like to use that effect when tutoring kids

Hi - yes I beli ve there is an issue with OBS unfortunately. I can get the effects to work for a couple frames then the image freezes. :(
I like that it's built in. Probably better optimised and means more people will give it a go. Windows should do something similar.

You shouldn’t need to - I use camlink4. That said as others have pointed out they did seem to be a bug with OBS
"No additional software" - Requires OBS. Am I missing a way of doing this without OBS???
