    Few Things:
    -After rendering I saw a lively discussion on the Series of Pipes Discord about subscriber gear and gift items becoming blueprints. This is genius and wish I thought of that late last night. This explains why CIG has not clarified things on these items for 1.0.0
    -I know its just under 23 minutes but was trying for a little comedy in the cover to help soften the blow of a long lofi video.
    -Again, if you appreciated the work give my other video a shot I put a ton of effort into making a soundtrack for it and the licenses are not free. ua-cam.com/video/btuCazUXtyc/v-deo.html
    -No matter what your opinion on the changes I appreciate you took the time to find videos from me and other creators to hear some opinions on the upcoming changes to insurance as we know it. It is critical we as a Community are talking about this and bringing awareness to everyone of these changes. Thank you.

      On first point above, I should have put "If this is the route CIG takes, this explains why CIG has not clarified things on these items for 1.0.0 yet." Didn't want pull an edit on everyone as this is a serious topic.

    All pledged ships have a permanent warranty, which means if someone runs the ship without insurance and blows it up, he/she can get it back after renewing the insurance again.
    "you can NEVER permanently lose your pledge ships" as the post says.

    I'm quite happy with the direction and glad they finally addressed the insurance question. It's been years we've been asking for an idea of where they wanted to take it. I'm still going to get LTI on all my ships as I build CCU chains so it's no extra effort (and its kind of fun working it out :D).

    and yeah, "decorations" should be reworded to "contents", at least, contents that are not other ships and vehicles. that's how insurance works today IRL when you have house insurance for example.

    Keep in mind, Pledge gear will be, after 1.0, gear they will always have access to claim. But that doesn't make any of it actually *important* once the full version launches.
    Yes, we will get what we paid for. Active insurance (whether LTI lasting forever, or the 6 month-10 year the pledge comes with while they last, or the on you buy in game) plus a warranty (which all pledge ships have permanently) makes all pledge ships reclaimable. Forever.
    *As their stock versions.*
    But this *is* a MMO. Pledge ships are all Tier *one*
    That means they will be outclassed by crafted (and likely some rewarded) in game ships at higher tiers. That is what MMO people call "endgame gear".
    Pledge ships will never be endgame gear. That certainly does not mean they will be useless. Imagine the events where you know you will die. A lot. Use your LTI pledge stuff to do that stuff because you will need multiple ships to be reclaimed quickly. And lets face it, in this game a great pilot with an ok ship will win over an ok pilot in a good ship. So the pledge store stuff will automatically be useful, and might even be a source of schematics for reverse engineering, etc.
    But they wont be our long term goals.
    Crafted stuff will be... and those require purchased in game insurance and obtained in game transferable warranties.
    So relax. Spent monies will be useful, but not pay to win.

    I think it's actually a small thing, insurance has only became a big point of contention because of LTI. I myself has two LTI tokens for my most precious ships, but being CCU's, but I didn't put that much stock in it anyway. I always guessed that insurance and warranty would be relatively cheap in game anyway and we will all pay for Top Tier services anyway, the cost nullified by a few basic missions easy enough. It's great that they clarified it though and I'm happy with what was communicated. But really, it's a storm in a tea cup at the end of the day, lol.

    • @RedJay
      @RedJay  3 дні тому +1

      Exactly, its a small issue as long as you know your LTI and 10 year insurance is still solid. I think some folks saw early edits of this post by Jared and comments during CitizenCon and started scambling to confirm they are still good to go... and that is healthy honestly and inspired this current post I expect.

    • @Nemoticon
      @Nemoticon 3 дні тому

      @@RedJay Agreed. Even though we see it as a minor thing, something that will come as second nature to us when the game goes live... others obviously do not and have put a lot of thought into their own interpretation of what insurance is in-game. So it NEEDED to be addressed and I'm glad they did. Cheers for reiterating this in your video👍

  • @subnautios7023
    @subnautios7023 2 дні тому

    They made it so complicated. No LTI ships in the pledge store should be able to be reclaimed for a slightly high price (hammerhead for maybe 100k), and LTI should be T3 insurance period.

  • @sqrlmonger

    Is there better info on how some of this works in detail?
    They say you will earn a warranty, but does that mean its free from then on or does it have on-going costs associated with it being applied to a ship? When you earn it do you need to maintain a status with the faction you earned it from in order to keep it?
    It sounds like we probably will end up paying insurance + warranty fees just to have coverage plus some costs when ships are lost. I'm not that worried which way they go, but it would be nice to know.

    • @RedJay
      @RedJay  3 дні тому

      I expect a ISC covering this topic as things get worked out on in-game purchased/constructed ships and how the warranties that can be earned that can be attached to a ship will be worked out. I have many of the same questions such as how long duration is in-game earned warranty, is it hull locked to a specific size and manufacturer of ship...

