Just one of these tips is worth a single video. Gary is an absolute star and so very generous. In large part also the inspiration for me to switch from Windows to Apple.
This is a great video Gary! An interesting point to make is that many of the features in Freeform are also available in Pages, Keynote and especially Numbers, which provides and infinite canvas and, of course, gives you the ability to have full featured tables. Virtually everything you pointed out in this video applies to the other apps!
Freeform needs a whole course!
As always you rock!!! I get the feeling that the more you use Freeform the more you will find you can do with it. I use Keynote and can already imagine how much better I will be able to make my presentations. Thanks again.🙂
Hey Gary: You teach more ideas in 15 minutes that many hours-long seminars I have attended. And of course with pause and replay, anyone in your audience can let it all sink in. Thanks again.
I agree, I just wish he would reduce the frequency of videos, as i would like to watch every one but they come in so quick I end up missing them for several weeks. Simply information overload.
What a piss poor effort by Apple! This App is not yet half finished. I am really surprised Apple would release such a product. Shapes does not “straighten automatically”, difficult to type. Hard to take notes with pencil. Maybe they will approve it next year. This is a piece of sh*t right now
I play it back at 75% to keep up. It sounds more normal. I wonder if he’s speeding it up 25%?
@@CBCMI sorry didn’t make myself clear, videos are perfect but most other channels only release 1 or maximum 2 videos a week. Releasing every day is impossible to keep up with if you watch many other channels.
Far from perfect. Messy, unorganized, using the pencil is difficult. I hope they make it better but for now, it is unusable
One of the many things that makes this video so helpful is how you move back and forth between Mac and iPadOS to show us how the same thing is done on both devices. Thank you for doing it that way.
At first I had a hard time working out what the point of this application is but now I can see it can be incredibly useful. Thank you very much for opening my eyes to Freeform's potential usefulness.
The way you present new software is incredible! I can imagine the hours you spend playing around and figuring it out.
As usual Gary; your educational video is the most thorough with subtle details about Freeform, and your presentation makes it easy to follow and understand.
Ahhh, great way to end the week!
As I mentioned in other videos I am binge watching - what a library of information you have. You tach so much so quickly - thank goodness for pause and replay. I wouldn't want you to change anything you do I am impressed by the depth and level of knowledge and ability to explain in layman terms.
totally agree,he is a mac jedi master, thankfully there is pause option to absorb so many tips😊
I get more from your videos than hours of reading Apple Support notes. Well Done!!
Nicely done, thanks! I wonder how long it will take to get some functionality for floor plans and similar layouts. Not a full CAD setup necessarily, but with some basic dimensional and object-joining features that DIY’ers could use without installing expensive or questionable software. That would be cool.
This was so great! I was looking for a way to do line connections with the normal line! I didn’t realize there was a set tool for it… so many other great suggestions too 😊
It would be interesting to have a summary of the differences in the features between Freeform versus Pages or Keynote - each of which has drawing capabilities.
Thank you very much for the education. As an instructor for a university class, I appreciate your last subject regarding the sync use of freeform between a device that is connected to a projector and an IPad. Extremely useful.
Thanks Gary, as usual, you videos are packed with great tips, clearly explained and illustrated. You are good!
A very useful and informative video tutorial today! It took me forever too watch because of the weather conditions. It was worth the wait! Thank you, Gary! 👏🏻❤️
That’s why I watch these videos indoor-nice and warm with a hot drink! We also got hit these frozen North Pole weather
Thank you so much, Freeform can do a whole lot more than I though it could
So helpful!!! Your help is greatly appreciated!
really useful video, thank you! I'm going to use Free form when planning ceremonies with clients. Such a powerful app!
I’m so digging this app. I’m going to use it a bunch in a video I’m making for Sunday. It’s really cool. I’d love if if you do more with this app later! Your vids are great - so glad I found you. I made a chart in the app but I added each line.
Merry Christmas to you and your family Gary and Thank you for sharing your Mac knowledge.
Another excellent video! Many thanks.
Awesome stuff... thanks! So much more useful than most other videos I've seen. Love the presentation idea...

