One of the many things that makes this video so helpful is how you move back and forth between Mac and iPadOS to show us how the same thing is done on both devices. Thank you for doing it that way.
At first I had a hard time working out what the point of this application is but now I can see it can be incredibly useful. Thank you very much for opening my eyes to Freeform's potential usefulness.
Thank you very much for the education. As an instructor for a university class, I appreciate your last subject regarding the sync use of freeform between a device that is connected to a projector and an IPad. Extremely useful.
I recently discovered Freeform on my iPhone and decided to give it a try. Although some options may not be available on the iPhone version, I found this video tutorial to be very helpful.
As I mentioned in other videos I am binge watching - what a library of information you have. You tach so much so quickly - thank goodness for pause and replay. I wouldn't want you to change anything you do I am impressed by the depth and level of knowledge and ability to explain in layman terms.
I haven't had a chance to test it extensively, but the Free Form app synchronizes faster (almost real-time) across devices than, for example, the Notes app. Is this true, or is it just wishful thinking? If so, it would be useful for the scenario you mentioned at the end of your video and for quickly drawing diagrams on an iPad during a Zoom/Teams/Google call while connected to the call on the Mac.
Love your channel, as a new apple user (long Android user), I have learn so much. Freeform is a great app, the possibilities we can do and it comes free with an apple device.
As usual Gary; your educational video is the most thorough with subtle details about Freeform, and your presentation makes it easy to follow and understand.
Nicely done, thanks! I wonder how long it will take to get some functionality for floor plans and similar layouts. Not a full CAD setup necessarily, but with some basic dimensional and object-joining features that DIY’ers could use without installing expensive or questionable software. That would be cool.
Thank you for your video, Gary! I cannot find the board I created on my Mac on my other devices. The freeform app is toggled on all devices. The board I created on my iPad is showing on my laptop but not the other way around. Any suggestions? Thanks!
I am able to change the color and transparency of objects on my iPad. If I hold control when I select the object and a task bar appears beside the dropdown full menu. On the far left of the bar is a color dot. When I click that, a full color select window appears with an opacity slider.
It would be interesting to have a summary of the differences in the features between Freeform versus Pages or Keynote - each of which has drawing capabilities.
This is a great video Gary! An interesting point to make is that many of the features in Freeform are also available in Pages, Keynote and especially Numbers, which provides and infinite canvas and, of course, gives you the ability to have full featured tables. Virtually everything you pointed out in this video applies to the other apps!
Another fantastic video with excellent distributions and visuals! Is there any way to create a folder on the left hand side to group related boards Please? Thank you!
I’m having a lot of lagging and I think it’s because I have too many points. Is there like a flatten or grouping function like there is in Photoshop so that it’s not too much of the RAM being utilized to hold all those points independently? I’m on iPad Pro.

I can't find any way to change the orientation of the canvas on the mac... Can you think of any way around this?