    My take is that we made a big noise about nothing (CIG included).
    It has ALWAYS been known we would have to pay an insurance over components and paint jobs, sooner or later.
    The only ship, which is different from the standard is the 300i serie, where you can buy a ship, specific components and a unique customization as separate items. An LTI on that ship would mean you will have Tier 3 insurance and warranty forever.
    If you bought a skin for a ship you own, that's always available to you too, provided you go to Cousin's Crow to get it applied (unlike now).I still think there is technically no difference between an LTI or a 10Y insurance, but a short term one, like 3 or 5 months will exhaust pretty soon.
    It may be I'm weird, but I always thought it would be like that. Physical Ships have no value at the moment, because of all the bugs and quirkiness of the game, but that we know needs to change

    There's one big implication with it that I cannot shake: With this system, we will have insane amounts of cash flowing in and out of our accounts. The expectation here seems to be for us to at all times actually sit on quite a substantial amount of money

    • @RedJay
      @RedJay  3 дні тому

      That is a great point! Ships insured in-game not bought on store that have no warranty applied will be massive UEC when lost and bought back. Community members will have to keep track of this flow to guarantee they are not going to be negative at some point - and honestly it will be most backers as most who buy on store over the years will be buying in-game ships too.

    • @Leptospirosi
      @Leptospirosi 3 дні тому

      It might also imply, if the ship is paid back in cash by insurance, we can use the amount to buy a different model, instead of our old one.
      Also remember that losing a ship will also mean losing your life, (death of a spaceman), subject to inheritance + taxes and all, and that getting wounded will imply prosthetics and physical limitations.
      It will be a different game.

    • @Leptospirosi

    i dont think this is as bad as people think LTI and 10 year are basically the same thing. I wont be playing this game for more than 10 years there will likely in that time be something bigger and better out that will absorb my time.

    • @RedJay
      @RedJay  3 дні тому

      10 years after game hits 1.0.0 is a long time. And thats if game is stable enough by that point to start the clock (and again thats my prediction not proven yet thats CIG plan... but they would certainly be pushing as hard as they can to start the clocks). So ten years plus a year or likely two to hit 1.0.0 live - that is a long long time.

      If you buy a ship with cash or store credit on the site it will have a forever warranty no matter the length of insurance - its the length of insurance and cost to renew that level 1 insurance we are talking about. I understand where you are coming from and in your case I would only do LTI ships when talking about site bought ships.

    They are never going to offer LTI for cash prior to 1.0. LTI was always a perk for “early” backers and buying ships on concept. For all those squawking about how LTI isn’t a thing who are sitting on a large fleet are in for a rude surprise.

    Hi - great overview! still a bit confusing matter ..
    one thing: afaik the insurance counter drops only on days when you are logged in. so you wont loos your ship while not beeing logged in for a year or so. still i would feel a that itch of do i log in just to do stuff for 5 min while loosing 1 day of insurance just for that. on of the reasons i will stick with lti (or 10y insurance).

      Paint that comes with ship is LTI, 10 Year etc whatever pack was at the least. Traditionally ship paints are lumped in with FPS items, hangar flair, etc in that they have LTI... and running Communitt theory is they will just all unlock blueprints to easily remake the subscriber and reward/gift gear... same with paints I would infer if thats the way we are going.

    • @RedJay
      @RedJay  3 дні тому

      Any pledge store ship or vehicle gets a permanent warranty, the topic here is the insurance when you do not have LTI on ship. When game is released included insurance will start counting, which is no big deal if you have 10 year or LTI but if you have 6 months or a year it will arrive and when it does you will need to renew insurance to get Level 1 (ship as you bought it) insurance which covers ship and works with your permanant warranty do if you lose ship you get the whole ship back the way you bought it. I'm sorry the answer is long but its a layered topic.

  • @Boss-zo4lw
    @Boss-zo4lw 3 дні тому +1

    The whole insurance is a fucking mess and pathetic imo.
    Well ok so if i have a pledged ship and LTI, and ingame i never upgrade anything, then i am covered for life and will always get the whole thing back?
    So to clarify we will lose our ship purchases through pledge if we are unable to maintain active insurance and lose it?? This is horrible, we should never be able to lose ships we have purchased with irl monies, god what a mess.

    • @RedJay
      @RedJay  2 дні тому

      For non-LTI website bought ships when their insurance clock runs down you still retain the warranty but need to rebuy the Level 1 insurance on ship with in-game credits, LTI never needs this and 10 year insurance is incredibly long time, likely 12 years from now it would be expiring if I was to speculate as none of the insurance clock stuff has started and will not until minimum of 1.0.0 Live and stable (and that is my speculation based on how CIG tied insurance in so heavily into "1.0" presentation this year). You can get 10 year insurance at the big shows like IAE and Invictus through CCUs or melting (only melt when it makes sense value wise though) and rebuying what you want with 10 year insurance. I do believe CIG will figure out a way to offer LTI by time clock goes live... I just don't know how they will do it without riling up the older LTI collectors, well at least ones to mind... I really don't would be glad to see backers with what they need.
      On the in-game side I believe CIG will have to figure out a soft loss system for thosr who have a bought on website ship that has expired insurance and I speculate that CIG will use the warranty as a soft protection "You lost the ship, have no insurance, but the warranty allows you to purchase a 1 year block of Level 1 insurance to get ship back under warranty..." Which in past was suggested by CIG as a way to mitigate issues of never actually fully losing ship but making insurance mean something. Guess we will see.