I recently discovered Freeform on my iPhone and decided to give it a try. Although some options may not be available on the iPhone version, I found this video tutorial to be very helpful.
Amazing video !
Your tutorial was helpful, thank you.
Great video Gary and many thanks
Awesome! Thank you so very much! Happy New Year!
Great demo. Lots more to Freeform than I thought. New subscriber!
Gary - superb as always - Have a great xmas and new year 🙂
So as luck would have it, I needed to create a flow chart for my dissertation and I was trying to figure out how to do that and saw the new freeform app, as well as the curved line which I could not figure out...well guess what, this video explained everything! Including the ability to set a shape to the background which I also need. Simply brilliant!
Great thanks!

For the image heavy exports, you could do a screen shot too. Great tips! New to FreeForm and now know this will work better for me.
Awesome video! I knew Freeform was awesome but it was great to learn a few more things I hadn’t discovered yet. Thank you!
Thanks! That's a super cool app actually

Very cool. Connections lines
💯 Always great content, I’ll be using freeform for my youtube channel and this is super helpful!!
Thanks. Verry good video 🎉
I love your content
You sir.... are AWESOME!!!! Your content is so informative and rewarding!!! Thank you again Gary!!! :)
Really helped! 10/10!
great video
I had no idea about this! Updating my iPad OS now so I can play with it!
excellent tips: allowed to understand the full potential of free form
Great video. You earned a sub!
This was exactly the info I was looking for, thanks! Would be great to see all the same info but with an iPad as the screen.
excellent teaching reminded me I never knew for over 20 years
Thanks AGAIN Gary! I was just trying FreeForm out last night and trying to change the angle of an element and didn’t know about the command key changing it’s function. I’m still watching, but if you show how to make an items color a gradient (need a 3d look) you’ll be my hero! ❤ Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁 🎅🏽
Nope, no gradients. If you really want them you can create shapes with a gradient in Pages or Keynote, and copy and paste. But that will convert it to a bitmap image along the way.
@@macmost - Thanks! I’m still trying to figure out what it’s good for, LOL!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH! That one fella, Larry Moffat, said it righteous: you teach more ideas in 15 min that hours long seminars! 👍🏻
Amazing
Thanks bunches
excellent
Good show, now I have some ideas on how to use FreeForm.
Great Video! Very helpful examples indeed.
Like most Apps from Apple, they offer a lot of functionality, that is a litte "hidden", but actually they just follow the same UX principles like most apple-apps since the last 30+ years: offer lots of functions that don't get in the way.
Merry Christmas from Europe!
I was looking at something like the clips board for flow charting with symbols not the same as is in the symbols library. I could make a different clip board for the various types of symbols. Thanks for that idea.
This might be my favorite app right now
Last year I made my change to MacOs for the first time, and your videos have been so valuable to help in the transition. I am really enjoying the Mac OS and all the amazing tips I've picked up from watching your channel. Thank you
I am able to change the color and transparency of objects on my iPad. If I hold control when I select the object and a task bar appears beside the dropdown full menu. On the far left of the bar is a color dot. When I click that, a full color select window appears with an opacity slider.
Very informative. Thnaks a lot. By the way text can also be editable.
Thank you for the content. I'm designing in freeform on my mac. After I place a line, can I erase part of it later?
I'm using GoodNotes. This looks more versatile in some areas. I wonder how those two compare.
Ok sorry Gary I guess my auto-update is a bit slow, I went into system settings and asked for updates, and there it was so all is good Thanks for your support your the best.
Thanks for the tutorial. I noticed, Some of the features are only available on available on the mac exclusively.
amazing, I wish I could give many many likes for this video!
Perfect
Thank you for your video, Gary! I cannot find the board I created on my Mac on my other devices. The freeform app is toggled on all devices. The board I created on my iPad is showing on my laptop but not the other way around. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Nice video brother, Thanks for sharing. you got a fat LIKE from me haha 😄
Marry Christmas
A connection line can also be inserted by selecting two objects and choose connection line from the menu.
