I took your challenge and found where this truck performs poorly at. I took it off roaring and tried to hit some rock crawling that keeps easily hit. I couldn’t do it simply because the truck is too wide. Lol. I could have but I would have had dings and dents for sure.
Other than that, it’s amazing!!
@@joemomma7161 Congratulations beautiful truck love the spec, yea really the only downfall to this is that it's not practical off road in terms of it's size haha but I know it can do it anything given the space lol. Found this video after buying a used 2019 with 69k miles. A few notes-
1) The Sync system had a major update I did after doing a complete reset. MUCH better response and usability.
2) I actually got this to work out of. Some of the towers I go to and the weather I drive through needs 4A and sometimes 4Hi.
3) The step in back is great if you have a ton of tools and supplies back there that you go back and forth while working on stuff. Last truck was easier to step up (shorter) but still got old (like me....) after doing it all day.
4) The wife loves garage sailing, so....
5) We plan to haul a medium camper on some trips or go rock crawling and off-roading on others.
6) It averaged 17.4 on highway using premium (math, not the dash number, which peaked at 19.6).
I know not everyone would buy a Raptor for these uses but like you said, it's the real thing!

In some ways, absolutely. It depends on your needs. A Taco will fit where this won't, but has a more cramped interior and smaller bed. Regular pickups can tow and haul more and some get better mileage. They are also narrower which is a huge plus in many urban and offroading situations. But love the Raptor.

@@MeynMotorGroup ...and not to mention cost. But as you pointed out, resale is really good. The first gen raptor was a limited run, which helped resale stats though. And 88% on 75k is a bigger loss than 88% on 25k, but still a good consideration to keep in mind. With the electronics, I wonder if the depreciation curve will be pretty flat, then drop off faster though. Hard to say.

Five stars out of Five. Had the 2010 super cab SVT with the 5.4. Traded up for the 2012 Supercrew SVT with the 6.2 - which was a huge improvement. Once the latest gen came out I leaped at a black 2017 Supercrew . . . amazingly perfect vehicle!! Everything the previous gen had and so much more . . . the ride and overall handling is a major improvement. And the 3.5 mated with the 10-Speed has greatly improved the mileage, along with the 500lb weight loss. I was barely over 12mpg with the 6.2 and through 65k on the 2017 I am at 16.5mpg . . . daily driver 60 miles round trip to work. Thought about trading for a 19 Rebel . . . but it is such a downgrade - never! And it holds value . . . when I trade for the 2020 or 2021 I'll have a bundle of equity!! Thomas running boards are almost as high as the truck, and they’re specifically designed the be rock guard, they can hold up the entire truck without bending if balancing on a rock
Yea I agree they’re strong but just nerve wracking when you hear them scrape on a rock haha

This truck is awesome. I've never owned or driven a ford before. I'm mostly a GM guy but this truck has my attention. I am VERY considering this truck as my next vehicle. The only other truck I am considering is the new 2021 Toyota Tundra.
I agree! And yea pretty all the trucks are great but the new 2021 Tundra seems interesting as well. Good thing about the Raptor like I mentioned in the review is that it holds value extremely well. Thanks for stopping by my friend.
I think the 10 speed transmission is not much for fuel economy I believe that it is to help that small engine to move that full-size truck
This truck has more hp and torque than the v8 did. Getting it moving isn't a problem.
@@Watchinchemtrailz two turbos a 10 speed transmission, that V6 ain't nothing without the help of those three but pair that same set up onto a V8 and I bet it will out perform the V6 again always a bigger motor is a better performer but I don't think Ford will ever build that Im just making an example of what it would be

I have the very same truck and color just don't go through a automatic car wash the pressure is to much it ripped the graphics off or the heated blow fans did but Ford replaced them under warranty.

first time hearing 10 speed automatic is stupid.In my opinion they rock in a track and street and even in offroad.u will have a tremendes supply of torque in any speed with the number of gears u have

Very good review. The way that raptor is Spec’d out is $72-74K. I wish ford would of at least put in a HUD ( Heads up Display ) and I would like to see a 10” or 12” screen like dodge offers. I still like the truck though. Lastly, I wonder what the percentage of the MSRP value is kept after 5 or 6 years ?
thanks so much! And yes this truck has everything except the forged wheels. This should keep a very large portion of its value, to the point where I think I would only buy a new one that has been sitting on a dealer lot for a while to get it at a discount.
Great review but I was kinda let down. I want to get a raptor later this year but I wanted it to double as a work truck because I do plan on starting a house rental business and this makes me think that it wouldn’t be good for that.
Thanks so much and yes using this for work isn’t impossible but it’s just really high up and only comes in a 5.5 bed. Only way this can be justified maybe is if you don’t use a toolbox in the bed and just use for hauling but again very high bed. Thanks again for stopping by! I apologise for my rude comment recently it was for Ford . We really have serious off-road in our way to the office and home and ford is ok with the pickup truck where the customer go to seek some off-road to test it. And here we are seeking some good road for the office as we have only off-roads I mean 80 % on Indians
And believe me I am a big fan of Raptor hope you respect feelings and seafty rather than a life style

I think nobody knows the real purpose of the engine, which is to balance the truck when jumping (raptor's best) and not going forward , so it will land flat.

Until they put a supercharged V8 in the Raptor it will never be what it should be.
I totally understand your concern V8s are amazing and the de facto choice for a truck but for what this is, I really don’t think ford screwed this up I do like this Eco boost but a V8 would also be perfect. Have you heard the rumors tho? They are apparently putting a 7.3 V8 in the next gen Raptor

i test drove a ford raptor a bit ago and wow its awesome ford raptor is the king. like you said lots of folks want to make their own raptor but they'll void their warranty and that sucks unless you got money like Trump then go ahead, iam a GM person but god willing my next truck will be a ford raptor. just have to hide from the babes so i can save some money.

The raptor is an actual bargain for what you get compared to other trucks on the market. If they weren’t they wouldn’t hold their value like a tank. Around me it’s almost impossible to find a raptor on lots, they sell within a few days.

Toyota holds its value better than any ford. Raptor without a v8 is a joke. Sell fast ? That is why there is 50 2018 on the market , A huge %.
